If you have poor circulation in the legs and feet, you might experience the following: edema, swelling, painful feet, and cramps in the feet and calves. According to Dr. Stephen Hussey, author of "Understanding the Heart," the heart spins the blood, acting as a mechanism to create structured water. Similar to the way a tree pushes water up from the roots, increasing structured water throughout the circulatory system can improve circulation. You can increase structured water in your blood with infrared. Over 50% of the sun's energy is infrared! Increasing sun exposure can help improve the circulation in your legs and your heart function. Infrared increases nitric oxide, which supports the arteries and healthy blood pressure. Vitamin D from the sun also increases nitric oxide. If you have edema in the feet, potassium is one of the best natural diuretics for getting rid of excess fluid. Eliminating sugar and starches from your diet can also stop fluid retention, especially in the lower extremities. High sugar consumption depletes vitamin B1. If you're experiencing tingling and pain in the bottom of your feet, consuming benfotiamine—a fat-soluble form of vitamin B1—may help. Cramping in your legs and feet can also be related to a magnesium deficiency. For the best results, take 800 mg per day in the evening for several weeks. It's also important to avoid compression socks, which can further restrict blood circulation.Diosmin is an excellent remedy for varicose veins. If you have varicose veins, edema, or any other problems with the lower part of your body, avoid intense exercise. Instead, aim for light exercise like walking and try these simple leg circulation exercises! What about cold feet? Cold feet are generally caused by an iodine deficiency due to a low thyroid. Sea kelp is one of the best sources of iodine. Dr. Eric Berg DC Bio:Dr. Berg, age 60, is a chiropractor who specializes in Healthy Ketosis & Intermittent Fasting. Optimizing Cardiovascular Health with Dr. Stephen Hussey Guest: Dr. Stephen Hussey – Cardiovascular Health Expert, Chiropractor, Functional Medicine Practitioner, and Author. Episode Overview: In this insightful episode, Coach Debbie Potts sits down with Dr. Stephen Hussey to explore the root causes of cardiovascular disease, the role of structured water in heart health, and how lifestyle choices impact mitochondrial function and longevity. Dr. Hussey shares his research on oxidative stress, coronary artery disease, and the critical connection between grounding, infrared light, and mitochondrial health for optimal cardiovascular function. Topics Discussed: Structured Water & Cardiovascular Health – How structured water (EZ water) supports mitochondrial function, blood flow, and heart health. Infrared Light & Mitochondria – How exposure to infrared light enhances cellular energy production and reduces oxidative stress. Grounding & Heart Function – The benefits of direct contact with the earth to balance electrical charge, reduce inflammation, and improve heart health. Coronary Artery Disease & Oxidative Stress – Why heart disease is not just about cholesterol but also mitochondrial dysfunction and chronic inflammation. Longevity & Cardiovascular Optimization – Practical strategies for supporting heart function, improving metabolic health, and reducing disease risk. Key Takeaways: The heart functions beyond just a pump—it relies on structured water and electrical conductivity. Infrared light exposure (sunlight, saunas, red light therapy) enhances structured water formation, improving energy production and circulation. Grounding (walking barefoot, connecting with nature) reduces inflammation and supports cardiovascular health. Coronary artery disease is largely influenced by mitochondrial dysfunction and oxidative stress rather than solely cholesterol levels. Optimizing structured water, mitochondrial health, and lifestyle factors can significantly improve heart health and longevity. Watch the Full Episode on YouTube:

We have the second part of our mashup on heart health today, featuring insights from Dr. Stephen Hussey and Dr. Thomas Dayspring on the real drivers of cardiac disease.  In this episode, Dr. Hussey challenges conventional views on heart disease. Dr. Dayspring dives into the key markers for cardiovascular risk and the essential role of lifestyle changes for heart health.  Join us for a fresh perspective on heart health. Ep. 254 Understanding and Optimizing Heart Health with Dr. Stephen Hussey [8:52] After experiencing a massive myocardial infarction, Dr. Hussey came to realize that chronic stress, metabolic health, and environmental factors play a far more prominent role in heart disease than is commonly acknowledged. Yet the medical system remains fixated on cholesterol as the primary cause of cardiac issues, ignoring evidence that both acute and prolonged stress can directly trigger cardiac events. [22:11] Due to liability concerns and lack of approval, Western medicine operates within a rigid system that prioritizes standard treatments over potentially effective alternatives like intravenous magnesium sulfate for clot prevention. That limits physicians in exploring innovative approaches despite promising research. [29:13] Dr. Hussey explains that metabolic heart attacks can occur without arterial blockages due to oxidative stress forcing the heart into an inefficient glucose-dependent state, leading to tissue death instead of cancerous growth. His insight challenges conventional views on heart disease that tie into the historical shift driven by the flawed research of Ancel Keys that vilified saturated fats while promoting processed vegetable oils. [53:35] Heart attacks are often triggered by stress rather than just cholesterol buildup. Managing stress, along with metabolic health, inflammation, and nervous system balance, is the key to heart disease prevention, with fasting being beneficial across all three areas. Ep. 352 Lipid Masterclass: Apo-B, Labs and Women's Heart Health with Thomas Dayspring [00:02:33] APO(b) Levels are essential for assessing cardiovascular risk. Dr. Thomas Dayspring recommends an APO(b) below 80 mg/dL for general health and below 60 mg/dL for optimal longevity. He highlights the benefits of lifestyle interventions before considering pharmacological treatments, especially for those genetically predisposed to high APO(b). [00:24:00] The loss of estrogen during menopause increases APO(a) protein production, leading to higher LP(a) levels. That can elevate cardiovascular risk, and factors like pregnancy complications, PCOS, and lipid issues can indicate future heart disease risk, making early monitoring and appropriate hormone therapy crucial for women's long-term health. The sensation of pain has played an essential role in the evolution of life. As life evolved to be more complex, the mechanisms of how pain is created and felt have also become more complex. While pain signaling is essential for the success of any species, humans are facing an epidemic of pathologic pain signaling that has no usefulness for survival: chronic pain. This epidemic of chronic pain is creating the unnecessary suffering of millions of people. It costs millions of dollars to treat and prevents millions of people from working. As you can imagine, that certainly got his attention! We talked about the ways he's changed his life today after that heart attack. What did we discuss? One is the impact of unnatural lighting on our health. Staying inside, under fluorescent lights, a lack of activity, and processed foods all significantly contribute to our health. We also had a great discussion about the circadian rhythm. When you're sleeping, your body runs surveillance and gets rid of and cleans up all the damaged cells. Structured water is critical to good health. But what is it? How do we get more of it in the body? And can it really help us detox from disruptive ingredients in covid shots and other injections? And prevent or even help us heal after heart attacks?   Dr. Stephen Hussey addresses all of the above in today's conversation. Stephen is the author of Understanding the Heart,  and he has done a deep dive into what caused his own heart attack (at age 34!) and how to shore up health. He is convinced that it has everything to do with structured water (also called EZ or 4th phase water). Today he discusses how to create more of this critical water in the body and how it can help us not only detox from shots but heal and in the process, safeguard our health altogether.   Visit Stephen's website: resourceyourhealth.com Register for our annual Wise Traditions conference here: wisetraditions.org Become a member of the Weston A. He is a health coach, speaker, and the author of two books on health: The Health Evolution: Why Understanding Evolution is the Key to Vibrant Health and Understanding The Heart: Surprising Insights Into The Evolutionary Origins Of Heart Disease – And Why It Matters. Dr. Hussey guides clients from around the world back to health using the latest research and health-attaining strategies. In this episode, Dr. Hussey highlights several inflammatory foods that contribute to heart disease, chronic pain, diabetes, and weight gain, focusing on processed seed oils, grains, and sugars—particularly high fructose corn syrup and processed white sugar. He discusses the impact of consuming plant foods out of season, suggesting that this can create confusion in the body's light environment, exacerbating autoimmune issues. Dr. Hussey discusses the rise of heart disease and critiques the association between cholesterol and heart disease. He argues that this focus on cholesterol has been a distraction from the true causes of heart disease, which are related to lifestyle changes, particularly the reduced exposure to sunlight. Tune in as we explore the potential link between root canals and heart disease. We highlight the risks of leaving dead tissue in the body, which can lead to infections and endotoxemia—where bacteria enter the bloodstream, causing chronic inflammation and arterial damage. We also examine how heavy metal exposure and disrupted circadian rhythms from artificial lig Resources from this episode:  Website: https://resourceyourhealth.com/ Understanding the Heart: https://www.amazon.com/Understanding-Heart-Surprising-Evolutionary-Disease_and/dp/1645021300/benazadi-20 Pain Sense: https://www.amazon.com/Pain-Sense-Revolutionary-Physiology-Understand/dp/B0DC9CZT3D/benazadi-20 Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/drstephenhussey/ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/DrStephenHussey/ YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCEHJGZ17zRDZ9rn7yYrC-bQ The Hidden Messages in Water: https://www.amazon.com/Hidden-Messages-Water-Masaru-Emoto/dp/0743289803/benazadi-20

Hva skader slimhinnene i arteriene?Dr. Her er hjemmesiden til Dr. Stephen Hussey: https://www.resourceyourhealth.com Instagram: @drstephenhussey Sjekk ut Hussey på YouTube her: https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=dr+stephen+hussey Boken finner du i Norge her: https://www.ark.no/boker/Doctor-Stephen-Hussey-Understanding-the-Heart-9781645021308kriv her

“Pain is in the brain,” explains Stephen Hussey, doctor of chiropractic and practitioner of functional medicine who returns to the podcast to discuss the way the body interprets, processes and manages pain. In addition to the sensory components of pain, there are cognitive and emotional receptors, as well, which means physical pain is affected by mental and physical stress and vice versa. With enough trauma, the body begins to develop incoherence—which is when body systems are out of sync and unable to communicate. On this episode, Dr. Hussey discusses how we can build coherence and the connection between regulated pain signals and a properly charged system.    A large part of pain management is the attitude we take toward it. Dr. Hussey will explain why we develop chronic pain even long after our injuries have supposedly been resolved, why opioids fail us, and what's really behind the addiction to them.   Join today's discussion to hear more about how pain starts, how it evolves and how we can build a resilience to it.    Quotes: “You could have an emotional experience that's very painful, and we describe it that way. And it's because of these connections between the cognitive area and the emotional areas. Because cognitive, we're thinking about this thing that happened to us and how terrible it is, and we have an emotional response to it and we describe that as painful. And sometimes it actually can result in physical pain because, again, we're training it backwards.” (14:38 | Dr. Stephen Hussey) “This thing that happened to you—while it's happening, the amount of communication between the prefrontal cortex and the emotional centers dictates whether or not that pain will become chronic once it's resolved, or once the injury has resolved, or once the emotional trauma has—quote, unquote—resolved. Once those things have been over and done with, if you, during that time, trained your brain to communicate—the emotional and cognitive centers of the brain—you will have chronic pain, but if you didn't, you very likely won't have chronic pain.” (27:01 | Dr. Stephen Hussey)  “That's what we should be focusing on in pain, is how to change the brain. Not just block a pain signal, but how do we change the brain.” (55:22 | Dr. Stephen Hussey)   Links Connect with Dr. Stephen Hussey: Website: www.resourceyourhealth.com Socials: https://www.instagram.com/drstephenhussey/ https://www.facebook.com/DrStephenHussey/ Book "Understanding The Heart: Surprising Insights Into The Evolutionary Origins Of Heart Disease – And Why It Matters www.amazon.com/Understanding-Heart-Surprising-Evolutionary-Disease-ebook/dp/B09WVT95Q9/ref=tmm_kin_swatch_0?_encoding=UTF8&qid=&sr=   QBC Podcast #18: How Light  Helps Our Hearts with Dr Stephen Hussey https://podcasts.apple.com/ca/podcast/the-quantum-biology-collective-podcast/id1657777911?i=1000607675889 To receive a FREE infographic of the Ideal Circadian Day & join our email list: https://www.quantumbiologycollective.com/qbc-newsletter-aqb To find a practitioner who understands quantum biology: www.quantumbiologycollective.org To see details about the Applied Quantum Certification: www.appliedquantumbiology.com Follow on Instagram & Facebook: @quantumbiologycollecitve Twitter: @quantumhealthtv   Podcast production and show notes provided by HiveCast.fm

Stephen Hussey is a relationship coach, host of the "love life" and "speaking generally" podcasts, NYT best-selling author and a PhD graduate from the University of Oxford. Finding love in the modern world can be particularly challenging for a variety of reasons. Technology, while offering more opportunities to connect with people across the globe, has also complicated the dating landscape. With over 300 million dating app users worldwide, online dating apps and social media platforms may lead to a paradox of choice, where having too many options can create anxiety and make it difficult to settle on a single partner. The fast pace of modern life often emphasizes career and personal development, leaving less time for cultivating deep and meaningful relationships. Cultural shifts have also led to more diverse and individualized expectations around love and relationships, which can cause confusion and mismatches in values and desires between potential partners. Furthermore, the transient nature of modern living, where people frequently move for work or other opportunities, can impede the ability to build long-term connections. However, these challenges do not have to be fate, and we should not be nihilistic about it. In this episode today, Stephen joins the Freedom Pact to discuss: - Is online dating a good thing or not? - How can we set our lives up to navigate the dating world? - Is there such a thing as 'the one'? - The problem with romanticising Barbie, Christian Grey and James Bond - How to know if you should go on a second date with someone - Keeping the spark alive - Is attraction overrated? - Stephen's love letter to his future wife & Much more! “The main role of the heart is to vortex blood. So in a way, it is kind of responsible for the motion of blood, but just not in the way, not in the forceful pumping that we think of,” explains Dr. Stephen Hussey.   Dr. Hussey first got curious about the way heart health actually works upon reading a study that showed how inefficient the heart is as a pressure propulsion pump. In school, people are taught that the heart's main function is to pump blood throughout the body. In reality, the heart functions more like a hydraulic ram. Dr. Hussey explains how light helps heart health and why most of what you were likely taught about the heart is probably wrong.   The heart helps with blood flow, but is not actively pumping it throughout the body. Because biological surfaces are hydrophilic, or water loving, they will attract the water in the blood, re-structure it, and then that structured water lines the arteries. Thanks to the paramagnetism of body tissues and blood, the blood is attracted to the structured water along the lining and this keeps blood flow moving. When flow is interrupted, that is when medical issues arise like blood clots, strokes, and heart attacks. The main problem is that modern life is no longer conducive to creating or maintaining healthy flow throughout the body. From processed diets to artificial light, the modern lifestyle is one that tends to keep people out of balance with their environment.    There are many ways to strengthen your heart's ability to vortex blood. Activities like taking a walk barefoot, seeing the sunrise and sunset daily, and using an infrared sauna can help you to improve flow and boost your heart health.    Quotes “In a hospital setting, being under this blue light and just non-healing environment, these things that interfere with the structure of water, would be the worst spot for someone to be who's in say heart failure.” (2:10-2:20 | Dr. Hussey) “It's no coincidence that the heart has the largest magnetic field of anything in the entire body.” (7:33-7:39 | Dr. Hussey) “The main role of the heart is to vortex blood. So in a way, it is kind of responsible for the motion of blood, but just not in the way, not in the forceful pumping that we think of.” (10:35-10:46 | Dr. Hussey) “It's way more important to increase flow, increase the ability of fourth phase water to structure itself onto biological surfaces, whether it's the lining of the artery or the elements of the blood, makes way more sense to focus on electron flow to keep your mitochondria functional in your heart, because that's what creates that huge magnetic field so the blood can continue to flow. And so that becomes the recipe for heart health is optimizing your physiology based on this biophysics rather than over analyzing just one aspect of the body.” (24:41-25:20 | Dr. Hussey) “You just have to put your body in the right environment, based on physiology, based on physics really, and trust that it is going to do the right thing.” (30:59-31:09 | Dr. Hussey)   Links   Connect with Dr. Stephen Hussey: IG @drstephenhussey Website & Book: https://www.resourceyourhealth.com/   QBC has  a FREE live webinar on April 11th “Why It's Time For Practitioners To Learn Quantum Biology” with Meredith Oke and Carrie Bennett Register here: www.appliedquantumbiology.com/webinar-registration1679557191614 To find a practitioner who understand the health principles of quantum biology: www.quantumbiologycollective.org  To become a member of our practitioner community:  www.quantumhealthtv.com  To take our 8 week practitioner certification in the science of quantum biology so that you can add it to your existing area of expertise: www.appliedquantumbiology.com    Follow on Twitter, Instagram & Facebook: @quantumhealthtv    Podcast production and show notes provided by HiveCast.fm

We've all heard dietary saturated fat and cholesterol cause heart disease - but what you might not know - is that the evidence for this belief is not as foolproof as we've been led to believe.  And given that heart disease is still America's #1 kill responsible for almost 700,000 deaths per year - understanding what you can do to prevent it is paramount.  In this week's podcast with the author of Understanding The Heart: Surprising Insights Into The Evolutionary Origins Of Heart Disease - And Why It Matters, Dr. Hussey, we explore 3 little-known (and preventable) causes of heart-based issues and the common misunderstandings keep us stuck.  Dr. Hussey provides invaluable insights given his clinical experience and admitted obsession with the heart, but also because he experienced a heart attack and the shortcomings of current systems and strategies personally in 2020. This conversation was truly fascinating and I hope you walk away feeling as surprised and informed as I did. :) Here are some of my favorite takeaways:  The link between intense exercise and heart attacks The best test for preventing heart attacks The biggest misconception around heart disease Why heart attacks occur without a blockage The #1 risk factor for heart disease The food most of us are eating that may be linked to heart disease Why collagen is important for the heart Lifestyle tips for heart disease prevention Why the sauna is especially heart healthy The supplement that can prevent clots as well as medications The animal-based nutrients that protect the heart The link between heart and dental health And so much more! Heart disease is the number-one killer in the world. Despite ever-advancing medical procedures and more and more powerful pharmaceutical drugs, the rate of heart disease continues to rise. According to Dr. Stephen Hussey, this is due in part to misunderstandings about how the heart really functions and how to keep it healthy. These misunderstandings result in improper medical approaches and off-target intervention therapies. As a type 1 diabetic, Dr. Hussey has always known that he was at two to four times greater risk of developing heart disease. As a result, he has dedicated his entire adult life to understanding the heart, to prevent himself from becoming a statistic. Heart disease is the number one cause of death for women all over the world. Yet it's not talked about nearly as much as it should be. This conversation with functional medicine practitioner and heart-health expert Dr. Stephen Hussey is intended to spread awareness of how we ended up in this place, and what we can do to change it. Dr. Hussey is living proof that you can help reduce your risk of atherosclerosis through simple diet and lifestyle changes. He shares the steps he took to get healthier, as well as the five big things you can focus on in your environment to reduce potentially heart-damaging toxin exposure. He and JJ discuss heart-supportive nutrition, including why you should avoid seed oils at the grocery store (yes, you'll even find them at the health food store, so watch your labels!). They also dispel the myth that animal fat and protein cause heart disease, and provide supplement recommendations for promoting heart health. To get started on your path to better heart health, listen in to learn what markers to look for to pick up on insulin resistance years before it can lead to prediabetes or diabetes (often a precursor to heart disease) and the right tests to request from your doctor.
