Today's Headlines: Senator Jeff Merkley just pulled a 22-hour Senate marathon to warn that Trump is “shredding the Constitution” and that the U.S. faces its biggest threat since the Civil War. Over in the GOP, Indiana's Sen. Todd Young wants answers on the administration's Venezuela boat strikes, which have killed 32 people so far—though Trump has already posted the explosions on Truth Social, so technically, Congress has been briefed. Meanwhile, Speaker Mike Johnson still refuses to swear in Arizona's congresswoman-elect Adelita Grijalva, blocking her from becoming the 218th vote to force release of the Epstein files. Arizona's AG is now suing him for disenfranchising 813,000 voters. Trump also announced major sanctions on Russia's oil giants, even as one of Putin's envoys pitched Elon Musk on building a “Putin-Trump Tunnel” linking Alaska and Russia. Trump called the idea “interesting,” which means he's 80% of the way to commissioning a gold plaque for it. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Jonathan Clark Human Rights Conference in Berlin Highlights Christian Persecution Human rights experts met in Berlin, Germany last Wednesday, highlighting the increased persecution of Christians worldwide.  The International Society for Human Rights released a new report on Christian persecution at the conference.  The report notes that Christians suffer under dictatorial states like China, Cuba, and North Korea. They remain victims of discrimination and violence without state protections in countries like Egypt, Syria, Nigeria, India, and Myanmar. And believers face persecution in Islamic republics like Afghanistan, Iran, and Pakistan.  The conference also highlighted the suffering of Ukrainian Christians under Russian occupation. Johann Matthies with the Evangelical Alliance in Germany said, “Russian occupation authorities are specifically targeting Ukrainian religious communities: they are pressuring churches to cooperate or destroying them if they refuse.” Psalm 34:15-16 says, “The eyes of the LORD are on the righteous, and His ears are open to their cry. The face of the LORD is against those who do evil, to cut off the remembrance of them from the earth.” President Trump Continues Efforts to End Russian-Ukrainian War U.S. President Donald Trump continues his efforts to end the war between Russia and Ukraine. President Trump spoke over the phone with Russian President Vladimir Putin last Thursday. He then met with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy at the White House last Friday. President Trump also plans on meeting with President Putin in Budapest, Hungary in the coming weeks. Listen to comments from President Trump. TRUMP: "I met with President Zelensky, as you know, today, and we had a very good meeting; very cordial meeting. In my opinion, they should stop the war immediately. Russia Proposes a Rail Tunnel Under the Bering Strait Reuters reports Russia proposed a “Putin-Trump” rail tunnel under the Bering Strait to link the two nations. The eight billion dollar proposal follows President Donald Trump's phone call with President Vladimir Putin. Russia's proposal would involve building a 70-mile rail and cargo tunnel between Alaska and Russia's eastern region of Chukotka. The plan suggested Elon Musk's Boring Company for the construction project. President Trump called the idea “interesting,” saying, “We'll have to think about that.”  Trump Moves to Reduce the Cost of IVF Last Thursday, President Donald Trump announced a deal with the pharmaceutical industry to reduce the cost of in vitro fertilization. The Trump administration hailed the move as pro-family. If they do not speak according to this word, it is because there is no light in them.” Pew Research: Divorce Rates are Down in the U.S. And finally, Pew Research reports divorce rates, and specifically refined divorce rates, are down in the U.S. Unlike the overall divorce rate, the refined divorce rate takes into account changes in the number of people who are married at any given time.  This refined divorce rate peaked in the U.S. around 1980 at 22.6 divorces per 1,000 married women. By 2023, it had declined to 14.4 divorces per 1,000 married women.  The report noted that married men are more likely to be employed than divorced men. I don’t know any more. Listening exercise.” Trump listening to Putin telling him what to do. No crap. This is simple. Trump and Putin will leave this photo-op having agreed on something utterly agreeable to Putin. Like the cease fire Axios reports Trump told European leaders yesterday he really wants. You know what THAT could be: Putin will agree to a cease-fire if Ukraine will stop annoying Putin by defending its territory. Then Trump will claim a victory. Then Ukraine will reject it – although President Zelensky’s real play is to say it is too naïve an idea to even merit a comment, and any child can see that – then Trump will blame Zelensky and say he resolved the war except for the war part. That Zelensky screwed it up. Actually it may be worse. The Times of London headline: “US and Russia ‘propose West Bank-style occupation of Ukraine." Per its source close to the U.S. national security council: "It’ll just be like Israel occupies the West Bank. With a governor, with an economic situation that goes into Russia, not Ukraine. But it’ll still be Ukraine, because … Ukraine will never give up its sovereignty. But the reality is it’ll be occupied territory and the model is Palestine.” THIS IS THE TEST MARKETING OF THE MILITARY DICTATORSHIP: Trump says sure he'll go to Congress to get the use of troops authorized in DC past the 30-day limit. Or he'll just declare a national emergency. He boasts he closed the border and didn't get anybody's permission. He is moving towards the takeover. We are this close to him in the Kim Jong Un hat. THE TRUMPSTEIN COVER-UP CONTINUES: Karoline "Noble Prize" Leavitt explains Trump “wants to see credible evidence released." The part she leaves out is that of course he wants to make sure that this evidence is NOT released.
