MUSICThe three surviving founding members of KISS -- Gene Simmons, Paul Stanley and Peter Criss -- paid a visit to The White House on Saturday where President Trump recognized them as one of this year's five recipients of the Kennedy Center Honors, which is presented to those in the performing arts for their lifetime of contributions to American culture. Guitarist Ace Frehley, who died in October following a fall at his New Jersey home, was represented by his daughter Monique. https://youtu.be/MoEAlhUTVnEFollowing the ceremony in the Oval Office, the State Department hosted a dinner for the honorees, which also included actors Sylvester Stallone and Michael Crawford, country singer George Strait, and R&B singer Gloria Gaynor. Taking the podium there, the President spoke in more detail about each recipient. With a chair left empty in memory of Ace Frehley, KISS were honored by Garth Brooks, who, upon taking the stage said, “I see some faces of confusion. No we are in the right segment of the show, people” before performing "Shout it Out Loud."Also paying tribute were Criss Angel, Marcus King, and Cheap Trick who ended the show with "Rock and Roll All Nite."Highlights of the show will air on CBS and Paramount+ on December 23rd. Garbage was performing in Australia recently, and apparently someone started tossing a beach ball around. Shirley stopped the show to RANT about the beach balls . . . sarcastically shouting, "Guy with your big [effing] beach ball. Ooh, I'm so scared of you. So thrilled by you. What [an effing D-bag]." https://consequence.net/2025/12/garbage-shirley-manson-beach-ball-video/ TVMiley Cyrus gagged while describing this fear on "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" on Thursday night. It's caused such a problem in her daily life, that she's even known for being a Grinch during Christmastime because of her issue with wrapping paper. She has an issue with how it feels, and the way it sounds, especially if it's touched by DRY hands, which is common during winter. Here they are:1. Non-stop working and challenging yourself. Quote, "I work 12-, 14-hour days on sets and keep up with everyone. I don't need cue cards . . . I learn pages after pages and I have a lot of energy . . . "I keep working, and I keep pushing myself to be better . . . because I love what I do . . . it keeps me young." 2. Spending time with family, and having active friends. Quote, "I have grandchildren and my own children, some of whom are in their early 40s. I'm part of their social circle. So I've never been sort of put in the group of, 'Oh, now you're an older person . . .' Not at all. Quite the opposite." 3. Don't dismiss new things, embrace them, and join in. Jane says she's "much more open-minded" about life now, and is "not stuck in my ways." She adds, "People say, 'Are you going to wind down?' I go, 'I am winding UP' I am loving life. NOW is it . . . I only want to do things that I'm passionate about . . . and I make sure that, even if it's work, that I turn it into a fun life experience." Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift never fight. Nor do George and Amal Clooney. Not about work, money, cleaning, travel or whose turn it is to feed the dog (sorry, cats.) An aspirational relationship goal? Or a flashing red flag? Also, this week the whole world is looking at Australia as our world-first social media delay kicks in on Wednesday, December 10. So, what are we to make of the poll that says only a third of Aussie parents are actually going to enforce the ban that experts are calling "a mothers' revolution"? Plus, Oprah Winfrey is in Australia and drawing huge crowds with her trademark a-ha moments. So why is Oprah still so interesting to Aussie women in 2025? And, there's a very relevant Word of The Year, and a very intimidating Colour Of The Year, and Amelia, Jessie and Holly have a theory that they're linked. Can you change a child's birthday because it's a bit... inconvenient for you? Content creator Indy Clinton wants us to believe she's doing just that with her "Christmas baby" and Sagittarians everywhere have thoughts. Plus, Sienna Miller is pregnant and in a negligee on the British Fashion Awards this week. At 43, Holly wants to know, is this the quintessential representation of the new era of agelessness? Also, Pilates is dead, strength training is on its way out and a mobility obsession is on its way in - but, Amelia asks, is scolding people with the "correct" exercise trends really the way to make women move? And an essay about motherhood ambivalence has Jessie pufferfishing. So, if you're not sure if you want kids, should you do it? Beer cans with the bride and groom's faces on them, a dress that just HAD to be Aussie, and a dog in a dress... Yes, we're talking about Albo's wedding, and the problem with marrying the Prime Minister. Also, what does the winner of the TikTok Awards — a dad of four who posts pranks and skits with his kids online — tell us about the different standards for the way men and woman 'sharent'? And everyone's talking about an Oprah Winfrey show episode, which is extremely 2011, about family estrangement, and the 'contagion' of going 'No Contact' with your family. Only problem is... Are all these boundaries kind of Oprah's fault? Plus, why Robert Irwin has achieved world domination by being... nice. Holly, Amelia and Jessie get into it. AND into some Mamamia merch. It’s hot and everyone’s slightly unhinged, so what better time to kick off the Mamamia Out Loud Summer Book Club than with the only novel bold enough to ask: What if you left your family for a road trip and reinvented yourself... in a motel off the freeway? Em, Jessie and Holly discuss female desire, boredom, creativity and how it’s somehow both deeply relatable and utterly chaotic to want to start afresh on a whim. If you’ve ever: Sat in your car for an five extra minutes just to avoid your family Fantasised about a new life in a different country Or simply wondered, 'What if?' A hard story forces us to face a hard truth: passion for God cannot replace obedience to God. Would you partner notice if you 'quiet quit' your relationship? You know, quietly moving into separate bedrooms, watching all your own shows in different rooms of the house at night, never socialising together, taking separate holidays... Plenty of people are doing it, and probably always have. So, is it always a bad thing? And is it possible to un-quit?Also, Ariana Grande, Cynthia Erivo and the world's most-irritating press tour. Yes, Wicked For Good is out and you will not have missed the two stars coo-ing over each other on global red carpets. Are they the world's greatest girlfriends, or are they playing us? She's had her childhood photo used in an "ugly" meme that's all over the Internet. So why isn't host Clare Stephens upset about this dissing of her younger self? Also: "You called me, you speak first". Does Gen Z really answer the phone with... nothing? And, just literally do things. This week marks ten months since I pivoted How to Trust Yourself from its original focus on chronic pain to the deeper work that had been calling me all along: nervous-system-safe visibility. In this episode, I'm pulling back the curtain on what that transition has really been like—the messy, nonlinear, beautifully human process of finding clarity through action.I share how I started speaking my new direction into being before I felt “ready,” what it's taught me about fear as a heat map to intuition, and why visibility isn't something you master once—it's something you practice, gently and consistently, as you grow. You'll hear:How intuition leads the way before the mind understands itWhy clarity lives inside fear, not beyond itMy 2021 story of hitting record for the first time (and shaking through it)How dialoguing with fear through journaling became the core of my methodThe breadcrumb trail that led me to realize this podcast has always been about visibilityAnd finally, I share the offer that grew directly from this season of unraveling: Your Story, Out Loud — a two-session coaching intensive for sensitive creatives, coaches, and entrepreneurs who are ready to find their voice and share it safely, gently, and powerfully.✨ Learn more at www.annaholtzman.com/yourstoryThank you for walking this path with me—through the pivots, the fear, and the evolution. This next chapter of How to Trust Yourself is about what happens when we trust ourselves enough to be seen.

Pastor Dru Rodriguez encourages us to invite Jesus into our doubts, suffering, and temptations, reminding us that He understands because He has suffered and was tempted Himself. He urges setting aside time to talk out loud to Jesus and expect Him to respond in everyday moments.
Following Jesus today can be dangerous and unpopular, much like it was during his final days in Matthew's Gospel.• Looking at Judas, we see how misplaced expectations can lead us to betray Jesus when he doesn't act how we want• Judas was a real follower who saw miracles and heard teachings, yet abandoned Jesus when his expectations weren't met• The sleeping disciples in Gethsemane mirror our tendency to disengage when faith becomes uncomfortable • Faith should put us in positions where we "contend" - entering the ring, taking punches, and staying engaged• Peter's denial reminds us that it's easy to follow Jesus when it's popular, but much harder when it becomes dangerous• When people accuse and attack Christians, the most important audience is often the silent bystanders watching• Like the Roman centurion who witnessed Jesus' crucifixion, quiet observers notice the contrast between love and hate• As culture becomes less accepting of Christianity, we must decide where we'll stand in relation to JesusDownload our free Echo Discipleship Guides at outloudbible.com on the resources page to dig deeper into these discussions with another person.Send Mike a quick message! The school holidays are upon us and Monz, Amelia & Stacey are back to distract you with some Millennial core memories, a flashback to Shania Twain and a playlist that will lift your mood. On the show this week: Genius or completely unhinged? Do our kids need ‘Social Media Prep School’? We've got thoughts. And, are you holding onto a room full of stuff to hand down to your kids? How A$AP Rocky & Rihanna and Sarah Jessica Parker are rebranding your clutter. Plus, the childcare conversation we need to have & one woman's controversial solution. And our recommendations:
We explore how Jesus's teachings in Matthew 22-25 challenge us to focus less on predicting His return and more on loving others in His name while we wait.• Jesus warns against trying to predict the date of His return (Matthew 24:42)• The danger of rapture date predictions is causing new believers to fall away when dates pass• True readiness for Christ's return isn't about knowing when, but faithfully serving while we wait• Urgency in evangelism should come from people's mortality, not speculation about the rapture• Jesus bookends His teachings with the greatest commandment and the sheep and goats parable• We demonstrate love for God by how we love and serve others• Beware of self-serving Christianity that focuses on personal spirituality at others' expense• When Christ returns, He wants to find us actively loving others in His name• Reading the Bible on paper rather than digitally can help minimize distractions• Our "faith journey" should be less about ourselves and more about who we're loving in Jesus's nameDon't let this podcast be your only interaction with Scripture this week. Today I speak with a father who lost his son Heston to suicide June 7, 2020"Andy Campbell's new book, Overcoming Life's Toughest Setbacks, distills his 15 core beliefs that helped him keep going when life didn't let up. His lens is earned: childhood sexual abuse and bullying, losing his mother young, estrangement from his father, a diagnosis of stage-4 pancreatic cancer with multiple surgeries and chemo, and the death of his youngest son by suicide. The result is a practical, no-nonsense approach—favoring humility, clear thinking, focused work, relentless curiosity, perseverance, and finishing what you start. Andy writes and speaks for people who are exhausted, hurting, and still trying, offering a framework you can reach for when you need steadiness. He lives with his wife and stays closely connected to his three adult children."More at askandycampbell.com.His Book: Overcoming Life's Toughest SetbacksIn this episode: we walk through key ideas from the book and talk about Andy's son, Heston (age 18) how he and his family has been processing their loss since his passing. We get a peek at Andy's father's-eye view of resilience and what surviving—and continuing to live with meaning—looks like now. He discusses his 15 core beliefs and how they are the guideposts he's documented (first for himself and now in his book) that have provided a path to continue forward. He shares his "why" is to share these beliefs with real life examples as a possibility they will encourage someone that they too can continue in spite of the grief -- feel it completely but still move through it.Support the show__________________________________________________________________________
