Episode vertigineux ! On s'est totalement emballé avec le plastique, mais pas tout à fait celui que vous pensez.. Une interview sensass pour découvrir ce qu'on ignore et que pourtant nous devons savoir pour faire les bons choix pour nous, notre santé et le vivant.Je ne connaissais pas Nathalie Gontard pas avant de lire votre livre qui a radicalement changé ma vision des choses.Avant j'avais une idée du plastique surtout autour du "matériau" plastique et en lisant son livre j'ai compris que ce qui était dangereux était en réalité celui qui est partout invisible dans nos vies : en micro et nano particules dans l'air de nos intérieurs, dans les peintures, colles, traitements anti feu, anti tache, anti....vie ! Qu'il se déguise aussi en faux bois, fausse pierre, faux marbre, fausse laine, faux papier.... bref qu'il s'est enkysté partout et que quoi qu'il arrive on est en interaction avec lui en permanence.Il est dans l'air, dans l'eau, dans les sols mais aussi dans notre corps. Vous connaissez peut être ce chiffre rappelant que nous ingérons l'équivalent d'une carte bleu par semaine de plastique.Nous voilà donc tous concernés et notamment celles et ceux qui prescrivent et choisissent pour nous, utilisateurs, les matériaux des endroits dans lesquels nous nous divertissons et où nous partageons avec nos amis et nos proches (hôtels, restaurants, cafés, cinémas, théâtres, opéras....)Cet épisode est au coeur de mes réflexions autour de la cosmopolitesse. Ce que la foret dit de nous ! (épisode publié en 2021)A l'heure où la sauvegarde de nos forêts est un enjeu majeur pour la préservation et la régénération de la biodiversité, j'ai eu envie de demander au botaniste Francis Hallé de partager avec nous son regard sur le beau.Après avoir passé sa vie à étudier les forêts tropicales, Francis Hallé porte aujourd'hui un projet aussi beau qu'ambitieux.. recréer une forêt primaire en Europe !L'idée : ne rien faire pendant 700 ans dans une forêt de 26x26 km afin que la richesse de la faune et de la flore puisse renaitre. « En laissant la forêt pousser, c'est peut être nous qui grandiront » suggère-t-il.Un projet transgénérationnel et transfrontalier inédit que nous pouvons tous soutenir en adhérant à son association ( https://www.foretprimaire-francishalle.org). C'est bien sur les conopées des arbres des forêt primaires que l'on retrouve la plus grande concentration de biodiversité ! Un trésor qu'il convient préserver de la déforestation, des monocultures d'arbres, de la coupe à blanc et de toute gestion intensive.Ce que Francis Hallé nous explique c'est le rôle fondamental des forêts dans nos vies. Une reconnexion émotionnelle entre elle et nous est nécessaire pour préserver tous les services qu'elle nous rend au niveau planétaire, car n'oublions pas que les arbres ont absorbés les ⅔ du dioxyde de carbone émis par nos activités.D'ailleurs le botaniste le répète dans cet épisode « on protège mal ce que l'on ne connait pas » et il nous passe des messages forts afin que l'on ait davantage envie de connaitre le nom des arbres, des animaux, des plantes que l'on retrouve dans la forêt.Dans cette conversation, nous parlons du beau du début à la fin.En effet, comme Francis Hallé nous le rappelle très justement, nous sommes certainement l'un des seuls êtres vivants à avoir conscience de la beauté. Through her correspondence, Dickinson appears in her many facets as a reader, writer, and thinker; social commentator and comedian; friend, neighbor, sister, and daughter. The Letters of Emily Dickinson (Belknap Press, 2024) is the first collected edition of the poet's correspondence since 1958. It presents all 1,304 of her extant letters, along with the small number available from her correspondents. Almost 300 are previously uncollected, including letters published after 1958, letters more recently discovered in manuscript, and more than 200 “letter-poems” that Dickinson sent to correspondents without accompanying prose. This edition also redates much of her correspondence, relying on records of Amherst weather patterns, historical events, and details about flora and fauna to locate the letters more precisely in time. Finally, updated annotations place Dickinson's writing more firmly in relation to national and international events, as well as the rhythms of daily life in her hometown. What emerges is not the reclusive Dickinson of legend but a poet firmly embedded in the political and literary currents of her time. Dickinson's letters shed light on the soaring and capacious mind of a great American poet and her vast world of relationships. This is Episode 14, Spiritual Warfare Scriptures, Season 14.Our spiritual warfare scripture for this episode is Ephesians 6:14b. Put on the breastplate of righteousness.I attended an event with a group of ladies, and one of the women made the statement. “It is better to be righteous than it is to be right.” I do not recall to whom the statement was originally attributed and could not find the author after researching the quote.Nevertheless, it is a powerful statement which caused me to think about what righteousness means in the biblical sense. Why is it better to be righteous rather than to be right? Because God is righteous, Jesus exemplified righteousness when He was on earth, and the Holy Spirit gives us the power to live righteously.My simple definition of God's righteousness is that He always does what is right. He does what is right, holy, faithful, and true. Here are just a few of the over 500 scriptures derived from the root word “righteous” or “righteousness” in the Bible.Psalm 11:7 — “For the Lord is righteous; he loves righteous deeds.”Psalm 97:2 — “Righteousness and justice are the foundation of his throne.”Psalm 119:137 — “Righteous are you, O Lord, and right are your rules.”Psalm 145:17 — “The Lord is righteous in all his ways.”Deuteronomy 32:4 — “A God of faithfulness and without iniquity, just and upright ishe.”Daniel 9:14 — “The Lord our God is righteous in all the works that he has done.”Romans 1:17 — “For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith for faith.”Romans 3:21–22 — “The righteousness of God has been manifested apart from thelaw… through faith in Jesus Christ.” God is righteous, and because he is righteous, he expects us to be righteous, and when we are righteous, we are able to wage spiritual warfare more effectively. Let's consider the breastplate of God's righteousness.The breastplate in the military sense was a metal vest that guarded the vital organs, in particular the heart. In comparison, the breastplate of righteousness is the spiritual armor that protects the heart and vital organs from spiritual attacks designed against you. It is your Holy Ghost armor.The Holy Spirit uses the breastplate of God's righteousness to cover your heart from attacks that prevent you from waging spiritual warfare. Whatever you are going through right now, you can focus on the spiritual fight instead of being concerned about other influences because God has your heart covered. Proverbs 4:23 tells us, "Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life."Desiring righteousness will make you want to serve God and be pleasing to Him; being righteous will help you to walk more closely with God. It will make you want to be more like God. We have a tendency as human beings to want to be right. Nobody really wants to be wrong, and it's very difficult for us to admit when we are wrong.Basically, we would prefer to always be right or right most of the time; consequently, because we have difficulty admitting when we are wrong, it could cause us to be puffed up and not be humble. Humility, as we have already discussed in a previous podcast, is important. So, righteousness keeps us humble as well because righteousness takes precedence over being right. So, the next time you want to be right about something, ask yourself the question, is it righteous? If the answer is “no” tighten up your righteousness breastplate and move forward into the next spiritual warfare battle.  Thank you for joining us today.
