'Borgie' focuses on creating layouts that offer smooth flow and satisfying shots. He aims to design pinball machines that provide players with a sense of continuous motion and engaging gameplay. His layouts often feature well-integrated ramps, orbits, and habitrails that facilitate fast and exciting ball movement across the playfield. John also gets the coolest theme.    This month Dave and Ron talk about how cool John Borg is and why Dave is not, what John did after he left Stern in 2000 and what he did when he got back, developing his style, reusing elements, orbit spinners (yeah!), John's themes, and what makes Borgie's second kick at a pinball career the path of a modern pinball legend.  Sources:  TopCast - Episode 27 – John Borg Head 2 Head Pinball Podcast Ep 41 – Keith P. Tony Shalhoub and Kristine Nielsen star in Amanda Quaid’s THE CLAM, the Second Place winner of Playing on Air’s 2019 James Stevenson Prize competition.    After a lifetime of playing it safe , a wistful clam (Shalhoub) decides to come out of his shell with help from a therapist (Nielsen). His friends are disappearing without a trace, he’s lost touch with thousands of his children, and he’s desperate for a pearl to call his own. Alternately tongue-in-cheek and deeply identifiable, THE CLAM is a comedy for anyone who’s ever felt adrift in their search for happiness.    Tony nominee Moritz von Stuelpnagel (Broadway’s Bernhardt/Hamlet, Hand to God) directs Tony, Emmy, and Golden Globe winner Shalhoub (“The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel,” The Band’s Visit, “Monk”) and Tony nominee Nielsen (Gary: A Sequel to Titus Androninus, PoA’s Wildwood Park). The opening episode of PoA’s 2020 Spring Season, THE CLAM was recorded live at New York’s Pershing Square Signature Center.

This conversation with Katagyna Shalhoub gives us permission to follow our own inner guidance.  She shares her journey through extensive education to discovering a creative side that brings her happiness beyond anything science ever could.  After earning her Master’s Degree in Ocean Engineering from MIT (yeah, whoa) to then continue on to receive her PhD with a high distinction in Marine Optics (yeah, whoa again), she looked around and realized she wanted to be using the ocean as a creative outlet - not a science experiment.  She encourages us to look at what isn’t working and to reverse engineer the parts of our life we want to improve.    TAKEAWAYS FROM THIS EPISODE: Traveling is progressive and through travel you get closer to who you’re truly mean to be. Our emotions are a great barometer for what we love to do and where we should be going, we just try to out-think ourselves from our emotions. Challenges are like a race with hurdles, you overcome one, then there’s another one. Distraction is parts of yourself calling to you-it’s about collecting the whispers and eventually they’ll take you somewhere. Stop blurring out the pars of your life that you’re not happy with, it’s ok to look at what’s not working. Flock of Seagals is changing things up. We've done 12 episodes of FoS that we're immensely proud of, that we did without the knowledge of the recent allegations against Steven Seagal. In light of these new accusations, and learning the full breadth of what they encompass, we've decided we're not gonna give him any more publicity, however small it might have been. However, we're keeping our RSS feed and our name for the time being, and we are still going to do what we do best on this podcast: seek out the most ill conceived and puzzlingly shot films we can find and give them the critical analysis they never deserved. Steven Seagal was our shorthand for that, but from here on out, we will be seeking out shining examples of movies where directors, actors, producers, lighting techs, audio mixers, editors, caterers et al all decided to "just show up", give it 50% and be home by 5. And by god does 2016's The Assignment fit the bill on that account. Directed by Walter Hill (director of The Warriors, producer on all the Alien films), The Assignment sees Michelle Rodriguez as Frank, a male hitman who has his gender reassigned against his will by Sigourney Weaver as revenge for assassinating Weaver's brother. The film features about 20 minutes of Michelle Rodriguez as a 110 pound male with a generous endowment, Sigourney quoting Poe to Shalhoub and not one, but two characters using flashbacks as framing devices. It’s also the grittiest Toronto has ever looked. We hope you'll come with us through this change, as we're really excited about making more great podcasts about bad movies, not bad people. As always, this episode is edited and produced by Riley's podcasting company Podigy, who have put out a Complete Guide to Podcast Editing which will get your podcast sounding phenomenal for free!Or if you want us to take your podcast to the next level, come see why people love Podigy's podcast editing This podcast is powered by Pinecast.

Bill's alleged sweetness starts this episode off. Blake is a 2 shave a day guy. Matt is a self proclaimed evolutionary step and Dave Moss is his spirit animal. The TSA lady in The Spanish Prisoner gives Bill the icky feelings. The fellas agree that passive aggressive responses to movie studio notes would not make for good scenes. Where have you gone Great Space Coaster? "Tell her I'll call her from the road" might be the saddest sentence in existence. David Paymer is Hollywood in a nut-shell. Bill's continued attempts to engage celebrities and referees alike now have Matt permanently cringed. What one gummie can do, another can do. How does a guy miss a Spacey in the audience? Foley is so dole-y with the visual clues. Dave says "Don't do as Dave does, do as Dave says." The boys discuss hospitals being bad news. Shout out to the guys who have signed on to bust Matt out of the hospital. Bill ruins our day, yet another episode and maybe the entire podcast, this time with an enormous bummer of a personal story. Thanks for sharing, Bill!
