This week on the podcast, I'm joined by Marie-Luise, a professional opera singer from Germany who made a bold move after doing 100 solo workouts that led nowhere. She had already been performing a major role- twice. The first time, she promised herself she'd get in better shape for the second round. So she trained consistently… but when she stepped into the costume again, it was still just as tight. That's when she reached out to me. We had spoken once in 2021 but never started. This time? She joined within three hours. And she's been going strong ever since.Marie-Louise doesn't attend live Zooms. She doesn't need reminders. She follows her custom BBM program solo and the transformation has been wild.In this episode, we talk about:Why she finally stopped trying to “figure it out” on her ownWhat changed when she started strength training with structureThe difference between being disciplined alone vs. being coachedHow her transformation is showing up not just in her body, but in her performance, her confidence, and her presence on stageWe also get into:Why her mom noticing the change might've been the biggest momentHow Marie-Louise went from avoiding free weights to owning her space in the gymWhat performers need to know about looking the part and feeling good in their bodyThis episode is for anyone who's been doing “everything right” but still not seeing results or who needs a reminder that the missing piece isn't effort, it's a plan made for you by a professional.Want to see what happens when you finally stop guessing and start training for real?Book a chat with me here:https://monikaamazur.as.me/CoffeeandGoals

"But the countercultural truth is that preachers are more like opera singers than like athletes." -- David MathisScript:"Preachers are more like opera singers than athletes." This is a quote by David Mathis from his Desiring God article No One's Born to Preach: The Myth and Truth of Pulpit ‘Gifting'. He explains that while athletes peak in their teens and twenties, musicians and singers often peak much later in life. He encourages preachers to continue developing, cultivating, and practicing their gifting. I can relate to this, and I want to share my experience as both a worship leader and a preacher. I've been a worship leader longer than I've been a preacher, and I believe I've gotten better over time. Yes, it takes practice, but I've also had the opportunity to lead in a variety of settings: Sunday mornings, larger events like retreats, and smaller settings like prayer meetings. As a preacher, I'm getting my reps in on Sunday mornings, but also in different areas, such as speaking to children and teaching in Sunday School. To my fellow preachers, I recommend giving this article a read. I pray that God continues to grow me as I steward my gifts of worship leading and preaching for His glory.Shownoteshttps://www.desiringgod.org/articles/no-ones-born-to-preachLinkshttps://www.diveindigdeep.com/https://newsletter.diveindigdeep.com/https://www.instagram.com/diveindigdeephttps://www.youtube.com/@soundwordsfm https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/soundwords

The Stanford Arts Review described Samantha Rose Williams as a “Mezzo-Soprano with ‘jaw-dropping vocal power.” This opera singer and arts activist is committed to creating space for critical discussion about art, culture, and social change. Her latest project is American Patriots, an opera she created that seeks to examine patriotism from four vastly different perspectives: African-American, Native American, New American and white Working-Class American. For this piece, Samantha asked 50 Americans from diverse racial, socio economic, political, cultural and gender backgrounds to answer the question, “What is a patriot?” Their verbatim answers became the lyrics for her newest opera, which she sings magnificently. She hopes that through sharing nuanced stories of people of all backgrounds and beliefs, she can be a part of breaking down the walls of “us and other” and help to create a more sympathetic and equitable world.Have a Swan Dive to share? In the book, The Essence of a Woman, Cynthia's chapter is: Self-Esteem: The Road to Self-Empowerment where she helps the reader to realize, through her power quote: “The beauty you feel on the inside is the beauty you show to the world.” Cynthia was trained as an Opera Singer, where she writes music, writes poetry, and fully expected this to be her full-time passion and work. However, as life often does, an opportunity dropped in her lap, and as she evaluated the chance to pursue this dream abroad, she decided her young marriage was more important. And so, her next question was “Now what?” Chance took her into Electrolysis, where she not only helped herself (which you can read about in her chapter in the book) but also has been able to help a multitude of others during her 40-year career. In this interview, you will learn about her struggles, her ahha's, and how that changed the direction of her life to help so many. She helps people, especially women, discover their unique footprint of beauty in your world and loves helping people become the best they can be. In this session we will discuss: · What brought you to writing a chapter in The Essence of a Woman? · What has been the best part of writing in a collaboration? · What are some of the chapter titles? · How do you help your clients through your study of herbs, skin, nutrition, iridology, and music? · What is a suggestion you can give people to help them on their health journey? · How can people connect with you?
