Generally she kills men who have harmed women and children, she is vengeful and murderous, and known to lure these men to their deaths. She appears as either a beautiful young woman with deer feet or as a deer. As Native political goals and social movements continue to expand in response to the increasing violence against Indigenous women, new retellings of Deer Woman's story have emerged.
