Dr. Brian Smith is back to talk about the book he co-authored with his daughter Mary Griffin. The title is Positive Influence, Be the I in Team. Our key takeaways from the book were: What you put into the world, you receive back. Call it the law of attraction, reaping what you sow and so much more. When you make space for positivity, you attract positivity.2. Your actions create opportunities for other other actions.3. Nobody has everything figured out. Everyone struggles with something.4. How you perceive the world and how you interact with the world are two different things. Optimists, as much we love them, won't always make you feel good. Visit www.IABusinessAdvisors.com today.

She accessed the support of a former teammate also battling cancer, decided this hardship would give her an advantage & chose to embrace the imperfections of the year, which was “Not a 10.” Mary teaches us, “If you are a mess, you have a message.” @margriff10, @hokieslax, @nota10_podcast

2019 Dec Let there be (twisted disco) house! Back in the Club! This one is all about the beats, the rhythm and old House clubs feels and sounds. Twisted Disco? House infused with a twist of Disco and Tribal. Starts with disco remix of the classic “Do you Remember House?” from Re-Tide. The pre-millennials will recognize the HedKandi homage. When CDs were still a thing and labels could make money, compilations such as the HK ones were a must and introduce a whole generation to house in all its forms and iterations. We paid for them, discovered tunes and artists curated by the music directors of the labels. A very different landscape to the A.I. spotified generated playlists which due to the algorithm merely selects a very narrow sample what you are "supposed" to like. The “Let there be House” series is my attempt to resurrect the genre with current tunes. There will be about 9 to 10 episodes in the “Let there be House” series, hopefully each with its unique flavour. No particular order but for the fact that we will go up tempo throughout the uploads. Sixth episode runs from 123 bpm to 124 and will get you on your feet. Playlist: 2018 Do You Remember House (Original Mix). Re-Tide 2019 Deep Inside (Original Mix). Sinner & James 2019 Calling Out (David Penn Extended Remix). Sophie Lloyd, Dames Brown, David Penn 2019 Hit It Off (Mighty Mouse Extended Remix). Qwestlife, Mighty Mouse 2019 In My Arms (Qubiko Extended Remix). Ferreck Dawn, Robosonic, Nikki Ambers, Qubiko 2019 Calling All Jackers (Junior Sanchez Remix). DJ Freestyle, Junior Sanchez 2019 HYPNOTIZED (Sandy Rivera & Juay Kennedy Original Mix). Sandy Rivera, Juay Kennedy, Heleina Zara 2019 Let’s Get Busy 2019 (Grant Nelson Club Mix). Clubland, Grant Nelson 2019 To the Sky (Roog & David ´Penn 2k19 Rework). Hardsoul, Candy Dulfer, Roog, David Penn 2019 Don't Stop (Original Mix). Ashley Benjamin 2017 I Miss You (Full Intention Remix). Full Intention 2018 Give You (ROOG Remix). Djaimin, Crystal Re-Clear, Roog 2018 My Love Can Take You Higher (David Penn Edit). Roog, Georgio Schultz, Mary Griffin, David Penn 2019 You Can Make It (Alaia & Gallo Extended Remix). Shawn Christopher, Alaia & Gallo 2018 Work That (Kenny, Angelo & Richard's Uncut Mix). Kenny Summit, Angelo Ferreri, Richard Earnshaw, Loves Last Episode Highlights: “Calling Out” from Sophie Lloyd perfection as far as current soulful house is concerned. “Hit It Off” from Qwestlife, for the beats and the build from the drop. House for peak/rush time! “My Love Can Take You Higher”, possibly the best soulful track of the year, tribal and soulful from Shawn Christopher. “Work That” for the description of a gay warehouse party with Larry Heard on the decks and sound system. Priceless! A bientôt. Xtian

Well folks, we made it all the way to our 50th episode, and we knew we had to pick a special film for this one. That's why Lewis and Nick chose "Ballistic: Ecks vs. Sever" (2002), one of the most internet-infamous flicks around. Too bad it kicks ass! Seriously, there's exactly one supremely-hated film that definitely does not deserve its 0% Rotten Tomatoes score, and it's this one. Listen & Subscribe on iTunes In our celebrity-driven culture, it’s easy to fall into the trap of focusing solely on our outward appearance and the image we want to project. It’s especially tough when you grow up in the fashion world as Suze Yalof Schwartz did. Through her hard work, she became known as The Fairy Godmother of Makeovers and a lynchpin of outward transformation at Elle, Marie Claire, and Vogue and many shows, including The Oprah Winfrey Show. But now, she’s focusing on a more legacy-driven mission that centers around transforming people on the inside first all through a minimum of ten minutes a day. On Episode 191 of the Are You Being Real Podcast, I sit down with Suze Yalof Schwartz, founder of Unplug Meditation and author of Unplug: A Simple Guide to Meditation for Busy Skeptics and Modern Soul Seekers. She talks about why she went from a ‘dream job’ in the fashion industry to her new meditation venture with Unplug, how meditation can truly be accessible for anyone, and some really great tips for stress, self-consciousness, and making every day a unique experience. Join me on her 30 Day Challenge to inner peace and transformation through meditation and download the Unplug App today! Although cities across the country have announced themselves as sanctuaries, the queer and trans communities who defined this movement have been routinely failed by those same cities' adherence to regressive policing tactics. This week, Jennicet Gutiérrez, of La Familia Trans Queer Liberation Movement, and Hamid Khan, of the Stop LAPD Spying Coalition, join Laura to take measure of the contradictions found in state sanctioned surveillance of so-called sanctuary communities. All that and Laura's weekly commentary on Hell in Hamburg and how the G20 could have been worse'. Music included "Soil" ft Ursula Rucker & "Place Delight" ft Mary Griffin comes from Stephen Emmers' Home Ground project. iTunes subscribers please write a review and rate this podcast
