Without question, the only real talking point on investors' lips at present is the protectionist utterings emanating from the recently anointed Trump administration. Risk currencies sold-off sharply after Trump unveiled savage tariffs aimed at Canada, Mexico and China over the weekend, although these moves have since reversed after a number of the trade restrictions were delayed at the eleventh hour. But, what do our analysts make of the headlines? Is Trump serious? Or are these tariff threats merely a negotiating ploy? And how could markets react to the imposition of trade restrictions on the European Union? We'd like to hear from you! Key Takeaways: Consider setting aside 10-20% of your budget for the maintenance of owned assets to prevent financial stress and ensure their enjoyment over time. Every investment is essentially a currency trade, reflecting the vision and current preferences of the market's collective mindset. Positioning for 'the big trade' involves anticipating shifts in market expectations and investing in assets that will be scarce and valuable in a future economic landscape. The episode underscores the emerging significance of the digital economy and the potential of bitcoin as a store of value for digitally savvy generations. Governments may need to inject more currency into the economy, prompting strategic investors to channel this flow into purchasing future-focused and scarce productive assets. The US Dollar has been the world's global reserve currency since the Second World War, underpinning global trade and US dominance. However, as our guest argues, its use as a global policy tool such as in sanctions, increasing geopolitical competition and political instability at home is threatening its status. Various countries and blocs are attempting to circumvent dollar trades. Yet, perhaps, the dollar's biggest threat comes from blockchain and especially Bitcoin. What does that mean for commodities and the world? Our guest is Jonah Van Bourg, former oil derivatives trader at Goldman Sachs and Vitol, crypto and precious metals trader at DRW and now helping to build Onyx Commodities. Jonah is also the co-host of the 1000x podcast. To see the 1000x podcast visit: https://www.youtube.com/@1000xPodcastFor more on HC Group visit: www.hcgroup.global

We got so much out of our chat with Empire Financial Research's Whitney Tilson on Decoded last week that we asked if he'd sit down with us again to talk about what's going on in the world right now. The former hedge fund manager and current investment newsletter publisher delivered, just as he does to 140,000 avid readers of his daily takes on market movers and shakers. In our stimulating chat, Whitney tells us why he's confident about a ceasefire in Ukraine and a resulting rally in beaten-down growth stocks, skeptical that a viable alternative to the US dollar's reserve currency status exists, optimistic about Twitter's potential to become a 10-bagger in the next decade, and so much more.

Our guest today, is forex expert Kathy Lien, who will describe the multitude of profit opportunities possible in the forex market, from short-term price swings to long-term trends. Currencies represent an increasingly popular way to capitalize on the up and down movements in the financial markets. Previously limited to institutional investors, hedge funds, and other deep-pocketed players, the onslaught of technology that moved foreign exchange platforms online has made the market available to individual traders. With the advent of currency-based exchange-traded funds, currencies can now be traded like stocks and anyone can have access to trading 24-hours a day, using a large amount of leverage, with low transaction costs. In her latest book, “THE LITTLE BOOK OF CURRENCY TRADING”, Lien illustrates how to track trends and when to pick tops and bottoms using a trading tool developed by Lien to determine whether a currency is in a trend or range.
