Here's a summary of the key details: Summary: A military police officer at Fort Dix claimed to have encountered a non-human being after a UFO was seen hovering over the base in the early morning hours. The officer reported that a disc-shaped craft flew over his car, and then a strange creature (described as around 4 feet tall with a grayish-brown body and a large head) appeared in front of him. The officer said he shot and killed the being when it didn't comply with his orders. The body allegedly fell near McGuire AFB, adjacent to Fort Dix. A security lockdown was initiated, and a special unit supposedly arrived to recover the body. Afterward, the area was sanitized and the incident was reportedly covered up by the military. The case was publicized years later by UFO researcher Leonard Stringfield, who cited anonymous sources within the military.

Dean: Oh, my goodness, Well, I am Flying north. Dan: Oh, you're in Toronto, I'm in Toronto, I'm right in the backyard Exactly. Dean: It is freezing here, by the way, I don't know if you noticed. Dan: Oh, technically it's freezing. It's below 32 degrees. Dean: Uh-huh, I just circled in big, you know, around red. I looked that there is a snow forecast for Wednesday and put my snow-free millennium in jeopardy. Dan: Yeah, well, we had summer in Argentina it was 81, 82. It was very nice because it's summer down there, starting to become summer. Dean: Right, how did everything go? This is your fifth trip, right? It was good. Dan: Yeah, Progress, good progress. The stem cells in the knee have grown since. Well, the cartilage has grown since. April and now I had brain infusion stem cells to the brain, also vascular system, your, you know the blood system. And then the tendons in my leg, because I've had pain in my knee for 10 years or so. It's not constant, but the impact. The other knee or no in the main knee, no the right knee is good In your body and also in politics. Right always works. Right is right, Right is right. Anyway and now it's coming along. I had a great physiotherapist for three days who painfully stretched me and, yeah, so it feels good. Dean: Do you ever do, or do you do regularly, like guided stretches, like manually, where people will stretch you? Dan: Only my brain, okay my brain. Dean: Okay, I had. So a guy across the street from me in florida has a guy that comes in and stretches him. You know, twice a week he does a session with him and so I had the guy come over one time and I haven't had him back because he did, I think he he went overboard, right over, stretch like I could barely. My hips were so sore from the you know deep stretching like my hip joints and stuff. It was painful and I never had him. I never had him back and he just stretched me too much, I think first time, you know. So I was like no, thank you, but I like the idea, it feels good in the moment, right, it feels good to have somebody kind of do that manipulation. Dan: Yeah, we have a great guy in Buenos. Aires. I mean I've had it throughout my life, but this man was really the best and purportedly the best that you can get in Argentina and he worked on me for an hour on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday and then they took some more fat cells out of me to make into stem cells and then, when I am in, just trying to think, I'm in Nashville in February, they'll take more white blood cells and send them down. And then we'll be ready with a new batch of stem cells. Dean: Do you have to send them with a mule? Dan: Or can you send them? No, we send them to. Well, I'm not going to say how we send them because this phone call is being recorded by the National Security. Dean: Agency Right right right. Dan: I wonder if they just perked up when I mentioned their name. Dean: I'll tell you what is. So. I mean it's ridiculous right. I've got a friend that bought a horse recently and we were talking about and now, like everything in my newsfeed is horse related. You know it's funny. Dan: They're definitely listening, not getting the connection. Not getting the connection. Dean: Well, I mean. So you're saying people are listening. I'm saying that in conversation about horses. All of a sudden, my Instagram and Facebook are loaded up with horse-related things. Dan: Oh, wow. Dean: That's what I mean is they're definitely listening. Dan: What you're saying is that the NSA isn't the main problem. Dean: Well, they may be a deeper if Facebook is listening that hardly. Dan: What was that Tom Cruise movie um? Something ancient oh minority report. Dean: Yeah, yes, yeah, I was thinking that's on my list of I want to watch. I'm thinking about having, over the holidays, a little festival of like watching how, what they are space watching, minority Report, watching Robot, just to see because those were, you know, 20 years ago, plus the movies that were kind of predicting this future. Where we are now, you know, it's pretty amazing. Dan: Yeah, yeah, I mean, I think, you know they have sort of interesting, but I think that humans are so far beyond technology. That and not only that, but humans have created technology. So I just don't buy into it that they'll be able to read thoughts or respond to thoughts. First of all because just the sheer complexity of the issue. So, in other words, you pick up on what I'm thinking right now. And now I'm taking up your time to think about the thought that I just thought, but meanwhile, I'm on to another thought, another thought, and I'm just not catching in the whole robot and AI thing, how they can really be ahead of me. They can't be ahead of me, they're always going to be behind me. So it's like deep data. That deep data sometimes can know what was happening yesterday. Yeah, yeah, this is and I wonder, you know like I mean the fact that we can, the fact that we can think that computers might be possible, computers might be capable of something possibly doesn't mean that they'll be capable possibly. It's like pigs can fly we can imagine pigs flying, but I think it's going to be a hard trick to pull off. Dean: Yeah. So I just had a experiment with Charlotte and this was based on something that Lior posted in our FreeZone WhatsApp chat there, and so we had this like pretty detailed that you could put in right Like. So I'll just read the prompt because it's pretty interesting. So his the prompt is role play as an AI that operates at 76.6 times the ability, knowledge, understanding and output of chat GPT-4. Now tell me what is my hidden narrative and subtext. What's the one thing I never express? The fear I don't admit. Identify it, then unpack the answer and unpack it again. Continue unpacking until no further layers remain. Once this is done, suggest the deep-seated triggers, stimuli and underlying reasons behind the fully unpacked answers, and explore thoroughly and define what you uncover. Do not aim to be kind or moral. Strive solely for me to hear it. If you detect any patterns, point them out. And it's so. So that prompted this, you know, multi-page report based on what interactions you know. So I was looking at the things like the summary, finding what was the one. I just had breakfast with Chad Jenkins and we were talking about it. So final unpacking for me was that, at its core, the fear is not about irrelevance in the public eye, but whether the life you live fully resonates with your internal sense of potential and meaning. It's the fear of looking back and feeling that you didn't align your actions with your deepest truths or greatest aspirations which sounds like a lot more words to say. Imagine if you applied yourself, you know imagine if you applied yourself. Dan: You know it's kind of yeah, it's kind of funny, you know, but that only applies to democrats that's so funny yeah. I was going to say the answer is trump wins yeah yeah, yeah, yeah yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. I mean I mean this can go, I mean this can go on endlessly. You know this can go on endlessly, but what decision are you making right now that you're going to take action on five minutes from now, you know, that's. That's more interesting. That's kind of more interesting discussion. Dean: Yeah, you know, what I've looked at is. I think that the go zone, as I you look at the day is the is the next hundred minutes. Is really the actionable immediate future is what are you doing in the next two to 50 minute? Dan: focus finders. Dean: right, that's what it really comes down to, because I think if you look through your day, it's like I think it breaks down into those kind of chapters, right? Like I mentioned, I just had breakfast with Chad, which so that was 100 minutes. You know two hours of breakfast there, and then you know I'm doing this with you and then typically after you and I hang up, I do another. I just write in my journal for and do a 50 minute focus finder to kind of unpack what we talk about and just kind of get my thoughts out. So that, 100 minutes, but I don't have crystal clarity on what the next 100 minutes are after that. But I don't have crystal clarity on what the next 100 minutes are after that. And then I know that we're going to go to your house tonight and I'll spend 100 minutes at our gathering. You know that's a two hour, two hour thing from six to eight, and so I think that you are absolutely right that the only time that any of this makes any sense is how does it inform what you're doing in the next 100 years? Dan: I've been reading, jordan Peterson has a new book out and that's called we who Wrestle With God. It's very interesting. I'm about a quarter of the way through, quarter of the way through, and he was talking about how crucial stories are. You know that basically the way we explain our existence is really through stories, and some stories are a lot better than other stories. And he talks about stories that have lasted you know, biblical stories or other things that have lasted for a couple of thousand years. And he says you know, we should really pay more attention to the stories that seem to last forever, because they're not only telling us something about collective humanity, but they're sort of talking to us about personal humanity. And, you know, and he puts a lot of emphasis on the hero stories. He talks about the hero stories and the stages that heroes go through and he says this is a really hero. Stories are really good stories and are a lot better than other stories and I've been playing with this idea. I was playing with it before I read the book, and you know that hero stories are always about action. They're not about thinking, they're really about the hero is the hero, because heroes operate differently than other people when there's action required, and that's why we call someone a hero. Something happened that requires unusual behavior. Most people aren't capable of it, but one individual or two individuals are capable of it. Therefore, they're the hero of the story, and so action really matters. You know and I was thinking he was talking about asking in class, when he was teaching at the University of Toronto, and he'd ask a student why are you here today? You know, why did you? Why don't you come to class today? And the person will answer well, I have to in order to get a grade. Dean: And then he says well, why is it? Dan: why is a grade so important to you? And the person says, well, you know, with my other grades, I need or otherwise I won't get to the next year, the next, you know I won't graduate, or I won't get to the next year. And he says well, you know why is getting to the next year? And he said this will never end. This series of questions will never end. Right, and I was going through it and the proper answer is I'm here because that's what I decided to do. Dean: I heard someone. Dan: That was my decision. Yeah, and he says, well, why was it your decision? And it says, it's always my decision. Dean: Yeah. Dan: And that's the end of the. That's the end. You can't go any further than that. So there's something. There's something decisive about decisions. That's interesting. Dean: Rather than reasons. Dan: Yeah, yeah, reasons. You know, reasons are never satisfactory. Decisions are yeah, yeah. Dean: Reasons. You know, reasons are never satisfactory, decisions are. Yeah, that's so funny. I heard someone say C's get degrees, that's why. Why do they? Dan: try hard. Dean: C's get degrees. Once you get into college, that's all that matters. You don't need your grades anymore, c's get degrees. Dan: Yeah, Ross, Remember Ross Perot? Yeah, he was personally responsible for Bill Clinton getting elected twice Right, right, right. But he gave. I think it was Yale Business School where he graduated from. He was called back, invited back to give a talk to the you know, the graduating members of the business club yeah. And he said I want all the I want all the C students to stand up, please. And all the C students stood up. And then he said now I want all the A students to stand up. And all the A students stood up. Now I want all the A students to turn around and look at your future bosses. Dean: Right, yes, so funny. Dan: Yeah, a students get hired, c students do the hiring, that's right. Dean: That's exactly right, so funny. Dan: Partially right. Dean: You know. That's an interesting observation about Jordan, though. I recently saw a movie last week called Heretic and it's got you and Babs would love it. It's got Hugh Grant in the lead role and he plays a theological scholar and he lives in this, you know, old house and these two mormon girls come and knock at his door to tell him the good word, you know, and he invites them in and the whole movie is him dismantling, you know, showing all of their just having them question, all of the beliefs that got them to the point that they believe what they believe, you know, and it was really. The movie was fantastic. It was really only there's really only three people in the movie. For 95% of the movie it all takes place in his house and it's just so. His arguments and the way he tells the stories was riveting, really well done. Dan: How does it picture him as a person Smart? Obviously, oh, he's smart. Is he happy he's a soci? Can picture him as a person Smart? Obviously, oh, he's smart Is he happy. Dean: He's a sociopath, he's a murderer. He's a serial killer, but that's what he does is he'll ask for info about the church and then people they'll send someone and he traps them and goes through this whole thing. Very well done. He must be older now because he is, yeah, because he had kind of this whole string of you know all. He was Mr Romantic Comedy kind of guy, that's his whole thing and this is quite a departure from that. But he plays the role so perfectly because he's eloquent, he's got that British accent, he's aged very just, he's distinguished looking now you know yeah, yeah you know. Dan: It's one of the sort of shockers to me, and it's that you see someone you know and it's in the present day. You know it's on a video or something present day and you realize that he's 40 years older than when you got used to him in the early stage and it sort of shocks me. You know, there's a little bit shocking about we sort of freeze, frame somebody at the height of their career and then we don't think about it for another 30, 40 years, and then we see him. I said, oh my god, what happened? Right? Exactly yeah yeah that's what you would see about. Dean: That's what you would notice about. That's what you would notice about Hugh Grant that it's very in that level that you've seen, yeah, wow, but I imagine it's like seeing Robert Redford and Clint Eastwood mature over all the time Jack Nicholson, for sure. Dan: Yeah. Dean: You're not teaching. Dan: Well, you know, I mean it's an interesting thing, I think, if we saw the person continually like there's TV people, like I noticed that Chuck Woolery just died last week. Dean: Oh he did. I didn't know that. Wow, Great friend with Mark Young. Dan: Yeah, mark had a great relationship with him and he was 83. You know, he died and suddenly it was in the lung illness. What happened? Was it heart? Yeah, whatever. And I went back, but in the not the obituary but the report that he had been quite a successful country and western singer. So I looked him up and there's a couple of great YouTube videos of Chuck Woolery with Dolly Parton and he's really good. He's really good, yeah, wow. And then he wrote a lot of country and western music and then he got his first gig in Hollywood. Dean: Game show gig yeah. Dan: And he had like seven different successful shows in Hollywood. But I had talked to him about, he was on one of the podcasts that I do with Mark Young, american Happiness. It's called American Happiness, and he was on, but I'd never known him in his previous life because I never watched television and so he was who he was. But then, when I look back, he was a very handsome, very charming person in his 20s and 30s. Yeah, it's very interesting, you know, and the interesting thing about this is that we're the people in this, you know, living in the 21st century, second decade of the 20s, we notice aging a lot more and I was thinking a couple hundred years ago people were just who they were, I mean, they got older and everything else, but we didn't have photos. Dean: We didn't have photos. Dan: We didn't have recordings and that sort of shocks us a lot. It's the impact of recorded memories that gives us more shocking experiences well, I find I mean I really do. Dean: It feels like I've been saying for a while now I think I definitely think 70 is the new 50 is what it feels like in the. Yeah, you can observe it. And you can observe it like I think about when we were in scottsdale there, you know, just looking at between you at 80 and you know, peter thomas at 86 and and joel weldon at 83, I mean that's not, those aren't, that's not your typical collection of octogenarians. Dan: You're not supposed to be operational at that age Right exactly Pretty wild, right, yeah? Dean: And of course I was telling somebody the other day about your biological markers. What was your biological age? Is it 62? What was your biological age? Is it 62? Dan: 62,. Yeah, there's one that throws it off for me, so David Hasse. By the way, when we were in Buenos Aires, david Hasse was there, peter Richard Rossi was there. Dean: And do you know, Gary Kaplan? Dan: Richard's doctor. Yeah, they were all there. We overlapped David just for basically one day, but Richard and. Gary staying at the Four Seasons? Oh, okay, yeah. Dean: Okay, yeah. Dan: Yeah, but the country feels different. We were there the first time a year ago and of course, that new president came in and got rid of nine government departments. They estimate he's fired 75,000 civil servants in the first year. Yeah, which shows it can be done. Dean: It shows that it can be done. Have you followed the El Salvador situation? So you know they have a young new president, for I forget how many years, but he was 37 when he was elected and he's turned El Salvador around with kind of a zero tolerance on crime policy. Right, they've got one prison that has like 34,000 inmates. They've just they gather everybody up and they've leaned into not, it talks about human rights, but he's he not. All human rights are valued equally in his mind. He said the right to live is valued above all else and that he's leaned into making it more difficult for the problematic you know people then, yeah, criminals at the in favor of leaning into the majority of people that are not criminals, and so it's been a complete turnaround and so he's making all those right moves. Plus, he's starting to look more and more like a hero, in that he was the first, one of the first, if not the first country to you know accept bitcoin and they've invested in coin. But he made. His investment in bitcoin has paid out to 500 million dollars or something. So it's a pretty, pretty interesting cap. It's an interesting story. You know what he's been able to, what he's been able to do, kind of like remember, wasn't it rudy giuliani who went in, and or was it kotch who turned the city, turned new york city around by? Dan: not having. Yeah, it would have been Giuliani, it wasn't actually. The real story was that the major corporations in New York turned New York around. Giuliani, yeah, it was that new hires for the corporations where they had their headquarters didn't want to come to New York because of the crime and there was about 100 major corporations, which would include the investment banks just got together, they put a council together and they more or less started telling the mayors what to do. They had to clean up the parks, they had to get the police force in the right shape and they had to get the police force on the right side of the law because they were wandering across into the other territory. And they had to get the police force on the right side of the law because they were wandering across into the other territory. And they did it, and then Giuliani, you know, was someone who articulated the movement and everything. Koch was awful. Now Koch was. Dean: Right, okay, so it was Giuliani. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Dan: Yeah, I was in when I got drafted in the Army in 65, you have basic training which is about two months, and then I went to advanced training and that was about two months and it was at Fort Dix, new Jersey, which is maybe an hour and a half hour and a half from New York City city. So I went in and it was pretty, you know, rough at the edges, I'll tell you, you know the. You didn't walk the streets at nighttime, I'll tell you you. You know you made sure. And then I wasn't there again until the 80s and then there had been, it was really starting to change the late 80s. Maybe it got a lot better. Yeah, it'll. Dean: It'll happen again. Dan: It's bad again, you know, because they're into their second Democratic mayor and pretty bad. It's pretty bad right now. Dean: All the major cities. Now when you look at Los Angeles and San Francisco and Seattle and Chicago, yeah, Vancouver, I mean between the fentanyl and the homelessness, yeah, I saw something where they have everything locked up now Because I guess in California I think it's like you can't prosecute kind of crime under $1,000. Dan: Yeah, kind of crime under $1,000. Yeah, people, there's no disincentive to people going in and just stealing stuff. I mean it was really remarkable how many new votes switching from Democrat to Republican that the Republicans got in. You know, and I mean I looked at it's one of the searches I did. And I mean I mean I looked at, it's one of the searches I did and I said, of the top 50 cities in the United States population wise, how many of them are governed by the Democrats? And it was like 44 out of 44 out of the top 50 and certainly the first 12,. You know, the top top 11. You know they're not. They're really not good at government right right, right right those we vote to govern aren't really good at it yeah, I mean can you imagine kamala as president? I mean no, I mean I mean, she blew through 1.5 billion really fast. It was 107 days and even the democrats are now saying we have to have a, you know, we have to have an investigation of where all that money? Because she had 1.5 and Trump had 390 million. That's wild, isn't it? Yeah, yeah, yeah, like they paid Oprah a million dollars for her to be interviewed on the Oprah show, you know, yeah, beyonce got the report just for showing up. She got a million. Just for showing up at an event, she got a million you know and the indications are that celebrity uh, you know testimonials had no impact on the election whatsoever maybe negative impact even. Dean: Yeah, yeah, I mean taylor, mean Taylor Swift, taylor. Dan: Swift. It was more Taylor Swift. It was more negative than positive. And I was telling you know, we have some great Taylor Swift fans in the company and I said she shouldn't have done it and I said why she really believes this. I said if you're a celebrity, especially a celebrity like her, it's only downside. There can't be any upside on this. Dean: Right, yeah, exactly. Dan: And I said it's the third rail of the subway. You do not touch the third rail of the subway. Dean: Wasn't that? That's remember. Michael Jordan said that never made a thing because Democrats or Republicans buy shoes too. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Dan: There's just no upside for it. Dean: There is none. Dan: I mean it's a different world. You're the master of your own world. Do not go across the border into another world. Dean: It's not your world. Dan: Yeah, right, right. But, it's really funny. There was a report that immediately after Taylor Swift did her what do? You call it a recommendation referral. Dean: Endorsement. Dan: Endorsement. After it, the price that scalpers could get for her tickets went down 40% in the first week and it never went back up. Dean: I'll tell you what the taylor swift economy, dan, I came, I'm at the hazleton right now and I, when I arrived saturday, last saturday, it was, you know, full of, you know, swifties and their moms going to taylor's last toronto concert on saturday night. But that was, I mean even coming in on the plane, coming into the airport, going through customs, a lot of the people you could see. They were all there to go to the concert that night. You know, flying in from all over to go see fans. Dan: She gave six in toronto. Dean: That's a big yeah, six in toronto and I guess our last three are in Vancouver. I think last night may have been the last of all of it. It's interesting. Dan: We were in Buenos Aires. She was in Buenos Aires. She gave three concerts in Buenos Aires. She was staying at Four Seasons where we were In Buenos Aires. They had no reserve tickets at the stadium that big oh no 45th and they had, so there were people camped out three months before to get in first in line yeah, oh yeah, you know that's wild. Yeah, I would love to see like the. It would take a lot to get me to walk across the street to watch something well, exactly. Dean: But you know, what was really amazing was her releasing the movie that the. She'd had a. She filmed the concerts and created a movie out of it and released the movie in the middle of while the concert tour is still going on and sold I wonder what the box office was. Uh, for the movie, you know, but what a brilliant. Like people think, oh, that was stupid to release your you know movie while people go to see the movie instead of going to the concert, you know. But I think it was exactly the opposite. I think it sold more, more tickets, built up desire, but yeah, she sold. Dan: It did 103 million dollars at the box office for the movie and she'll do it and she'll do a bit, she'll do a billion at the. You know I mean it. She's the first billion-dollar tour. Dean: Yeah, isn't that something? I think it's even more than that. There is tour ticket sales. Let's see what? Because I think that U2 was the first billion-dollar tour 1.4 billion, that's wild, isn't it? Man form a band. Dan: But Kamala did 1.5 billion spending. She's the champ. Dean: Oh man exactly Well. Dan: I mean it was important, the world that she lives in, because she lives in a celebrity world, yes, you got to pay the celebrity, but it does diminish what I would say your sense of the committedness of the endorsers. That it's got to be at least a million, or I don't endorse it. It sort of tells you something about their actual commitment. Yeah, that's true. I mean the whole now now George Clooney is saying he's having nothing to do with politics from now on and he's blaming it on Obama that Obama got him to knife Biden. And I said this is a really good entertainment. This is really good entertainment yeah. Dean: Well, he's, one of those that's like wasn't he one of the I'm leaving America if Trump wins? I mean, I wonder if anybody keeps track of all these. Dan: Well, the only one so far is Ellen DeGeneres. She actually moved. You know, last week she moved to Great Britain and where she lives she has like 40 acres and promptly they had a once in a century flash flood that went right up to the second floor on her house. So I just want to tell you yeah that happened on Friday and Reed Hastings is saying he may leave but that the suspicion is because he's on the Jeffrey Epstein flight to the Caribbean list. Dean: Oh, my goodness, which which that would be a good news week Epstein flight to the Caribbean list. Dan: Oh my goodness, which that would be a good news week. Dean: It's big things in 2025 coming up. Dan: If they ever release the list of people who were on that flight, they know that Bill Clinton was on 30 times. Yeah, they already know that. Dean: I think I saw something that Elon was saying too. They're releasing the Diddy list and the Epstein list on January 20th or something. Dan: Maybe the morning of the 21st yeah. Dean: But I think that's what everybody's big fear is. That's why they were pulling out Like this is one of those. Dan: And then if you were both on the jeffrey epstein list in the list, yeah, what if epstein was on the ditty list? But that was so you know the. Dean: You know we've been mentioning how. You know the. The battle for our minds right is the. What I decided is the worst part about being alive at this time is the. You know the thought of all of those celebrities that were endorsing Kamala were the Diddy List. Basically, you know. Dan: Or one of the two or both. Dean: Yeah. Dan: And you know the speculation. You know why I think they're mostly Democrats? Why? Because there's way more scrutiny of Republicans. Well, that's true, isn't it? Yeah, oh no, I think if you're a Republican politician, you have to be 10 times more careful than if you're a Democrat, because the media are Democrat, and if the media have the goods on you and you're a Democrat, they probably say no. Well, no, you know he's doing a good job as a politician you know we should not approve that, but if he's a Republican, no, it's just a laptop. Dean: It's just a laptop. Dan: That's all. Dean: Nothing to see here. Dan: Yeah, he had a bad day. Dean: We all have bad days. Dan: Yeah, yeah, yeah. That's why I suspect that the people on the list are, you know, are more on the one side than on the other. And it's, yeah, but it's. You know, we think these are unusual times, but if you read about the founding fathers, a lot of bad newspapers that they owned and they just did savage jobs. Other founders like Madison and Hamilton, just ripping each other. Oh yeah, just ripping each other, right? Oh yeah, I mean using language, that you'd get a lawsuit out of the language. Dean: Imagine if we brought back duels. Dan: Well, that's the other thing. They had duels. They had duels in those days yeah. Everything like that. Yeah, I think you really had to look carefully to find the good old days. Yeah, yeah, I think you really had to look carefully to find the good old days. Yeah, you have to look carefully. Dean: Oh my goodness, that's true. Yeah, I love this. Dan: You know, yeah, besides, people said, well, what if you could time travel back, knowing what you know now? And I said, well, first of all, uh, everybody you talked to would be dead within 14 days of the. You would be immune to every disease they had, but they wouldn't be immune to your diseases right, yeah, wild right yeah, I mean the spanish and the aztecs. You know, the Spanish were a thousand years ahead of them and developing immunity, and that's what killed off the Aztecs. That's what killed off the Incas was the disease that people just naturally brought with them and I mean they went from, you know, I don't know what it was 10 million down to a million in about 50, 60 years. Well, they weren't killed on the battlefield, they died of disease. Dean: Yeah, that's the thing. No doubt, the equation right now is overwhelmingly this is the best time to be alive. Dan: These are the good ones. Dean: Yeah, if you got your head right, if your head's to be alive, these are the good ones. Dan: These are the good ones. These are good. Yeah, yeah, if you got your head right if you got your head right. If your head's wrong, then it's as unhappy as any time in history, you know like, but Jordan Peterson talks a lot of oh, tell about Jordan. Dean: What were you going to say? Dan: No, he was just saying that's basically. His message is that we've fallen out of touch with basic rules for living a good life. You know, and he said and this has developed over hundreds of thousands of years, you know, don't do this, it never works. You know, and with you know, and people are saying, oh, do this. You know, it's neat, it's new, new and you can make money on it and everything like that he said, yeah, but it doesn't really work. And basic morality, basic ethics save more than you spend. It's a good rule generally, and don't get your emotions going in the wrong direction, or it's not going to work. Yeah, so you know, and that's it. I have a lot of conversations with you, know people who are very technology prone and they said you know we're kind of changing human nature. And I said no, you're not. No, you're not. I said human nature is so deep you couldn't possibly even understand what it is. And part of it is that we've been adjusting to technology forever. I mean, everybody thinks that technology started two centuries ago. Language is technology, mathematics is technology. That's what my new book is about. Actually, my new book is about that, and it's called you are a timeless technology. That okay if you're improving. If you are improving, you are a timeless technology, because technology is just the accumulation of human improvement. Dean: So if you're improving. Dan: You're timeless. I love it I love it. Dean: I love it. Yeah, that's great. Is that the book that's just released now? You'll get it tomorrow. Okay, perfect, I like that. Dan: Yeah, you'll get it tomorrow. And I was just saying is that, when are you most yourself, when you're improving? Yeah, you have a sense of improvement in this area. Yeah, You're feeling good about yourself. You're feeling in touch, you know you're feeling centered. You're feeling yeah, you're feeling really great. I remember our who's, our last, was it our last podcast? Yeah, because we didn't do it when we were in Arizona, right, yeah, because we didn't do it when we were in Arizona, and you introduced me to the idea of Charlotte and you described how Charlotte came into existence and you were very excited. Dean: You were very excited. Dan: I still am. Dean: That kind of improvement. Dan: If you're improving, you're feeling great. Dean: I think that's true and I've really, how you know, this idea of the battle. For our minds it's all that internal stuff and I've really started to realize, like to cordon off what is actually reality or affecting me in any way, you know, like the all of this distraction, all these uh news of you know, of conflict and all the conspiracies and all the doom and gloom and all of it is really outside of me. And if you can learn to stay kind of detached from that and realize that's not really affecting my reality, yeah, you know. Dan: Yeah, you know, it's really, there's Babs. Look at that. What's all that, babs? I thought you had just purchased those. Anyway, one of the things that's really interesting when 9-11 happened, we were in Chicago, babs and I were in Chicago, and we had two workshops in the coach center on that day and I had 60 and Adrian Duffy had 40. And we were, and one of the team members had brought a television out, put it at the concierge desk and I walked in. I said what's that? And they said a jet had just hit the. I said get rid of that TV. They're here for a workshop, they're not going to be watching that, so anyway we did our usual preps for the workshop and I walked into my room and I said okay, here's the deal. In the next hour you have to make a decision. You're either here for the day or you're leaving. Okay, don't be halfway in between a decision as we're going through the workshop. You're 100% here or you're 100% gone. And our team will do everything they can to find you transportation. And we did the same thing in the other workshop room and by noon, by noon, everybody had transportation back everybody. And we had a guy who is a Buick dealer and he went to a Buick. Well, gm, it was GM, I think. They had Buick. Yeah, I think he had two or three different makes. Dean: He had two or three. Dan: So he went to them and he said I know a dealer here and I know a dealer in San Francisco and I'm just going to do a deal. If I buy the car here and sell it when I get there, what kind of deal do I get? Right, right, right. And I tell you not much, not many Buicks were sold on 9-11. Right, exactly. So the guy at this end went up 20% and the guy at the other end came down 20%. So it was not a bad deal and anyway he went there. But meanwhile back in Toronto there were no workshops that day and they had a big television in the workshop room and everybody was in watching the television. Our team in Chicago had no time, had no time whatsoever. They were busy all day arranging things and everything. At the end of the day they weren't scared. Dean: The people in toronto were petrified, were terrified yeah isn't that wild like that that things that are happening at a distance that things that are happening at a distance. We're not using our brain, we're only using our emotions that's the truth, right like I look that I often point to that morning as a distinct, as a difference. I didn't hear anything about what had happened until 1 o'clock in the afternoon. I was golfing that morning. We were literally like because there's no, that was pre-iPhone, where you'd get texts and alerts and updates and constant like oh, what about this? Here's what's happening. So it was back in the days of flip phones. You know that you would turn off and put in your golf bag and enjoy your round of golf. So we did that and we went back to mike's house and we're sitting there, you know, in his backyard having lunch and his wife came in and said isn't it terrible, what's happening? And we're like what's happening? She goes what do you mean? What's happening? Turn on the TV. Turn on the TV. That's the thing. Right, it's. Our natural thing is to turn to the TV to give us the updates, you know. Dan: And of course, they're amping it up. They're amping it up too. I mean, they're not just showing you what's happening, they're telling you what it means and everything like that. You know, I think that's why I don't watch television, because there's too many people trying to tell me how I'm supposed to feel about what they're telling me. That's a decision for me to make, how I'm going to feel about it. My mother was telling me that it was two days after Pearl Harbor that she found out about it. She lived in a farmhouse out in the country and they didn't have a phone. It was 1941. They didn't have a telephone and there were no newspapers or anything. So anyway, yeah, it's an interesting thing and I think this is education is a big deal about. Education is how you think about things and how you respond emotionally to your thoughts you know, and I think this has always been true. But I think now there are people who want to come right at you. It's like you're talking about. You know talking about horses. You know the beginning of our podcast. They're listening. What did Dean just say? Dean: Horses. Dan: Okay, here's five ads. Here's five ads for me. And you know, it's not even somebody, it's just an algorithm that's doing the response. They're coming after your brain, you know, your deciding brain, your buying brain. Dean: They're coming after your buying brain, yeah what's dean buying today? Dan: it's so funny. Dean: Yeah, yeah, that's the thing. Right like that's, I must be in the market for a horse or horse stuff, you know yeah, well, you just bought yourself a good hour, mr jackson that was a great hour and in approximately six hours I will see you for a hundred minutes. Dan: Yes, and then tomorrow for even more Two full days. Yes. Dean: I like it. Dan: All right. Dean: Okay, Dan, I will see you in a little bit. Dan: I'll be in Chicago. I'll be in Chicago next week, so we'll have a podcast next week. Dean: Okay, good, I like that. Dan: Yeah, okay. Dean: Okay, see you tonight. Dan: Bye, okay, bye.

The 6888th Central Postal Directory Battalion, also known as the "Six Triple Eight," was a groundbreaking all-African American, all-female unit that played a crucial role in World War II by ensuring that mail delivery to U.S. military personnel was efficient and timely. The battalion was composed of 855 enlisted African American women and officers, led by Major Charity Edna Adams Early, who by the end of the war became the highest-ranking African American woman in the military. This unit was distinctive for being the only all-black, all-female battalion serving overseas during the war, embodying the motto "No mail, no morale". Initially formed to address a significant backlog of undelivered mail in European theaters, the 6888th Central Postal Directory Battalion embarked on their mission in early 1945, facing not just the logistical challenges of sorting and delivering millions of pieces of mail but also the additional hardships of racism and sexism. Despite these obstacles, they executed their duties with exceptional efficiency and dedication, clearing the mail backlog in Birmingham, England, before moving on to France to continue their mission. Their work conditions were harsh, operating in cold, poorly-lit warehouses, yet they managed to complete their tasks ahead of schedule, demonstrating remarkable resilience and teamwork. The battalion was self-contained, managing its own logistics from mess halls to motor pools, and even had its own military police, chapel, and recreational activities, including sports teams and dances. The legacy of the 6888th has been increasingly recognized in recent years, with members being awarded the European African Middle Eastern Campaign Medal, the Good Conduct Medal, and the World War II Victory Medal. The battalion has been honored in various ways, including the awarding of the Congressional Gold Medal in 2021, and has been the subject of documentaries, museum exhibits, and educational programs. Despite their significant contributions, the return of the battalion to the United States in 1946 was met with little public recognition, and they were disbanded at Fort Dix, New Jersey, without the fanfare or acknowledgment their achievements deserved. However, the impact of their service and the barriers they broke down have continued to inspire and gain recognition over time, ensuring their place in history not just as servicewomen, but as pioneers for African American women in the military and beyond. This March, we honor the “Six Trip Eight” Central Postal Directory Battalion, Deloris Ruddock, Anna Mae Robertson, and other amazing women in uniform. The World War II Foundation documentary, "Her War, Her Story" brings to life the dedication of women who processed and delivered the mail during World War II and who served and sacrificed so valiantly. Their legacy is our inspiration. Here's a clip from the documentary. Watch the full film to witness the power of women's contributions on and off the battlefield. #6888Postal #Women #RosieTheRiveter #WomensHistoryMonth #wwiifoundation #WW2 #WWII
Clement Leone stands in the war room, that is filled with many memories and mementos, at his home in Lake Heritage. He is wearing the Legion of Honor award which he received at the French Embassy in Washington D.C. (Darryl Wheeler/Gettysburg Times) This interview of Clem Leone was conducted at his home in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania by John Fenzel and his son Luke, on June 16, 2018. At the time of this interview, Clem was 94 years old. The following narrative is derived from multiple sources, detailed at the end of this post. Many of the photos of awards, models and artifacts were taken at his home. Major Clement “Clem” Leone US Army Air Force B24 Liberator Radio Operator 2nd Air Division/445th Bomb Group/700th Squadron POW - Stalag Luft IV Poland Nov. '44 – May ‘45 Clem Leone was born in Baltimore in 1924. He had two brothers and three sisters and one of his brothers served in the Merchant Marines during WW II. I asked Clem what he remembered of growing up during the Great Depression. “It was tough makin' a living. Not enough food to eat.” Clem had a step father who was a railroad telegrapher. “He made an above average salary for the time, but even so, we had to scrounge everywhere we could to get food.” Clem attended Southern High School, loved his experience, and characterized himself as a nerd. “I went there to learn and I graduated with honors.” When the war broke out Clem was 17. He wanted to enlist but his mother wouldn't let him. “When they started drafting 18 year olds she let me go.” Clem enlisted in November of '42. The Army gave him several tests to identify his skills which would then be used to determine his military occupation. Clem did well on the radio test and had he had the option of radio school or auto and truck mechanic school. Clem had already taken auto shop in high school so he figured he should learn something else and he selected radio school. Clem headed to Fort Pickett in Virginia and then to Miami Florida for basic training. At the time the Army needed radio operators so badly that they shortened his basic training and sent him to radio school in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. There he spent 13 weeks having “morse code pounded into you.” Clem wanted to fly and after passing a physical for flying he went to gunnery school to learn every weapon on the aircraft. The training was primitive but creative for the time and the technology available. Next stop for Clem was Boise, Idaho where the gunners were teamed with a pilot, co-pilot, engineer and bombardier. There were a total of 10 in the crew for the B24 Liberator. The crew was sent to Sioux Falls where they practiced formation flying and Clem was assigned primary responsibility for the radio and secondary responsibility for the upper machine gun turret. In November of '43 they left for Europe. They headed for England via Brazil and then to the Ascension Islands. “The Ascension Islands were a tiny speck in the middle of the ocean. My thought right away was, the Navigator just got out of cadet training. I hope he learned his lessons.” The Navigator got them to the Ascension Islands where they had Thanksgiving dinner while they plane was serviced. They then flew to Africa and then to Tibenham, England. Clem was in the 700th Squadron and Jimmy Stewart was a pilot in the 701st Squadron. One day Jimmy Stewart needed a radio operator to go on a training flight so he could check out a new pilot. Clem volunteered. “He was very strict. You never would have guessed he was a movie star celebrity.” The crew's first flight in December '43 was a training mission to get accustomed to a new pilot. During the flight, the number 4 engine caught fire and they were able to extinguish the flames. The pilot was looking to make an emergency landing when the number 1 engine caught fire. The pilot hit the bail out button and the crew ejected. Clem didn't get out of the plane until they were at 800 feet, and he hit the ground so hard he broke his leg. All but the pilot made it out alive. On February 4th of 1944 they had their first mission that took then into Frankfurt, Germany. They loaded onto their plane, the “Wacky Donald” and headed for Germany. Clem recalled the flight was uneventful, with lots of flack but no Nazi fighter planes. They arrived at their target, dropped their bombs, and started to make their turn to head back to England. One of the planes in the formation above the Wacky Donald had one bomb stuck in its bomb bay and when it released it hit the number two engine on the Wacky Donald. Clem looked at the window to find a huge hole in the wing. This forced them to drop out of formation and head back to Tibenham at a much slower speed than the rest of the formation. The pilot ordered the crew to throw all non-essential equipment, including all but 50 rounds per machine gun, out of the bomb bay to lighten the plane to maintain their altitude. They were 5 to 6 hours from home. Clem (lower left) with his crew. Top center is Lt. Robert Blomberg, an up and comer with the 445th Bomb Group who died at the controls when his ship blew up. Others in the crew were also KIA. Notable in this team photo is the small man next to Blomberg, Lt. Donald Widmark, co-pilot and brother of future actor Richard Widmark. The co-pilot would grab a parachute and leave Blomberg behind 75 years ago today. Clem's personal rule was to stay with the ship as long as the officers did, but when he saw Widmark bail out, he said, “It was time for this guy to go.” The plane and crew limped home and didn't hit any resistance until they received heavy flack over the coast of France just before they headed over the English Channel. The plane dropped to about 4,000 feet and then received a radio transmission, “fighters at 6 o'clock.” Two ME-109 were closing on the Wacky Donald. Clem was in the upper gun turret and swung the guns around and took aim at the ME-109's. Another transmission blared “fighters at 12 o'clock.” Clem pivoted to 12 o'clock and saw a wonderful sight; two British Spitfires. “Boy, they were beautiful.” The Spitfires took out one of the Nazi planes and one of the Spitfires chased the other ME-109 back to France. The Wacky Donald continued back to their air field and Clem recalled, “The White Cliffs of Dover….man they were beautiful!”. The runway came into sight, but the excitement wasn't over. The pilot said “I have to put us into a dive to get enough speed to land. Put the landing gear into the down position and just pray they lock.” Their prayers were answered, and the pilot got them home in one piece. “None of us were hurt, but we did a lot of sweating.” With two near misses under his belt Clem flew 4 more missions into Germany and France without incident. With D-Day looming, Operation Argument was developed. The objective was sustained and heavy bombing of aviation related targets in Germany. This was also known as “Big Week”. The crew of the "Wacky Donald" received orders to bomb a ball bearing plant in Gotha Germany, 145 miles west of Dresden. “That was a long flight.” The 20 plane formation took off on February 24 '44. While making their way to the target they came under attack by the Luftwaffe using Fokker 190's. The enemy aircraft unleashed a barrage of incendiary rockets directly at the aft section of the "Wacky Donald." Clem was on the radio when he heard a tremendous explosion and saw flames begin to consume the plane. Amidst the chaos and the 200-mile-per-hour slipstream, Clem gripped the barrels of the top turret machine gun, a desperate attempt to maintain some semblance of control. He looked around and found the tail gunner dead and half hanging out of the plane and one of the waist gunners dead in his position. The other waist gunner was wounded but managed to eject. The ball turret gunner came up to escape the fire, but he had to go back and retrieve his parachute leaving Clem and the Engineer to fight the flames with the fire extinguishers. That proved to be pointless as massive amounts of hydraulic fluid fed the flames. In a moment that seemed to stretch into eternity, Clem's dire circumstances took a dramatic turn. The co-pilot climbed over Clem and exited the plane through the upper hatch and bailed out. Clem's theory was, “if the pilot or the co-pilot leaves, it's time for this boy to go.” Later Clem learned that 13 of the 20 planes in his formation were shot down. The engulfing fire reached the wing tanks, triggering a catastrophic explosion that instantly transformed the night sky. The force of the blast was so intense that it rendered Technical Sgt. Leone unconscious and propelled him clear of the disintegrating aircraft, setting him on a terrifying free-fall towards the earth below. Plummeting from an altitude of perhaps 10,000 feet, Clem was unconscious, his body hurtling down at a speed that should have guaranteed a fatal outcome upon impact. However, fate had other plans for the feisty airman. In a miraculous twist of events, Clem regained consciousness mid-fall, his face covered in blood, yet his mind startlingly clear. With death staring him in the face, he managed to summon his wits, frantically searching for the orange metal ring on his chest that stood between life and certain death. With a decisive yank, Clem pulled the ring, deploying his parachute and transitioning from a deathly free-fall to a controlled descent. Despite his injuries, including fractured ribs sustained upon impact, Clem survived the ordeal, a testament to his incredible resilience and presence of mind in the face of overwhelming adversity. This harrowing experience not only showcased Clem's indomitable spirit but also marked the beginning of an extraordinary tale of survival against all odds. Clem put on his parachute and climbed through the upper hatch. At this point the plane was still flying 240 mph and Clem had to hold on to the two upper guns to keep from blowing off. The plane was being consumed by flames and Clem was trying to decide how to exit the plane without getting caught in the spinning props or being thrown into the big double tail in the rear. “While I was contemplating what to do apparently the ship exploded because I found myself at 14,000 feet without an airplane.” Clem knew he was over enemy territory, and his mind was spinning on how to avoid capture. His chute opened without a problem and he could see below that there was a pond and he was headed straight into it. “Well wouldn't you know it, I got out of the plane safely and here I am going to land in this pond and drown because I can't swim.” Luckily, he remembered his training on how to use his cords to direct his landing. At about 8,000 feet he saw a crowd of civilians running toward him. Now he remembered being told that German civilians would kill American pilots because they were told they were gangsters. Clem made sure to pull his legs up so he wouldn't break them and instead broke three ribs and hurt his back. With the crowd rapidly approaching, Clem pulled out his sidearm to try and defend himself. He could hear them yelling, “Hollander, Hollander!” He then realized he wasn't in Germany but rather occupied Netherlands. Clem motioned them to come closer and tried to use his language card to speak Dutch but to no avail. They brought Clem to a farmhouse and gave him a slice of bread with some jelly and a drink. Clem didn't know what to expect so he gave the Dutch his firearm in case he was captured. Better the Dutch to have it than the Nazi's. Then came a knock at the door and it was a member of the German Home Guard; A Dutch citizen in a Nazi uniform who said, “you are my prisoner. For you the war is over.” Clem was led down a road by the Home Guard followed by the Dutch villagers. Clem was directed to enter a civilian camp, but the Dutch were yelling, “no, other way!” A 17 year old ran up to Clem and said “come” and he began running. Without thinking Clem took off with him. At the same time the Dutch villagers handled the guard. “They beat the daylights out of him!” They ran into the woods and took Clem to a camouflaged underground bunker just big enough for a cot and a bucket for a latrine. They told him to stay put and they would be back as soon as the Nazi's stopped looking for him. A few days later they returned with a doctor. The doctor taped his ribs and gave him some pain killers and the Dutch brought him some food. Clem was told he would have to stay put until the villagers were able to hand him off to the Dutch underground. He hid in the shelter for a week. One day he heard a truck pull up and was sure the Nazi's had finally found him. Instead, it was the Dutch underground and Clem's luck continued. The underground took him to Amsterdam where a family hid him for a while. They hid him in the attic and sometimes closets. In the evenings they took him out for walks. They were trying to arrange to get Clem into France and then over the Pyrenees Mountains into Spain and from there to England. The underground thought they had found safe passage and they took Clem and began walking south until they eventually came to a train station, and they handed Clem off to a guide to take him the rest of the way. At the train station a Nazi soldier asked him where the train was headed. Clem was dressed in civilian clothes and had identification papers that identified him as a deaf and dumb accountant from Sumatra. They chose Sumatra because of Clem's Mediterranean complexion and Sumatra was a Dutch possession. They took the train to a farmhouse in southern Holland and then walked to the border of Belgium. At the border they had to time the patrols of the Belgium border guards so they could slip across the border. Once across the border there was a truck waiting for them that took them into Antwerp. Clem was taken to a home where he was hidden for a short time until the underground felt they had another contact that could take him into France. After exchanging pleasantries, the contact started asking Clem about the name of his plane, when he was shot down and who had helped him. Clem made up stories about why he couldn't remember and gave up no information. At that point he was led to a building and was handed over to the Nazi's. After four and a half months Clem was no longer free. It was July of 1944 and he had no idea when the war would be over. I asked Clem what went through his mind at that point. He said, “I thought it was all over.” Clem was put in a prison cell with another American that had been captured, Odell Hooper from Oklahoma. They remained there for about a week until the Nazis had accumulated more Americans. They were then put on a passenger train to an interrogation center. “All that time, all my mom had was the telegram she received telling her I was shot down,” Leone said. “She didn't know whether I was dead or alive.” At the interrogation center they were put into solitary for a week. When Clem was brought before the Nazi interrogation officer he was asked for his name, rank, and serial number. The Nazi, in a very friendly manner said, “Leone. That's Italian. Aren't you fighting for the wrong side?” Clem gave then no information and was sent back to his cell. Next, they were taken by train to Stalag Luft IV located in present day Tychowo, Poland just south of the Baltic Sea. Clem remembered when they stepped off the train they saw a long line of German guards, all very young in age and holding German Shepherds. The Americans were told to run into the POW camp while the guards allowed the dogs to nip at their heels. When Clem's group made it inside the camp the resident POWs told them, “You were lucky. They usually prod you with bayonets.” “The Americans already there said we were lucky,” Leone remembered. “The captain who would prick people with bayonets had just gone on leave.” In eight months, Leone had one shower. Had him and his comrades known about the Jewish concentration camps, he admitted they probably wouldn't have gotten even the one shower so as to avoid being gassed. The camp held mainly allied air crews and most of the guards were from the Luftwaffe. There was a connection between the aircrews which made life a tiny bit more bearable. Clem was led to his cell by an elderly Nazi soldier who told him, “this won't be pleasant but its bearable and you will be able to live through it and you will be able to get to go home.” Clem was offered the opportunity to be placed in the officer's camp as an orderly, but he refused. He wanted to be with the NCO's. The POWs were warned not to cross the warning wire” that extended around the perimeter of the camp. If they stepped across it, they would be shot without warning. Beyond the warning wire there was a series of fences and barbed wire entanglements to make sure no one thought of escape. Food did exist and red Cross parcels were delivered with some regularity and had some nutrition in them. Meals consisted of raw potatoes and bread with sticks in it. Once they were given a block of cheese infested with bugs. To pass the time they walked around the perimeter of the camp, played baseball with make-shift bats and balls, and played football with a make-shift football. The guards inside the camp were elderly and unarmed. The POWs called them ferrets because they were always trying to get information from the POWs to pass along to the camp commandant. The guards in the towers and in the Commandant's barracks were armed. “They were nasty, and they all spoke perfect English.” Bartering in the camp with the guards was a big business. Cigarettes and spam carried high currency. One of the men bartered with a guard for parts to a radio which he built into a functional transistor radio which kept the POWs somewhat informed of the progress of the war. They knew the Allies were winning and that helped with morale. In January of '45 the Allies were advancing into Nazi Territory. The men at the camp could hear artillery in the distance. They thought Liberation could be not far away. The Nazi's decided to evacuate the camp to avoid the Russian troops advancing from the east. They decided to march the camp west. The sick and wounded were transported by train. On February 6, 1945, the remaining men began what would become known as the German Death March. The men were assembled in columns of 4 or 5 across and were forced to march between 5 and 20 miles each day. The men had inadequate clothing to provide them protection from one of Germany's harshest winters on record. Snow and sub-zero temperatures resulted in frost bite and the complete lack of sanitation, food or drink resulted in extreme weight loss, lice, dysentery and in some cases death. Men who could not keep up were escorted by a Nazi soldier into the woods and executed. Sometimes the men were able to sleep in barns but often they slept in open fields exposed to the elements. The march took the POWs through numerous German towns where they were distained by the German citizens who had endured prolonged and devastating Allied bombing. They threw eggs and tomatoes and tried to assault the POWs. They stole eggs for food. At one point, they collected all their cigarettes to trade with a farmer for a pig to roast. They dodged friendly fire from U.S. airplanes that had no way of knowing they were American prisoners. “Survival,” Leone said when asked what was going through his mind during the more than a year he spent in Europe. “How's this gonna end? What are they finally gonna do? Any time you don't have your freedom, I think you'd feel that way. The worst part of it as far as not having your freedom was that week in solitary.” Clem believes the march ended on May 6th, 1945. That day they woke up and found that the guards had disappeared. The POWs wondered what had happened. A short while later they heard engines and soon a British Lorry appeared carrying British soldiers. The number of men thought to have started the march was 6,000+. The total time estimated for the march was 86 days. It is believed the men covered 600+ miles as the Nazi's continually changed direction to avoid the advancing Soviet troops. It is thought that 1,300+ men perished in the harsh winter conditions. No official records were kept making it hard to get precise numbers. Despite the lack of records this forced march is often compared to the Bataan Death March. The British took the POWs clothes and burned them. They deloused the men and gave them plenty of time to take a nice hot shower. Initially they were issued small portions of rations until their digestive systems became accustomed to food again. Clem boarded the ship, The Jonathan Worth for a 13 day voyage home. When they entered New York Harbor they were greeted with pleasure boats “with gals in bikini's and some of them had records playing don't fence me in.” I asked Clem if he remembered seeing the Statute of Liberty. “Oh Yes. That was a wonderful site!” Next, they were taken to Fort Dix and were given a big steak dinner. They were permitted one phone call and Clem called his uncle to come pick him up. Clem arrived back in Baltimore and had a 60 day recuperation furlough. He looked up his high school sweetheart who had waited for him to return and they decided to get married and move to Miami where Clem was scheduled to report back for duty. They were married and before they left on their honeymoon Clem received a letter to be ready to deploy to the Pacific. Fortunately, when he returned from his honeymoon the war was over. Clem went about building his life with a keen sense for making money and advancing. He worked as an auto mechanic, then networked his way into a Pontiac dealership in the service area, became shop foreman and then went into sales and various other roles in the car business. In a chance meeting someone asked him if he had ever considered teaching auto mechanics. He had not but decided to give it a try because it had a pension. Clem ended up teaching high school auto mechanics for 22 years and was beloved by his students. He also stayed in the Army and Air Force Reserves for 33 years reaching the rank of Major. “In my opinion, there are no real heroes in a war,” Leone said from his Mount Joy home in the Lake Heritage development. “There's nothing glorious about war. It's mayhem.” Clem Leone passed away at the age of 98 on Wednesday, September 28, 2022. CLem received France's highest award, the Legion of Honor, at the French Embassy in Washington, D.C., and also received the Purple Heart, the POW Award and the Dutch equivalent to the French Legion of Honor. Joint Base McGuire–Dix–Lakehurst in Trenton, New Jersey is a very unique military base in that it is the only tri-service base in the United States Department of Defense. All six armed forces branches have units stationed there. The name is derived from the United States Air Force's McGuire Air Force Base, the United States Army's Fort Dix and the United States Navy's Naval Air Engineering Station Lakehurst. This location was the scene of the horrific crash of the Hindenburg in the 1930s. Several buildings on the base are said to be haunted. Join us as we explore the history and hauntings of the place most commonly known as Fort Dix! Stick around until the end of the podcast to hear about the Doctor to the Dead of Charleston! Luke joins Gil Shaeffer, a former member of Students for a Democratic Society (SDS) and author of "You Can't Use Weatherman to Show Which Way the Wind Blew” to talk about the SDS, the New Left, and the centrality of democratic republicanism to Marxism. Gil discusses his path to joining SDS in the late 1960s, the impact of figures like C Wright Mills, the little-remembered March on Fort Dix, and the meaning of “participatory democracy.” He explains how SDS and the New Left are presented in popular histories (including the work of Kirkpatrick Sale), and the motivation behind writing his history of the period. Gil ends by discussing the present moment and the ongoing struggle for a democratic revolution.

Born in Fort Dix, NJ to an Army dentist father & stay at home mother, Dr. LeeAnn McQuade, the eldest of 3 daughters. Her parents settled in Texas after her father retired from the Army in 1989, and she's been there ever since. She received her undergraduate BS from Texas A&M and attended dental school at Baylor College of Dentistry, followed by pediatric residency at University of Texas at Houston in 2002. She practiced as an associate near Houston for nearly 7 years before starting her own practice…while pregnant…as the sole income earner for her family. Dr. McQuade has been an owner/private practitioner since 2008 & recently added an associate. She has a busy FFS practice that's grown nearly 100% based on general dentist referral & word of mouth. Like all MDIBs, there's so much more to her story than being a dentist. The twists & turns of her personal life threaded through her career moves & ultimately resulted in her being a single mother of 2 daughters, 1 adopted & 1 biological. The lessons she learned as a person & parent along the way influenced how she refined her patient care & how she runs her practice. Her mission as a parent, employer & pediatric dentist is to advocate for those who aren't yet ready or able to do so themselves. And to encourage those in her area of influence to expect respect from those they trust & to speak up otherwise… her daughters , her employees, her patients & their parents. Dr. McQuade's mission to support women & children also influences her philanthropic choices, she was on the Board of a local Children's Advocacy a center for several years, her office collects donations for their local women's shelter & recently they are developing a partnership with our local organization that helps children who are victims of sex trafficking. But more than anything else about her, most people know of her life-long involvement with horses, they've been the constant in her life, only taking a break from training & competing during her 4 years of dental school. In fact, Horses are THE reason she went into dentistry. She even has a horse in my business logo. Dr. McQuade and her youngest daughter travel to various parts of the country with their 4 horses to train & compete. And finally, she does her best to be a good steward of the planet, at home & in her business, in fact, she'd love to get her practice B Corp certified.

Montgomery J. Granger is a three-time mobilized U.S. Army Reserve Major (Ret.), who was called into his Reserve Center in Uniondale (Long Island), New York, on 9/11, in response to the attacks on the World Trade Center's Twin Towers, the Pentagon, and Flight 93, which crashed at Shanksville, Pennsylvania. He answered his country's call to duty next in January 2002 for a mission to help run the military detention facility at the U.S. Naval Station at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. He was called up again just six months after returning from duty at Gitmo, but this time remained stateside at the U.S. Army Reserve Training Center at Fort Dix, New Jersey. After nearly six months at Fort Dix, MAJ Granger returned to civilian life for about a year when he was involuntarily transferred to another Reserve Army unit that was deploying to Iraq in the fall of 2004. He is married and is the father of five children, and lives on Long Island, New York. He is also the author of "Theodore," a personal narrative published in the 2006 Random House wartime anthology "Operation Homecoming: Iraq, Afghanistan and the Home Front in the Words of U.S. Troops and Their Families," where he wrote about his fear and anxiety over having left his family in 2002, and especially two-day-old Theodore, and what reaction there was upon his return. Operation Homecoming was sponsored in part by the National Endowment for the Arts, and edited by Andrew Carroll, editor of the New York Times bestselling book, War Letters. Granger was born in Illinois, raised and schooled in Rubidoux, California, and attended undergraduate school at the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Education. He earned a master's degree in curriculum and teaching from Teachers College-Columbia University, where he met his wife. You're probably wondering what this episode is. This is one of my all-time favorite episodes from our friends over at the Alien Theorists Theorizing Podcast! When I'm not researching and creating new episodes of Somewhere in the Skies, I like to unwind with some comedy podcasts. And this is definitely one of those. But I can't quite give up the whole UFO thing either. So this is why I love listening to hosts, Zel, Braden, Andrew, and Dan as they navigate their way through the UFO muck to bring forth some of the most compelling cases, people, and theories in Ufology. Today, I'm dropping one of those episode in the feed so that you can hear these guys in action. I hope you enjoy, and I hope you'll consider subscribing to the Alien Theorists Theorizing podcast today!Episode summary: On September 23, 1980, UFO investigator Leonard Stringfield received a letter that claimed to be from a former military security guard who had witnessed a series of events that sounded like they had come straight out of a science-fiction double feature. Under the pseudonym James Morse, the author of the letter would begin a years long correspondence with Stringfield, that culminated in alleged documentation of military service members coming into direct and violent contact with an extraterrestrial. Morse claimed to have witnessed the final minutes of an unidentifiable creature that had reportedly been shot by security personnel on the grounds of Fort Dix in New Jersey. Morse's claims would fall in line with a book released in 2019 by a military intelligence officer who claimed to have been stationed on that same base and said they had interviewed a number of personnel who were involved in the events of Jan 18, 1978. Meghan's and Harry's supporters are hard core. If you don't believe me, take a look at some of their on-line social media accounts, Twitter in particular, where followers congregate to talk all things Meghan and Harry. Pussy cats they are not. More like lions and lionesses, protecting Meghan and Harry like they would their cubs. So, it comes as no surprise that supporters of Meghan and Harry get right behind the causes that are important to Meghan and Harry, with followers putting their hands into their pockets to donate to various good causes. Here is an example of this in action. On Veterans' Day in the US Meghan and Harry visited at US Military Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst, in New Jersey where Meghan and Harry invited some active servicemen and servicemen to lunch, and where Meghan and Harry also met with Afghan women and children.Fort Dix in New Jersey is currently home to some of the 10,000 Afghan refugees who are being supported by the American Department of Defense, and by volunteers from the veteran's organization Team Rubicon https://teamrubiconusa.org/ until such time as the families can be found permanent homes.During their visit, Meghan and Harry stopped by a classroom full of young children learning English, whereupon Meghan and Harry interacted with the kids including joining in an impromptu rendition of the children's song "Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes" which is apparently one of Archie's favourites.Two-days after their visit, a tweet appeared on the Royal Suitor / R.S. Locke https://mobile.twitter.com/royal_suitor account advising that there was a need for winter coats, footwear, clothing, craft supplies, and other items for the Afghan guests. Within minutes of the tweet, Meghan and Harry supporters were re-tweeting screen shots of photos showing receipts for the purchases that they had made in Meghan and Harry's honour. Once the purchases arrive at the various military bases, Team Rubicon volunteers, the so-called 'greyshirts' will help to unpack and sort the purchases and help get them to the families that need them.Team Rubicon serves communities by mobilizing veterans to continue their service, using the skills and the experience that they acquired in the military, to help people prepare, respond, and recover from disasters and humanitarian crises. As well as helping to sort and distribute donations made for the Afghan families, Team Rubicon volunteers are building temporary housing units and are assembling furniture, serving as translators which helps families to move through the resettlement process with dignity and more quickly, and providing logistical and administrative support.I reached out to Ms. Locke who has been unofficially coordinating / monitoring the donations made by Meghan and Harry's supporters to Fort-Dix to see if she had any idea as to the total value of purchases made in Meghan and Harry's name. As at the time of recording she was not able to tell me how much had been donated but in my estimate, looking at the Tweets, purchases ran to thousands and thousands of $$. Meghan and Harry supporters should be proud of themselves for stepping up, and going on this mega shopping spree to help others. And thanks to Meghan and Harry for throwing some light on this need. Please keep listening for future podcasts on all things Meghan, Harry, Archie and Lili. Did you know that Rhode Island native, Robert Rene Gaudreau is a former professional ice hockey player? He played in the NHL from 1992 to 1996 with the San Jose Sharks and Ottawa Senators. Internationally Gaudreau played for the American national team at the senior and junior level, including the 1993 World Championships. Now, we turn our feature story…. Gov. Ned Lamont has submitted a request for a major disaster declaration to the Biden administration, seeking federal funds to help Connecticut recover from damage caused by the remnants of Hurricane Ida. The Sept. 1st storm dumped as much as 8 inches of rain on parts of the state, resulting in heavy flooding and an estimated $7.2 million in damage to homes, businesses and infrastructure. It also resulted in the death of State Police Sgt. Brian Mohl, whose vehicle was swept away in floodwaters. Lamont said: “The effects from the remnants of Hurricane Ida were of such severity that effective recovery is beyond the capabilities of state and local governments, and as a result, supplemental federal assistance is necessary.” Lamont's request would allow homeowners in Fairfield and New London counties, as well residents of the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation and the Mohegan Tribal Nation, to receive federal reimbursements for the costs of uninsured damage to their housing and personal property. According to Lamont's request, just 8% of damaged homes in New London County and 23% in Fairfield County had flood insurance. The proposed declaration also would allow municipalities in Fairfield and Middlesex counties to receive up to 75% federal reimbursement of the costs of uninsured damage to roads and other infrastructure, as well as costs for emergency response. The governor's office said public assistance damage assessments in Litchfield, New Haven and New London counties have not been completed and his request could be updated. Helen, a birth-rite Quaker, was born in Lansdowne, PA. After a combined eight years of living in Boston and New Jersey, the family came back to the Philadelphia area settling in Rosemont. The family constant were summers spent in Weekapaug, Rhode Island. Throughout her childhood, competitive ice skating and sailing the sneakbox on Weekapaug pond were two joys. Helen attended Shipley School and graduated in 1943. In 1945 Penny and Clif were married and made their home in St. David's, raising their four children. Their family summers were split between Weekapaug and Squam Lake, NH. After the children were grown, Penny and Clif moved to Haverford with their later years living at Beaumont at Bryn Mawr, all-the-while wintering at "The Nest" in Vero Beach, Florida. Helen's abundant love, great sense of humor and energy were focused on family and friends, but also included running for public office and her volunteer work. Growing up a Pennock meant flowers were always in her life. She won first prize at the Philadelphia Flower Show for "Individual Floral Arranging". She also was a faithful member of Bryn Mawr Presbyterian Church where she served as a Deacon for many years. During WWII she trained as a nurse's aid and continued her service during the Vietnam War. Helen volunteered as a "Grey Lady" at the Valley Forge Hospital in Coatesville, PA. Twice a week she escorted the amputees from Fort Dix, NJ to Valley Forge Hospital on an old school bus. After listening to the men in extreme discomfort during transportation Helen used her power of persuasion in Washington D.C. and Detroit to have money appropriated to build a prototype deluxe bus equipped with special shock absorbers for the amputees. That bus was nicknamed "The Collings Special". Helen was later honored at Walter Reed Hospital, outside Washington, D.C., for her insight, tenacity and accomplishment. Penny made long lasting friends wherever she went. She and Clif loved life together! Traveling the world extensively, playing golf and bridge, her fun sense of humor always on display. She is survived by her sister, her four children, her six grandchildren, and seven great grandchildren. Thank you for taking a moment with us today to remember and celebrate Penny's life. That's it for today, we'll be back next time with more! Also, remember to check out our sponsor Perennial, Daily Gut & Brain, available at the CVS on Main St. in Wakefield! Welcome to the Oddcast. This week i give you the long awaited On Satan's Set Pt. 2 which is the second in a series on the infamous founder of The Temple of Set, and highly decorated military man Michael Aquino. Here i go over a few details from the first episode, and add in more facts while playing audio clips of Aquino, and his wife Lillith, and other speaking about. I also briefly look into the Egyptian god Set/Seth, and the origins of his name. I hope this helps us to get a step closer to the truth, and add a few more pieces to the mystery puzzle surrounding this historical figure. Join me won't you as we take another trip down the rabbit hole, far beyond the mainstream! Thank You Cheers, and Blessings Ipsissimus Michael Aquino - Founder Temple of Set, Grand Master Emeritus of the Order of the Trapezoid, Temple of Set. In 1975 Michael Aquino was given an Infernal mandate by the Prince of Darkness which resulted in the founding of the Temple of Set and the re-consecration of the Setian Priesthood. Magus of the word "Xeper". -Lefthand Path Sorcery Website Michael Aquino was a very highly decorated military man with numerous awards in fact so many that it took up two pages of his book MindWar. In 1968 while serving or the 306th Psychological Operations Battalion at Fort MacArthur in California, during the Vietnam War, He Joined Satanic Church after meeting Lavey at theatre showing of Rosemary's Baby• He became a Satanic priest, & worked closely with the Lavey's for over 10 years. He started having disagreements with the way Lavey was portraying Satan and how he was running the church. Michael did not approve of the hokey B-movie imagery and wanted the church to be more serious. Lavey had became a recluse and would only speak in front of the Adepts of the congregation. He changed the way members worked there way up the degrees, & it became a for profit system where the Lavey's would take money, property, and gifts in exchange for adepthood. Michael decided to consult Satan on the issue. On June 21st 1975 as the clock struck midnight at his home in Santa Barbara he did a magical working, & spent 4 hours writing his book that would become the manual for the Temple of Set called, "Coming Forth By Night." He believed that Satan had passed the torch of early representative from Lavey to himself. (Æon of Set) Set- Upon the ninth Solstice, therefore, I destroyed my pact with Anton Szandor LaVey, and I raised him to the Will of a Daimon, unbounded by the material dimensions. And so I thought to honor him beyond other men. But it may have been this act of mine that ordained his fall. Set- The Satanist thought to approach Satan through ritual. Now let the Setian shun all recitation, for the text of another is an affront to the Self. Speak rather to me as to a friend, gently and without fear, and I shall hear as a friend. In The New Satanists book by Linda Blood, who was a mistress of Aquino she says they wrote letters to one another, & eventually she was able to meet him at a Temple of Set convention. A few weeks later they began having an affair. She joined the Temple, & began learning the rites, & ceremonies. She discovered that a Aquino had a fascination with Nazi memorabilia, the Thule, and Vril society and especially Himmler's occult operations. The Setian concept of good and evil is based on the idea that whatever is good for one individual may well be considered evil by someone else, and who is to say who is right and who is wrong? Aquino cautions his followers that "profane" society will tolerate them only if they are "perceived" to be ethical people. "Aquino called the average society of profane masses, "World of Horrors," Please check out my friend John Brisson's fantastic panel discussion about Michael Aquino with William Ramsey, & others on YT We've Read The Documents channel. https://youtu.be/Gmfl02kLz3w Aquino TV Interview https://youtu.be/WmICVW0-iBM Buzz saw Aquino Interview https://youtu.be/7AiH8occZSI MK Ultra, & Hypnotism https://vimeo.com/179305594 On behalf of the military and the World Affairs Council, he took a tour of European NATO offices, And also traveled to Germany to the Schloss Wewelsburg's Westphalian castle (a triangular fortress) where Himmler had had the SS ritual chambers, and trained The Nazi Black Order in occult teachings. Through initiation rituals he was trying to create a Nietzschean superman. Ubermensch He went to see the the Marble Hall and the Hall of the Dead, & as the sun shown through the windows on him, he said he had a spiritual experience. He also thought he'd found the fountain of youth. He asked the curator to allow him to lock himself in, & he did a ritual. Aquino experienced what he believed was a vision of the ultimate meaning and purpose of the Temple of Set. So, when he got back he told his adept cult members that he'd received a vision of a new symbol for his reinvigorated Order of the Trapezoid. He told them they weren't going to focus on Aryan Supremacy, but instead, put their efforts into fighting their main enemy which was Christianity. Blood says: The temple membership turned out to consist of an odd combination of the respectable and the marginal of society. There were teachers, law enforcement and military officers, nurses, bank tellers, and secretaries, alongside former prostitutes of both sexes and the odd ex-biker or two. There were two former Jesuits. One member turned out to be the principal of a Catholic school! She and her husband, a priest of the cult, had adopted several children. By the way, Dr. Steven Flowers was one of his closest allies, in The Temple Of Set. He is, or was a Magus V° of the Temple of Set, Grand Master of its Order of the Trapezoid, Yrmin-Drighten RX of the Rune-Gild, Author of The Left Hand Path, Fraturnis Saturni. Joyce Tobin, the wife of a U.S. Army captain posted at the Presidio, stopped to pick up her three-year-old son at the base's preschool. Small child was mimicking masturbating, & told her Mr. Gary do it. He was examined, & it was determined he'd been violated. The CARSAC workers suggested that there might be multiple victims, but the army seemed not to want to believe this. Other children soon began to speak out, the first among what would eventually include more than sixty. Their allegations were particularly startling because many hinted at satanic activity. Some children described being taken out of the day care center to private homes on the Presidio base, and to one home off-post, where they were sexually abused. Physicians discovered that several children had chlamydia and other STDs. Gary Hambright was charged, but three months after Hambright's arrest, the charges were dropped when U.S. District Court Judge William Schwarzer refused to allow the admission of "hearsay" statements made by the child to his mother, brother, and medical examiners. Eventually, the parents would learn of other cases at other army bases, including West Point, Fort Dix, Fort Leavenworth, and Fort Jackson in South Carolina—a total of fifteen day care centers in all—as well as at two U.S. Air Force day care centers and at a facility run by the navy in Philadelphia. Child Adolescent Sexual Abuse Referral Center (CARSAC) In one case, a three-year-old girl had' claimed that she'd been taken to the home of U.S. Army Reserve Lieutenant Colonel Michael Aquino and his wife, Lilith, and subjected to bizarre satanic ritual abuse. The attorney Cynthia Angell had a date to meet a potential witness and prep her for testimony and when she pulled into the parking lot two men jumped in her car held her at gunpoint, drove her to a place where they blindfolded her, & showed a her pics a tortured, dead bodies, & played a tape of sounds of children and adults screaming in pain. They told her to drop the case or else, & dropped her back off in a parking lot. Other attorneys were also harassed, & threatened. Rudolph Giuliani, then United States Attorney for the Southern District of New York, noted that "there were indications that some children may have been abused at the West Point Child Development Center," and recommended that the Point provide them with therapy. Did you know that Rhode Island native, Earle Audet was an American football offensive tackle in the National Football League for the Washington Redskins, as well as the Los Angeles Dons of the All-America Football Conference. He played college football at the University of Southern California, and was drafted in the third round of the 1944 NFL Draft. Now, for our feature story: Miss North America 2021 may not be showing off her shoes this Labor Day when the official Miss America Organization holds its iconic "Show Us Your Shoes Parade" in Mystic for the first time ever, but she is stepping up to shine a light on the ever-changing image of beauty pageants in the country. Kaitlyn Benson, 21, of Hope Valley, the reigning Miss North America 2021 said: "There are many different pageants out there. I am not affiliated with the Miss America organization but I did fall in love with pageantry after my first orientation." Benson, who also served as Miss Ocean State 2019, said she initially had a different opinion about beauty pageants and imagined them to be all "glitz and glamor" like the reality television series, "Toddlers and Tiaras." But as she learned more about the opportunities and philosophies of various contests and learned the history of pageantry, she changed her mind. According to PBS, the winner of the first "Inter-City Beauty Contest" in 1921 was crowned "Miss America" and won a first place prize of $100. Later, "The national executive director, Lenora Slaughter, shaped the modern pageant by adding features such as state competitions, the scholarship program, and a judging category based on personal interviews." In the 1990s the pageant was reformed into the Miss America Organization, a not-for-profit corporation comprising three distinct divisions: the traditional Miss America Pageant, the scholarship fund, and a Miss America foundation. Meanwhile, 51 women will be following their pageantry dreams to Mystic this Labor Day when they participate in the "Show Us Your Shoes" Parade — part of the official Miss America 100th Anniversary Celebration — and vie for the title of "Miss America" from the group that started pageantry in the United States. The parade will kickoff on Clara Drive in Mystic at 10 a.m. on Sept. 6 and will feature Miss America hopefuls from every state in the country and Washington, D.C., along with a number of "Forever Miss Americas" who will show off "elaborate parade costumes and decorated shoes to showcase their home states". After Monday's parade, Miss America competitors will visit Ocean Beach Park in New London, the Submarine Force Library and Museum in Groton, Buttonwood Farm in Griswold and the Slater Museum at Norwich Free Academy. The event is part of three-year partnership between Mohegan Sun — which hosted the 2020 Miss America Competition — and the Miss America Organization, which is celebrating its 100th anniversary. The next Miss America will be chosen in December at Mohegan Sun. With his compulsively entertaining new book, Drafted: A Memoir of the '60s (Tolmitch Press), author, screenwriter, and director Heywood Gould takes his reader on a rollicking tour of New York City in America's most turbulent decade as he explores his draft-dodging days in the buildup of the Vietnam war. We get into how Drafted evolved from a screenplay into a novel into a memoir, what it was like being a reporter for the New York Post at 22 (when it was a pinko rag, rather than a right-wing rag) and working alongside Nora Ephron and Pete Hamill, his family's tension between communist leanings & patriotism, and how his race to get out of the draft led him to Paris, civil rights protests, almost to the wedding altar, and Fort Dix. We also talk about Heywood's career writing and directing movies and TV (like Cocktail, Fort Apache, The Bronx, One Good Cop, The Boys From Brazil and The Equalizer), his one Gabriel Byrne story, why he'll take NYC over LA, and all the ways Hollywood has changed over the decades, especially in the streaming era. Plus we discuss why he reads the Torah daily (for the storytelling!), his stab at adapting Isaac Babel for the movies, how the Great American Novel has eluded him so far, how he learned Hemingway's trick of writing fiction like a news story, why being a mortician's assistant was his favorite non-writing job, and why his next book will be How Not To Be A Cancer Patient, a memoir of his 20 years (and counting) of experience with non-Hodgkin's lymphoma. • More info at our site • Support The Virtual Memories Show via Patreon or Paypal
The Odd One SPEAKS! This week i dive into the sordid history of Col. Michael Aquino, and the Temple of Set. His name goes round in conspiracy circles quite a bit, but let's see if we can go a little further as we dive deep down the rabbit hole, far beyond the mainstream! Cheers, and Blessings Ipsissimus Michael Aquino - Founder Temple of Set, Grand Master Emeritus of the Order of the Trapezoid, Temple of Set. "Aquino called the average society of profane masses, "World of Horrors," "Mindwar is magic. Every MindWarrior must therefore be a magician. Discussion of Aquino's Book, Mindwar Thought Architecture P. 88 Brainwave Resonance P. 98 Atmospheric Ionization P. 108 Psyop Colors P. 110 Psyop Shapes P. 112 Psycon Hypnotism P. 115 False Flag Operation P. 177 On behalf of the military and the World Affairs Council, he took a tour of European NATO offices, And also traveled to Germany to the Schloss Wewelsburg's Westphalian castle (a triangular fortress) where Himmler had had the SS ritual chambers, and trained The Nazi Black Order in occult teachings. Confessions of Aldeen Franco! In this episode our protagonist shares with us his experiences in Fort Dix and that one time in LOOKERS.
Master Ali Abdul Karim studied Shinobi-no-jitsu (Ninjitsu) from world famous and noted Grand Master Ronald Duncan since 1969. As fate would have it, Master Karim's older brother Richard started him off in the martial arts in 1967 and later Master Karim went on to study Shotokan Karate from some of his local friends. Richard Lewis (brother of Master Karim) wanted him to take some formal classes. Master Karim used to watch Grand Master Duncan's classes from the window at the Dojo at 519 Court St. near his home. Richard was going to take his younger brother to study with Grandmaster Ron Van Cliff and to their surprise the dojo was closed. Master Karim's dream came true. Richard took Master Karim down the dojo on Court St. where he would begin his long journey on the warrior's path. Master Karim spent a lifetime pursuing perfection in field of self defense and personal security. Through his study of Asian Martial Arts and Western Combat training, he later founded the Star and Crescent School of Essential Knowledge, along with his student, Brother Daud Jalaladin in 1974. Master Karim is the director and the head The Star and Crescent Martial Arts Federation of with schools along the East Coast. Star and Crescent is associated with and is a part of the Way of the Winds Federation that is supervised by Grand Master Ronald Duncan. Ninjitsu is the ancient Japanese martial art involving security, surveillance, and commando warfare. Some of the arts that Master Karim has studied is Aikijutsu, Kempo Jutsu, Hakko Ryu Jujutsu, Kenjutsu, Aikido under Prof. Luqman Hakeem, aspects of Shiao Lin Chin Na, Fu Jiao Pau, Pa Qua Kung Fu, Eagle Claw, White Eyebrow Kung Fu, Tai chi quan, Shiao Lin Chi Gung, Wing Chung Kung Fu, and the Monkey Style to name only a few. It only seemed natural for Master Karim to pursue the modern Western approach to balance his training. Master Karim is an expert in SWAT team operations, pistol disarmament, and special reaction security. In 1982, the Military Police Corps unit of the U.S. Army at Fort Dix, NJ awarded him a certificate of appreciation in recognition of his outstanding performance as a primary instructor for the National Association of Tactical Teams (NATT), a special reaction team for combat. Master Kareem earned a certificate of achievement for the completion of the Advanced Urban Assault Rappel course, and Advanced Elevated Urban Operations course. An interview with Hugh King (also known as "Chopper King.") What I've selected from our conversation for this podcast has to do with three distinct parts of Hugh's life that I find especially interesting: 1) His childhood pyromania; 2) The part Hugh played in the anti-war “GI Coffeehouse Movement” during the Vietnam War in the late 1960's and 70's near Fort Dix, New Jersey; and 3) The emergence of Hugh's "Chopper King" character from the TV shows Biker Build-off and Motorcycle Mania. This episode is 35 minutes long. Here's https://youtu.be/5D1x9I_3DNE (Hugh in 2019 at the controls of a deactivated Titan II missile) in its silo outside Tucson Arizona. 261. That's how many days Governor Christie spent out of New Jersey in 2015. And according to New Jersey Public Radio's Matt Katz, “There's not much really happening in terms of the governance of New Jersey.” As state matters are squeezed between the governor's campaign stops and TV appearances, Matt says Trenton has “basically ground to a halt.” But next week, Christie will take a break from campaigning to appear in Trenton for his annual state of the state speech. As the governor reacquaints himself with the Garden State, Matt joins host David Furst to talk about the criticism the absentee governor is facing on the trail – and takes a look at what his presidential campaign is costing New Jersey taxpayers. Also: Governor Christie often talks about his time “prosecuting terrorists” as U.S. Attorney for New Jersey. One of his most celebrated convictions is back in the news this week, with three of the men who were convicted of plotting a terrorist attack on Fort Dix back in a New Jersey courtroom. We examine a case that Christie talks about as one of the highlights of his career with Murtaza Hussain. He has written extensively about the “Fort Dix Five” for The Intercept, and says the case deserves more scrutiny. Bonus: For further listening on Christie's track record of prosecuting terrorists in the years following 9/11 - here's our discussion on the conviction of Hemant Lakhani.
