Instrumental SING ALONG ! "The Circle Game" Written and released by Joni Mitchell 1970Joni said "This is a song about seasons, and circles, and time, and growing old, and growing young"Producer Renee Plays her Rendition on Piano + Guitar. Here Are The Lyrics: Yesterday a child came out to wonderCaught a dragonfly inside a jarFearful when the sky was full of thunderAnd tearful at the falling of a star. Then the child moved ten times  'round the seasonsSkated over ten clear frozen streamsWords like "When you're older" must appease himAnd promises of someday make his dreams. And the seasons, they go 'round and 'roundAnd the painted ponies go up and downWe're captive on the carousel of timeWe can't return, we can only lookBehind from where we cameAnd go 'round and 'round and 'roundIn the circle game.So the years spin by and now the boy is twentyThough his dreams have lost some grandeur coming trueThere'll be new dreams, maybe better dreams and plentyBefore the last revolving year is through. And the seasons, they go 'round and 'roundAnd the painted ponies go up and downWe're captive on the carousel of timeWe can't return, we can only lookBehind from where we cameAnd go 'round and 'round and 'roundIn the circle game. And go 'round and 'round and 'roundIn the circle game.VoiceRenee@charter.net

They are still part of his style, but “Somehow,” his latest single, is not the one orthe other. They are, instead, part of a new fusion that incorporates both with the instrumentationand lyrics of several kinds of music that are in his musical background, including hisupbringing and the place where he was born, raised and still lives — Nashville,Tennessee, specifically East Nashville.“Somehow” and its video drop on September 13.It is on the surface a love song and a song about relationships in general, with people, with life.“‘Somehow' is all about how it's okay to move on, from a relationship or from certainparts of your life where you feel like you're stuck,” said Johnny PE. “As long as we'rehere, there's always a tomorrow. You always got new opportunities to make a bettertomorrow. You just got to keep pushing everyday.”Memories keep pouring downWe can't escape from this dark cloudIf we could find a way to figure it outSomehow, SomehowMoving on is what he is doing. “Somehow” is the next stage in his musical development. The drums of “Somehow” say hip-hop. The melodies and instrumentation arealternative. The soft, easy guitar work is like a ballad, and the lyrics are emo, butJohnny PE's clear, strong voice now and then dips into R&B.“Once you listen to ‘Somehow' and some of the future music, you'll see it's morealternative. It's actually more emo because it's more guitar — acoustic heavy, but it stillhas a bass line.”He said “Somehow” marks the opening of a new phase in his career, and the choice isdeliberate. His tracks from here on out will be descendants of this one.“I'm in a different space in my life,” he said. “Hip-hop has saved a lot of people's lives, and it's always going to be around, but I want to make something more meaningful tome personally, something that touches me on a bigger level, something that people canrelate to. It was time to change gears and show my evolution as a person and as anartist.”It is such a mix that he can't put a name to it, but he said, “Once you hear this record? It's gonna tell you just about everything you need to know about where I am and whereI'm going.”The variety on display in this song, the way all the different pieces come together sosmoothly, is a natural result of his upbringing and his place. His influences include, “of course,” Michael Jackson, but he said, “My parents used toplay Side A, and Anita Baker, Luther Vandross, the old school music. My older brother,he would play different things, man. I'm ranging from Bone Thugs-N-Harmony toNickelback, Coldplay, Chris Brown, John Mayer, Usher, Frank Ocean and PharrellWilliams. Growing up in my house, I'd get a little bit of everything.”It's also his place — Nashville, which is known for country, but also has a rich andvaried musical culture, from country to blues.“It's a great place to be,” he said. His background is making him a well-rounded artist, “able to try different things andexperiment with my voice, and I can write just about whatever I want.”He has been making music for a dozen years or so now, starting out, like so manypeople do, “self-taught, singing our favorite songs on the radio.”Then, one day, his brother told him, “Man, you got a really nice voice. You should take itserious,” and he took his brother's advice.“Of course, I wasn't releasing music, but I was taking myself through music bootcamp, recording and trying to get better. I've always done R&B, then started to get better, gaining some local buzz. I just kept doing it, kept getting better, working on my voice, working on my pen, and here we are.”He has two more singles ready to go, “Changes” and “Breaking.”“They're special, man. Words can't even do them justice.”“I'm serious,” he said, laughing. “Amazing records, man, amazing. I'm excited aboutthem. We got stuff lined up, and we're really working.”

One of the most clear and compelling voices across the wide landscape of personal and collective transformation is Dr. Julie Krull , author, mentor, and radio host whose “superpowers” of consciousness and creativity bring new insight to the journey of wholeness and healing.Julie hosts the weekly radio program and podcast The Dr. Julie Show: All Things Connected. Her book Fractured Grace: How to Create Beauty, Peace, and Healing for Yourself and the World challenges an outdated worldview that has long fostered a sense of separation and fear among people and comm unities.Julie's passionate belief in connected consciousness embraces the core understanding that we are not separate from the creative intelligence that designed the universe. The imperative is to embody this conscious integration and co - create a future where humanity and the planet are both enhanced in a mutual destiny. In part one of a two - part conversation with Aviv Shahar, Julie reflects on the insights and new learnings that have emerged from radio show dialogues with thought leaders and other remark able guests from around the world, including:Healing means to make whole again, but we're not going back to something. We literally are healing and transforming forward to something newScience is showing us we're part of this universe; I'm going to say divinely creative — it brings science and spirituality back together. It's whole and unitive and can't be separatedEvery branch of science — cosmology, evolution, biology, consciousness studies, developmental psychology — converge and show how this false belief in separation created the world as we know it, and it's literally breaking downWe have this unified field of consciousness, and life emerges and materializes from this new understanding of information at the center of the universeImagine our definition of wholeness isn't mind, body, spirit anymore; it's understanding we are nested within whole living systems, within a whole living systemWe can trace the effects of five waves of transformation over the last 60 years, from New Age tribalism to intentional communities, the internet, and the new integration of the 2020sWe can see science and evolutionary biology, the environment, and spirituality rising and merging against a backdrop of the metamodern movement and the liminal webWe need to think bigger than we've ever thought beforeWhat would it be like to live so fully in a flow state that the Unified Field of Consciousness is our default, our preferred and normal, playground? This is the invitationAs I create greater coherence, and we create coherence together, we enter the miracle zone where what we can imagine is only the beginning, because we can't even imagine everything that's comingThis conversation is part of the continuing Portals discovery into what is emerging on the frontiers of human experience in this time of profound change. Information about upcom ing special events can be found on the Events page. And looking at cosmology, evolution biology, con sciousness studies, developmental psychology, it's like all of them converge with the same story from all the different disciplines now and really showing how this false belief of separation created the world as we know it that's literally breaking down.” (Dr. Julie)“There's an imperative that we understand our wholeness in relation to a greater whole. So that if the whole planet isn't healthy, I can't be healthy, and so my health depends on living for the good of the whole.” (Dr. Julie)“I say the sky's not the limit anymore, the cosmos is the limit. When we begin saying what is possible, literally we need to think bigger than we've ever thought before, and so much of where we're at on the planet is about creating greater coherence among communities and holding, and I'm saying holding, you're right, we don't have to hold it anymore, but as I create greater coherence and we create coherence together, we enter that miracle zone so much more frequently and stay there.” (Dr. Julie)“I have a coaster over thre. There's this leap and the net will appear to leap and this step will appear, and now it's like okay, the steps are appearing for me and there's that embodied remembering, which is very different than before.” (Dr. Julie)“Energetically we know emotions feel different. We know what an angry tear feels like. We know what the tear of awe and beauty feels like, and we know what that sob of grief feels like, and so I love imagining that with our waters on the planet and how we can heal one another fr om that understanding and that wisdom of the waters being encoded like this, it's an amazing thing to ponder.” (Dr. Julie) RESOURCES MENTIONED Portals of Perception WebsiteAviv's LinkedIn Aviv's TwitterAviv's Website

Hey, friend, Thank you for joining me for Running Scared with Coach Christine. I'm a Level 2 RRCA and Galloway certified coach,  but more importantly, I'm someone that knows it's so much easier to get out for your run or walk when you have something to look forward to that helps with motivation. So if you are like me and are a runner or walker that enjoys hearing a true crime case or spooky tale, then welcome! You have found your corner of the internet. Today for the kick-off of National Hispanic Heritage Month, I am paying homage to the Queen of Tejano music and much beloved by the entire Latinx community, Selena Quintanilla Pérez.Selena was well on her way to becoming a mega-star on the U.S. pop charts, her life was cut tragically short by an obsessed fan, proving that the line between love and hate is precariously thin. This true crime coach cast is a solid endurance-building conversation-paced run, but since we will be learning about Selena a pop princess in her own right, we will add in a 30-second "pop quiz" every 5 minutes to make sure you are tuning in and flexing that brain with memory recall.I'll tell you the case and story during our 5-minute conversation paced segments and then ask you a question. You choose your answer and do the corresponding exercise to that option! For :30 seconds of Pop Power Quiz Option 1 - Power Skips Option 2 - Power Pace PickupOption 3 - Jumping JacksRecap for today's 41:00 minute workout - 5- minute warm-up5- minute RPE scale 3-4 (conversation pace):30 second Pop Power Quiz5- minute RPE scale 3-4 (conversation pace):30 second Pop Power Quiz5- minute RPE scale 3-4 (conversation pace):30 second Pop Power Quiz5- minute RPE scale 3-4 (conversation pace):30 second Pop Power Quiz5- minute RPE scale 3-4 (conversation pace)5 - minute cool-downWe will be using RPE found here >>I'd love you to join the Running Scared community on Facebook, where you get to weigh in with your thoughts and requests and get invites to special true crime-focused events. It made no sense on the way up. It makes no sense on the way downWe’ve been the same business the whole time. Just have to ignore it”One advantage of this insane market is that companies/leadership teams showed their true colors. It’s a minority, but the teams who have kept their heads while being absolutely whipsawed by the market during a brutal operating and capital environment are the ones you want to ownThin markets can move fast. We saw it last week. Quite a few stocks went up 10-15% on little volume only to give most of it back. The few stocks near 52-week highs that tried to break out failed, only to find support near their rising 10 and 20-day EMAs. Typical bear market action. The indexes had a good run since the last CPI was released about ten days ago. Now it’s time to test the validity of this rally. If QQQ cannot hold 295, this rally can be considered over. The same can be said if Russell 2k IWM doesn’t hold 175. The next week is likely to bring extra volatility to the tape. There’s an FOMC meeting on today. The Fed is expected to raise interest rates by 75bps. Anything more or less would be considered a surprise that it is probably not priced in. The market will also pay attention to Fed’s future intentions. We also have earnings season which has just begun. Snapchat fell 40% after missing estimates and citing that the margins in the advertising business are starting to shrink due to companies cutting their marketing budgets. Will find out if this was just a Snapchat problem or something much more widespread. Big Tech reports next week and everyone will be paying attention. If Apple, Google, Facebook, Microsoft, and Amazon mention troubles and cutting costs, it will be felt everywhere. What will matter the most is the market reaction. When sentiment is improving, the market is looking for the slightest reason to go up and vice versa. If people want to put money to work, it will be seen in the price action – stocks will have high-volume breakouts and low-volume pullbacks that will resolve higher. Downside gaps won’t last long and they will be faded as we saw in financials in the past week or so. If the market has further to go down, the good news is not going to bring a sustained move higher. You Need These 8 Mental Models For Investing Success - from steady compoundingBuffett says that Munger has the best 30-second mind in the world. He sees the essence of everything before you even finish the sentence. That’s because Munger has a robust latticework of mental models in his mind. These 8 mental models will help your investment process:1. Occam’s RazorIt states that “it is futile to do with more what can be done with fewer”.The simplest explanation is most likely the right one.Similar to Peter Lynch’s 2-min drill: If truly understood, the thesis could be summed up in 2-min.2. Loss Aversion BiasThe pain of losing is twice as immense as the pleasure of gaining. We tend to avoid losses over earning gains. This can lead to an overly conservative portfolio that does not deliver the returns needed for an investor to achieve their financial goals.3. Mean ReversionMost things revert to the mean.In investing, this usually refers to profitability, growth & valuation. If an industry is high profitability, it’ll start attracting competition. Unless there’s an economic moat, excess profits will be competed away.4. Economic MoatA strong economic moat exists when there’s a long-term competitive advantage.Moat protects a company’s profitability and growth from competition.Examples:•High switching costs•Economies of scale•Network effects•Regulations•Branding5. Luck-Skill ContinuumUnlike chess, investing is more like a game of poker.Success in investing is partially determined by luck.A good outcome may be the result of either a good or bad process.Evaluate your investments by your process, and less on outcomes.6. Survivorship BiasWithout considering companies that have failed, we assume that a company’s success represents the entire industry. It is common for investors to cite Salesforce’s success as a yardstick for what other loss-making SaaS companies can accomplish.7. Parkinson’s LawWork expands based on the time allocated for its completion.Ever heard of analysis paralysis?Sometimes investors spend way too long analyzing a company.Or worse, spend way too much time reading investing books.Without actually investing 😅8. Authority BiasBlindly believing the opinions of authority figures and attributing greater accuracy to them.E.g. Jim Rogers sounds the bells of pessimism every year. He’s wrong WAY more often than he is right. But some folks buys it.💸Reformed Millennials - Post of The WeekNetflix Talks about ad-based models, killing the password share, and laying off its workforce.FROM THE EARNINGS CALL:Co-CEO Ted Sarandos:On losing 200k subs in Q1 2022:"Consumer reactions are taking place in an inflationary context. Then we started to discuss objects that launch upward, like rocketsAnd today we are going to connect the two Because what goes up … must come downWhen an object is launched, it goes up and up and up, until it STOPSAnd that is where we stopped in the last episode as wellHowever, in reality we all know that when an object is launched, it goes up and up and up and then it stops and THEN it falls right back down to earthNaturally, I want to ask some questions about how that object falls.

In this episode of Systemic Systems Why Do I Care Part 2, Christina takes us even further with pointing out how to determine if your current systems are effective in regards to your business and overall performance. Every morsel of what you handle in and with your business is a system. From how and when you send out emails, when you market your business whether through social media or newsletters, down to when you make phone calls. All of these actions whether you think of it that way or not, has some kind of system attached to it. Set aside some time to go through each of these systems and find out your cycle and how you in particular handle each one. Sometimes an ineffective system just needs a little improvement and you may find it to be completely unnecessary, eliminating it all together could be best. A big hindrance in many businesses is not allowing others to step in to help and this can occur when you have not taken the time to write out each of your systems. Having too much pride in running a business can slow you down tremendously. A good way to begin this process is setting aside some time to track your systems. In this episode you will learn: 1. How to determine if your current system is effective or not2. Ways in which tracking your systems and creating a timeline can help3. Why having too much pride can slow you downWe all have systems regardless of how well we’ve tracked and operated in these systems. Having systems is crucial, but it can also be a drawback if you create systems that only you know how to handle. For anyone interested in joining Melanie, Abby, Kemlo, and Jennie (as well as the #AmWriting hosts) at a retreat in September, you can find this info here! https://www.authoraccelerator.com/amwritingretreatIN THIS EPISODE:This week, Melanie is in a panic because she's been asked to do some public speaking. But beyond the actual Oh, S@#! feeling that public speaking induces, we talk about how it plays into the whole work/life mom/writer balance. Being asked to speak at a bookstore about writing is a fabulous way to put yourself out there as a writer. But the question is, would you bring your kids? This naturally turns the conversation towards how our children perceive what we're doing. Writing a book is a long, arduous process with nothing at the end of a long writing stint to hold up in your hands and say, "Look what I made!" The final product comes way, waaaaaay later. So, how do we help our kids understand what we're doing? We also talk about how and where we work. Melanie and Kemlo, being introverts, hole themselves up in private spaces. Abby, the lone extravert in this conversation, prefers to work in the midst of everything. She even bought a keyboard that connects to her phone by Bluetooth so she can work in the car, at the kids' acting/dance lessons, all the places. So how productive were Abby and Mel this week?Mel isn't happy with the chapter she wrote this week. She couldn't quite put her finger on why, and Kemlo points out that her MC was very wishy-washy, changing her mind a lot but never moving the story forward. Kemlo points out that we change our minds all the time in real life, so your characters can do the same, as long as we (the readers) see that decision making, see the shifts and understand why the characters are changing their minds.Mel laughs because she says she might have written it, but she doesn't understand why her MC is doing what she's doing, either! Kemlo points out that what Mel has done is just put down the first layer: the action. Now she can go back and put down the second layer: the emotion.Melanie fleshes out some of her upcoming writing talk with us. She realizes she can't just stand up there and say:So, yeah. Writing… It's hard. *sits downWe talk about all the hours that writers put into their books, and Kemlo says she thinks the only difference between a great writer and an ok writer is the number of hours they put into their work! Writers work so hard to make it look effortless to their readers. And we, as writers, sometimes forget that when we read!Kemlo says, "It just occurred to me that when you go to see a play, I don't think anyone sees a play and assumes the actors just walked on the stage and started acting because they were supremely talented and could just do it. But when people read a book, they do tend to think that. 'Oh, well, this is an incredibly talented writer. And I'm not that talented, so I can never write a book.' And so, I think the only thing that separates people from right really great books for people who don't is the number of hours they put into it."And Melanie agrees, "I think writing is a skill like anything else, and it can be taught, and it can be learned, and it's just the amount of time that you're willing to put into it."Lastly, Mel wrote a scene that confused Kemlo. A character grabs the MC. What was his intent? Kemlo thought the intention was rape, but Mel didn't intend it that way. Oops. It goes back to what they were talking about earlier in this episode. Mel didn't put the internal thought on the page. She left room for interpretation, and Kemlo interpreted it in a way Melanie didn't intend. Mel goes through her thought process as she was writing this scene, and she and Kemlo look at how she can fix it to make the scene to accurately reflect the emotion she wanted for the scene.Mel also admits that she is trying to go back and layer in some of the romantic subplot that wasn't fully fleshed out in her previous draft. And she thinks that was in the back of her head as she wrote this, and while Melanie didn't intend for the scene to come off as sexual, she thinks she accidentally made it so while she was looking for ways to introduce it elsewhere in the book.Mel reminds herself, "The writing of a book is layered, and nobody gets it right the first time."*To see Melanie's Snapchat video plus pictures from the bookstore talk with Monica, visit our website here.

Highlights in Hebrews (with Roger Kirby)Part 25 - Hebrews 10:11–18 Jesus sat downWe are holy! Day after day every priest stands and performs his religious duties; again and again he offers the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins. But when this priest, Jesus, had offered for all time one sacrifice for sins, he sat down at the right hand of God, and since that time he waits for his enemies to be made his footstool. For by one sacrifice he has made perfect forever those who are being made holy. The Holy Spirit also testifies to us about this. First he says: “This is the covenant I will make with them after that time, says the Lord. I will put my laws in their hearts, and I will write them on their minds.” Then he adds: “Their sins and lawless acts I will remember no more.” And where these have been forgiven, sacrifice for sin is no longer necessary. Our writer likes to make sure we have heard and understood what he has said. So he repeats himself. Here he repeatstwo things in particular he has already said: that Jesus sat down and that the covenant had been renewed in its new form. These days a great many people sit down to work and only stand up when it is finished. It was the other way round for them. Nearly everybody stood up most of the time when they were working. It was only at the end of the day, when the work was done, that they were able to sit down. Jesus sat down at the right hand of God - the place of privilege - because his work was done and would never need to be done again 10:12. Unlike the previous sacrifices carried out in the temple every day his sacrifice was complete, perfect, finished. The sacrifices of animals had been but small tokens of the repentance of the person sacrificing and the forgiveness received from God in response to that repentance. The sacrifice of Jesus, the very Son of God himself, had been so far more effective than those it would never need to be repeated. In fact, how could it possibly be repeated? Any further sacrifice could only be the tiniest reflection of what Jesus had accomplished, not really worth the bother! The sign of the new covenant, the new way in which God was choosing to deal with people, was not to be a sacrifice but a memorial of that one great sacrifice. The sacrifice could not be repeated; only our memory of it could be, and should be, repeated. So Luke says: “he took bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke it and gave it to them, saying, “This is my body, which is given for you. Do this in remembrance of me.” And likewise the cup after they had eaten, saying, “This cup that is poured out for you is the new covenant in my blood. (Luke 22:19-20). Sadly it is not always the case that this is how our memory of him is presented. If we call people ‘priests’ we need something for them to do so we invent altars and a sacrifice for them to do on it. There is no beginning hint that that is the right thing to do here in the New Testament and, in particular, in this book of Hebrews. If you belong to one of the churches where this is the way things are thought about it may not be possible for you to withdraw. If so then you have to attend that sort of service but you need to say to yourself very clearly every time that what you are doing is remembering that great moment of sacrifice when Christ cried ‘it is finished’, a moment never to be repeated, only remembered. And that is true for all of us. What is the effect? We are made holy, made acceptable to appear before the Lord God now and at the end of days.
