Chris was a ski racer at Middlebury College when he fell in a ski accident, leaving him paralyzed from the waist down. Chris was back skiing within a year, and went on to become one of the most decorated mono-skiers of all time. When Chris retired as a professional athlete, he summited Mt. Kilimanjaro on a hand cycle, in an effort to turn perception of disability upside down. He is the first paraplegic to summit Mt Kilimanjaro, nearly unassisted, on a hand cycle. Chris' journey lives on through the documentary 1Revolution. Chris' genuine, personal and considerate delivery aims to connect and instruct, something he sought even as a competitor. As he became the fastest monoskier in the world, he and his female counterpart started a monoski instructional camp to help others unlock their potential without enduring the pain and frustration that they had. Members of those camps went on to win National, World Championship and Paralympic medals. When he attempted to become the first unassisted paraplegic to summit Mt Kilimanjaro, he stood on the shoulders of his heroes to turn the impossible into reality and give others the courage to confront their fears to live and perform most fully. The climb wasn't without incident. His team had to carry him up a boulder field, but that “failure” allowed him to separate from the obligation to be a superhero—to be honest, vulnerable and to find his real power. In 2015, he published his first book Things I Want to Remember Not to Forget, inspired by his Middlebury College Commencement Address. The following year, he taught himself to draw and wrote and illustrated his first children's book, Is It Lonely to be a Four-Leaf Clover? He has appeared on Dateline, Oprah, and 20/20 as well as providing color commentary for the Paralympics on NBC and being one of People Magazine's “50 Most Beautiful People.” Chris just did a second run of his "Things I Want to Remember Not to Forget" book and just last month, he returned to NBC's coverage of the Paralympics, handling Opening, Closing and Skiing analysis as well as some host responsibilities. A popular keynote speaker, Chris helps audiences become champions of their businesses, their worlds and themselves. He has spoken to nearly every industry and kind of audience—from Fortune 500 Companies to non-profits, from sales groups to venture capitalists and engineers. He inspires audiences to consider how seemingly ordinary people can achieve the impossible. For as far back as she can remember Teresa has always been passionate about the power of good communication. In fact, it was an incident that happened in her formative years that truly shaped the trajectory of her life. When Teresa was in grade school in the late 1950s, she was punished for talking out of turn in class (I know we were shocked too!). The teacher decided that her “punishment” was to be seated next to the only African American child in the class. Teresa certainly didn't see this as much of a punishment for herself, but even at that young age she was acutely aware of how humiliating this must have been for the other child. That incident was the beginning of her commitment to seeing things from other peoples' perspectives, and the power of both verbal, and non-verbal communication. Whether guiding business leaders to reach new heights, coaching individuals to increase results by bettering their presentation skills or mentoring women of all ages, Teresa works with joyful determination to ensure her clients leave their time together challenged, and in an enhanced position to reach their goals. Teresa has found there are certain universal principles that work consistently. “When we communicate from the best of who we are,” she says, “from what's most important to us, we inspire ourselves and we can inspire others. There's communication, not just data exchange.” When we look at the depth and diversity of Teresa's entrepreneurial experiences, we often joke that it appears she has had many incarnations. She has done everything from running a successful gourmet cheesecake business from her home (yes, she was head baker too!), to running a company that offered high-end video production services to corporate clients. No matter what the business she quickly recognized that her success was rooted in good communication. After many years of consulting with her corporate clients, Teresa realized companies needed help with their messaging, marketing and overall communication strategy, so she formed Connect To The Core Inc. because she truly believes at the core of all success is great communication, and at the core of all great communication is connection. It is over 35 years since she started, and Teresa has helped thousands of individuals and hundreds of companies reach their goals. She is now in her element, creating original solutions to complex issues for her clients to become their best selves and achieve remarkable results. Teresa was born and raised in Michigan and lived throughout the US for many years. She currently splits her time between her home in Toronto, Canada and her farm in Northern Michigan. Dr. John Jaquish developed an interest in life sciences when his mother was diagnosed with osteoporosis.  With a desire to help his mother avoid the side-effect inducing medications designed to treat the disease, he began his research.  As he progressed through his research, he realized that it was really a dysfunction of disuse and a lot of what are called ‘diseases of aging' are really just diseases of not doing what you need to be doing to stay alive. Like exercise, moving around, keeping a decent heart rate, good blood flow, good airflow.  All these diseases of aging really don't have much to do with aging. It just has to do with disuse.  With that, he set out on a mission to find a group of people who are outliers, who were able to build bone density, higher than anyone else? Super-human bone. He went and identified this audience immediately. It was gymnasts. It's because of the rate at which they hit the ground–they sometimes get 10 times their body weight loaded through their hip joints and their lower extremities. He then built a device that emulates high impact and in that emulation of high impact, induces a change in bone density.  Eventually, Dr. Jaquish created a set of medical devices that compressed bone and now there are 130 clinics around the world that are just for this. It's called OsteoStrong and they are in eight different countries.

She very quickly learned to appreciate the profound impact an unconscious leader has on people, teams, and organizational health and performance.  The significance and value of a team became abundantly clear, as did the critical importance and necessity for her to immediately begin evolving as a leader. This painfully humbling experience (which she affectionately refers to as #TheSuck) set the course correction for what would become a lifelong hunger for leadership growth and contribution - a self prescribed reparation in many ways, shared through her 12 Leadership Lessons.  Early in her leadership journey, she was an absolute ASS as a boss, oblivious to the impact she was having on people! Perhaps, like many of you, she didn't understand how to lead. Authenticity is a critical component to connecting with others and creating an emotional connection.  But, there are times when we may need to put a little technique into our authentic selves.  Some may refer to this as acting. I am not saying we should pretend to be someone else while we're trying to make that next sale, or close that next big deal or even create that next compelling piece of content.  But, understand the craft of acting could help you leverage the power of storytelling in ways that will make you more memorable, more relatable, and even more authentic. Based on Michelle Danner's last 30 years of supporting both A-List and up and coming actors to fulfill their maximum potential, film director and international acting coach Michelle Danner has distilled the best ideas and practices of the major acting techniques; Stella Adler, The Sanford Meisner, Lee Strasberg, Uta Hagen, Chekhov, & Stanislavsky so artists can draw upon them and utilize the strengths of each. Every actor is unique, so you will learn to form a toolbox of your own, your very own “Golden Box”. Through studying Michelle Danner's acting technique you will accumulate a comprehensive set of “acting tools” you can use when approaching a role or a scene, whether it be for film, television, theater or business.
