For decades, they've targeted American universities, funding entire departments like political science rather than isolated events. Democrats have signaled that they're running in the 2026 midterms on “affordability.” This week, Trump unleashed several angry, wild-eyed rants about their “affordability” message. In one, he raged that this message is a “con job.” In  another, he seethed that it's a “Democrat scam.” He's angry because these attacks are working, and because he knows it means the GOP's midterm woes are getting much worse. And right on cue, in this week's special election in Tennessee that Republicans won, the vote shifted 13 points to the left relative to 2024. That shocked Republicans into a panic: Representative Elise Stefanik openly fretted that Republicans are “underperforming.” Senator Ted Cruz urged Republicans to sound the “alarm.” And a senior GOP strategist called the result a “flashing red warning.” We talked to Amanda Litman, the president of Run for Something, which is recruiting candidates across the country. She digs into the special election results to explain why they're good news, details how Democrats can keep the momentum going through 2026, and reflects on what could still go wrong. On Tuesday's Mark Levin Show, history teaches us and helps demonstrate what patriotism is. But how can we demand patriotism from immigrants when we have American citizens on the neo-fascist right who trash our history? These people are not America first. How can they be America first when they don't understand our history, or founding? They will ensure that the Republicans lose the midterms and the Democrats choose the next president by causing even a small number of Republican and conservative voters to stay home. And the Marxist-Islamist left loves Carlson and the rest of them, as do the Democrat media that continuously promotes them. They know that he and his ilk will deliver them victories. They lack coherent philosophy and resort to attacks while ignoring historical lessons from great minds like Milton Friedman, Mises, Hayek, Adam Smith, Reagan, and Trump. And what is it likely to mean for America's Ukrainian allies? “The War Crime on Drugs.” Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth is at the center of another controversy, this time over his reported order to “kill everybody” in the first strike on an alleged narcotics-smuggling boat this past September—an order that, intentionally or not, led to a second strike that killed several people who were by that point clinging to wreckage in the open sea, in seemingly clear violation of Defense Department practice and the laws of armed conflict. Hegseth and the White House have sought to shift responsibility for the second strike to senior military personnel, but it's not clear whether Congress—where Democrats and Republicans on the armed services committees are threatening oversight—are persuaded.“Unlawful Good.” Several legislators who are also current or former servicemembers have been labeled the “Seditious Six” by the Trump administration and its allies for public statements they made reiterating that servicemembers' are only obligated to follow lawful orders, specifically in relation to ongoing counter-narcotics military operations in the Caribbean. While being questioned by Justice Clarence Thomas, NJ Attorney General Sundeep Iyer conceded that NJ hasn't received any public complaints to justify its subpoena against the pro-life health center. 3:40pm- On Tuesday, President Donald Trump held a press conference announcing the launch of federally supported savings accounts for babies and young children—which will go into effect on July 4th, 2026. Republicans say it was a lawful action against confirmed narco-terrorists, while Democrats and Senator Rand Paul claim it may have violated rules of engagement. A lawsuit has now been filed by the family of one of the dead traffickers. Bryan argues the debate is being driven more by political rivalries than by legal facts.   Trump Escalates Fight Over Somali Migration: President Trump declared that Somali migrants who committed fraud or concealed their identities should be removed from the country and called Ilhan Omar and her political allies "garbage." Minnesota Democrats fired back, accusing Trump of racism and warning Somali residents to stay vigilant as ICE begins new removal operations focused on people with final deportation orders. Bryan explains the legal limits of de-naturalization and why it remains difficult without congressional reform.   De-Naturalization Concerns for Lawful Immigrants: In response to listener concerns, Bryan walks through federal rules on improper naturalization. Fraud, concealment, or a lack of "good moral character" during the citizenship process can lead to revocation, but the standard is high and must be proven in court. He notes that upcoming fights over the Senate filibuster will determine whether the administration can broaden those standards.   Federal Crackdown on Dangerous Foreign Truckers: The Department of Transportation found that thousands of CDL training programs, many catering to migrants, issued licenses without meeting basic standards. Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy is pressuring states, including Minnesota and Texas, to end Obama-era rules that allowed truckers to pass without reading or speaking English.   Tax Refund Tightening and State Resistance: Treasury officials are closing loopholes that allowed illegal migrants to receive tax refunds, while the Department of Agriculture is withholding food stamp funds from states that refuse to share immigration data about recipients. New York, California, and Minnesota are preparing lawsuits to block the changes.   A Push to Raise America's Birthrate: The White House unveiled a private donation of $6.25 billion from the Dell family to boost "Trump Accounts," which offer savings for newborns and children under age 10. He kept the chaos going at a two-hour Cabinet meeting where he bragged about his cognitive test, nodded off, and let Noem announce immigration crackdowns in Minnesota's Somali community. Pete Hegseth used his time to deny ordering the killing of survivors of U.S. boat strikes and promised more strikes off Venezuela, as a Signalgate review is set to be released. Kash Patel didn't fare much better in the news cycle, a leaked 115-page report from FBI veterans called the bureau under him a fear-soaked disaster run by a guy who once refused to leave a plane until someone found him a properly patched FBI jacket. In more anit-immigration adjacent news, Brooke Rollins is threatening to pause SNAP funds for states refusing to share immigrant data. Sabrina Carpenter, however, wants zero association with ICE after they used her music in a raid montage. And like we all knew would happen, Senate Republicans appear to have abandoned the plan to extend Obamacare subsidies before premiums spike in January (shocking). “The Chair Recognizes” With November's stinging election results not even a month behind the Virginia GOP, their chairman, State Sen. Mark Peake, announced that he will be stepping down. Peake told me that he's leaving his post at the end of December because he wanted to make sure he could devote his full effort in the Virginia Senate to defeating the redistricting referendum before it needs a special election. He also said that the Republican Party requires a chairman who can devote a similar amount of energy to getting out the vote should it make it to a Spring special election, and beyond that, helping win whatever districts there will be come November's midterms. Peake stepped in after longtime chair Rich Anderson earned a post as assistant secretary of the Air Force.  Cameron Hamilton has announced that he wants the State Central Committee to consider him. Hamilton mounted a challenge for the GOP nomination in Virginia's 7th Congressional District in 2024 and his wife Karen was just elected to Virginia's House of Delegates from the 62nd District, succeeding the retired Nick Freitas.  Some other frontrunners for the chairmanship include current chairs of Virginia's 1st, 5th, and 6th congressional districts. They are Jeff Ryer, Rick Buchanan, and John Massoud respectively.  Ryer has helped Rep. Rob Wittman win reelection in a very competitive district while even outperforming statewide and national Republicans. Buchanan led the 5th District through the tumultuous (and expensive) primary battle between challenger John McGuire and incumbent Rep. Bob Good. Buchanan also pulled the district together to deliver a 15% victory for McGuire in the general election.  Massoud has helped Rep. Ben Cline build a strong base that supports him at a better-than-60% clip and has also managed to withstand out-of-state money attempting to flip Virginia House 34th District where incumbent Tony Wilt survived the 2025 “blue wave.”  Would Loudon County GOP chair Scott Pio try again for the chairman position? He has been vocal on social media about the need for a change and called for Peake to step down in the wake of the Democrat sweep of the statewide races and a 14-seat “flip” in the house.
