Miriam caught up with Steph Papas on OneSpaceLove, sharing about her journey, and how she came to birth her latest album and new release "Infinite We Are " a celebration of our own imagination. “A thing of intoxicating beauty.” Rhythms magazine (Miriam) has a knack for giving her songs a feeling of significance, even while they float with effervescent pop pleasure.“ The Music “Her songs are beautifully melodic, richly textured but can have pointed themes…. Simply brilliant" 4.5 stars, Jeff Glorfeld, The Age African influences blend seamlessly with blues-infused melodies and soaring vocal harmonies in the music by Sydney singer song-writer Miriam Lieberman. Her albums are soulful collections of stories, beautifully told through strings, African kora and Lieberman's unmistakable voice. The stories speak of Lieberman's musical journey, which has taken her from Guinea and Mali, where she studied the kora – a west-African harp with a beautiful, evocative tone – to central India, Indonesia, Mexico and South America. These places have left an imprint on Lieberman's musical style as well as a catchiness and contemporary tone that is entirely her own. The Miriam Lieberman Trio is a combination of players, adding luscious vocal harmonies and soaring string arrangements. Regular members of the trio are Lara Goodridge (Baby et Lulu, FourPlay) on violin and harmonies, Susie Bishop (an opera singer and member of Chaika and guest for other bands) also on violin and harmonies, Carl St Jacques (Miami Symphony) on viola. Earliest member of the trio with Miriam was Kate Adams on cello. Miriam is a multiple awardee of grants such as the John Butler Seed grant, Australia Council, Create NSW, APRA, Music NSW and the Australian Songwriters Association Award. She has regularaly featured at festivals around Australia including Woodford, The National Folk Festival (as the NSW showcase act), Fairbridge (WA), Yungaburra Folk Festival (QLD), Shir Madness, Blue Mountains Music Festival, Four Winds Festival, The Multicultual Festival (Canberra), Paramasala (Parramatta), Cygnet (TAS), Denmark Festival Of Voices (WA) and many more. Internationally, she has featured at The Guinean Jazz Festival, Hakodate World Music Festival (Japan), Voix des Femmes (Mali) and The Bali Spirit Festival. “Something of a renaissance woman ……Somehow she achieves the almost impossible in blending patterned western-ed pop writing with the earthy mystique of African rhythms and freaky world instruments.” - Sydney City News

Have you ever considered how your intuition can help you access your inner wisdom? Learn to better trust your instincts? Or find your truest path in life? That might seem like a big promise, but the truth is no one knows what you need better than yourself. For this episode, I sat down with Amisha Ghadiali. Amisha is an award-winning social entrepreneur, intuitive therapist, teacher, and leader. She’s the host of the globally acclaimed podcast The Future Is Beautiful, which explores the relationship between politics, spirituality, sustainability, and creativity. She's the author of the book Intuition: Access your inner wisdom. Trust your instincts. Find your path, hence our subject of today! She has an extensive background in leading meditation, breathwork, yoga, and energy healing. She has been featured in publications including The Huffington Post, VICE, The Guardian, Harper’s Bazaar, VOGUE, and many more, and has spoken at events and festivals around the world including TEDx Oxbridge, to name one. A selection of her meditations, myths, poems, and mantras are available on Insight Timer App.MY BIGGEST TAKEAWAY FROM THIS EPISODEFear is the main reason we don’t fully connect to and use our intuition. The voice of our conditioning is also very strong. It sometimes feels like it’s our own voice. Clearing and making our life as spacious as possible is a way to make space for our intuition to come through. Our intuition is wired in a way that wants to create a more beautiful future, it wants us to live from that place of the soul, it wants us to honor the beauty and fragility of the world we live in, it wants us to be creative and innovative and to find ways to handle shifts and change systems that are not working. By its very nature, it’s connecting us to ourselves and our dharma.A physical asana practice will help you listen with your body. As the energetic lines open and the information can travel, you can feel and hear intuition and wisdom.Living with your intuition is a whole level of intimacy you have to have with yourself. If you can cultivate intimacy in other areas of your life and be prepared to live from that place of authenticity in your relationships, it becomes easier to access within yourself.Intuition has an aliveness to it. By becoming more present to our intuition, we get off our auto-pilot, start envisioning our future and consistently realign what is in our best interest, while staying open to possibilities and letting ourselves be surprised and delighted by life and how it unfolds.QUESTIONS SHE ANSWERED DURING THIS EPISODEWhy have we lost contact or some contact with our intuition? How can we start tapping back into our intuition to fully live to our highest potential? How can we create space to enable inner shifts so we can listen to your own wisdom? How can we use our whole body to listen? Is the body the entry point to connect to our intuition? And then how do you connect to the more subtle? How can we learn the difference between our intuition, our thoughts, and our imagination? How does feeling connected in other ways in our life help us connect to our intuition? How can we use intuition as a tool for the parts of our life that we can’t control? How can we learn to trust intuition and validate our choices?SUBSCRIBE, RATE & REVIEW! Greeting Rainbow Warriors How's everybody doing?? I know it’s been a while since I’ve published an episode and I am so grateful for your patience. I am coming to you today from the south of France where I’m currently just north of the magical and powerful Pyrenees and just about wrapping this round of my pilgrimage to Mary Magdalene. As I’ve dived into her teachings I’m learning that I have been teaching many of the same things, and it’s blowing my mind. I feel a strong resonance with her story and her energy. I hope you’re following my instagram account where I’ve been sharing lots on my feed and my daily stories about the journey and all the sacred sites I’ve visited. Check that out at @visionary_lifestyle_guide. Guys this pilgrimage to the Divine Feminine has been life-changing. I’m finally understanding why I’ve been called to Paris and the south of France for over 3 decades. I’ve discovered that Mary Magdalene spent a significant part of her life here in France, and that Paris is actually named for the Goddess Isis, and that Mary Magdalene was trained as a priestess in the temple of Isis. It’s said that beneath Notre Dame, in the very heart and center of Paris, is a temple of Isis. Check the name guys:Paris-par isis. This is why it’s so significant that Notre Dame burned recently. This event can be interpreted as a literal blowing off the roof of the patriarchy that has been dominating most religions and the world for the last 2000 years. The time of the Divine Feminine is upon us. Women are rising up like never before to claim their place in the world and deliver their gifts in service to Mother Earth and all her creatures. THIS is the shakti force that is turning the tides here on planet earth right now. I am writing about this a lot so you will be the first to know when my two books are ready. And stay tuned for my upcoming season on Shakti Power, with interviews with some of the most intriguing female leaders and activists of our time. The Dalai Lama has said that the western woman will save the world, and I’m bringing you some stellar examples of these women who are living their lives in service to the greater good. And this my beloveds, is what brings me to today's guest, as she, is one of these women. Amisha Ghadiali, is an award-winning social entrepreneur whose career has included demanding roles in the political, sustainability and tech start-up worlds. She has combined managing a high pressure lifestyle with her deep knowledge of sustainable living, mindfulness and yoga. Her knowledge and experience in different industries makes it easy for her to connect to your daily world and bring that extra illumination which makes it all flow. Her own “burn out” whilst “trying to save the world” led her into training as a yoga and meditation teacher, which in turn opened a giant rabbit hole deeper into the mystical realms. In addition to over 1000 hours of teacher training in Yoga & Meditation, she has trained as a priestess, reiki master and intuitive energy healer. She brings all this depth and her fascination with the relationship of our inner and outer worlds, to her work. Amisha is a writer and speaker on all aspects of conscious and green living. She edited the collaborative book, The Future Is Beautiful – A Collection from Think Act Vote, coining the term Creative Activism and bringing together ideas and artwork from over two hundred contributors to inspire a brighter future. Amisha is like a rainbow, like me, with loads of interests and projects happening all at once. I met her at Bali Spirit Festival a couple of years ago now, and continue to watch her from afar as she makes valuable contributions to the collective. Greeting beloved rainbow warriors, earth lovers and sacred activists.I’m coming to you today from beautiful Bali. I thought this interview would be the perfect compliment to earth day week. And can we just talk about earth day for a minute? That’s EVERY DAY, right guys? But officially this is the 10th anniversary of Mother earth day, according to the UN. The Resolution was introduced in 2009 by Bolivia and endorsed by over 50 member states. The term Mother Earth is used because it "reflects the interdependence that exists among human beings, other living species and the planet we all inhabit" Can I get an amen!? So in celebration of so much of the world paying attention to this life or death reality, I thought it good to focus on Yoga for the earth today. If you’ve been listening to the show for any amount of time, you know that I’m passionate about the environment and yoga, so what do you expect haha. ‘Now before I get to todays guest, I want to share a recent itunes review with you. Gina says”Magda is fabulous. Her podcast is so comprehensive of all things yogi, visionary activism etc. She interviews some INCREDIBLE people from all over the world and I am lucky to have found her work and learn from her.If you’re looking to learn something new or enhance what you already know, definitely listen. It’s my transportation listening go-to. Thank you Gina, I’m thrilled you’re getting so much value here. And to the rest of you, please write tour itunes review so I can share that on the show, and let’s get all people listening and awakening to the power of the yogic path to create positive change here on our beloved Mother Earth. And one more thing my nature-loving peeps, I’m offering a yoga retreat in the south of France this August 2-9 where we’ll be doing yoga on the earth daily, among chateaus and sunflowers guys. No joke. This is the retreat of my dreams and it’s going to be a small group so if this calls you find all the info on my facebook page Visionary LIfestyle and Podcast or search the word sunflowers on my website at visionary-lifestyle.com Ok! On to todays show and my favorite topic…...yoga for nature! Philip Dickenson is an award winning producer/director who walked away from the TV industry to be an active humanitarian and environmentalist. In 2015 he created Yoga For Nature a non profit with the intention to inspire the global Yoga community to establish a new era of peace and love in the world. Phil is also the founder of newly launched Forest Smoothie, the world’s first Café Conservation Project. You’ll hear in the interview how I came across Phil's work at Bali Spirit Festival. In this interview, Phil shares his personal journey to becoming a true yogi, or “a yogi all the time” as he puts it. This is a heartwarming story of one man’s journey of aligning his life with his values. He’s on a mission to raise awareness about the need for social change in regards to environmental, animal and human rights. One avenue for this is Yoga for Natures attempt to turn yoga studios into hubs for social change. Phil has created an Invitation to the global yoga community to take their practice off the mat. Some of his merchandise includes slogans like My asana is vegan and Yoga can change the world. So this is an opportunity for you to get involved by suggesting the studio you practice at to dedicate a class to Yoga for Nature. Or, if you’re s studio owner, you have the power to help your clientele get more engaged in true yoga by raising awareness about these issues and taking action . His latest project is the forest smoothie, which plants a tree for every superfood smoothie sold. If you’re in the restaurant biz or frequenting conscious restaurants, this is an invitation for you to spread the word, make a difference and earn a bunch of good karma points while you’re at it.. I hope this interview sparks your activist heart and inspires you to take some action on behalf of Mother earth, the animals and the humans we share her with. Greetings from Bali my beloved rainbow warriors!I am still in post Bali Spirit bliss and have recovered from the sleep deprivation and massive influx of love into my heart by connecting with new and old friends and soaking up loads of new wisdom and skills. Her passion connects people to their own joyful potential. Born in Ecuador, proud of her Italian heritage and raised as a world traveler, Silvia developed a sense of global citizenship early on. A serial Yogapreneur, Silvia had a 13 year Human Resource career, owned 2 Yoga Studios for 10 years with over 9,000 students, founded Alchemy Tours, a Spiritual Adventure company and developed the 13 year old international Alchemy of Yoga Teacher Training School with 23 graduating classes of Love Alchemists. (in short they teach yoga in the hood) YNDH is one of the fastest growing non profits in Dallas, translating how wellness is implemented across cultural and social economic barriers. She went from getting fired from every job she’d ever had, an alcoholic, misfit; to traveling the world teaching yoga and mindfulness and inspiring others to be the greatest versions of themselves. Contracted by Wanderlust, United Way Dallas, Texas Women College, Paul Quinn College, City of Dallas, DISD and other major corporation and institutions to motivate and inspire students, staff, human beings to be the greatest version of themselves. From her website Ebony says: I am a soul that continues to flourish through all, I am the flower in the concrete, the bloom in the dead of winter. I am truly your reflection. Changing my thoughts changed my life and continues to everyday in every moment in and out of time. It is a powerful tool for living the greatest version of your life. These tools and strategies are taught, not birth given, allow me the honor of creating a space for growth and well being for you and yours. Our guest for this week is Layla El Khadri, a transformational coach, author, artist, inspirational speaker, and dance therapist with the goal of inspiring humanity to wake up and rise.Born and raised in Spain, Layla grew up in a family which supported personal development and spirituality. Having been told from an early age that she had immense potential, she had great success in her initial education in the fields of acting, music, and media film. But dealing with the pressure to succeed on one end, and the fear of being stuck in a 9 to 5 job on the other, Layla left her old life to find the new one in a totally fresh and exciting setting. She was determined to realize her full human potential, but in a way that made sense to her.Now with over a decade of studying personal development, Layla is helping others reach their potential through one-on-one sessions, coaching programs, and retreats and events being held in some of the worlds most beautiful places. She uses an amalgamation of different ancient traditions and cutting edge therapies, all wonderfully merged into her very own technique with which she enables people to discover their gift. She has studied meditation, tantra, yoga, somatic dance, NLP, the biology of empowerment and she has a passion for Taoistic philosophy and traditional Chinese medicine.Layla will be the part of this year’s Bali Spirit Festival which is going to be held from 24th-31th of March, 2019. She will be teaching 4 workshops on the subjects of personal development, transformational dance, art as medicine and life coaching. You can get your tickets here, and use the discount code LAYLA to get $75 off!She has written and directed an amazing short film that was released back in September 2018. The film is called ‘RISE of The Feminine’ and it is a truly inspirational work of art, which calls for a planetary revolution and inspires a movement of human awakening.Connect with Layla:Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/laylaelkhadri.ie/Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/laylaelkhadri/YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC9szbPTk1mAtdoulDtLDdFgLinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/layla-el-khadri/Website: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ClugMhMbrRgLayla’s Story of Inspired EvolutionLayla was born in Spain and she grew up as part of a loving and caring family. Early on she was told she had “immense potential” and even though she managed to draw confidence from the phrase throughout her life, she found herself pressured to succeed and the unruly series of side-effects followed.“All the gifts and all these qualities that I was given became a burden because they were being seen through the lens of expectation.” - Layla El KhadriThere she was, studying film, music, dance, being involved with amazing projects and all the while still showing great potential, but behind the general hope for creativity, she noticed that the main focus of her work was achieving certain goals, rather than what she actually yearned for - self-expression. At 21 she finished her studies and on paper, her life looked perfect and on track but Layla was emotionally drained and burnt out from living a life of consistent setting and achieving milestones.“I was empty, disconnected, lost, dealing with rampant anorexia that was at times pretty bad… and flirting with depression in a way that could’ve gone down in a really bad direction.” - Layla El KhadriFollowing her mother’s advice, Layla joined a peace community in Portugal and she decided to take a 10-day vow of silence, with a goal of shedding the wishes and voices of others while trying to find her own inner voice.“I understood that in order for me to be able to live the life that I was wanting, I really needed to listen to myself.” - Layla El KhadriWhat was supposed to be a 6-month soul-searching period turned into 8 years of a different life, one that is away from the industry of the west. On this path, she was rid of all the anxieties, the pressures, and the expectations, while reaching an epiphany in regards to the importance of the uniqueness of the individual human experience.“Each one of us is a unique creature and each one of us brings something unique to the world. And if I don’t take the responsibility to bring my uniqueness to the world, the world misses my uniqueness and nobody else ever, ever again will be able to bring what I bring.” - Layla El KhadriOn her journey, she explored Taoistic philosophy, studied tantra and somatic therapy, and practiced meditation and yoga. She is currently focused on using her experience, skills, and wisdom to empower others to discover the gift within themselves and realize their full potential.Discovering the Inner Wisdom: Awakening the Creator“Everything that each one of us is seeking for in this life is already within. And it’s not a matter of going to acquire new information as much as learning how to activate the inner wisdom.” - Layla El KhadriHer coaching experiences have provided Layla with great insight into the human personal development process. She notices that within all of us is a “deep desire to create a life of happiness, joy, fulfillment, connection, integrity…” but she believes that the key confounding variable is the desire for creation. We are born with a certain capacity and drive to be creators, and yet, through our upbringing, we distance ourselves from this aspect of our being and push it further down, giving away our sovereignty. According to Layla, the answer is reconnecting with this inner power and rediscovering that forgotten part of ourselves.“That’s why I call my work the bridge between mindset and embodiment. Because mindset is the part of us that understands… But it’s not until we embody it… it’s not until we breathe art, breathing inspiration and breathe out creation, that we can actually create that reality.” - Layla El KhadriArt as Medicine and Fertilizer of Transformation“If there is something in this world that bypasses cognitive dissonance… the incapability of our brains to accept or process information that contradicts our pattern, that wall… is easily bypassed and powerfully bypassed by art.” - Layla El KhadriLayla’s teachings focus heavily on art and the creative process and utilize it in such a way that it becomes a transformational tool and enables personal development. Using the analogy of a sculptor making beauty and elegance from something that is so raw, dirty and unappealing like clay, she brings us closer to the understanding of the process of transformation. By using creativity and the artistic process we are allowed to take our issues and adversities and mold them into the life we want for ourselves, turning it into something to be looked upon with awe and understood as a monument to and for inspiration.“Take something that looks like a big, fat problem into a beautiful sculpture.” - Layla El KhadriLayla’s Message of Inspired EvolutionThroughout the conversation, Layla shares her most personal thoughts and experiences in order to brilliantly pinpoint the main factors, those that are either helping or hurting us on the road to personal development. She provides us with precise advice and direct instructions for living a fulfilled life of happiness and joy, the essence of which reflected n the sentence:“The moment that you reconnect with the creator inside yourself, everything else will align.” - Layla El Khadri See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.

My panchakarma retreat in Rishikesh, India is coming up in March, and I’m launching a video series in my facebook group later this month to talk about all this Ayurveda business too. I know I said I was going to take a break until I got to India, but inspiration struck! I found myself spending Thanksgiving weekend with the gem of spirit in human form known as Laura Fredrickson. It occured to me that since she has such a profound teaching about GRATITUDE it made timely and perfect sense to interview her about it to highlight the all important concept of being radically grateful, and how it can be a force for creating more wealth in all areas of our lives. We recorded this live on my facebook page as well so you can go there to in the archived video and lay your eyes on us too if you would like! Laura Fredrickson is a Prosperity Priestess, she initiates and empowers women to claim and create the lives they deserve. For the last 18 years Laura has been devoted to guiding people to know their Self worth beyond their Net Worth and to liberate themselves from stress and powerlessness to create the lives of what she calls a Fulfillionaire. ~ which is an experience that is based in personal fulfillment, financial empowerment and emotional well being. She is the Founder of the Institute of True Wealth ~ an online membership community of Fulfillionaires committed to creating a life of true wealth. I know you are going to grain some deep insights and practical tools in this episode, so get out your notebooks! Remember the 5 koshas, or sheaths or bodies-in yogic anatomy? Well today Laura is offering you tools to cleanse, balance and activate your manomaya kosha, the mental body. This is powerful stuff my beloved warriors. I urge you to use these tools We all need more of this! Make sure to check out her websitewww.LauraFredrickson.com and her just launched home study course. Greetings Rainbow Warriors, I’m coming to you today from Bali, Indonesia. It’s amazing to be here eating the nourishing tropical fruits, watching sunsets on the beach, and connecting with so many activated rainbow warriors here. Bali really is one of those activated places on the planet, no question. Some say it’s the best place in the world to do healing work, and I believe that. Everything about being here feels nourishing to me. If you haven’t listened to my episodes recorded here at the Bai SPirit Festival, go back and listen to those shows. They’ll give you a real taste of what it’s like to be on the ground here. And coming up after this season from India will be another season of the Bali Spirit Festival, so stay tuned for that. In fact, the last time I saw our guest, was exactly there, even though I met her in Rishikesh India. Our guest today is Pravbavati Dwabha. Dwabha, as she’s called, is an icon of the Rishikesh community. I used to see her around and wonder who she was. She definitely makes an impression. Before we met, each time I saw her I noticed that she seemed to be well known and respected, and as it turned out, she is the force behind this amazing charity I kept hearing about, know as Ramana's Garden. Dwabha has an amazing story and is the embodiment of a karma yogi, living her purpose, taking action to help others. And not just any others, but the poorest of the poor children. Each child that comes through the gate there, arrives because they would be at risk of either being murdered, forced into prostitution, child labor, begging, starvation or total neglect Dwabha is an inspiration to many, and I have no question, has not only dramatically improved, but also saved the lives of many many children. What she has created with her organic farms, cafe and school, is a testament to her huge compassionate heart, and provides a template, for the difference one person can make, when they follow their inspiration and put it into ACTION. Karma yoga is the yoga of selfless action, actions associated with being of benefit to others. This is SEVA, the act of being in service. If this is a novel concept to you, please go back and listen to the first episode of this podcast, where I guide you through the 7 steps of activating your highest potential, because seva, is one of them. As yogis, and as humans on this earth, it is our responsibility to take of ourselves, so we can take care of each other, to make ourselves healthy so that we can be a beneficial presence on the planet. And our guest is a wonderful role model for this. As I see it, she is fully in her dharma, her purpose, and her actions, are an inspiration. She is a busy woman and I was lucky to get her alone to ask her how it all began and where it’s going in the future. Please do check out the website, and lend your support to this very worthy project. And if you find yourself in Rishikesh, don’t miss the chance to go visit Ramana’s garden. Your heart will be blown wide open, I promise. And watch my instagram feeds for some pics of Ramana’s garden, taken the same day as we did this interview. Namaste Rainbow Warriors! I’m coming to you today from Bali, Indonesia. I’ve discovered that landing in Bali direct from india is a great traveling strategy. Everything feels more clean and comfy here. In India I was kind of roughing it. Of course I’m madly in love with India, and I believe it’s an important journey for everyone to spend time there, it certainly is for me, and I haven’t even scratched the surface there, but Bali is an entirely different vibe. And there’s better wifi haha. The culture here is still hindu, but a different kind than you see in India. This culture is steeped in ceremony for everything in the world. They literally have a ceremony for everything, and it’s amazing to be in a place that holds so much reverence for everything under the sun. Yesterday was a ceremony for all things metal, like cars and machines, and I hear there’s one for trees coming up soon. How cool is that?! I love the high energy of sacred community here. In the couple days ‘ve been here I’ve been running into old and dear friends that I didn’t expect to see, and that always feels magical. The air is hot and moist, everything is bright green, the prana is just palpable here. SO much life force energy! Tomorrow the Bali Spirit Festival will begin and I’ll be on a week long love fest yoga train. I’m looking forward to recording a new season of interviews for you here with the international speakers and teachers from the festival, and keep this podcast rolling as a source of inspiration and empowerment for you! So now let’s get to today’s episode. Our guest today is Jonny Rose. Jonny is a 700 hour yoga alliance certified teacher, that’s a lot of training folks! He is part of the core teaching team at The Sanctuary Thailand where he’s been teaching since 2014. After discovering yoga in Byron Bay in 2002 it has been happily taking over Jonny's life. He tries to do justice to all his amazing teachers in every class he leads, for the amazing effects they had on his life. He believes that dancing is a basic human need, and has a light hearted approach and a wicked sense of humor. I met Jonny in Ko Phangan ,Thailand, on the advise of a common friend who said he’d ”make a great” interview, and that he did. Jonny lives most of his life in an absolute paradise on a small bay of turquiose water on this island in southern Thailand, surrounded by jungle and yoga. I enjoyed a couple of his classes there, and love his “don’t take yourself too seriously”approach. In this interview we took a deep dive into the 8 limbs of yoga, and especially the yamas and the niyamas. Jonny’s explanation of these foundational yogic principles was straight to the point and enlightening. Jonny really breaks down the 8 limbs of yoga in a way you may not have heard before. I hope you learn something here and get inspired to deepen your practice of true yoga . As usual check out the show notes for links to Jonny and things we talked about in the show, on my website at visionary-lifestyle.com/podcast you’ll find my special media links there too so you can keep in touch and follow my behind the scenes stories that lead to these shows…. See you next week. Enjoy and namaste “It’s really yama and niyama that provide a blueprint for you before you even start the asana practice.” Jonny Rose #patanjali #8limbs #itsallyoga #thailand #thesanctuary www.thesanctuarythailand.com

Welcome to year two of the Visionary Lifestyle Podcast!I thank you for your patience for the launch of this second year, I had a couple little delays as I’m traveling in India, I’ve been busy with the International Yoga Festival, wifi is an ongoing issue, I’ve had some technical issues with my phone, as well as my computer. I actually recorded this intro days ago but my computer froze before I could save it and then my wifi went down ha. There are challenges to this digital nomad thing when travelling in 3rd world countries and it’s taken me some time to accept that but thankfully ,I’m finally getting this out to you. I’m currently in Risihikesh, India. I attended the International Yoga festival where it was like a big reunion. I saw a lot of the yoga teachers I interviewed during the festival last year, and I see this family growing and strengthening. I’m considering bringing a group of yogis with me here next year, shoot me an email if that interests you!~ This time of year draws the spiritual masters or “gurus” to Rishikesh. In fact the place is named Rishikesh because the great sages and rishis have been drawn here to the foothill of the Himalyas for eons. I’ve been attending satsangs, which is essentially a spiritual talk by a “guru”. There are loads of them here, with these spiritual masters coming from around the world and sharing their spiritual wisdom with their followers. If you’re not yet following my instagram check that out for some behind the scenes stories of what I’m up to and what’s coming up on the show. That’s @ visionary_lifestyle_guide. So here we go, this is the launch of year two of the podcast. There’s sooooo much in the pipeline for you that I just can’t wait to share! This year will start with season 5 which began in Thailand, continued in California and then went on to Europe. The following season 6 was recorded in Lisbon at the DNX Global Conference which is all about the digital nomad lifestyle I’ve been embracing for the last year. Or, as I like to call it, digitalyomad, as in yoga nomad. My new favorite hashtag is #yogaallovertheworld. yay!. If you’re interested in taking your work on the road and traveling more , you don’t want to miss those interviews with people who are living that lifestyle now. And I’m recording season 7 now in India, and will continue on back to Bali again for the Bali Spirit Festival again this year. I just returned from Navdanya, Vanadana Shivas organic farm in rural India and was fortunate enough to interview her about her activism and what conscious eating looks like for her today. She touts saving the seeds and our food system as the answer to climate change and improving health and food security for all sentient beings. She is truly my shero and interviewing her was a true honor. I took an eco feminism course and toured herfarm which was incredibly inspiring to see. Check my instagram to see pics from that trip. The best part was the seed bank where they’re storehousing organic and heirloom seeds. Did you know that Monsanto now owns over 90% of the seeds on our planet? That means this giant poison company control our food system guys. Vanadana Shiva is their biggest enemy, and working on the daily to ensure that we the people have safe and abundant food. So make sure you watch for her episode in season 7. I’m so excited to see what unfolds with the podcast this year. I’ve made countless valuable friendships with the people I interviewed last year, brought you what I hope are inspiring and empowering content through those interviews, and look forward to so many more. Have you listened to my episodes from the last year? If you’re new to the podcast I invite you to go back and look through and listen to the ones that call you. And it’s also a good idea to go back to episode #1 in order to get my take on what we’re focusing on here, and what’s really important in the Visionary Lifestyle. If you’re wondering why I always address you as Rainbow Warriors, I explain that there too. This is an ongoing and open invitation for YOU to join our tribe and participate in activating your highest potential. Ok so next I’m going to play a short piece I recorded at the beatles ashram here in Rishikesh on a very special day, and then coming up next will be Season 5, starting with my interview with the digital nomad founders of the DNX Global Movement which we recorded in Thailand. If there are people or topics you’d like me to cover, send me an email and share your thoughts. If you’ve enjoyed the show it’s never too late to write us a review on itunes, and as always, I love hearing from you so just drop me an eMail to: guide@visionary-lifestyle.com Enjoy and Namaste
Dear beloved community, my rainbow warriors! This is a very special episode because it marks our 1 year anniversary! I can’t believe it’s been a year since I launched this show! It’s been quite the journey producing over 55 episodes for you while I travel the world. It has been a wonderful creative birthing experience, to say the least. I’m back in India now, where it all began last February, when I managed to launch this baby with minimal technical experience, not to mention wifi , and constant power outages in India. It’s nothing short of a miracle that I got these episodes out at times. I remember sitting in a cafe in Rishikesh this time last year, trying to find enough wifi to watch a 3 minute youtube tutorial on how to tag my episodes. A year later I am happy to report that I have literally circled the globe , interviewing loads of inspiring teachers, new thought leaders, healers, health experts, conscious musicians and yogis galore, all doing their part to uplift consciousness and create more unity, also known as yoga. Did you catch that? The word yoga, means union. That, is in essence what this show is all about. How can we create more union? Union of ourselves with the Divine, union of ourselves to one another, union of all people with this glorious planet we call Mother Earth, and union of all life with all life. This, is what yoga means to me. Now Tribe, I am floored and humbled to know that we have listeners in over 40 countries, say whaaaaaat?! Massive love and shout outs to my listeners in : US Australia Ireland UK Sweden Canada Japan Germany Morocco Denmark Norway Phillppines India Spain New Zealand Netherlands Mexico Switzerland Austria Indonesia France Bahamas Turkey Nicaragua Qatar South Africa Belgium Israel United Arab Emirates Argentina Portugal Guatemala Panama Mauritius Finland Fiji Italy South Africa Brazil Romania It’s really inspiring to me to do this 1 year recap and study the statistics and see just how far this visionary message is reaching! Wow! Thank you for listening to and sharing the show! If you’ve been listening to the show for a while you’ve learned that yoga is much more than moving your body into special positions. Yoga is a lifestyle, and a way of being. It’s a conscious path, that has the potential to enrich your life in ways you can’t imagine. It has the power to bring you not only a healthy fit body, but also inner peace, a deeper sense of self and maybe even an enriched value system that supports the union I’ve been talking about. It’s a path for the courageous, because when you truly embark on it, your life really begins to change. You become, more conscious. I like to joke that yoga is the gateway drug to higher consciousness. It’s not something you have to try for, it’s just a natural evolution of your being that happens through the practice of yoga. More than even a path, yoga is a journey, deep into the self. Yoga says our suffering is caused by ignorance, ignorance of our true nature. There are some interviews on the show with teachers like Laura Plumb and Jules Febre, talking about the 8 limbs of yoga, and there are more of those conversations in the pipeline. Please pay attention to this, it is critical information. It’s really a big mission for me with the show for you to understand this. What we’re talking about here is TRUE yoga. As laid out by the great sage Patanjali, Yoga is like a tree, with 8 limbs. Each limb is joined to the others, balancing and strengthening them,as an integral part of a greater whole. The body of yoga grows by itself, spontaneously, when you practice it. And, there’s a reason yoga is called a practice. It requires your attention daily, and even minute to minute. I met a guy on the street here in Goa and invited him to one of my workshops I’m teaching. I asked” do you practice yoga?” his response was perfect” Yoga, constantly, asana, sometimes” It’s much broader and deeper than just the physical practice of stretching, moving and balancing your body into different postures. True yoga is not just “jumping and pumping” yoga as VishveJi says in my interview with him, it’s not just about fitness. The physical postures in yoga, the asana, which is by the way the 3rd limb of yoga, does help keep the body clean and fit, for the purpose of, not vanity, but for us to be healthy, pain and disease free so we can do the work we came here to do, to deliver our unique gifts without distraction of a sick or weak body. Yoga is a way of being in the world. In my interview with Katchi Ananda, she says Yoga is a prayer in the body, and I couldn’t agree more. Vijay Gopala reminds us that presence is the most important aspect we can bring to our practice. Eoin Finn reminded us that we are nature, and the more we blur the lines between nature and us, the happier we can be. Seriously when I relisten to these interviews as I edit them, I gain so much wisdom from these knowledgeable teachers. In some cases it’s been 6 months since I did an interview when I come to edit it, and I’m amazed at the depth of the wisdom being shared, that I may not have been able to fully grasp in the moment. I find myself listening to the interviews multiple times, and taking notes, because they’re s just so much value to absorb. So consider this. The first limb of yoga is the yamas, or ways of being in the world. The first 3 tenants in that first limb are ahimsa (nonviolence or doing the least harm), then we have satya,(truth or sometimes translated as impeccability in thought speech and action) and asteya (integrity, which can be interpreted as not stealing, or not laying claim to anything that is not ours). That can be something as simple as hogging a conversation and “stealing”someone’s time for your own egoic need to talk talk talk. Like Sadvhiji said in my interview with her, if people followed just those first three tenants, imagine the world we would live in. Can we consider this for a moment?Non violence, truth and integrity... So this leads me to share with you that, as I see it, yoga has the potential to literally save the world. If people got on board with these values, and did the physical asana practice to keep themselves well, and pranayama , the fourth limb, to keep themselves clean physically and balanced mentally, we would automatically gain the other limbs which culminate in the 8th limb, known as samadhi, or enlightened bliss. Last year at the International Yoga Festival in Rishikesh where I recorded the second season of the show, and where I am headed again in the coming weeks, The prime minister of India , Mr. Modi, skyped in with a message. Mind you this was very soon after Donald Trump was inagurated as the president in the US, and the contrast between these two men couldn’t be more stark. Modi , who does an hour of yoga every morning at 5am, spoke about how and why yoga is essential for people to practice. That it is and can be the solution our world so desperately needs. It is, the path to union for all beings.” So to recap the first year of the show. Season 1 was recorded in California before I started my world tour, with brilliant guests sharing about healing, yoga, conscious media, yogic philosophy and tons more. That was followed by a season in India at the International Yoga Festival, 2 full seasons in Bali, one at the Bali SPirit Festival and another at the New Earth Festival, and now coming up next is season 5 recorded in Thailand, California, New York and Paris! This has truly become a worldwide heart expression of the Visionary LIfestyle message. Turns out, there are people all over the world interested in being the change. Bravo my rainbow warriors, bravo. So I thought I’d share with you about some of my takeaways from a year of traveling the world. First one, Just when you think you have things figured out, another plot twist unfolds The only constant is change Go with the flow has taken on a new meaning Calling this Magda’s magical mystery tour couldn’t have been a better name, ha. Have you seen that hashtag on instagram? #magdasmagicalmysterytour One of the most challenging things has been Learning to go with the flow with ease and grace. You can’t get attached to anything, or anyone. I said at the beginning of 2018 that my word this year was going to be “allow”. That means I intend to allow the things meant to me to come to me, without chasing them or really even trying to “manifest”. The other side of course is allowing the things not meant for me to fall away with ease and grace as well. To loosen my grip when something I find myself attached to decides to leave. God knows I’m getting lots of practice in these arenas. Another Big takeaway is that :Everything is energy. I feel I’ve come to understand this on a deeper level than ever before. My interview with Michael Tellinger goes a bit deeper into this. The most important aspect of any relationship, decision, business deal, anything, is energetic resonance. I’ve certainly had some lessons lately that remind me to trust my intuition, because when I don’t, it always comes around to bite me in the ass. If you didn’t catch the announcement I made at new years, know that I’m recording notes on all my adventures and beginning to put them into a book. I’ve decided to write two books this year actually. The first is the Visionary Lifestyle Guide to Activating Your Highest Potential, so a guidebook really, detailing the 7 steps that make for a healthy and fulfilling life. The second is one about my travels and what I’ve learned along the way. I’m coming up on my 50th birthday in just over a year from now, and I’d like to think I’ve accumulated some wisdom worth sharing, so stay tuned for that. I’m embracing my silver streaks in my hair, and choosing to regard my aging as a beautiful unfoldment of a sage wise woman. My intention is the have both books out by my 50th birthday-wish me luck…. I want to give a shout out to some of my top patrons on Patreon, Johann Urb, Michelle Dohrn and Kim Debus you’ve been absolute champions and I thank you. David Byrne you are my top angel again and again, and this content would not have been produced without your generous support. I’m so excited for another year of bringing you life altering tools and content to help activate your highest potential. If there’s anything or anyone in particular you want more of , shoot me an email and let me know! Send that to guide@visionary-lifestyle.com My intention here is to be of service, To be of service to your highest potential that once activated, will automatically make the world a better place. Your effort and willingness to put in the time to listen to these conversations , get inspired, and do the practices is the most important thing you can do for yourself, and the world. One of my favorite and guiding quotes is from Lao Tzu, the author of the Tao de Ching. He says: If you want to awaken all of humanity, then awaken all of yourself. If you want to eliminate the suffering in the world, then eliminate all that is dark and negative in yourself. Truly, the greatest gift you have to give is that of your own self-transformation. So with that inspiring quote, I want to leave you today with a share of a song that has been guiding my way all around the world. This is a gift from a soul sister back in Ojai, CAlifornia named Shylah ray SUnshine. The first time I hear her voice many years ago, her music moved me so deeply. Her music has been my constant companion as I make my way through the world, and this song in particular has gotten me through some week moments. If I’m ever feeling low or week, this song is sure to remind me of the Truth, the Truth that sometimes gets buried or hidden under the weight of the world otr my own mental garbage. If you’re driving, turn up the volume, if you’re at home, I invite you to stop what you’re doing, and maybe even put some headphones on, and give this your full attention. Allow the lyrics to dive deep into the cells of your being, and remind you of what’s important, to bring YOU back to center. To empower you with the Truth, with a capital T. You are so powerful tribe, please remember that. Your presence and your choices and your vibration carry so much power. May we all continue to be the change we wish to see in the world. May we all continue on our paths of self-transformation. I wish you so much love and light on your personal journey. I’ll be back next week with the first episode of season 5, recorded in Thailand. There will be links to everything talked about in this episode, including to Shylah’s music so you can download this yourself in the show notes. You can find those on my website at visionary-lifestyle.com/podcast This song is called Existence….enjoy and namaste Shylahraysunshine.com

I’m inspired by the depth of his wisdom and his gentle approach to sharing it. This is a great episode for yoga teachers and practitioners to listen to because it’s full of yogic philosophy and enlightened perspectives about what yoga is and how it helps us to become more harmonious people in the world. We cover a wide range of topics in this interview, and I took a lot of notes re-listening to it. I learn right along with you guys during these interviews. We go deep on samskaras, yogic anatomy, ahimsa, presence, how yogis eat, the 8 limbs of yoga according to Patanjali, and even yogic advice for parents. You don’t want to miss this one, and you may just want to take notes. I’m putting a bunch of his great nuggets of wisdom in the show notes so make sure to check that out, and I’m including a link to the version of Patanjali’s yoga sutras that I’m carrying around the world with me. If you remove the imprints you can express harmony.” “We practice yoga to burn the samskaras” “Actually there are no styles of yoga. Yoga is yoga.” “Try to be nothing, then you are everything” “Quality of life is determined by your amount of presence” “Do your actions match your intentions?” “If you”re a yoga practitioner eating meat is not possible” “Yoga will not happen by force” “If you know how to do the practice of yoga, it’s not a big thing to reach samadhi” #ahimsa #Life Skills #satvicfood #patanjali #8limbs

Our guest today is Aleks Glitzeric. Aleks is a theta healer, a yoga instructor, a conscious eater and an empowerment powerhouse. She travels the world hosting empowerment workshops and pop up brunches, and teaching empowerment yoga. She asks on her website” If you'd be radically honest to yourself today, what would you allow yourself to see?” I caught up with Aleks at The Bali Spirit Festival where I attended her theta healing workshop. We sat down in a lush butterfly filled jungle to have a sweet conversation about consciousness, the environment, and theta healing as a way to heal limiting beliefs and negative patterns. Make sure to check the show notes to find her website and social media channels, she has loads of great videos on youtube and is really active on instagram so you can connect with her there. Our guest today is Eoin Finn. Eoin Finn is a yogi, surfer and blissologist from Vancouver, BC. A philosophy graduate, he has been deepening his understanding of Meditation, Yoga and Eastern Philosophy since 1989. In the mid-nineties he moved to Maui and learned Ashtanga and Power Yoga and later Vinjana Yoga. He’s been teaching yoga for 18 years. Eoin is a karma yogi with a deep passion for the oceans, and a connection and reverence for nature, that is truly inspiring. His yoga teacher trainings generally include a lot of education about the environment, as well as hands on projects to help clean and protect it. His Ecokarma program is replacing endangered coral in Key Largo Florida and beyond. Eion says “Karma is the offering of unselfish service – our offering to the world. I want us to connect our love for ecology with both the physical yoga practice and selfless service of Karma yoga. “ I caught up with Eion at the Bali Spirit Festival and we dropped in about the state of the oceans, the effects of overfishing and carbon on the oceans, and what it means to be a karma yogi. He shares his love for nature, explains his main goal in life and guides us on his path of Blissology. If you go back to my first episode and listen to the “7 steps of activating your highest potential” show , you’ll see that Eion really speaks to one of my points, which is seva, or being in service, sometimes known as karma yoga. I’m really impressed with Eion’s dedication to educating and inspiring people to pay attention to what’ happening to the oceans, and empowering them to find their own inner power and voice to be the change we want to see in the world. Take a listen and let me know thoughts. I’m always happy to receive emails from you guys. Just drop me a line on visionary-lifetsyle.com As usual, there are links to the books mentioned as well as links to Eion’s work, in the show notes which you’ll find on visionary-lifetsyle.com/podcast I hope you enjoy the show…. Our guest today is Katchie Ananda. Katchie is an international Yoga and Dharma teacher whose life’s work has been to explore the practices of yoga and dharma and share their path to freedom with others. She has well over 10,000 teaching hours, spanning nearly 30 years as a full-time practitioner and trainer and she has developed numerous approaches to wisdom in body, mind and heart. Her eclectic background includes certifications in Anusara, Jivamukti, Integral, Ashtanga Yoga by Richard Freeman and many years of practice with Buddhist teacher and author Jack Kornfield. At one point, Katchie was the co-founder/director of Yoga Sangha, a studio in San Francisco’s Mission district, dedicated to Yoga and Dharma. Under Katchie’s guidance, Yoga Sangha became a much beloved community center and attracted students who shared a concern for social justice and equality. In 2007 Katchie launched the powerful Spiritual Activation Series, a forum through which the yoga community could connect with well-known authors and activists such as John Robbins, Jack Kornfield and Julia Butterfly Hill. The goal of the series was to raise awareness about human and animal rights, the environment, social justice, and highlight the interconnectedness of Yoga and Dharma. In this same spirit, Katchie volunteered for many years at San Quentin, teaching yoga and Dharma to long-term inmates. Her leadership and example in yoga and social change prompted Yoga Journal to name Katchie one of five top yoga teachers making change in the world. It was a rare treat to catch her in Bali because she doesn’t teach much at festivals or in small classes these days. I sat with her after taking two of her classes at the Bali Spirit Festival, because I was so impressed with her vast wisdom and open hearted teaching style. In our interview Katchi talks about her journey and passion as a yoga teacher for nearly 30 years. We discuss the value of a solo home practice, expressing the elements through your practice. And how practicing yoga helps you trust your own inner authority, and can make the world a better place. Check the show notes to find Katchie’s schedule, links to her book, and also her inspiring instagram account as well as soundcloud, which includes a large playlist of her yoga classes. I found her energy incredibly sincere, uplifting and inspirational. I hope you do too. I’m very excited to introduce today’s guest, Xavier Rudd. Since the very beginning, Xavier's ability to connect with people has been his most powerful gift. The more he has toured the world, the more hearts he has touched and the more of the world he has put back into his music. Showcasing an ability to play several instruments at once, and Drawing inspiration from his ancestors, his music is unique and powerful, with a quickly growing worldwide audience. His diverse and acclaimed career is going from strength to strength, with his message of global togetherness, acceptance and respect as well as his dynamic musical connection. He is quickly solidifying his place as one of Australia's greatest artists, activists and spirits. I first heard his music during a meditation weekend in Ojai, California a couple years ago, and it immediately had a profound effect on my heart. I’ve since added it into my yoga playlists and my students always ask me what that amazing song was….. Check the show notes and the second part of this show, to get a listen to that song…. Xavier and I connected in Bali where he was headlining the Bali Spirit Festival. We sat down just after the sound-check for his show, to discuss activism, yoga, and conscious eating, and Xavier explains why his music is an old woman. You’ll have to listen to the interview to understand that one….. We talk about his biggest concerns in the world, the focus of his activism now, and what he feels is necessary to turn things around for the better. As one might expect, I found him to be an awakened and present soul. I for one am so grateful for the way he is showing up in the world , using his voice and growing megaphone, to inspire the positive change that our planet so sorely needs now. Make sure to stay tuned for my upcoming interview with Eoin Finn for more details about Xavier’s biggest concern, and the potential solutions to solve it. I hope you enjoy it. Welcome to season 3 of the Visionary Liiestyle Podcast! I hope you enjoyed last season, and all those interviews I did in the Motherland of India. This season was all recorded on the island of Bali Indonesia. I’ve been hearing about Bali for years, and now I finally understand what the fuss is all about. Bali has a vibrant spiritual culture, and it seems like the whole island is one big heart chakra. Arriving there just after the rainy season, Everything was lush and green and felt so full of life force energy, or as we call it in yoga, prana. I was fortunate enough to attend the Bali Spirit Festival where I met and interviewed a lot of activated presenters. I spoke to yoga teachers, famous conscious musicians, healers, and the founders of the festival itself. You’ll hear the sounds of Bali in the background, and hopefully be inspired and empowered by these conversations. Our guest today is Jai-Jagdeesh. Jai is a Singer, Musician, Kundalini Yoga Teacher, Activist, and Change Maker The daughter of two kundalini yoga teachers, at age 6 she began attending boarding school in India. At that tender age of 6, she formed her first group and started performing music at school events. Over the years she studied photography, was trained in dance, trained to be a kundalini yoga teacher, and even sidetracked into the Hollywood scene with an urge to be an actress. But before too long she was led back to her true calling, using and expressing her voice through singing and composing music. Now she tours the world sharing her incredible voice and light at festivals and in concerts, and has released several albums. She brings awareness and presence to everything she does, and being the change is in her blood. She and her music have been hugely inspiring to me, and I was so happily surprised that she showed up at the Bali Spirit Festival. I got to see and listen to her perform live, which I highly recommend if you ever get the chance, I attended an “Authentic Voice” workshop she held, and gratefully, ultimately interviewed her for the show. We recorded this episode in the lobby of the festival, with a view of lush Bali in front of us. We had a long and deep conversation about so many things that matter. We discussed true yoga, what a mantra actually is, the numerology cycles of life, deep wisdom gained from lessons learned, and even Donald Trump and the state of the world. With tongue in cheek, she jokes about “getting her meds”, as in meditation. We talked about embracing the darkness in our lives, in order to appreciate the light. She shares one of her favorite books and believe it or not, she swears like a sailor. This episode is triple explicit so if you have small children around, please be aware. It’s unexpected from someone in her position, but as you’ll see in the interview, Jai is quite special. She’s a very old soul in a young woman’s body, with a fully activated inner child. You’ll see what I mean. It was a true thrill and honor for me to spend this intimate time with this highly gifted soul. As always, the show notes contain links to things we talk about and you can find that on the blog post at visionary-lifestyle.com I also assign you a homework, or heartwork, assignment toward the end of the show, and I’m going to make a separate episode to follow this one, so you can find it easily. I hope you do it, and I look forward to your feedback about how it helps to activate your highest potential. I hope you gain some insight and inspiration from this conversation. Thanks for listening.
