This week's Bible study highlights key points: the righteous person is full of peace and joy, and constantly knows where he stands on the way of salvation. Wisdom can be used to be shared towards the love for others or it can be used to harm them. Monastics give good advice about relationships even though they are hermits because they learned how to truly love. They have been with Lord Love. Once I belittle the truth my heart will become hardened to receive it. The rest of Bible study this week continues to present to us what defines the heart.

Jesus Ministries, Joan Boney  ...    judgment:  The end of the matter; a misfortune or calamity viewed as a divine punishment;   I've seen salvation through judgment.  Often people change when they see the frailty of their bodies and sometimes they know then that their only hope is in God who created the heaven and earth when they see their helplessness.   And God saves us by truth.

Restore Us, O Lord  Love Returned Series  Lamentations 5 Often, it takes reaching the depths of exhaustion and despair before we muster the resolve to change. Once we've tasted the richness of God's grace and strayed from its embrace, the stark contrast of a life steeped in sin becomes painfully evident. We find ourselves akin to forsaken wanderers (verse 3), cast onto the unforgiving streets, vulnerable and pleading for redemption. Deep within, we acknowledge that we ultimately bear responsibility for our circumstances. While we may inherit patterns of transgression from our ancestors (verse 7) and be swayed by external influences, the grace of God empowers us to resist and defy temptation. Shifting blame to our lineage does not extricate us from the snares they've left behind. We must confront our failings (verse 16) head-on to break free. Our journey may be tumultuous, marked by peaks and valleys, yet the constancy of the Lord remains unwavering (verse 19). Though we may feel forsaken or overlooked in our anguish (verse 20), He patiently awaits our cry for restoration, ready to embrace us again (verse 21). His anger is fleeting, dissipating upon our repentance (verse 22), as our sins are cast into oblivion, and the jubilation of salvation is graciously bestowed upon us again. -- Praise Tabernacle Dr. Joshua Kennedy,  Pastor 2235 Ocean Heights  Egg Harbor Township, NJ 08234 pastorjosh@praisetabernacle.com praisetabernacle.church  (609) 927-4560(w), (609) 402-8869(c)

The Israelites begin by doubting God's love for them, setting the scene for the whole book. God's response is to remind them that he chose the family of Jacob their ancestor, not Esau, to show his love and faithfulness. By questioning God's love for them in the present, they are questioning his faithfulness to his covenant and promises, and therefore his very character. Throughout the generations, God has always been faithful to his people but they have often failed to recognise that. How or when do we doubt the love God has for us? How can we say we believe God's love but act in such a way that shows we don't truly believe? The New Testament points us towards the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ as the New Covenant that provides a solid foundation for the love God has for us.

Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it...Wives, be subject (be submissive and adapt yourselves) to your own husbands as [a service] to the Lord...Ephesians 5:22.... This is to be done biblically never violating God's law mixed with sin. NEVER! 4 Things Men Want From Women... Two keys to success are Love...(is like food) and RESPECT..(is like water, men can't live without water) DISRESPECT is the #1 reason for divorce in the Christian home...Yes before finances!! 4 things that a man wants from a woman/wife.....(Let's look at 2) RESPECT....What??? His... a. Judgment--When he is NOT given space to grow in his judgment. This shows him that you don't trust his judgment. He doesn't want to look incompetent. Yes, men must step up in this area for the good of their family. If this behavior from a woman is demonstrated she must ask herself: Where did I learn my disrespectful behavior from?? Parent, social media, music, etc., Have I recognized, taken responsibility, repented, renounced, restored or replaced my attitude for healing and wholeness to God and my spouse? b. Abilities....respect how we lead our families, NOT constantly reminding us of past mishaps. We are not YOUR children. Learn how to communicate with grace and kindness (Proverbs 31:26) c. Proper communication....when there is disrespect a man will shut down in this area. He will either dry up or blow up, withdraw and put-up walls of defense. Never disrespect him in public or in front of the children and family. You must have rules, boundaries, respect and wise biblical discernment in your relationship. Never saying words like, 'I did it without your behind', 'Be a man and show me what a real man is like', or 'You got to work for this, this is my body' Finally, d. A wife must learn to 'adapt' to her OWN husband's journey of the marriage and the legacy that will be left to their off spring (Wives, be subject (be submissive and adapt yourselves) to your own husbands as [a service] to the Lord) LOVE... a. Unconditionally b. With grace and mercy of his flaws, not accepting disrespect from him. Establishing healthy boundaries between both of you c. Being his number one supporter. Never practicing 'girl code'....He is your husband not a competitor or your master to be fought! "When Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea, in the days of King Herod, behold, magi from the east arrived in Jerusalem." (Matthew 2:1) -"Caravans of camels shall cover you, dromedaries of Midian and Ephah; All from Sheba shall come bearing gold and frankincense, and heralding the praises of the LORD." (Isaiah 60:6) -"I was still praying, when the man, Gabriel, whom I had seen in vision before, came to me in flight at the time of the evening offering. He instructed me in these words: 'Daniel, I have now come to give you understanding.'" (Daniel 9:21-22) -Love will make you poor. When you truly love someone, love always leads us to poverty. Always. -Fr. Brian -I don't mean, necessarily, that you will be materially poor. You might be. There's a reason why priests and religious are supposed to be at least materially simple. What I do mean is that anyone who loves, loses their life. -Fr. Brian -"They were overjoyed at seeing the star, and on entering the house they saw the child with Mary his mother. They prostrated themselves and did him homage. Then they opened their treasures and offered him gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh." (Matthew 2:10-11) -Jesus has no need for these gifts. Jesus is a baby, what use has a baby for gold? What use has a baby for frankincense or for myrrh? Jesus has no need for these gifts. And maybe that's the point. There's a beautiful analogy here in our lives. We want to give things to God. If you love Him, you want to offer Him what you have. God doesn't need us. -Fr. Brian -The point isn't how talented I am, or how gifted, or how smart I am. Those things don't matter, God doesn't need that. What matters is there's something in our hearts that says, 'Lord, I love you so much, I can't help but fall down and worship and open my treasures to you.' -Fr. Brian -“Blessed are the poor in spirit." (Matthew 5:3) -The biggest poverty isn't material poverty.... The biggest poverty is when my life is no longer mine. Everything I had, and everything I wanted before, is now laid at the feet of the child in the manger. -Fr. Brian -If you're not in a place where you've really surrendered to Jesus, I want to encourage you to open your heart. -Fr. Brian -"Jesus said to him, 'If you wish to be perfect, go, sell what you have and give to [the] poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me.' When the young man heard this statement, he went away sad, for he had many possessions." (Matthew 19:21-22) -"He said to them, 'Come after me, and I will make you fishers of men.' At once they left their nets and followed him." (Matthew 4:19-20) -"A poor widow also came and put in two small coins worth a few cents." (Mark 12:42) -"When he was in Bethany reclining at table in the house of Simon the leper, a woman came with an alabaster jar of perfumed oil, costly genuine spikenard. She broke the alabaster jar and poured it on his head. There were some who were indignant. 'Why has there been this waste of perfumed oil? It could have been sold for more than three hundred days' wages and the money given to the poor.'” (Mark 14:3-5) -It's not just that we should be generous, this is not just a moral injunction....this is the law of what it means to love. -Fr. Brian -"For whoever wishes to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake will find it." (Matthew 16:25)

Well, it's Hannah "Green Tinted Sixties Mind" Kaufman's movie pick this week so we are heading back to 1966 and the George Axelrod film, Lord Love a Duck, starring Roddy McDowall and Tuesday Weld alongside Ruth Gordon and Harvey Korman. Have you watched the film? If so you will probably understand why we go completely off the rails this week. It's so bad that not even Garrett can get the train back on the tracks. Terry is so distraught about the film that he has five pages of notes and Robin is the only cast member that isn't censored this week. That's right, we even find a reason to throw some annoying sound effects over something Hannah said. You know she's going to love that.  Be sure to follow us on our socials, Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter and send all questions, comments, and vitriol to: 3cissiesandagirl@gmail.com

Therefore the Absolute Personality of Godhead, out of His limitless and causeless mercy, descends from the spiritual kingdom and displays His personal pastimes at Vṛndāvana, the replica of the Kṛṣṇaloka planet in the spiritual sky. [...] In the spiritual sky there are the very same varieties of pleasure, but they are all meant for the Lord. There the Lord alone is the supreme enjoyer and beneficiary, and all others are enjoyed by the Lord. The Lord is served there by all kinds of servitors, and both the master and the servitors are of the same quality. [...] Spiritual culture is meant to revive this natural affection of the living being for the Lord. The ingredients of fire are already present in safety matches, and only mild friction is needed to ignite a fire. Similarly, our natural affection for the Lord has to be revived by a little culture. [...] Therefore if despite this opportunity for human life we are unable to revive our natural affection for the Lord, we must know that we are wasting our life for nothing. ••• links where to read the book: biglink.to/lightofthebhagavata & photos of all the illustrations are here www.sravanamdiaries.com/light-of-the-bhagavata/ & check our FB and IG pages for paintings per episode

In aviation the letters spoken as a word reporting flying conditions is WOXOF. "Weather: Overcast, Ceiling Obscured, Visibility Zero in Fog." Pronounced like it looks: "WOXOF” when spoken most often gets the same response from everyone, especially pilots: “You're not getting me up in that.” Here in COVID-19 2021 as the year progresses and Spring begins, through the fog, there are some questions with everyone working at maximum overdrive, whilst delivering life-saving vaccines worldwide. WOXOF-“Where Are We Now?” Lord Love A Nurse Karin Krestan stepped down February 17 taking early retirement as Head of the Lufthansa Cargo Cool Center in Frankfurt. The lady pioneer of critical air cargo handling, who once served as a nurse’s aide at a hospital in nearby Darmstadt, Germany, joins an unusually large number of transportation professionals that seem to be taking early retirement everywhere across our industry just as demand for top line professionals increases. Voyage of Discovery From the mailbag comes a visit to the pioneering flying boat base at Port Washington, New York and a visitor in 1938 that in 2021 is a complete surprise. --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/geoffrey-arend/support

But fear off the Lord is "the beginning of wisdom". (Prov 9:10). It's the only antidote for the evils of our world (Prov 16:6). The Bible even calls it "greater than treasure" (Prov 15: 16). This week on "A Way with Words": Someone should write a love letter to a new book called "Letters of Note." It's a splendid collection of all kinds of correspondence through the ages: Elvis Presley fans writing to the president, children making suggestions to famous cartoonists, a scientist's poignant love letter to his late wife. Then there's correspondence in the digital age: Grant and Martha talk about how to emphasize something in an email, and when it helps to use emoticons. Also, the fabric called blue jean is much, much older than you might think. Plus, Lord love a duck, man in the moon, bacon and eggs vs. eggs and bacon, white-liver widows, and a vinegar-and-ketchup sauce called julep.FULL DETAILSLetters of Note, a book based on the website of the same name, is a collection of funny, moving, and insightful letters from both famous people and nobodies.Which comes first in this favorite breakfast combo: bacon and eggs, or eggs and bacon? Neither are totally idiomatic, but bacon and eggs is most common.Emphasizing one word over another, especially in written correspondence, makes a huge difference in the meaning of a sentence. And if all caps or italics don't do the trick in an email, consider using an emoticon.Since Adobe released the photo-editing program Photoshop in 1988, to photoshop has become a common verb, which got shortened to just shop. Now people are using the hashtag lazyshop, where you just describe the changes you would have made to a photo if you'd actually had the energy to photoshop it.Our Quiz Guy John Chaneski has a name game for famous folks who could use a different surname because of their trade. The term white-livered, like lily-livered, can describe someone timid.  But an old folk tradition, once common in the South, associates having a white liver or white spots on one's liver with an insatiable sexual appetite.  The terms white-livered widow, or white- livered widder refers to a woman who has a series of husbands who died shortly after they married, presumably because she simply wore them out physically. The fabric called denim originated in the town of Nimes, France, hence the name. The fabric known as jean, originally from Genoa, Italy was popular long before Levi Strauss and Jacob Davis and teamed up in 1873 to make durable work trousers using jean and duck cloth.  In 1958, when Elvis Presley joined the Army, some adoring fans sent a letter to President Eisenhower begging him not to let them shave The King's sideburns. The word julep, from Persian terms meaning "rose water," usually refers to a mint-and-bourbon alcoholic beverage with a kick as strong as a Kentucky Derby winner. But one family from North Carolina has a sauce they call julep: a half-empty bottle of ketchup mixed with apple cider vinegar. We've never heard of such a thing -- have you? Two years after his wife died of tuberculosis at the age of 25, physicist Richard Feynman wrote her an extraordinarily touching letter that remained sealed until after his death.Eudora Welty dropped the phrase man in the moon a couple times in her short story "Why I Live at the P.O." The phrase doesn't really reference the moon itself; it simply adds emphasis. Incidentally, seeing the image of a face or human figure in the moon is an example of pareidolia.  Some of the best things in the book Letters of Note are letters from kids to adults. One young fan's plea to Charles Schultz that he remove a character from Peanuts was actually met with approval. When someone says they should be bored for the hollow horn, it's typically a lighthearted way of saying they should have their own head examined. The saying comes from an old supposed disease of cattle that made them dull and lethargic, and diagnosed by boring a hole in one of their horns. In an earlier episode, we talked about regretting what you name your child, and we got a call from a mother who named her son Bodie and found that the name didn't travel so well. In France, people thought his name was "Body."The history of the exclamation Lord love a duck! is unclear, but it may be a euphemism for a rhyming curse word or for the mild oath For the love of Christ! This episode was hosted by Martha Barnette and Grant Barrett.--A Way with Words is funded by its listeners: http://waywordradio.org/donateGet your language question answered on the air!
