On Wednesday's Mark Levin Show, George and Alex Soros are relentlessly working to undermine this nation. In addition, Alaska's energy resources are vital, but under the Biden and Obama administrations, the state faced restrictive federal policies. In contrast, Trump has liberated Alaska's energy sector. Later, Democrats, having lost touch with the cultural zeitgeist, are attempting to fracture the MAGA coalition built by Trump. Democrats in the Texas House, numbering 62 out of 150 members, left the state to block a quorum, which requires two-thirds of the House and Senate to act, preventing a vote on redistricting. Abbott expressed confidence in passing the redistricting legislation by calling consecutive special sessions if needed. Finally, Gov Ron DeSantis calls in to announce his new Lieutenant Gov Jay Collins. They discuss Florida's appeal and the need for redistricting to ensure fair representation, especially in rapidly growing areas like Tampa Bay and Sarasota. August 10, 2025; 7am: President Donald Trump has dispatched roughly 450 federal law enforcement officers from various agencies across Washington DC near high traffic areas. The move comes a week after a former DOGE staffer was attacked in an attempted carjacking. Despite the president's habit of trashing the city where he currently lives, violent crime is actually down 26% from last year when it was at a 30 year low. He's recently announced on social media that he will hold an event at the White House that will "essentially stop violent crime" in DC, which he claims has become one of the most dangerous cities in the world. In this episode of Talk Law Radio, host Todd Marquardt delves into the recent changes brought about by Senate Bill 29, which became effective on May 14, 2025. This bill includes the codification of the business judgment rule into the Texas Business Organizations Code, a significant development for business owners and directors. The business judgment rule, which has been relied upon since 1878, protects directors from liability for honest, discretionary decisions made in the corporation's interest, even if those decisions are negligent or imprudent, as long as there is no fraud, bad faith, or gross negligence involved. Previously, this rule was only applied defensively after a business was sued, but now it is explicitly written into the Texas law. The new codification presumes that directors and officers act in good faith, on an informed basis, in furtherance of the corporation's interests, and in obedience to the law and the corporation's governing documents. This presumption can only be rebutted if it is proven that the director's or officer's actions involved fraud, intentional misconduct, an ultra vires act, or a knowing violation of the law.Senate Bill 29 aims to provide statutory clarity and certainty for business decision-makers, encouraging more companies to operate in Texas and boosting economic development and job creation. Governor Abbott and Senator Bryan Hughes have both expressed their support for the bill, highlighting its potential to attract businesses and provide a stable legal environment for corporate governance. John has a mixed bag of news today. First, he discusses the latest with Trump's tariffs which seem to be growing every minute. Then, he talks about the escalation in the Texas gerrymandering stand off - agents from the FBI have been directed to assist Texas Gov.
