On Thursday's Mark Levin Show, are you getting sick and tired of ingrates who have no connection to this country? Take Hasan Piker: born here, raised in Turkey where he was radicalized, and thanks to the Supreme Court, returned here as a citizen. Democrats might be keeping Piker at arm's length, but he is the face of the party. Democrats have embraced radical Islamism and Marxism just like they embraced slavery and segregation in the past. Islamism and Marxism are incompatible with the Judeo-Christian values of America and the Constitution. Most outrageously, Piker says, pound-for-pound, America causes more terrorism than Al-Qaeda. America is turning into Europe, which is dead and doesn't have the will to survive. Later, Bruce Blakeman calls in with an update on the NY Gubernatorial race. Blakeman says that his campaign is in a statistical dead heat, with polling showing him only 3.9% behind in a blue state. New York is facing economic decline, with population, business, and job losses, and warns that continued leadership by Kathy Hochul and Zohran Mamdani would further harm the state. Voters are increasingly recognizing the need for change and policies focused on job creation, economic growth, tax and regulation cuts, lower utility costs, and restoring law and order. Also, many members of Congress lack expertise in AI and data centers yet seek to regulate them. AI development is a competitive race that the United States must win. Any regulation would hinder innovation while allowing other countries to advance. If these doomer-Luddite politicians have their way, the new medicines and technologies resulting from AI data centers that are going to save lives, improve the quality of life, and increase the standard of living for untold numbers of people, would not happen.  They are literally trying to cripple these industries and these businesses, and they are also actively helping the Communist Chinese leapfrog our companies and our country.  Afterward, if the Democrats had their way, they would remove President Trump, Secretary of War Hegseth and Secretary of Education McMahon via impeachment. We need to remember the politicians who oppose this progress; they're populists, nationalists, Marxists, and socialists who seek greater control while presenting their actions as protecting "the people." Government control of AI would be a power grab and would benefit Democrat political interests and favored groups, while also helping Communist China. A GOP senator leaned over and told Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) how to vote. The clerk still couldn't hear him. This is day three back for an 84-year-old senator after more than 90 days away — a fall, pneumonia, two months in the hospital, and a wheelchair through the Capitol. The Senate Agriculture Committee had already stalled the farm bill without him. On Wednesday, they needed that vote. So they brought him in, called his name, and the country watched Sen. John Hoeven (R-N.D.) lean in with “no” while McConnell quietly said “aye,” then had to say it again louder because nobody caught it the first time. The bill cleared 12-11, party lines. The question is why Republicans keep pretending this is just a tough recovery and not a fitness problem. If a Democrat this frail needed a neighbor to coach a roll call, this network would not be told to look away. Farm policy, nutrition fights, and a chamber that already runs on people who should have gone home years ago — and the party of “common sense” wheels a man in because the math is 12-11. When it comes to the war in Iran, my supposition is that the economic negativity driving the country — and creating an environment where Democrats could do very well in the midterms — is entirely about one thing: the price of gas. The war is incredibly unpopular, but it's different from the war in Iraq. Both were very expensive, but Iraq brought coffins back at a scale we haven't seen here. The biggest difference is what Americans are paying at the pump.According to AAA's live average, gas is at $4.44 nationally. It's higher in states like California and New York, but even here in Texas, where we have relatively low gas prices, it's edging toward $4. During the memorandum of understanding, that son of a b***h kissed the twos. Before the war in Iran, it was sitting around the twos. It's not good right now.The question is whether this is Iran's play. Iran is extraordinarily sophisticated in its understanding of the American electorate and the American democratic system. Are they timing their greatest chaos in the region to spike the price of oil as high as possible during election season? The United States appeared to have established a flow of tanker traffic through the Strait of Hormuz, but now we've seen missiles and drones fired at American vessels and major damage to Saudi Arabia's 745-mile east-west pipeline.Politics Politics Politics is a reader-supported publication. Saudi Aramco has already told three European refiners they won't receive their full September allotments, forcing them to buy emergency stock on the open market. Because oil is a globally traded commodity, that drives up the price. Chevron CEO Mike Wirth has warned that stockpile releases and access to previously restricted oil stored abroad had constrained prices, but those buffers are now played out. Iran has been warning about $200-a-barrel oil since the beginning of the conflict.The obvious historical comparison is Jimmy Carter. But this isn't 1979. Headline inflation was 11.8 percent then, compared with 3.4 percent now, and unemployment was 6 percent instead of 4.1 percent. We're doing better by those measures, but will any of it matter? Gas was 98 cents a gallon in August 1979. In August 2026, it was $4.20, and it's even higher now.The sunniest version of Trump's tariff policy was that he'd become the greatest energy president of all time and drive gas prices low enough to give him room to negotiate better trade deals. All of that went out the window with the rush into Iran. Even if you don't totally hate the war from a foreign-policy standpoint, you can understand that this is political poison. It's strychnine for the average voter. Electing Trump was, in part, a cry for economic relief from people who didn't trust Joe Biden to provide it. The numbers currently suggest Democrats will receive that same benefit of the doubt.
