What can we learn from their experience of addressing turning points in the transformation? In this episode they are joined by Arnaud Soirat, the former Chief Operating Officer at Rio Tinto, who led the global mining group through a radical bottom-up cultural transformation of the company's mindset and behaviour. When Arnaud was called to head up a productivity transformation, he saw that the people at Rio Tinto were its greatest untapped potential to create a new competitive advantage. And so, unlike previous transformations that had been top-down and unsustainable, Arnaud and his team inverted the pyramid and asked those on the shopfloor and actually doing the work to lead on designing a new operating model. We had a fascinating chat and it shows that behind all that success, often comes a hell of alot of grind. Talking to Iyare, it's obvious that music is his first love, and this passion has propelled him in his career from day 1. Long before hitting the heights of presenting early breakfast on national radio, Iyare cut his teeth as a music student in Yorkshire, before coming back to London and getting his hands dirty working for various music start-ups who were looking to make a profit in an ever-changing industry landscape. As we'll hear, Iyare spotted an opportunity as someone who could bring his love of music to the masses, and with a lot of hard work, hustle, and talent, eventually becoming one of the main voices on the then brand new radio station, BBC 1Xtra. He took another opportunity, setting up a radio production company, before presenting the weekend breakfast shows on BBC 6 Music, and becoming an invaluable member of another institution, the BFI.   Iyare's journey has gone full circle. In the first episode of the new series, Ludovic Phalippou and Vindi Banga discuss the sometimes controversial world of private equity. Ludo and Vindi explore how many private equity-backed companies weathered the Covid-19 crisis well, and address some of the controversial issues associated with the sector – typically high levels of debt have led to the collapse of some potentially viable companies, while many PE-controlled companies had to be ‘rescued’ by the tax-payer. Featuring: Ludovic Phalippou (@lphalippou81), Professor of Financial Economics, Saïd Business School, University of Oxford. Vindi Banga, partner, Clayton, Dubilier & Rice. Double Trouble Podcast - O&J Phelps

In this episode we chat to graphic design duo MinaLima. Throughout the Harry Potter films, Miraphora Mina and Eduardo Lima worked together to concoct the style at the heart of the films, from the intricately detailed Marauder’s Map, the wonderfully bonkers Daily Prophet and our favourite, the fantastical Weasleys’ Wizard Wheezes inventions.   We find out why the first attempt at Weasleys’ Wizard Wheezes wasn’t ‘vulgar’ enough, what Mira and Eduardo think about seeing their designs as tattoos and how the duo snuck their names into so many of their Potter designs.   Since the last Potter film came out, MinaLima have been busy designing Diagon Alley at the Universal Orlando Resort and creating the graphic props for Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, as well as for films outside the Potter world including Sweeney Todd and The Golden Compass. They’ve also illustrated a beautiful collection of classic novels for Harper Collins and opened stores in London, Osaka and New York. Find out more at minalima.com   We’re sad to say that this is the last episode of the season, but don’t worry we’ll be back later this year with more wonderful guests!
