In this episode, we dive into the importance of creating a community within your Facebook group that people truly love and want to return to. Rather than just focusing on numbers and sales, we explore the deeper aspects of building a welcoming and engaging space.   To illustrate, I share personal experiences from my high school marching band days to highlight the impact of setting traditions and establishing a culture. This session aims to shift your perspective on how to approach cultivating a thriving and inviting community, which ultimately contributes to the group's long-term success.   From discussing community vibes, traditions, and long-term vision, we cover all the essentials for nurturing a space that feels like an extension of yourself and your brand.   Happy listening! This Power is the Gospel of Jesus Christ. SLIDE 3 – Overview Statement for our Series: “Westminster is a Reformed, Presbyterian, Evangelical, and Missional Church. We are Reformed in our Theology, Presbyterian in our Polity, Evangelical as a Community, and Missional in our Ministry.” SLIDE 4 – Point 1: The Gospel … Creates and Transforms a Particular People for God. SLIDE 5 – Romans 7:18, 21 – “For I know that nothing good dwells in me, that is, in my flesh. For I have the desire to do what is right, but not the ability to carry it out … So I find it to be a law that when I want to do right, evil lies close at hand.” SLIDE 6 – Romans 8:1-2 – “There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. For the law of the Spirit of life has set you free in Christ Jesus from the law of sin and death.” SLIDE 7 – Insert a Copy of Point #1 of Sermon SLIDE 8 – Romans 1:21-22 – “For although they knew God, they did not honor him as God or give thanks to him, but they became futile in their thinking, and their foolish hearts were darkened. Claiming to be wise, they became fools.” SLIDE 9 – Galatians 3:2-3 – “Let me ask you only this: Did you receive the Spirit by works of the law or by hearing with faith? Are you so foolish? Having begun by the Spirit, are you now being perfected by the flesh?” SLIDE 10 – Insert a Copy of Point #1 of Sermon SLIDE 11 – Conclusion: “As Evangelicals, we confess that the Gospel is the explosive and exclusive Power of God to effectively create God's People and to change God's People … into the very Image of Christ.” SLIDE 12 – Point 2: The Gospel … Sets Us Apart as a Peculiar Community to the World. SLIDE 13 – Conclusion: “While God's Gospel offends many, God uses the same Gospel to win many to Himself, who see the grace of God in the Cross and in us, who are being lifted up with Christ … as trophies of God's grace!” SLIDE 14 – Sermon Uses: Four to Help Us Grow in Our Church's Identity. SLIDE 15 – As Evangelicals … We Must Preach the Gospel to Unbelievers for their Conversion. SLIDE 16 – As Evangelicals … We Must Preach the Gospel to Ourselves for our Transformation. CC - Understanding Market Shifts: How a Direct Seller Can Thrive Amid Change

Organize 365 Podcast

I recently hosted this webinar for those of you who have been displaced by a direct sales company closing their doors or anyone else looking for a new opportunity. In my years of being a household manager, a profitable direct sales team leader, and now running Organize 365®, I realized how similar running a house and running a business are when it comes to the significance of systems. I know recently some direct sales companies have closed their doors or have announced they will soon. There are three ways I shop and I'm sure you do, too ... Amazon, an ad on social media recommends something, or a friend mentions a product and you order it. After Covid, we never really went back to shopping at the in-home parties. People seem to purchase directly from the company and it's collapsing the direct sales model. Revenue  I started in Mary Kay and then tried my hand, successfully I might add, in many other direct sales companies; twenty three to be exact! In talking to my teams, it became clear they weren't making much money and some weren't making any. You see, you are the direct sales company customer and your customers are your customers. They market to you the consultant with all the latest and greatest products. You stock up in hopes of sales that lots of times never happen. Then you are left with last season's products. I started teaching my teams how to be profitable. Profitability gets your spouse's “buy-in” and you get to keep doing the thing. I've explained a lot of Lisa Math or Economics to my teams, which I did in this episode too. Too much to fit in here; definitely give this a listen. You have to be profitable to call it work or a business. Not how much have you sold or what work activities you have completed. In whatever company has recently made announcements about closing their doors, were you profitable? This coffee chat is for the consultant that is displaced and wondering what's next? I want to say from the bottom of my heart, you are amazing. This is happening for you not to you! Second, get all the emails you can from your current clients. Get the last orders you can and continue to grow those relationships and your unique personal brand. We buy from people we like. Yes, they like the product, but they are buying from you because they like you. After the final days, just enjoy the holidays. Enjoy your family. You are going to be ok! I wanted to get this information out to help you understand the market shifts and how to make an informed decision on your next move. I'd love for you to consider gaining certification to be an organizer through Organize 365®.  What do you want?  End of the year may be the perfect time to attend a planning day and get a plan in action for 2025. If you were making money in the previous company, what were those funds going to? What are you willing to do to replace that income? Clean houses? Tutor? Think of what services you could offer for $40/hour. Once you know how much you need weekly or monthly, you can figure out how many hours or services you need to complete. And then you can start to focus on what you are uniquely created to do which may not be the products you were previously selling. You can explore all of that in Planning Day. Community  People feel lonely and isolated. We all want community and connection. This is something Organize 365® can readily provide. If you know you were uniquely created to help others get organized, please consider getting certified. This is not direct sales or multi-level marketing. It's a license you receive with affiliate commissions. We offer community through the app, others who are certified and our retreats. I loved the retreats and the women I was doing business alongside and I want that for people in Organize 365®, too.  In my opinion, hands down, community is the most difficult to grow or replace. Like minded people who resonate around one product and where you can authentically be yourself. You can grow your community in groups of people with the same interest as yourself, church, or maybe the parents of the kids on your child's sports team. I can't wait to hear what everyone does who is facing a new opportunity! Dislike of the moving process itself is definitely a factor, but it's not the only reason people stay put. Here are some of the bigger reasons: High Costs: Moving can be expensive, with rising housing costs making it difficult to find affordable options in a new location https://www.cbsnews.com/video/jobs-return-but-long-term-unemployed-still-left-behind/. Job Security: Two-income households and a less mobile job market make people hesitate to uproot their careers for a new opportunity https://www.cbsnews.com/video/jobs-return-but-long-term-unemployed-still-left-behind/. Roots and Community: People build connections in their communities over time. Community // People are MessyProverbs 14:4 NASB4 Where no oxen are, the manger is clean, But much revenue comes by the strength of the ox.1) WHY? - Why engage in community even when people are messy?Answer: The POWERMatthew 18:12-14 NASB12 “What do you think? If any man has a hundred sheep, and one of them has gone astray, does he not leave the ninety-nine on the mountains and go and search for the one that is straying? 13 If it turns out that he finds it, truly I say to you, he rejoices over it more than over the ninety-nine which have not gone astray.14 So it is not the will of your Father who is in heaven that one of these little ones perish.Ecclesiastes 4:9-12 NIV9 Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their labor: 10 If either of them falls down, one can help the other up. But pity anyone who falls and has no one to help them up. 11 Also, if two lie down together, they will keep warm. But how can one keep warm alone? 12 Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken.2) HOW? How can I really walk in community when people are messy?Answer: The Biblical PROCESSMatthew 18:15-17 NASB15 “If your brother sins, go and show him his fault in private;  if he listens to you, you have won your brother. 16 But if he does not listen to you, take one or two more with you, so that by the mouth of two or three witnesses every fact may be confirmed. 17 If he refuses to listen to them, tell it to the church; and if he refuses to listen even to the church, let him be to you as a Gentile and a tax collector.Ephesians 4:14-15 NASB14 As a result, we are no longer to be children, tossed here and there by waves and carried about by every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, by craftiness in deceitful scheming; 15 but speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in all aspects into Him who is the head, even ChristJames 5:16 NASB16 Therefore, confess your sins to one another, and pray for one another so that you may be healed. The effective prayer of a righteous man can accomplish much.Matthew 18:18-20 NASB18 Truly I say to you, whatever you bind on earth shall have been bound in heaven; and whatever you loose on earth shall have been loosed in heaven. 19 “Again I say to you, that if two of you agree on earth about anything that they may ask, it shall be done for them by My Father who is in heaven. 20 For where two or three have gathered together in My name, I am there in their midst.”3) WHAT?  What is community all about if people are still messy?Answer: The PICTUREJohn 13:34-35 NIV34 “A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. 35 By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.”Galatians 6:2 NIV2 Carry each other's burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.Questions:1. Is there something keeping you from engaging in genuine community? If so, what? What might you be able to do to help change that?2. What is the Biblical outline for the process of dealing with a brother or sister that has hurt you? Is this something you practice? Why or why not?3. How does living in healthy Christian community show people who Jesus is?

Chris Brogan was very kind to be on my show at launch...this is a quick chat, but well worth a listen.  Fun, and insightful about what is right and what is wrong in the world of content creation. Chris Brogan explores how people use content and community to build marketplaces around areas of belonging. He is CEO of Owner Media Group, a sought after public speaker, and the New York Times bestselling author of eight books and working on his ninth, Belong: A Framework for Embracing Community, Driving the Economy and Building the Future. Learn more about him at chrisbrogan.com.  How did you become a Buddhist Chris went to an event with his better half Jacq Shambala event. Jacq broke all the rules and became BFFs with Pema Chodron Chris does his Buddhism on his own by reading and meditating. Can you run your life at 40% and get a business going? YES! Chris see many people starting out running around being busy because they don't know what they are supposed to do...he get's that. Figure out where you belong instead of where you fit in...then things start getting smarter, quicker, faster. Chris serves people who are trying to figure how to: Create Content that Nurtures a community and perhaps earn the opportunity to create a marketplace You can run at 40% when you stop chasing "everything" and you start serving those people you have the pleasure and opportunity to serve. If you don't know where you belong, it's takes some internal work to figure out where you are supposed to be. Life at 40% allows one to build an energy reserve Being sleep deprived doesn't serve anybody...should be for emergency (non business) use only...such as life and death situations. Chris build his life with plenty of blank space on his calendar to serve his people. Chris never has burnout He puts his mask on first he serves himself and his higher power 2nd circle are the people he loves the most...not all his loved ones...those he loves the most. 3rd are mentors and people he mentors 4th are customers Many people put customers first, but those are the people who gain/lose weight, or get sick and loose time. Chris Brogan:  Belonging, Content, and Community People are throwing out content without knowing "WHY" they are doing it. There's a lot of box checking going on in the Platform space....somebody said I need a podcast...here's a podcast....CHECK! It makes Chris weepy. He wants the whole "content marketing" community to work better Content has to serve 1) the content marketer is served by creating a possibility for an opportunity to sell 2) serve the community as useful, entertaining and informative. Belong to the Community you want to serve...like if you want to serve the Spartan Race crowd...run the Spartan race...or partner with them. You need to listen to what the community wants and needs and nurture your belonging relationship within the community. Then you can earn the opportunity to sell within that community. The reason people have a hard time selling is they are pushing against a space wherein they have not earned the opportunity to sell...that's what Chris is trying to fix. You don't need to create a community you just need to belong and start serving to earn an opportunity to sell. Are "Quotes" content marketing? No. A quote of Chris's is loaded into a robot that tweets 100 times everyday and they all have @chrisbrogan.  This screws up his tweeter feed. Those are robots talking to robots...nobody cares about your quotes. Chris did 45 tweets everyday...the same tweets...nobody complained. Sharing other people's stuff is pretty cool. The powerful shares are natural and organic within the community that contains cleverly embedded branding. Like the Spartan Race Community loves to snap instagram pics of people all muddy jumping over fire...that's powerful content. Quoting a bunch of crap because you think you are supposed to be making noise is just making noi...

Israel has a clear sense of identity and purpose and we talk about what led to his co-founding the building company, home, which has a real focus on people and community and is an impact driven company.  From his earliest years as a child growing up in the cult his Grandfather founded (now called Gloriavale) to time in the United States and Australia, working at PWC and co-founding IT companies, working in the movie industry, we talk about that and more along the way.  What shines through in this interview is a clear sense of identity and resulting purpose which places an emphasis on people and community over profits.  For me, having worked with many social enterprises and other companies what home is doing is significant as it foreshadows the future I think more companies will embrace - including time frames that allow for 100 year business plans, a focus on employment and care for people who work at a company and a desire to actually do some good through the business of the company itself - in this case, providing homes (not just houses) to many in New Zealand.  This is one of my favourite interviews so far and as it is the 112th one, that is saying something.   Website: https://builtbyhome.com

How any sized business can create customer experience and loyalty. Shep Hyken sits down with Craig McVoy, founder and Chief Experience Officer at Beyond Brand. They discussed Craig’s new book Beyond Brand, the seven customer experience principles every business must follow and the questions you must ask if you want your brand to compete in 2018 and beyond. TOP TAKEAWAYS: •McVoy shares his proven methodology that can help any business, regardless of size, improve their profitability and audience happiness. Not being a big conglomerate or brand shouldn’t stop you from delivering a great experience. •In the omni-channel world we live in, great customer experience is more than just great service on the phone or in store. The experience is an end-to-end feeling the customer has across all touchpoints and channels across the journey. •McVoy states that you cannot deliver a sub-par employee experience and expect your staff to deliver your customers a great experience. 86% of customers say they want to have a meaningful relationship with brands they use. However, 74% of those people said they couldn’t care less if those brands fell of the face of the earth tomorrow. •There are three audiences that brands must be aware of if they want to improve brand loyalty. •Employees - People who work for your brand. •Customers - People who’ve spent money on your product or service. •Community - People who know about your brand, but aren’t an employee or a customer (and have an opinion about you). ABOUT: Craig McVoy is the co-founder and Chief Experience Officer at Beyond Brand. Before Beyond Brand, he spent 25 years helping brands like BMW and Mercedes deliver a better experience to both customers and employees. Currently, while consulting with dozens of brands, he is writing a book titled, Beyond Brand - Why it's the experience that causes people to fall in love with the brand. Shep Hyken is a customer service and experience expert, New York Times bestselling author, award-winning keynote speaker, and your host of Amazing Business Radio. Learn more about your ad choices. Why is understanding what the church is and what it isn't so important? Because if we misunderstand this we'll never truly grasp how great a gift and how critical our need is for genuine, loving, community. You were made for it. At Redemption, we are community people. (10-09-16)

Please Subscribe on iTunes and Stitcher Chris Brogan explores how people use content and community to build marketplaces around areas of belonging. Belonging, Content, and Community People are throwing out content without knowing "WHY" they are doing it. No. A quote of Chris's is loaded into a robot that tweets 100 everyday and they all have @chrisbrogan. Quoting a bunch of crap because you think you are supposed to be making noise is just making noise.    Links Chris Brogan Current Blog & Weekly Newsletter Sign-Up:  http://www.
