fWotD Episode 2902: Lady Blue (TV series) Welcome to Featured Wiki of the Day, your daily dose of knowledge from Wikipedia’s finest articles. The featured article for Tuesday, 15 April 2025 is Lady Blue (TV series).Lady Blue is an American detective and action-adventure television series. Produced by David Gerber, it originally aired for one season on the American Broadcasting Company (ABC) network from September 15, 1985, to January 25, 1986. It was picked up by ABC after its pilot aired as a television film on April 15, 1985. The show revolves around Chicago detective Katy Mahoney (Jamie Rose) and her violent methods of handling cases. The supporting cast includes Danny Aiello, Ron Dean, Diane Dorsey, Bruce A. Young, Nan Woods, and Ricardo Gutierrez. Johnny Depp also guest-starred on the series in one of his earliest roles. With cinematography by Jack Priestley, the episodes were filmed on location in Chicago. Television critics noted Lady Blue's emphasis on violence, calling Mahoney "Dirty Harriet" (after Clint Eastwood's character Dirty Harry). Rose said she joined the project after being drawn to its genre. She prepared for the role by watching Eastwood's films, received advice from Eastwood on how to handle a gun, and practiced at a shooting range. After the pilot aired, Lady Blue was criticized by several watchdog organizations (particularly the National Coalition on Television Violence) as the most violent show on television. ABC moved the series from Thursdays to Saturdays before cancelling it in early 1986, partially due to the complaints about excessive violence. Critical reception to the series was primarily negative during its run, but television studies author Cary O'Dell questions whether that stemmed from contemporary sexism. Lady Blue has not been released on DVD, Blu-ray, or an online streaming service. The series' rights are owned by Metro-Goldwyn Mayer, but there are no plans for future home releases. This recording reflects the Wikipedia text as of 00:44 UTC on Tuesday, 15 April 2025.For the full current version of the article, see Lady Blue (TV series) on Wikipedia. This podcast uses content from Wikipedia under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike License.Visit our archives at wikioftheday.com and subscribe to stay updated on new episodes.Follow us on Mastodon at @wikioftheday@masto.ai.Also check out Curmudgeon's Corner, a current events podcast.Until next time, I'm neural Danielle.

In today's episode, we had the pleasure of speaking with David Gerber, MD, a professor in the Department of Internal Medicine at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, a member of its Division of Hematology/Oncology, and co-director of Education and Training for the Harold C. Simmons Comprehensive Cancer Center in Dallas. In our exclusive interview, Dr Gerber discussed the evolving role of antibody-drug conjugates (ADCs) in non–small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), focusing on findings from key clinical trials. He highlighted results from the phase 3 TROPION-Lung01 trial (NCT04656652), which demonstrated a modest improvement in progression-free survival with datopotamab deruxtecan-dlnk (Datroway), a TROP2-directed ADC, compared with docetaxel in patients with previously treated advanced NSCLC. He also emphasized the toxicity profile of TROP2-directed ADCs, particularly gastrointestinal toxicities and myelosuppression. Dr Gerber also reviewed the phase 2 HERTHENA-Lung01 trial (NCT04619004) evaluating patritumab deruxtecan in patients with EGFR-mutant NSCLC and the phase 2 DESTINY-Lung02 trial (NCT04644237) assessing fam-trastuzumab deruxtecan-nxki (Enhertu) in those with HER2-mutant NSCLC. Dr Gerber reflected on the shared DXd payload of these ADCs, highlighting its implications for toxicity and efficacy, as well as open questions regarding treatment sequencing and resistance mechanisms.

This episode of the Urban Lives of Property Series expands discussions geographically and conceptually: Our guest in this episode, Jean-David Gerber, helps us think property from Switzerland and other places. Starting off with the observation that there is no single understanding of property, Jean-David argues that it is important for any consideration to be context-specific and to realize that property is not the same as propriété or Eigentum. Jean-David elaborates on his approach to property on the basis of the Institutional Resource Regime framework that he has been working on with colleagues for many years. Based on his fieldwork in Ghana, Senegal and Switzerland, he discusses the application of the framework aimed to consider the combined effects of public policies and property rights on the use of resources and the users themselves. Focusing on the case of Switzerland, he talks us through the legacy and ongoing relevance of old forms of collective property in forests and shared pastures in the mountains. Moving to the debate around new (urban) commons, the episode also covers current struggles and conflicts around the land policy paradigm in Switzerland, as well as new ideas in planning to exercise greater influence in urban development in the public interest.

This headline in the Atlantic about Ozempic really caught my attention. Did Scientists Accidentally Invent an Anti-addiction Drug? I'm well aware there's a dieting frenzy going on in the world right now with everyone and their mother talking about, and many taking 'Ozempic'.  What I was recently made aware of, is the potential for this drug to benefit those with addictive personalities and to help so many people struggling with addictions of all types. Could this drug be a major game changer?    Ozempic, also known as semiglutide, is a drug meant for  adults with type 2 diabetes used to improve blood sugar, along with diet and exercise, and reduce the risk of major cardiovascular events such as heart attack, stroke, or death in adults with type 2 diabetes and known heart disease. BUT....and its' a really big BUT....it seems this drug is doing things no one saw coming. So I asked my friend David Gerber, who has worked for decades in the addiction industry to join me on my radio show to talk about it and find out what if anthing he's seeing or hearing about this.   Are people who've been taking Ozempic or Wegovy really stopping drinking? smoking? shopping? gambling? picking their skin?   David is the Founder of Sober At Home, which provides confidential substance abuse & addiction group counseling services online. People can get help from their licensed addictions counselors & specialists at a reasonable price from the priovacy of their own home. No insurance required.    If this subject is of interest to you or someone you know, please take a few minutes to listen to this podcast of my  live interview with David Gerber on The Debbie Nigro Show airing weekdays on 1490 WGCH and 'live' on the digital livestream on WGCH. com. https://youtu.be/vu-iJplTBdY Matt Davis is the CEO and Owner of Davis Business Law, a group of business lawyers dedicated to helping companies and entrepreneurs deal with the complex vulnerabilities in their business. He is also the author of The Art of Preventing Stupid: How to Build a Stronger Business Strategy through Better Risk Management. We talk about the business immune system report, how constant improvement always leads to success, and the difference between ignorance and ineptitude in business.    --- Proactively Protect Your Business with Matt Davis Our guest is Matt Davis, the CEO and owner of Davis Business Law, a group of dedicated general counsel and litigation experts to business clients of all sizes. And he's also the author of The Art of Preventing Stupid. Matthew, welcome to the show. Hey, thanks for having me. It's a great day. I'm excited to be on the show. I'm a big fan of your stuff, as we call it. Thank you. The excitement is mutual. So we always have this show with the origin story of each of our entrepreneur guests. So what is yours, Matt? Well, I like to joke that I had a midlife crisis and started a law firm, and I'm kind of joking, and I'm not. I was, I practiced law. Really, at one point, I just practiced out of my house, and I had a really great clientele. I had a very, fair quote, sophisticated marketing strategy in that I wasn't in the phone book, I didn't have an internet presence, and I was just busy as I could be. I could stay busy 24/7 if I wanted to, and I had some friends working for me. And I realized it was just too much, and it was wearing me out. And I was the sole breadwinner, and I have five kids. And so I realized, hey, I'm really vulnerable here. And I went out and started Davis Business Law and over seven years we've grown from me to 13 lawyers now and 23 employees and we're just scaling from here. So, we're in I guess six markets right now and we're about to add another one. So, what's the difference between running your law firm and then one day have a midlife crisis or whatever, actually making a decision that, okay, I'm still an attorney, I'm still going to practice law, but I'm going to now create a company out of this. So is this a gradual shift or is this kind of a dramatic mindset shift? Now, I ran into a company called How to Manage a Small Law Firm, and they were pretty instrumental in that paradigm shift in my mind and just suggested, hey, why don't you do this? And I was a member of their group for three years, and I highly recommend them. And I just said, okay, let's do it. And I went and I called my paralegal who was working at the bank and called her and said, hey, let's go start a law firm. She said, let's go. We bought the building we're in now. And literally just within three months, we're down here up and running and then just started hiring people. And so it was, for me, it was a pretty dramatic shift. I mean, it's kind of what is Gerber who wrote-Michael Gross. Yeah, David Gerber calls it a entrepreneurial spasm. And that's pretty much what I had and just took off running with it. So other than buying the building and hiring people, which is kind of easy to do, maybe expensive to do, but it's easy to do, what did you start doing differently from that point? Well, we started marketing and we started building systems and we started measuring things, trying to figure out where our clients were coming from, where our opportunities were from, and then we kept working on getting me from working in the business to me working on the business, as again Gerber says, and it's common. And now we're at a point now where I can work in the business or work on the business rather, really as much as I want. I still handle some cases because I'm in a lot of ways still the lead lawyer, although we have really great lawyers. And so I like to keep a couple of clients active because it keeps me sharp, it keeps me in the business. Yeah, it's your personal laboratory,

"Sober at Home” For The Holidays. Try something new. Get different results. “Sober at Home” is an online alternative to formal addiction treatment with experienced professionals like Founder & CEO David Gerber who have amazing track records of success . David has been in the field of addictions for 30 years. He's helped thousands of men and women addicted to alcohol and drugs find their way to sobriety. "Sober at Home” offers a discreet affordable opportunity to try a new way to get sober. No insurance required. They also offer much needed knowledge and information for family members looking to help loved ones get and stay sober. Family members of addicts and alcoholics surely struggle too. David pointed out that 'one in ten people' have suffered with a substance abuse problem in their lifetime, and holidays are especially tough for people both 'using' and in recovery. Family get-togethers he says, see drinking and drug use and family dysfunction rise. And now he adds, with so many of the drugs on the street these days laced with Fentanyl the situation has gotten very serious and often deadly. I dont know how David does what he does everyday with such intensity and passion, but helping people is what he's been doing since 6th grade. David shared with a giggle that as soon as he realized he wasn't going to be a profesional athlete,  he found that helping people with their problems felt like the next best thing.  Having worked for decades in the addiction industry, and seeing what has worked and what hasn't, he made the decision to start "Sober at Home" to help as many people as he can across the country. So much of what were doing today isn't working, says David. Why? The first obstacle for many people is walking into outpatient treatment program where there may be other people that are drinking, drugging, and even selling drugs. There's a stigma of walking into these places. "Sober at Home" removes that stigma and gives people an opportunity to get the help they need privately, discreetly and affordably. I was a little shocked that people at drug treatment centers are doing drugs. Then I spotted a New York Post headline this past week which read..."What Are they Smoking? NYC nonprofits will sell weed-while they treat drug addicts." Isn't there something wrong with this I asked David?  To which he replied I think that's unconscionable. He did explain that of many sober and licensed treatment programs offer 'medications' as part of admission. "Sober At Home" is designed with a schedule that works around your life if you need help. Groups start at 6am and go till midnite 7 days a week. Lot of people are functioning alcoholics and functioning drug addicts and this is an opportunity for them to get well without interupting a job scedule. Companies too will encourage good employees who all of a sudden have a substance abuse to utilize the help that Sober at Home offers woth their full support. Telehealth addiction therapy exists but it's mostly one on one. At "Sober at Home" says David Gerber, we understand that groups are what help individuals get connected and bonded to a sober lifestyle. " "I like to describe the the progression of addiction as the ever increasingly shrinking world of addiction. It takes people, to a very selfish and lonely and isolated place. The process of recovery that we're implementing helps expand peoples worlds back, so they become connected at "Sober At Home". Our goal is that people restore meaningful and purposeful sober lives."  As far as privacy goes, David shares that many people worry about going to a local treatment center because of who might know them there. "Sober At Home" is a national platform so there are people from all across the country who particpate at the same time. Chances are these folks do not know each other from anywhere. There's a much less likelihood of people finding out. It's a discreet and private program. David Gerber has helped thousands of men and women recover from addiction. His past 'success rates' have been double the national average on programs he's worked on. Hes had an 80% succèss rate with 'interventions' in the past getting people connected to treatment. David Gerber brings 30 years of experience to founding "Sober At Home" along with members of his immediate family including his wife, brother in law, and his son. They're all on board and committed to spending their time getting people sober and back to living great lives.  Enjoy this 'double segment' podcast conversation with David Gerber CEO Founder "Sober at Home" from his live appearance on The Debbie Nigro Show. David (aka Gerber to most) has been an integral part of the WGI team for over a decade and has had the unique pleasure of working out of several different WGI offices during his time here. Despite thinking we knew all of Gerber's ins and outs, we discovered during this podcast recording that we had only scratched the surface. We learned that he was born in Miami but grew up in the Lakeland area between Tampa and Orlando. Following high school graduation, he quickly booked it back to South Florida, where he first attended the University of Miami (UM) before transferring to Florida International University (FIU), where he completed his Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering. We listened while Gerber told us how a chance encounter at a wedding was not only how he ended up here with us at WGI but also what spurred his interest in transportation engineering in the first place. We learned that he primarily focuses on roadway design for public projects, handling the roadway geometrics, the phases of construction, and coordinating with all the other disciplines working on the project.  Aside from talking about his career, we also delved into what Gerber enjoys doing in his spare time, which includes traveling

Novus Global Coach Jon Roberts interviews fellow coach David Gerber and his client Kevin Shtofman, COO of Commercial Real Estate data integration company, NavigatorCRE. Kevin talks about the “uncomfortable” growth conversations he had with David, inspiring him to initiate similarly uncomfortable, but ultimately transformative, conversations with his employees. In this episode of the Alchemist Nation Real Estate Podcast, I talk to David Gerber, a syndicator who narrates to me how 2020 has been so difficult for many people which has been brutal physically, economically, and mentally but there is also the other side of the coin where selfishly he has had a lot of time to spend with his family, he has been able to travel less and he has more time to build some relationships. There is the other side of the coin that he is incredibly grateful for with the more people that he speaks to and more of connecting with one another. I wanted to know how 2020 affected his business. He says that his business has benefited in many ways like deepened his connections with his investors because the spring was difficult and scary and that is where people learned a lot about who you're as an investor, as a partner, and how you're going to handle adversity. When things are going great, everybody is happy and there isn't really a whole lot of tests but when things are difficult you learn a lot. So he learned a lot about his partners specifically on how they were willing to be able to engage with residents, making sure that they were healthy and safe but also from a business perspective when they weren't able to raise the rent, they found ways to help them and there were a lot of organizations that were helpful though not every case was perfect. They tried to do the right thing in all cases and he thinks that the test taught them about who they wanted to be as operators. As investors, they had to curtail a lot of their distributions and investments and they were worried about their decision but it was prudent of them to do so without exception, and every single investor agreed to their decision. David offers 3 pieces of advice to a 20-year-old self on how to improve his business, improve the speed at which he builds his wealth, and the quality of relationships. 1) - Read for quality versus quantity and take notes. 2) - Think first about what you can do for somebody else. 3) - Living within your means and continue to invest. He uses this in his own life to ask better questions, while searching to understand people, without judgment, with hopes of honoring and respecting them.  A man of much achievement, David believes if you aren’t stretched to your limits, you probably don’t know where your limits are. And he should know! Whether it’s completing an Iron Man triathlon or purposefully plunging into neck-deep ice water for 10 minutes, David Gerber is a man intent on making a dent in the universe.   Of course, he’s quick to tell you that the secret to making that dent is to first and foremost ‘be a person unto yourself’. As David states convincingly, you are worthy of your love, first.  Yes, this episode features some deep thinking, but it’s also chock full of fun. Listen as the question “where did you go to school” turns into a circuitous journey inclusive of meteorology, biblical studies, throwing grapefruits and a fighter pilot call sign that’s not Goose.  David Gerber proffers all of us the wonder and awe of finding out what we’re fully capable of. It’s about flipping the paradox in our comfort zones to find the most energizing, fulfilling, life-loving possibilities. And at the end of the day, isn’t that what it’s all about?
