Georgia's ruling party announced the withdrawal of the “foreign agent” bill from the parliament but implied that it will retry with a modified version that obscures its alleged origins in Moscow. Sadly, reminiscent of Ukraine ten years ago, Georgia's rulers are attempting to disguise their dependence on Moscow-leaning oligarchs in the face of popular outrage. Tinatin Japaridze weighs the vectors of Russian pressure and majority Georgian support for independence and Ukraine. Georgian, educated in Moscow and the US, Tinatin is Special Advisor on Eurasian security at Eurasia Group. Her debut non-fiction book, Stalin's Millennials: Nostalgia, Trauma, and Nationalism, was published to critical acclaim in March 2022 and was the subject of a prescient FPA briefing on the Putinesque mind set of Moscow. A forthcoming book on The Implications of Emerging Technologies in the Euro-Atlantic Space: Views from the Younger Generation Leaders Network (Palgrave Macmillan, April 2023) includes Tinatin's chapter on "Cyber Sovereignty: Should cyber borders replicate territorial borders?" - This briefing is made possible by the Foreign Press Foundation. On episode 128 of SOMEWHERE IN THE SKIES, Ryan sits down face-to-face with Nick Redfern at the 2019 Michigan UFO Con. They discuss Redfern's thoughts on Area 51, Bob Lazar, and then an in-depth look at his latest book, Flying Saucers from the Kremlin: UFOs, Russian Meddling, Soviet Spies & Cold War Secrets Russian meddling: they are two words that just about everyone has come to know very well in the last few years. Only a fool – or someone with an agenda of a sinister kind – would deny that such meddling occurred. But, who knew that for decades the Russians secretly used the UFO phenomenon as a means to try and destabilize the West? Why did the Russians try to recruit some of the most well-known UFO “Contactees” of the 1950s? What’s the connection between the KGB and the notorious Majestic 12 documents? Why did the Soviet Union fabricate tales of aliens and feed them to the Pentagon? Does the UFO meddling still continue to this day? This and much more. This week on The Micah Hanks Program, we bring news of an exciting discovery: a new species of dinosaur was recently unearthed from the depths... of a museum's archives. This reminds us of the strange affair of the "Pangboche Yeti Hand," a portion of which was smuggled out of Tibet decades ago by legendary tracker Peter Byrne, along with the help of actor Jimmy Stewart. The relic met a similar fate, where it languished in a museum archive for decades before its rediscovery. We then turn our attention to disturbing reports of cattle deaths out of Oregon, which bear all the markings of such "classic" mutilations... apart from the initial reports that indicated the animals had apparently been shot in the head. This was later amended, when further reporting on the strange animal deaths featured supposition by law enforcement that the creatures might have been poisoned, but not by any conventional or unintended means. It's time that we get to the bottom of the mutilations, the senseless killing of livestock, and the destruction of property that their deaths entail. Then later in the program, "Russian meddling” is a common term we hear in the news today, many are unaware that for decades, the Russians secretly used the UFO phenomenon as a means to try and destabilize the West. But why did the Soviet Union fabricate tales of aliens and feed them to the Pentagon, and does the UFO meddling still continue to this day? Joining us to discuss this is Nick Redfern, author of more than forty books that include Area 51: The Revealing Truth of UFOs, Secret Aircraft, Cover-Ups & Conspiracies and his latest book, Flying Saucers from the Kremlin: UFOs, Russian Meddling, Soviet Spies & Cold War Secrets. Nick has appeared on many TV shows, including the BBC’s Out of This World; the SyFy Channel’s Proof Positive; the History Channel’s Monster Quest, America’s Book of Secrets and UFO Hunters; the National Geographic Channel’s Paranatural; and MSNBC’s Countdown. Gene and Randall present the ever-prolific Fortean author, Nick Redfern, to discuss his very latest book, ” Flying Saucers from the Kremlin: UFOs, Russian Meddling, Soviet Spies & Cold War Secrets.” The book presents a compelling case for deep Russian involvement in the UFO field, which may have included recruiting those infamous contactees of the 1950s to become spies, fabricating the MJ-12 documents, feeding faux claims of alien visitation and more. Is it possible that, in addition with meddling with U.S. elections, the Russians are still involved in spreading UFO disinformation? Nick Redfern is the author of more than 40 books covering UFOs and other paranormal events. He’s been featured on a number of radio and TV shows, and is a frequent guest on The Paracast.

The Director of National Intelligence (DNI) for the United States, Mr. Dan Coats, recently issued a very chilling warning– “[Before 9/11, 2001] the system was ‘blinking red.’ Here we are, nearly two decades later, and I’m here to say the warning lights are blinking red again … “Today, the digital infrastructure that serves this country is literally under attack! “The warning signs are there. The system is blinking, and it is why I believe we’re at a critical point [of a possible] crippling cyber-attack on our critical infrastructure ….” Tonight, with former White House Policy Analyst, Barbara Honeggar, we shall explore not only the eerie — if not incredibly suspicious — “parallels with 911” that the DNI is now raising, but the latest striking developments in Honegger’s on-going investigation of the original 911 that point — more clearly than ever — to September 11, 2001 as a classic “false flag [...]

The midterm elections are in serious danger of being hacked. Why has the White House and its GOP allies in Congress done so little to combat the threat? On this week's episode, reporters Pema Levy and AJ Vicens discuss their new investigation into the escalating danger Russia poses to the 2018 elections. Also on the show, MoJo DC bureau chief David Corn breaks down the biggest misconception about Robert Mueller's endgame.
Facebook has recently taken down 32 accounts that they believe were fake and pushing propaganda designed to target the left AND the right. The goal seems to be to get everyone to fight each other. When the media frames it only as Donald Trump and Putin colluding then people on the right assume its more trump derangement syndrome and don't take it seriously. When we hear about Russian trolls meddling too many people only hear about it targeting the right. But they want us fighting, they want the left and right at each others throats. Making Russia great again has long been a domestic and foreign policy goal of Vladimir Putin and his Russian base of support. This week's Deep Dish explores Russian politics, foreign and domestic, that are geared toward making that wish a reality.
Jonathan Freedland explores the parallels between recent alleged Russian state interference in the American and other foreign elections, and covert British activities of the British Security Coordination (BSC), a secret arm of MI6 founded in May 1940. The motivations in each case are very different of course but some of the methods used then and now are very similar and offer an interesting parallel. Based in New York, BSC was initially simply the MI6 regional station in North America, it's mission - to gather intelligence and to help get American aid in the form of munitions. But the greatest obstacle to getting American aid is American isolationism. America at this point is almost in a civil war of ideas between those who want to go to war; and those who do not - the isolationists. The maverick head of BSC, a Canadian named William Stephenson, soon realises they have to win the civil war of ideas before anything can happen. and takes matters into his own hands. By the spring of 1941- after the effects of Dunkirk and the Battle of Britain - Prime Minister Winston Churchill and the Foreign Office, wary of using propaganda as they know the Americans are watching out for it, come to accept that without America, Britain would undoubtedly lose the war. On the panel with Jonathan are historian Henry Hemming, the novelist William Boyd, Russian foreign policy expert Dr Alex Pravda at Oxford University; Dr Leslie Vinjamuri, associate fellow with the US Programme at Chatham House, and Sir Mark Lyall Grant, the former national security adviser to the Prime Minister. Reader: Tobias Menzies. Producer: Mohini Patel.
