How cautious should people be about filling their utility spot early in drafts (2:30)? ... Let's get into ADP, starting with the
Rich Dotson and Garret Price are back with one of the cleanest ways to win trades in dynasty: the tier down. The goal is to move from Player A to a cheaper Player B when the weekly scoring gap is smaller than the market thinks, then take the “plus” in picks or players on top. This episode is built around one core idea: if you can get similar production and add extra capital, you are gaining value without sacrificing points. That can mean targeting bad ADP, fading hype, and taking advantage of managers who overpay for the “bigger name.” The show starts at quarterback with a bold move from Joe Burrow to Baker Mayfield, arguing the production gap can be much smaller than the startup cost gap if you price in injury volatility and the market's perception. Rich adds that quarterback is often the easiest position to tier down and brings up Brock Purdy and Trevor Lawrence as other viable “score close and get younger” targets. At wide receiver, Rich looks at tiering down from Tee Higgins to Jameson Williams, focusing on age, pricing, and how close the points can be if the situation stays favorable. With the Super Bowl in the rearview mirror and free agency approaching, Rich Dotson, Matt O'Hara, and Garret Price break down the best dynasty buy targets at running back and quarterback. From injury comebacks to undervalued veterans, these offseason gambles could pay massive dividends for contenders and rebuilders alike. Jonathon Brooks headlines the running back buys despite missing two full NFL seasons with ACL injuries. At RB52 overall, he represents a cheap lottery ticket with Carolina signaling he'll compete for the starting role. Head coach Dave Canales praised him as big, beautiful, and explosive with a real shot to win carries alongside Chuba Hubbard. Sean Tucker offers similar upside as a free agent who flashed in Tampa Bay with eight touchdowns despite limited touches. At just 24 years old, he could land a backup role that turns into a league winner. Quinshon Judkins dropped from RB12 to RB14 in ADP due to injury concerns, but all reports suggest he'll be ready for training camp. The addition of Todd Monken as Cleveland's offensive coordinator is huge, as Monken helped Nick Chubb achieve his best season in 2019. The ADP numbers were a weak but in my view accurate reflection of the state of the labor market in the US Today the Bureau of Labor Statistics published their employment report for January. I'm here to tell you to skip the headline and in particular pay attention to the part most people skip, the revisions. Because right now, the revisions are the story.The headline for January 2026 says total nonfarm payroll employment rose by 130,000, and the unemployment rate held at 4.3%.If you stopped there, you might conclude the labor market is reaccelerating. But here's the problem. In the same release, the BLS tells us that the entire year of 2025, after benchmark revisions, amounted to only +181,000 jobs on a seasonally adjusted basis. Think about that. One month, January 2026, prints 130,000, which is roughly the same magnitude as the entire net job growth for all of 2025. We regularly look at macro economic data to forecast interest rates. Interest rates affect one of the three main variable associated with any project. Those three variables are construction costs, capital costs and rent. Everything else is a rounding error by comparison. We are expecting new payroll data from the bureau of labor and statistics later this week. However, those numbers are full of approximations and adjustments. To me, the most reliable data actually comes from private enterprise which is the real time payroll data from ADP. The ADP data is not a survey or a statistical sample. It's the real data taken from real payroll transactions in the past month. We're going to start with the employment data and then look at bond yields. We know that the Fed funds rate has dropped 75 basis points in the past year. But the yield on the 10 year treasury has hardly budged in spite of everything that has happened. So let's start with the payroll info and analyze from there. The latest ADP National Employment Report, released on February 4, 2026, indicates a significantly cooling U.S. labor market. Private sector employment grew by only 22,000 jobs in January, falling well short of the Dow Jones consensus forecast of 45,000.If we look by sector, the modest growth was almost entirely propped up by Education and Health Services, which added 74,000 jobs. Then for the second half of 2025, the new version (red) shows much bigger job gains of 345,000 for June through December, than the old version (131,000). For 2024, the new version shows big job losses in February and March (red), while the old version showed moderate gains (blue). And then again in September and October 2024, the new version showed job losses (red), when the old version showed massive job gains (blue). For 2023, the new version shows huge job gains for May, June, and July, while the old version showed much smaller job gains. These massive differences go back all the way back to 2010. The goal of the US government is to send aliens home immediately (they get cash and a free plane ticket) with the fewest days in custody as logistically possible. Any delay is caused by the fake asylum claim. 6. When the fake asylum claim is heard on the “non-detained” docket the illegal aliens rarely show for their hearings. Those few who do show stay in the country regardless after losing (unless placed into detention). Removal orders are ignored as a matter of course. If and when absconders are eventually found (at great time and expense) they still have to be detained to actually effectuate the removal. At this point in time their lawyers will file a motion to reopen their asylum claim or otherwise appeal the finding and seek release again. Regardless, no removal of any alien anywhere can occur unless in a detained setting. If the alien has children they are, by law, supposed to stay in a family residential center (that costs more per night than a high-end hotel, and includes full medical, dental, scholastic and other services) 7.
