The band is back together, the calendar has turned to September, and we are taking you back to school this week. In keeping with the back-to-school theme, Brennan will start by defining “The Rule of 40”, which has nothing to do with the idea that it all goes to crap after you hit 40, or his favourite movie, The 40 Year Old Virgin. The Rule of 40 is a commonly used metric when comparing SaaS companies and is a simple framework that balances revenue growth versus profit margins. Brett takes reviews one of our more popular Stock vs. Stock Battle of the past couple years which pitted two hot (at the time) renewable energy companies Greenlane Renewables Inc. (GRN:TSX) and Xebec Adsorption Inc. (XBC:TSX) against one another. Greenlane won the battle at the time, but neither met our criteria. Brett will look at where both stocks are today. Ryan will hit the mailbag and take a quick look at one of the hotter TSX Venture stocks this year, Patriot Battery Metals Inc. (PMET:TSX-V), which has seen its share price jump from the $0.55 range to just under $7.00. What is driving the gains and is it sustainable? Finally, in our Your Stock, Our Take segment Aaron reviews NVIDIA Corporation (NVDA: NASDAQ), the worlds top designer and manufacturer of GPUs or graphic processing units. The tech giant has seen its share price slashed 60% from 2021 highs and its recently released ugly Q2 numbers helped pour gasoline on the recent tire fire. Aaron let's you know his thoughts on the current valuations.

I got a haircut yesterday. It was growing a mullet was not. And we are back to looking like a regular human being, but we're here to talk about cannabis, not my hair. This is Elliot lane. Host of Benzinga cannabis daily podcast. Thanks so much for tuning in really appreciate it. Let's dive in to what's happening in the cannabis markets today. Colonel NASDAQ listed K E R N announces a strategic review to increase stakeholder value. They engage J M P securities.Their CFO, John foul is leaving. I love John. He's a great guy. They'll have an interim CFO now who is being promoted internally. Their president and COO is also transitioning to be a special advisor to the CEO. So obviously. Jessica and team over there, not necessarily happy with the current state of things that occur in a looking to increase the value for the company and for those who have invested in the company. So we'll see where this leads. I don't think this is just the beginning and I would imagine. Jessica is a wonderful CEO and understands when she needs to make moves. I am interested. We'll keep an eye on them. The department of justice pro-marijuana moment is urging the Supreme court to reject cases on medical cannabis. And workers' compensation saying that marijuana policy is evolving in that Congress and the executive branch are best suited. To handle the federal state conflict on the issue. That would be nice if they ever took any action. The food and drug administration issued a safety alert about marijuana infused copycat food products that resemble popular brands.Think the Cheetos that we discussed yesterday at the elementary school out west since six elementary kids to the hospital, this is not the first time I believe there was something in New York a couple months ago. So this is an issue. These are illicit to market products. These are not illegal products, obviously. And hopefully we can get these rounded up very quickly. Senator James Lankford, Republican from Oklahoma mocked, his home state's voter approved medical marijuana law. When she unsuccessfully campaigned against in a Senate floor speech about his opposition to abortion rights. Also premier won a moment play at 13 P L N H F on the OTC reports.Their first. Their revenue of 25.7 million is up 8% year over year. Interestingly enough, they are actively pursuing a us listing right now. It is federally illegal for them to be listed on the NASDAQ or nicey, but they are preparing for the moment that safe banking passes or any type of legislation passes, letting them join the ranks of the NASDAQ and nicey listed. They also closed their next GreenWave acquisition, which was a very very great company out west in California, a legacy grower. So they acquired some great products some great quality. They also acquired what was a very positively. Positive financially driven company. We'll say the cannabis control board in Vermont issued its first license on Monday for retail, marijuana cultivation. There is still growing frustration in the states as others are looking at. Plant their roots in the industry itself, Greenlane reports, G N L N on the NASDAQ revenue, 46 and a half million in the first quarter, which is up 37% year. Over year, they have a much larger tax liabilities this quarter. I think somewhere over 10 million brand sells and cash on hand are both down. And, but they do save $8 million with a reduction in force. So overall, I would say, let's wait until the next learning. Pass judgment on green lane there, but some of their statement does make me take pause, even though I do love the year over year growth. I P R innovative industrial properties acquires a Massachusetts property and enters into a long-term agreement with tilt holdings, T L T F on the OTC halo cannabis, H C a N F on the OTC revenues. In first quarter of 7.6 million are down 23% year over year. They did have their first incubated company, a Conda Corp go public. They IP owed last quarter. They also, I would say the big decrease year over year is from product pricing on the west coast. And obviously seasonality plays a huge effect in this industry. As we've seen across the board in these quarterly reports, American. I can on the OTC is a cannabis rental facility company, and they released their first quarter results of over 600 K in revenue, which is up 52% year over year. If I'm looking at winners on the day, I'm probably. My winters are probably IPR and tilt holdings.I think those are both great companies to partner with and they partnered with each other. So I'm all about that. Playing at 13, I think we'll keep a winner for now. I would say we want to see their California and Florida adventures go a little bit better than they have so far. I'm keeping an eye on green lane and a halo for next quarter and a Corona, as we mentioned, we'll keep an eye on.So that's literally all the stocks I listed, but my winners, IPR tilt. Looking forward to doing this a couple more times. Benzinga will be reporting tomorrow morning and Friday morning, even though we will be at MGM packed. So if you are at to the event in New York city, give us a holler outside of that, have a great day.Support this podcast at — https://redcircle.com/cannabis-daily/donationsAdvertising Inquiries: https://redcircle.com/brandsPrivacy & Opt-Out: https://redcircle.com/privacy

I hope you are having a terrific start to your day. Welcome to cannabis daily. This is Elliot lane, your host, as always thanks to my guy, Aaron Thomas, for producing the show and Benzinger for the platform. We are here to bring you your daily dose pun intended of cannabis, news, and insights to help you understand the industry, just a tad more when you put some money into it.So let's start right off with. Big activity that was announced this morning, tier one multi-state operator Verano holdings. They are listed on the OTC. V R N O F is acquiring a, another MSO multi-state operator. Goodness growth holdings, GD NSF for 413 million. In stock. This is huge for Verano. I don't think you can understate enough when you can understand when an MSO buys another MSO, but let's dive into what this means for Verano. And they're adding New York to their portfolio to what is already an incredibly strong east coast gathering of states, which includes New Jersey, Connecticut, Pennsylvania, Massachusetts, and marriages. So they are pushing further into New York. There are only one of 10 vertically integrated licenses in that state. It includes delivery which I believe they can also deliver to the met stadium, the U S open stadium and several other widely big or big tourist areas. They're also obtaining one of two licenses in ministry. This includes a cultivation license and eight active dispensary's going back to New York, that includes one cultivation facility, four active dispensary's and four plan dispensary's they're also obtaining assets in New Mexico. This is huge. For Verano in terms of expansion  I think completely worth what they put into it per from the press release upon consummation of the acquisition. Veranos footprint will span 18 states with active operations in 15, including 17 cultivation facilities totalling 1.3 million square feet of cultivation capacity, and 111 active dispensary's.Congratulations. Congratulations to Aaron, congratulations to the entire Verano team, especially the ones who worked on this. I think this is a fantastic merger between two very solid cannabis companies in the United States. So let's not make this a podcast just about going on this.  They're obviously the winner of the day.No offense to anybody else who has good news Hawthorne gardening. This is the subsidiary that focuses on cannabis hydroponics for Scott's miracle, grow wisdom on the nicety, nicey as S M G. I promise you guys, I can talk their Q1 sales. Fall by 38% to 191 million. This is due to a couple of things.First off they're lowering pricing of led lights to be more competitive, but also this is driven primarily by an oversupply of cannabis grown in state authorized markets that has led to a temporary decline in commercial cultivation activity. So their services have become. Less necessary as there has been more product in inventory. So companies are not expanding as much. I would imagine so Hawthorne, I don't think this will be the trend for a company like them. SMG, obviously very profound in operations. And I expect Hawthorne to bounce back. This was all. Pre-announced I believe somewhere around like January 4th. So not really a surprise either, so I don't expect their stock to fall a huge amount today. Greenlane NASDAQ listed G N L N they're 2021 fourth quarter. Preliminary revenue will be between 55 and a half million and 56 and a half. This is up 54% year over year. Obviously mainly driven by an increase in sales of Greenlane brands and the Kush co merger. So Greenland, continuing to benefit from that massive combined merger between Costco and Greenlane. Canopy growth. Everybody's favorite and or least favorite canvas stock. I still love them. I do down in the bottom of my heart, NASDAQ listed CGC, their bio steals subsidiary presents its sports drink to nearly 15,000 new stores across the U S you cannot argue their footprint. You can not argue their reach. They're incredibly strong when cannabis bounces back, CGC will be right there. I no recommendations here, but I am an investor. And I do expect Ghanim canopy to be a player in this industry. Decibel cannabis DBCF has been very loud recently and very aggressive in terms of their news flow. They closed a 54 million debt refinancing with connect first, increasing its access to debt by 20. Million dollars, Canadian, innovative industrial properties. I IP R launches a 300 million senior note offering, which will be due 2027. This will be used to invest in specialized real estate assets in regulated cannabis markets, nothing new there in terms of what it's used for, but another 300 million. Of capital for them to play with Chuck Schumer, our favorite Senate majority leader maybe tweets about meeting on social equity happening for the marijuana industry today. He tweeted this yesterday. I believe, or he tweeted this morning for tomorrow, regardless of what happened this week. But he has always put social equity first. That could be a huge benefit and boon for you. When looking at this industry, it could be a negative for you when looking at this. But that being said he is continuing to work in, in that order. So I don't expect him to jump on safe banking, just due to this simple tweet that being said, this is Elliot lane. Thanks so much for tuning in you all. I hope this helps obviously VR in O F. It is a wonderful look today. GD NSF is who they are acquiring both on the OTC, SMG, keeping them on your watch list. But obviously a not great day. But another good day for Greenlane in canopy growth. Until tomorrow. Y'all we'll do this again on Wednesday. Thanks again, everybody for tuning in rate and review S V Z cannabis.com. Y'all it's Elliot lane with cannabis daily. As you know, welcome back to your Thursday of making money on cannabis stocks. Thanks to Aaron Thomas for producing this bad boy, and thanks to Benzinga for the platform as always rate and review us, let us know what you think, what you want to hear about. We will always take that into consideration as this podcast grows. Y'all all right. Let's dive. Right in first foods group will sell Southeast edibles. They are a CBD focus manufacturer through costco.com. A large partnership, not really investible news, save potentially some of the Costco side, but some, some nice news there for a new partnership on the. Side of life per Alan Broxton of new cannabis ventures. Canadian stocks dropped five and a half percent in November.Tier ones are village farms, canopy growth Tilray and Aurora, I keep telling you guys watch out for village farms. They were a tier two, not that long ago. And now an obvious tier one status. Love that stock love that team. A CGC. Unfortunately the worst performer, I'm not gonna lie. I think they get the brunt of all negative cannabis news. Even though they did have quite a few significant executive changes last month till Ray was the best performer at up one and a half percent. And Aurora's just hanging out there. Y'all just hanging out there in the middle tier twos, entourage and ALIF. Worst performers, both down 40 or more percent.Good Lord. I'm a fan of Alafia. I think they're a refocus this year as put them at a easy to drop or a negative turn. I will say though, it worries me a bit to see this drop as their shareholders have remained loyal for a long time. So they haven't really. I'm sorry. They'd rather have been able to withstand big moves in the market like this. So I hope belief is able to rebound as with entourage entourage. I feel like they probably need to start releasing some aggressive news in order to get shareholders back on their side soon Oxley among the best performers with nearly 5% growth. So obviously having a better year than most, I'm not gonna lie inner cure.I NCR and cookies. We all know and love announced expansion European expansion via partnership to open retail locations in the UK and Austria in early 2022. This is an exclusive partnership between the two. So cookies cannot open any other UK or Austria dispensary. With anybody, but insecure and insecure outside of the Canadian and us north American stocks really all the way around is probably the fastest growing cannabis company internationally. So keep an eye on them, Inc. On the NASDAQ cookies. Of course not investible, unfortunately V R N O F that's Verano ads. They're 91st dispensary and they're 11th in Pennsylvania. And they're second with the drive-through for all your drivers. Mounting pressure on Chuck Schumer to include the safe act in the NDA, the national defense act. Right now I think it's about 70, 30%. That is not 70, 30 chance that it's not included. Unfortunately. He seems to. Not really be listening to the cannabis. I would say legislative leaders the activists, if you will, that we all know and love like Todd Harrison and Brady cob, like the other politicians might be.So I'm not as hopeful that safe is going to be included this go around, but there is quite a bit of pressure on him to include it. So I hope I'm wrong. And I hope we get that past. Some other stock news to chat on real quick. Before we leave all from Alan Broxton, make sure you check out new cannabis ventures three strongest and ciliary stocks, a little bit of a surprise to me.Power REITs. That's nice. See, listed PW, hydro farm NASDAQ, H Y F M and turning point brands and IC listed TPB. The lowest performer Weedmaps that's in a P S on the NASDAQ. A little bit surprised there Greenlane and Grogan haven't been having a great year, so there, they followed them up pretty closely, but mats let's hope we see a turnaround there as I think they have an important part of the space, them and Leafly. So the Leafly is closing of their, of their deal with. We'll be very telling as to what the industry thinks of this side. Awesome. This is Elliot lane with cannabis daily. We have touched on some performances over the month of November. Some tier one cant Canadian stocks, village farms. Tilray canopy Aurora, a tier twos as well. And I think I NCR is probably the winner of the day. If you ask me you all so far, that is it's very early. Thanks as always let us know what you think and we'll do this again. This is Elliot lane bringing in New York cannabis news and insights on the market. Uh, every week, day around 10:00 AM, you know, maybe 10 0 5, maybe 9 55. We haven't gotten into an exact science yet, but we are there for you every day. Uh, today's Friday. We're going to get Aaron Thomas on a little bit later, chat through some fun little items, but my gosh, the amount of news I have for you today, earnings is in full swing. Um, some funny things happening, some awesome things happening, and some companies that'll have some things to prove next quarter. So let's do that.Right in inner care, I NCR, uh, known as can dock around Israel. Um, really great, uh, management team behind them, great investors behind them. They moved on the announcement that they were having earnings. I just found this hilarious, uh, Inc. Uh, I think there are a lot of firm believers in this company, including myself.I think insecure is going to be a powerhouse internationally. Uh, but I, I don't see why they made the jump to be quite honest. So, um, keep an eye on them and I look forward to their earnings, maybe something coming out. Yeah. I had a couple articles that came out recently. I want to, I want to bring attention to investor place, publishes articles saying sundial that's S and D L could be a goodbye for reversal. We'll touch more on them later. Obviously mainly citing the years happenings plus the market opportunities. So nothing really. Super insightful in the article in terms of specifics or details that most cannabis enthusiasts don't already know. Um, but overall, I, I share a similar sentiment. Stock place says drops on dial and by village farms, uh, Corona, organic gram, and Greenlane while I agree with half of that sentiment.Um, I think diversification is great. I think sundial has its own benefits. Again, we'll touch on them. Shortly village farms is an incredible company. A Corona is one of the leading software compliance providers in the industry. If not the leading one organic gram for me is interesting because of the tobacco entrance there, uh, in Greenland, obviously being one of the major anciliary companies and, um, and accessory brands, uh, out there.Hexo, this is a little bit of old news, but I did want to touch on it. That's hex. So on the NASDAQ closes three recently acquired facilities laying off 155 workers, and they claim this as a part of an integration plan. You know, it may be, and I think remains to be seen, but I, I, I want to be fully behind tech.So. Um, and it's just not positive news coming out of there right now. And I hope they can continue to release some positive reasons that sustainability, uh, was great about little less than a month ago or about a month ago. Um, but I like to see more news like that coming out. H C Wainwright cuts price target for current that's NASDAQ listed K E R N from $7 to $5.Um, I do not read into this very heavily. I think a Corona is one of those. Leading service providers in this industry. They're obviously not thriving. Uh, like the, I would say the hydroponics companies are right now. And I think for obvious reasons there, I don't think their services are quite as expensive.Um, but at the same time, I think a current grows as this industry grows because there is no major competition to them as. Current moment, in my opinion, terrorists and TRS SF shareholders overwhelmingly approved gauge acquisition and the amendment. Uh, so that should continue to move forward relatively rapidly.Uh, after this. Now we dive into the first bit of sundial news, that's S and D L and the NASDAQ again, announces share repurchase program of up to a hundred million Canadian. So that is huge. Um, a lot of discussion and it really the biggest negative about them this year was the stock dilution. Um, I think this is the step to counter that counter.Um, the claims that their shares are not worth as much as they should be. I think this is a step toward rectifying that for them, or at least to make it appear. So, uh, all right. Y'all earnings, earnings, earnings, earnings. We are keeping rolling on that train. Plenty more to get to today. Hydro farm is where we're starting.H Y F M revenue declined 7% year over year to $128 million. Um, I believe that is still the leading. Um, public, at least the leading public company in terms of revenue, quarterly revenue for a hydroponics company that I can think of that being said, you know, you obviously want to see positive trends if you're invested in them.Um, but to call out both sides, hydro farm, obviously doing well, but not trending in the right direction as is . Urban grow, but similar to grow generation. So an interesting correlation there, Columbia care, CCH WF record, quarterly revenue of 132.3 million up 144% year over year and 22% quarter over quarter, California is still being the company's, uh, highest revenue by state with Colorado.Uh, they've really focused on expanding there over the last few quarters, uh, and they've done a great job at really controlling that market, in my opinion. Jumping to glass house group. That's G L a S F on the OTC net revenue up 29% year over year to 17.2 million. But unfortunately down 8% quarter over quarter, they are still the number one brain ranked brand in sales in California. So that is something I have a lot of faith in glass house. I think Kyle and Graham are doing great things over there. No, I, I think, um, there's a lot to prove still, you know, I think there's a lot of companies that could still enter California and just take over that market. Um, and I think as corporate and culture mix, I think glass house is really well positioned to tackle both sides.I love their sustainability, uh, activations. I love a lot about. Um, but you know, we obviously want to see that sequential revenue, uh, increase right now and not decrease as the market emerges maps. That is Weedmaps or WM holdings on the NASDAQ, M a P S revenue of 50.9 million us revenue up 46% year over year and overall revenue up 9% year over year, Q4 revenue supposed to be between 50 and 52 million. So not anticipating the large growth, uh, by the end of the fiscal. Uh, CIN wellness holdings, that's AWL H revenue up 13.2% quarter over quarter to 94.4 million. Interesting factoid nine months 2021 revenue is up a hundred million over the same nine months in 2020. So, you know, as sin, wellness is one that has just blasted in the tier one territory. In my opinion, I love, uh, what Abner and team is doing over there. They're backed by Poseidon and the, and Emily. Emily Paxio, uh, and several others. And I just, I love ascend wellness, uh, pretty much all the way around. Uh, we will dive into the REIT section really quick, new lake capital partners. That's in LCP revenue up 22% quarter over quarter and up 135% year over year to 8.1 million.Of course, they closed their IPO with proceeds of 102 million in August. I think new lake is poised to be one of them. Three to four leaders in the real estate investment trust landscape in cannabis, and a lot of faith in them. And if you're looking for an interesting ciliary play, uh, I, I, I would definitely keep an LCP on your watch list. All right, I'll wrapping it up with sundial on my end, S N D L income of 11.3 million Canadian, as opposed to last year at the same time was a loss of 71.4 million, a massive turnaround for the. They are still, um, working off the success of their meme, stock status and the Reddit user craze, a S and D L I believe is still the number one cannabis stock, of course, on the Reddit boards.Um, and S and D L is, um, they're working hard to make it worthwhile. They obviously, they diluted a lot. They, they raised a lot off that, uh, that volume that. Um, they, they created a massive investment vehicle with sun, sun stream bank Corp, and they invested in Endiva. They, they purchased a leading retail brand in, in Canada. They've um, they they've invested in acquired multiple companies, uh, across the, the last few quarters. And I just have massive respect for what Zach has done this year and, and turned that company around. Um, so that is the reason S and D L right now is up some 25, 30%. Uh, in the pre-market session. Uh, so if you are invested in SMD L you should be having a great.Uh, again, cannabis stocks are volatile. Uh, just look at MSO S uh, they are overall having a good last seven day swing. Um, but their volume of course, massively decreased from that huge spike we saw on Friday from the Republican bill. That being said, y'all, I'm going to call it quits for my thing. My Lord Elliot stop being so long winded and get to Aaron.Thomas. What? Everybody's here for? Aaron? Are you there? My friend, I am here. What's going on? Elliot. How are you? I'm good, man. I need some water after that earnings get me. Yeah. I mean, it's a longer earning seasons. There's a lot to talk about. So it's completely understandable. Yeah. You know, Erin, do you have any, like, you've listened to me give like earnings reports, big earnings reports, the last three days straight, anything pop out to you?Um,you know, for me, it's, it's got to be the tier ones continue to just. Move forward and leave everybody else in the dust. Uh, and I think it's, it was less, less of that earlier this year. Um, you know, I would say, and this is in the operator space. I think the opposite is happening in the ancillary space. Um, but you know, that's kind of where I'm at so far.I don't think we've had a lot of the tier two Domestos, uh, report yet, and I'll be interested to see that and maybe they will, uh, change the narrative of this season a little bit, but to me, tier one and tier three, there's more separation now than there was a week and a half. Hmm. That's interesting. Why do you think that is?Um, I think that is because market share is going to dear ones. I think tier ones have more resources. They they're, um, massive inorganic expansion, uh, opportunities right now for them. Um, you know, and I think some tier former tier ones, like a goodness growth. You know, I, I think their earnings next quarter are that much more important because of this quarter, a little bit gray area, uh, in, in their reportings, but companies like curely and green thumb industries, it was like, here's my earnings. We're frigging great. Like they, they there's just no hesitancy. I think glass house group has the, the ability to become a major player in this. Um, you know, obviously you want to see that sequential increase, but I think they're poised for success. Um, but because their sequential decrease this quarter, it makes Q4 that much more important for them.Interesting. We'll have to keep our eyes peeled and our, you know, keep up on benzinga.com/cannabis for all the news. And, uh, up to date. If I had a soundboard, I would've done the air horn right there. Anyways, do Eric give us some news, man, what's going on? Let's get into it. Let's get into this Friday fund.Uh, let's start it off with some light fun news. A study, 60% of cannabis consumers would get high with their grandparents. A recent survey found that 60% of consumers said they would consume cannabis with their grandparent. That recent survey conducted by cannabis edibles brand a Zucca 60% of respondents.Uh, The same thing. So I said they would consume cannabis with a grandparent, according to the company, press release. If you don't know, Zucca not to interrupt you and keep your thought, but as Zucca is really cool, like science-based animals brand, I would imagine, um, you know, I think it's Kim over there who leads that, and I really like their brand. And I imagine they're probably poised for an exit at some point after they grow a little bit. Um, but I really think. Uh, if anybody was going to put that who's not wanna, or in diva or bang, uh, Zucca is a pretty cool operator to put that on. And what an interesting question. I wonder if it's because they all smoke with their grandparents over there, they get that wisdom from them, you know?My grandparents would look at me with a not so pleased. Look out. No, my grandparents would not be pleased as well, so we'll keep it. We'll keep it moving. The Americans and cannabis consumption survey was conducted online and it had 1,089 participants. The results were weighted. Reflect gender and age distribution across the 18 to 16 year old demographic, over half of the respondents were cannabis, cannabis, consumers.Um, so basically it goes on, um, and it lists a bunch of statistics that they found from the, uh, from the survey itself. But the overall sentiment sentiment is that the survey reveals. That there is still a need to educate Americans about cannabis while consumer demand is growing exponentially. Now is the time to bring sophisticated and approachable products to market that people can trust. That is a quote from Kim Sanchez rail, uh, via press release. So she's, uh, she's doing well. She's smart. Yeah. Yes. Uh, yeah, Kim. Absolutely. So, I mean, I don't really have much more to add to this, but I will say. What an interesting fact, man, I don't know who thinks about these questions, but like props or that person gives them today off.Exactly. That was a great question. And uh, brought a little fun in my Friday for sure. So moving right along, I know you touched on it earlier this week, but actor, Seth Rogen, uh, comedians, Sarah Silverman, kickstart cannabis in common campaign. I know you touched on the federal side of it, but, um, They came together to help kickstart cannabis in common, a public education campaign aimed at getting cannabis consumers, the broader public air and the broader public to contact their legislators about passing, meaningful, meaningful cannabis reform at the federal level.Nice. Yeah. I mean, it's really great for them to get involved. I think, um, this is, this is the type of industry where having a platinum. Could help. I mean, not, I'm not at all going to get political, but obviously you're always going to have discourse if you choose a side politically, but the vast majority of American people don't understand why this is illegal. So, you know, for them to get on board with this and, and push just common sense legislation through and utilize their platform to do so, puts pressure on politicians. Um, you know, so. You know, and more and more people get on board. Obviously, Seth Rogan been in the cannabis industry for a long time, Sarah Silverman, uh, for a time as well.Um, you know, and Willie Nelson and, and Jim Belushi and all these other celebrities that are in, um, you know, they're being as loud as they can, but there are others out there who could jump in, you know, and they don't have to be major smokers. To understand that this new industry would provide a lot back to this country.Right? I mean, there's always going to be like the Willie Nelson's and then the Seth Rogan's, there's always going to be a face and a voice of the general cannabis consumer. And I think it's, it's great for people with their stature to, you know, really push for these kinds of initiatives and, you know, Nudge Congress, uh, along because without them, you know, irregular people, excuse me, us regular people would definitely, our voices would get passed along for sure.Uh, generally, so definitely having a more prominent voice as the, uh, As the voice of the people in a sense, right? Yeah. Yeah. Thank you. Leo DiCaprio with his environmental work. I mean, he brings a huge spotlight to it and has become very well-known for it. So, um, I, you know, ideally, you know, if you have a platform you're using it for good would be the through line there and maybe an obvious one, but I don't think everybody, uh, everybody that has a platform.Maybe, maybe things like that. I don't know. I don't know. I don't have a platform yet, but that's what we're working on with cannabis daily in order to push cannabis through right. Cannabis daily is going to be the deciding factor for federal legalization. Absolutely. That was an absolute joke. Um, anyways, you got one more, man.Right? I got one more, some good news for Malaysia. Some international news let's end it off here. Uh, so you can get the full story here on benzinga.com/cannabis. I'm me give you a little teaser, Elliot, you know, so medical cannabis in Malaysia, importation and consumption. Is now allowed, uh, Malaysian health minister, Kyrie Gemo Loudin, uh, reported that ju Southeast Asian country will allow the importation and use of cannabis. For medical medicinal purposes. A prescription will be required to purchase medical marijuana. Prescriptions may only be issued by a registered physician or. Uh, as Bloomberg reported as well. So a good news for Malaysia. It's, it's great to see, uh, you know, cannabis coming in a more regulated sense, uh, to those countries, um, east island countries.Yeah, yeah. Southeast, right? Yep. That's awesome, man. I mean, this is huge. Asia is long considered just such a massive opportunity for this industry, but very few companies are taking. Um, the, the step toward it, I will say maybe like NPX out of Canada, maybe audacious brands out of the U S or two that I can think of publicly off the top of my head. But, um, Asia is, is that going to be a tough market overall, but any inches that are moved there? Um, so keep an eye on these international companies as well. You know, I know Tilray is focused on Europe. Um, inner cure is probably focused more on Canada, Israel, and probably some European activations as well.Obviously if you're a Latin American companies, but, um, Uh, Southeast Asia could bring a whole new aspect of this ball game. So, uh, that's very cool, man. Awesome. Aaron preciate you man. Always good to get you on. Sounds like you're fighting a little cold or allergies or something. So just a little bit, just a little bit, but we'll where are we going to bounce back?Come back, even stronger. My man, my man. Get that. C double dose today. All right, y'all appreciate you paying it. Beta dungeon for 20 minutes. I think this might take the cake for our longest episode yet, but I blame earnings. It is not our fault. It is the fact that you all decide to have all these people report earnings at the same time.Um, no, but really this is a blast. Please review as rate us on any podcasting network. Uh, obviously first and foremost, if you haven't seen the news Benzinga is acquired a 51% stake to Berenger capital, super excited for the future of this podcast of the cannabis activations in particular, uh, as that is what Aaron and I do here.Uh, every morning, uh, to bring you cannabis insights, as well as stock picks and news. Uh, and then also just for the company as a whole. So more podcasts, more information, more resources for you all stay tuned for that. A couple of months as we start to roll some new things out. I'm super excited about that.Uh, the reason we have not had a lot of shows over the past two weeks though. Uh, Benzinga hosted its last 2021 cannabis capital conference in New York city on Thursday and Friday of October 14th and 15th. Tons of major players in the industry, from the parent company and truly even unrivaled brands and juicy and Lowell farms. And I mean, the list goes on and on you also please check that out on bending as YouTube, you can find the playlist on there of five. Five tracks of content from the leaders in this space. I was incredibly insightful all the way around tons of institutional and accredited investors attended. And we look forward to doing this again, March 9th and 10th in Miami that's once again, March 9th and 10th in Miami, we already have a lot of these operators wanting to get on board for it.So you all can attend as well. Watch out for the ticket page on BZ cannabis.com. And then last week, of course, if you have. That attuned in-tune to the cannabis space. It is the largest ex. In the industry of MJ biz con put on by MJ business daily, uh, that it was an awesome experience. Everybody who's, anybody in the industry kind of has to be there for visibility purposes. We interviewed a lot of the leaders in the industry from Columbia care and green lane and high tide, uh, all the way to a psychedelics investor, uh, all the way. Now, honestly, dozens of others, we probably had a, one of the best lists of interviews at the event. So check that out as Aaron rolls that out probably later in the week.Uh, and then we also had facility tours of planet 13 of high tides, uh, central facility, uh, to their cannabis and ciliary e-commerce site in the U S so that was awesome. We'll also be rolling those videos out a little bit later this week. A lot happened in the last two weeks. But as I said, we still want to bring you cannabis stock picks and news.We have a little bit to catch up on. just, I mean, news upon news for them with their acquisitions of precision and cascade, and now introducing a new vertical farming unit last week at MJ biz, Jewishy had two bits of exciting news. That's J U S H F. They opened their 25th dispensary increasing their footprint here in the U S they also announced, and this is, this is the kicker yet. They announced an investment from sun stream at a hundred million dollars. I'm relatively positive. That's the largest investment by sun stream, which as you know, we've talked about it. A bunch is sun dials investment vehicle that's S in D L their investment vehicle puts a hundred million into us operator.I would say, probably in that tier two. Merging on tier one, MSO, a hundred million dollars. I mean, this is huge in any way you look at it for Jewishy and sundial. I think sundial gets a massive return on this, a juicy J U S H F just as very clean. Data-driven very. Uh, consumer trend driven company, loved their management, love their strategy all the way around.I'm obsessed with this news, uh, for growth Corp, FLDC received GAC P certification opening the pathway to dry flower export to international GMP producers or to markets where importing is legal. So for growth Corp increasing their reach for dried flower exportation out of Latin America. Uh, I'm a fan of FLDC.I think they get poo-pooed on a unnecessarily. So just because of their, uh, association in the Latin American community and market, uh, as Latin American growers aren't necessarily. Uh, first in line for investments these days, simply because of the U S market. But as Mexico opens up, as some of these larger markets open up, you know, these companies are well-positioned for an international footprint. So keep an eye on FLDC high tide. H I T I expands footprint to 103 stores in Canada. I believe this was in Ontario, uh, in Saskatchewan. Uh, again, we took a tour of their e-commerce facility. Uh, this past week, we'll get that video up. But, um, I mean, probably a top five, maybe top 10 largest footprint in the world, uh, goes to.So keep an eye on them. Inner AQR, NASDAQ listed. I NCR announces an unaudited preliminary revenues of $24 million Canadian for their Q3 2021. This is up 36% quarter over quarter and up three times for the. Same time in 2020. So a solid, uh, performance there. I went the way the market is trending in terms of performance and, uh, year over year, quarter over quarter.I do want to see this number up a little bit in Q4. Uh, as I think they have tons of markets at their Beck and call if they want to compete with the larger international players, but overall interfere a very solid play there. Fire and flower FFL WF takes its debt on its balance sheet. Next to nothing. Uh, as it prepares for new, a new phase in their operations, few, few more bits of news Canadian cannabis sales increased 44% in August to record $357 million.Uh, fantastic Verano borrows, 120 million at eight and a half percent in air wellness. That's Ayr WF raises 49.7 million through. Exercises. We did also speak to Greenlane about their acquisition of DaVinci. Uh, very exciting times for the anciliary driver there. This is Elliot lane that was six and a half minutes of cannabis, news, and insights here@benzinga.com.Tune into us every day. We're back on track for the rest of the year. Y'all looking forward to it. Let us know what you want to hear about cannabis. Our app benzinga.com is a way to get ahold of us. Today on Subscribing to Wellness we are joined by Human Improvement CEO Josh Campbell, COO, Jason Brown, and Marketing Lead, Miley Minardi. Josh started his career in finance before shifting into several retail roles at Starbucks Coffee from 2012 to 2014. Since then he has taken on a series of leadership roles at several health and wellness focused companies. Jason is a trader turned COO who held previous roles at Pollen Gear, a sustainable packaging company, and Greenlane, a leading cannabis distributor. Together, Josh and Jason started Human Improvement in 2019. Human improvement is known for their protein powder called Hi Protein. Hi Protein aims to disrupt the protein powder industry by serving as a much cleaner substitute to standard protein powders. The product is clean-ingredient, easily digestible, filled with prebiotics and plant fiber for the gut, sustainably-packaged, paleo, keto, organic, and lastly, made with cricket-based protein. Human Improvement Fun Facts: 1) Crickets are a future superfood #cleandigestion #protein #sustainability, 2) Human Improvement Protein is a must try if you haven't - I like mixing it with cold brew to start my day (so does @Jason!), 3) While Whey proteins push super strength & plant proteins push wellness, Hi Protein solves that space in between - it's easy to digest without bloating, clean, sustainable, and highly-functional 4) The protein powder space is a slow adopter in the sustainable packaging world; Human improvement uses 90% less plastic than traditional tubs and cricket protein is better for the environment --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/subtowellness/support

This week, we've got the band back together and are looking at listener questions on no less than 4 interesting stocks.  We have three YSOT segments for your listening pleasure. The first is on Lightspeed Commerce Inc. (LSPD: TSX), a point-of-sale (POS) platform solutions provider for SMEs in the retail and restaurant industries. Lightspeed provides an end-to-end solution that integrates front-end software, back-end software, and payments. A listener asks if Lightspeed could be the next Shopify. Our second YSOT came from a listener asking us to compare two renewable stocks; Greenlane Renewables Inc. (GRN:TSX) and Northland Power Inc. (NPI:TSX). Northland is a global power producer dedicated to a long history of developing, building, owning, and operating clean and green power infrastructure assets and is a global leader in offshore wind. Whereas, Greenlane is a smaller niche company that provides biogas upgrading systems that are helping decarbonize natural gas. Aaron takes a look at each business and their value propositions at current prices. Finally, Brennan answers a question on Nova Leap Health Corp. (NLH: TSX-V), which provides in-home personal care services largely to seniors impacted by physical/mental issues that prevent fully independent living. Specifically, NLH focuses on non-medical and private pay “home care” services with most clients being seniors suffering from dementia. A listener asks us if the recent acquisition will provide a runway for growth for Nova Leap.

This week, we start by revisiting one of our popular “Case For” Battles from a year ago. The battle, pits two renewable energy companies, Greenlane Renewables Inc. (GRN: TSX) and Xebec Adsorption Inc. (XBC: TSX) in a no-holds-barred cage match. Just like one year ago, Aaron takes the Bull case on Xebec, and Ryan crushes him mercilessly with the Bull case for Greenlane. May the best renewable, that Ryan is arguing for, win. Uncle Brennan sits in as judge, jury, and executioner. Our YSOT this week comes from a listener on Jack Nathan Medical Corp. (JNH: TSX-V) - an omnichannel healthcare provider that builds turnkey, barrier-free medical and dental clinics in high-density centers in Canada and internationally. The question is a follow-up to a YSOT from February of this year in which we gave a firm no to buying the company at $0.85. The stock is down over 43% since that time and a listener asks us if there is value in the current range.

Elizabeth Mc Ewan was amongst protesters clutching placards who rallied in Greenlane calling on authorities to save the Laura Fergusson Trust.  The Trust supports young disabled people with physical and neurological impairments. Its rehabilitation centre has been providing treatment from its home and respite care unit for almost half a century, so young people with disabilities don't have to be confined in rest homes. But the Trust closed the facility under a cloud of secrecy last year, outraging those families who depended on the service. We cross over to Auckland now to talk with Elizabeth Mc Ewan who is the immediate past Vice President Northern Region of PACIFICA (WOMEN) inc where she served on the Executive Borad for two terms until April of this year.  Part of PACIFICA Women’s philosophy is: ‘Strong Women’ ‘Strong Families’‘Strong Communities’ As a concerned community leader she turned up to support the protests on Sunday. Dozens of patients who spend at least 12 hours a week hooked up to a life-saving machine are devastated Greenlane Hospital's renal unit is closing. For them it's a "safe haven" and a lifeline.Instead, the majority of these dialysis patients say they will have to travel further to Kereru Kidney Centre in Glen Innes - a $7 million Auckland District Health Board 12-year project opening later in the year. While the DHB says the Greenlane clinical centre is no longer fit for purpose, many patients spoken to by the Herald were heartbroken, with one saying "it sucks, for me time is precious".Patients who need dialysis treatment have entered the end stage of kidney disease and nearly all their kidney function is lost.A letter to the DHB, signed by 35 patients and seen by the Herald, said: "We have no issues with building more dialysis capacity but this is NOT achieving that, at HUGE cost."Greenlane unit needs to be kept operating as it also offers good dialysis plus proximity for the people who rely on its services."Auckland DHB director of adult medical, Barry Snow, told the Herald it was a priority for the DHB that the people in the Auckland central catchment had access to dialysis care that was close to home and in a unit that was fit for purpose."We are replacing the Greenlane Clinical Centre dialysis unit as it is no longer fit for purpose and we have been told by our patients that they wanted their care closer to home."The Herald was told by a source the decision to open Kereru Kidney Centre was based on a 2011 survey which showed 25 out of 38 patients lived closer to Glen Innes but that was no longer the case. Now, 10 years later, the majority of patients live closer to Greenlane. When the Herald put this to Snow he said: "We've positioned the new unit where there is higher need. Our mapping shows that the majority of Greenlane patients live within a short drive of Glen Innes, and the majority of those who don't, live within a short drive to Pt Chevalier."In response to patient concerns about potentially waiting longer due to capacity, Snow said the DHB was not expecting this."There will be one patient to one machine on each shift, the time available on each machine will be same and the staff-to-patient ratio will remain the same."Patients who used Greenlane would also have the option of using Carrington dialysis unit in Pt Chevalier.Nora van Der Schrieck, chief executive of Kidney Society Auckland, said she really felt for these Greenlane patients because it would affect them the most."Some patients won't get the benefit that others will and I can understand it because my own husband was on dialysis for many years and I know what it means to be shifted around and to have things change when you are doing well the way things are."When they move they are likely to come across different staff so it's a big, big change, so I absolutely sympathise with them."But she credited the DHB, saying it had done "a superb job"."The project had involved more consultation with patients than I have seen with any other DHB."It's unclear what would happen to the Greenlane unit.Snow said the DHB understood that a change in location was an adjustment for many patients and it sympathised with them."We will be providing support to help them on this transition."Meanwhile, dialysis care across New Zealand continues to be a "postcode lottery".For example, Whanganui dialysis patients have to travel 75km to Palmerston North at least three times a week to be hooked up to a machine for hours on end.Our resident doctor Dr Bryan Betty has been giving Jack the lowdown on kidney disease.LISTEN ABOVE
