Project Amelia: An AI assistant that promises to revolutionize how sellers interact with Seller Central. Amazon says it can answer any seller question on inventory, demand, and more.You can ask Amelia your questions in your own words and get personalized guidance and support to help you run your business.It will be available in Beta today and rolled out to US sellers over the next few months. 2. Business Planner: This tool aims to simplify goal-setting and tracking with personalized plans to help you achieve your business objectives.It combines your sales traffic and product data with market intelligence and Amazon's performance modeling capabilities to create a personalized plan to reach your goals.Business Planner is available for use TODAY.3. Custom Analytics: This tool will allow you to create customized dashboards and reports without needing advanced SQL skills.It's the flipside to the Business Planner, offering more flexibility to dive deeper into your data and build customized dashboards for the exact views of your business that you want to see.Custom Analytics will be rolled out over the coming weeks. These developments are exactly what I had in mind when I talked about simplified data access and better data management solutions. And it's great to see Amazon taking steps to make AMC more accessible and valuable for all sellers!But will these tools be as useful as Amazon promises? For most, Q4 is an important time for Amazon Sellers.   John Cavendish is the CEO & Founder of Seller Candy. La principal conferencia anual para vendedores de Amazon tuvo lugar del 14 al 15 de septiembre de 2022. Los asistentes escucharon directamente a los altos directivos de Amazon y expertos en nuevos productos, herramientas y recursos. Para los que se perdieron Amazon Accelerate, aquí contamos todo en detalle con nuestra invitada Vanessa Hung, quien fue co-host de este podcast y que cuenta con una amplia experiencia en Amazon. “Amazon Accelerate es una conferencia completamente empapada en Amazon. Es la gran plataforma que ellos tienen de relaciones públicas para lanzar todas las cosas que van a hacer y comparten la visión que tienen para el siguiente año con su marketplace”, explica Vanessa, y agrega: “La invitación les llega primero a los vendedores más grandes de Amazon, los que tienen más ventas al año, y luego van mandando más correos a marcas más pequeñas que estén en la zona, según venga la registración”. Entre los anuncios nuevos está el Product Opportunity Explorer, una herramienta dentro de Amazon que es para hacer una investigación exhaustiva de productos y ver cuáles se están vendiendo más, cuáles son las keywords y la competencia, etc. “Es un tool dentro de Seller Central que sustituirá a Jungle Scout, Helium 10, etc. Ahora Amazon lo tiene ahí adentro”, afirma Vanessa. Asimismo, nuestra invitada nos cuenta que “antes nada más podías hacer búsquedas por keyword, pero ahora puedes buscar por ASIN, categoría y nicho, cosa que te abre el panorama de cosas que puedes hacer”: “Si quieres empezar a hacer la búsqueda de producto con un ASIN que te llama la atención, te va a sacar toda la data en base a ese ASIN”, celebra Vanessa. Lo que destacaron también durante Amazon Accelerate son las reviews. “El feature que estábamos hablando de las reviews va a decirte cuáles son las reseñas positivas y negativas. Si en la review negativa dice que el producto falló, vas a ver una palabra clave negativa, como así también sucederá con las positivas. Entonces te da la información de lo que está haciendo mal y bien ese producto. Esta data Amazon ya la tenía, simplemente que ahora la está compartiendo con nosotros. Es un análisis de cada ASIN, nicho o categoría para saber qué es lo que está pasando allí”, desarrolla Vanessa. También te van a informar en base a tu categoría cuáles son los productos que se están vendiendo más o menos: “Amazon quiere llenar esos huecos en la oferta, por eso esta herramienta en el Product Opportunity Explorer”. Dentro de Product Opportunity Explorer, hay otra implementación que se llama Amazon Growth Opportunities, que nos dice cuánto nos puede beneficiar hacer ciertos cambios en nuestros listings, es decir, que nos informa cuánto podemos ganar en visualización y dinero haciendo la modificación que ellos nos recomiendan, y cabe remarcar que este servicio no tiene costo alguno. Otra novedad se basa en el Email Marketing dentro de Amazon. Actualmente tenemos cuatro audiencias. La primera, que es a lo que todos tenemos acceso hoy, es el Brand Followers. “En el Email Marketing Tool lo que puedes hacer es mandarles campañas a los clientes cuando lanzas un nuevo producto, promoción, etc, pero si tus compradores no te siguen no les vas a poder hablar”, comenta Vanessa. No obstante, en Amazon Accelerate anunciaron que entró una nueva herramienta que nos da acceso a tres nuevas audiencias: la primera son los compradores que nos han comprado más de una vez, la segunda son los que más han gastado dinero con nosotros y la tercera son los que nos han comprado recientemente. “Este Amazon Tailored Audiences lo que va a hacer es sacar del juego a software adicionales, como Helium 10. Y hasta han habido suspensiones de cuentas que usan esas herramientas”, alerta nuestra invitada. “Las otras tres audiencias que abrieron están disponibles sólo para las marcas que han hecho campañas para su Brand Followers. Tienes que tener más de 100 followers y haber hecho en los últimos 30 días 10 campañas, es decir, enviar 10 correos, los cuales tienen que tener un porcentaje de apertura para que puedas aplicar. Entonces si eres una marca hoy y te metes ahí posiblemente no vas a tener acceso a los últimos compradores, clientes recientes o los que gastan más porque no has construido una base sólida de followers. Por eso es interesante ver qué es lo que van a hacer las marcas a partir de ahora para ganar esos followers”, informa Vanessa, y aconseja que “para construir esos followers debemos empezar haciendo Amazon posts”. Damos un giro y nos metemos de lleno en un nuevo beneficio que es Amazon's buy with Prime, el cual tiene como misión utilizar la capacidad logística de Amazon para ofrecerles sus servicios a las personas que tienen su propia página web. “Si tienes tu catálogo en Amazon y el mismo catálogo en Shopify, el inventario que tienes en FBA lo vas a poder utilizar cuando alguien compre en tu propia página web, y la experiencia que ese comprador va a tener dentro de tu página web va a ser la misma que en Amazon. Es un voto de confianza y sabes que tienes la protección de Amazon”, resalta Vanessa, aunque aclara que “la data del cliente en tu página web sigue siendo tuya”. Otro aspecto a considerar es que si aprovechamos Amazon's buy with Prime en nuestra página web vamos a “poder hacer Sponsored Brand para que la gente termine comprando en nuestro sitio”. “Están enrolando vendedores para entrar en el programa y subsidiarles el advertising que hacen en redes sociales cuando mandan personas, por ejemplo, a su Shopify”, declara Vanessa. También tienen como misión crear el botón de Amazon's buy with Prime dentro de nuestro propio sitio. “El scale button es para cuando abres un caso más complejo con Seller Support y necesitas una escala del caso”, define nuestra invitada, aunque puntualiza en que “hay casos que no son escalables y hay un proceso interno donde Amazon decide si escalarlo o no”. Como cierre, Vanessa hace hincapié en que el modelo de reventa dentro de Amazon está desapareciendo: “Es más irrelevante y cada vez hay más obstáculos dentro de Amazon para que eso no exista”, advierte nuestra invitada, y finaliza: “El target de Amazon Accelerate, tanto para información como para ventas de productos y atención a personas, se basa en marcas. Having trouble getting your changes to go through on Amazon?  Making changes to product detail pages seems like it should be an easy process.  However, depending on the history of an ASIN and if it was created on Vendor Central or Seller Central sometimes it can be difficult getting changes to process on product detail pages for Amazon.   In this episode, Nate and Robyn discuss some of the common pitfalls that can cause changes to not be processed correctly on Amazon. Are You Using Flat Files? Many times people attempting to make changes to a listing on Amazon will try to do so through the interface on Amazon.  While it is easier to access the data via Seller Central, we find that oftentimes that listing changes made through the interface take additional tickets and can take a significantly larger amount of effort to get changes made. We recommend that whenever possible you use flat files to upload changes to your Amazon product detail pages.  A flat file is just another way to say that you make your changes via upload with an Excel sheet or CSV document.  You have to download a template from the specific product category for the listings you are looking to create or update. We have a walkthrough of how to create flat files in our Amazon Listing Support Facebook Group. We have found that ASIN changes made with a flat-file are more likely to "stick" without having to submit additional tickets.  When a ticket to Seller Support is needed the knowledge level of the representatives that handle the flat-file uploads seems to be more skilled at helping walk you through what needs to happen to make listing changes. Is Brand Registry the reason your changes aren't being made? One of the benefits of Brand Registry for brands is that it is supposed to lock down the content of a listing to prevent third-party sellers from making changes to the listing.   In the podcast, we give some tips, like potentially sending a prepared flat file to the brand owner if you are a reseller to assist you in making those changes.  We have found that if there is significant evidence a listing is incorrect it is still possible to get Seller Support to help you in making changes to product detail pages. Other Potential Issues- ASIN Authority and Retail Contributions In the recording, Nate and Robyn also outline some other common issues such as ASIN authority and retail contributions.  When working with clients retail contributions can slow down the timeline for listing optimization significantly.   Retail contributions are when the listing was created or edited on the Vendor Central platform.  If this was the case for your listing and you still have access to Vendor Central we recommend that you make your listing changes in Vendor Central, even if you are planning to sell your inventory on Seller Central.   Brian Johnson of Sponsored Products Academy Today we have Brian Johnson of Sponsored Product Academy (& PPC Scope) to talk to us about PPC and the REAL reason for the  end of Amazon incentivized reviews. This is a guy that has been in ecommerce industry for years. He started out selling banking equipment on eBay for seven years before a friend pulled him into Amazon. He began launching his own private label products. This was about three years ago when Amazing Selling Machine launched. Soon after that he got in touch with a large company that was struggling on the Amazon platform and needed help. Brian slowly shifted into doing more consulting work once he saw the demand there. He found that the greatest need came down to visibility. He needed to do more marketing which meant Pay-per-click Amazon ads. Once he began researching Amazon PPC, he found that there simply wasn’t enough information out there. He decided he had to teach himself. Like many entrepreneurs, his success came about solving the problems he faced. End of Amazon Incentivized Reviews In October of 2016, Amazon announced the end of Amazon incentivized reviews. Sellers could no longer give products away in exchanged for a review. This was a major change because, until that point, incentivized reviews was the biggest ways for Amazon sellers to launch new products. In their press release, Amazon cited the reasons as wanting to improve the user experience. Which makes sense because so many reviews were fake. This started a bit of a frenzy among Amazon sellers. No one really knew where to go from there. It soon became clear that the best way forward was to focus on Amazon PPC. Sellers began to turn their attention, and their sole attention, to Amazon ads in order to drive traffic. It didn’t take long for Amazon PPC costs to begin to rise. Brian did some research and realized that the cost increase began about a week after Amazon’s announcement. It became quite clear that this was the new norm and not simply temporary spike. Amazon sellers began seeing advertising costs increased by as much as 5-10%. For Free video training from Brian, click on the video image below: Amazon’s Benefit It may have not been Amazon’s main intention for the end of Amazon incentivized reviews, but they did see a major increase in profit because of it. In the course of his research Brian saw that you were still able to use Amazon Vine. This is Amazon’s programme for paid reviews. Instead of using a third party option, you could pay to use Amazon’s program which starts at $2500 a product. Brain also found that Amazon makes a lot of money from PPC. Over a billions dollars a year. With PPC costs rising by 5-10%, that’s a lot of money Amazon made by eliminating Amazon incentivized reviews. How to Sell in a Post-Incentivized Review World You don’t want to get swept up in the Amazon PPC craze. Everyone is moving to PPC, they are flooding the market, and driving up costs. You need to figure out how to sell in a 2017 Amazon. Don’t Do List Don’t listen to seller support. One of the biggest mistakes Brian is seeing is following the wrong advice. They call up Seller Support which tells them to run one campaign and increase their bid. These reps are not trained property and they simply give bad advice. They don’t understand how the platform works. This works well for Amazon. They make more money and can quickly clear out their support tickets. When dealing with a huge platform like Amazon you've got to expect that there will be places where confusion sets in. This episode is an example of that very thing. Karon Thackston is with us today to help us understand the new items within the Amazon terms of service. Not everything is coordinated and not everything makes sense but if you learn how to operate within the Amazon guidelines your products were ranked better and your sales will increase. Karon Is here to help us navigate the changes and make sense out of all of it. Amazon says you should make sure your title is less than 200 characters. Period. The rules have changed many times over the years but now Amazon has a new guideline when it comes to the length of your product title. 200 words is the new limit and you have to be careful because the back end will not stop you from putting in more characters. But if you do you could be subject to a suppressed listing or even worse, Amazon could change the title for you and not allow you to change it back to something of your choosing. You've got to hear this one to believe it, and you can hear it on this episode of The Amazing seller. Be sure to watch the Amazon style guide for what is allowed. Nothing else. You can take a few minutes to click around the Amazon website and find conflicting guidelines for how you should list your products on their platform. But today's guest, Karen Paxton believes that you should only pay attention to the Amazon style guide when you are trying to conform your listing to the Amazon standards. The things Karon shares on this episode are from the Amazon style guide and as you will see, are not all that simple. But Karon is a pro and can help you navigate it more simply, so be sure you listen. Why you should contact seller support over and over when you have issues. If you run into issues with any of your product listings and need to contact Seller Support it is likely that you will run into a support agent who doesn't know the facts of how Amazon runs. Why would we say that? Because it's absolutely true. You can call Seller Support and talked to two or three different agents and get two or three different answers to your questions. That's why our guest today, Karon Thackston,  recommend that you continue to call Seller Support until you get help with the things that you need. Eventually you will be able to talk to supervisor and get things straightened out. You should be careful with those search term fields from now on.   It wasn't too long ago that Amazon increased the number of Search terms you could enter in the search type fields in your product back end feels. But now they have come out saying that the search term fields don't really need to be used at all as long as your keywords are included in your description and bullet points. But Karon Thackston doesn't believe you will be penalized if you leave words in the search term fields, and is not recommending that any more experienced sellers go through their listings to remove them. TAS 105 : How To Protect Your Products From Hijackers and Losing Sales

There’s a ton of noise going on lately about hijacked product listings. It sounds pretty scary, and in some ways it could be if you don’t know how to stop it, but as always Scott’s got some great, simple, actionable advice for you as to how you can protect yourself from your products being hijacked. Don’t let it rattle you. You CAN take practical steps to safeguard your product listings from hijackers… now there’s no guarantee all of this will prevent your product from being hijacked, but it will definitely make it much, much harder for it to occur. Listen to this episode of The Amazing Seller to hear all the details. What is a “hijacked” product on Amazon? You’ve done the research to find and purchase your first product. You’ve listed it on Amazon. You’ve got it labeled as your unique brand. Then suddenly you no longer have ownership or control of the “buy box” on your own listing! Somebody has taken over your listing by sending products to Amazon that they “say” are identical to yours… but they CAN’T be. You’re the only one selling your products. You had them created just for you! Do you see the problem? Your sales will be impacted if you don’t do something to remove the hijacker’s products from your listing. How do you do it? That’s what this episode is all about so be sure to listen. The first steps to un-hijacking your product listing. What Scott recommends you do as the very first step if you see that your product has been hijacked is to send a “Cease and Desist” letter to the hijacker. It’s basically a legal-sounding, somewhat threatening letter warning the person of what could happen if they don’t stop positioning their product as yours. They are breaking the Amazon terms of service and could be kicked off the platform, so you’re using that possibility to motivate them to remove their product on their own. What exactly should you letter say? Scott reads an effective C&D letter verbatim on this episode, so make sure you put it on slow play and get every word! The importance of registering your brand. One of the things Amazon has put in place to help you safeguard your listings from hijackers is the “Brand Registry.” It’s a page on Amazon’s site where you can go to register yourself as the owner of your brand, give Amazon a lot of details, and set yourself in a very good defensive position should your products ever be hijacked. Scott recommends that every Amazon Private Label seller register their brand immediately, the minute they begin putting their products on the Amazon sales platform. If your Amazon product is hijacked, buy one of the products they are selling. What? Why would you want to buy the product that’s posing as yours? Because when you contact Seller Support at Amazon they are going to ask you to document exactly why the product listed is not your product. That means you’ll need pictures of the product, detailed examples of how it is different from yours, and the overall ability to prove that it is not your product at all. So the minute you notice your product listing has been taken over, order one of the products. You’ll be that much ahead when it comes to rectifying the situation because you’ll be able to prove your product’s uniqueness sooner. Make sure your product is uniquely different, as soon as possible. It’s OK to put labels or stickers on your products to “brand” them when you first start selling on Amazon. But you can’t be satisfied with that. Stickers are too easy to fake. You want to do something unique that will make it much harder for a hijacker to create a fake of your product. Things like engraving, custom packaging, or combining your product with a related accessory that will be hard for the imposter to source, all those and more can help you set your product apart. I've finished my first week of sales and am ready (and excited!) to report the results of that first week.  Toward the end of that first 7 days (on day 6) was a special promotion Amazon ran called Prime Day where a ton of extra traffic poured over Amazon's website.  Even though I wasn't one of the deals being promoted by Amazon, I aimed to harness some of the extra traffic with my PPC campaigns. I'm JR, and you're listening to episode 10 of the Branding Blitz!   That's right, we're in episode 10 of this podcast! This is still new – we're still at the very beginning of this story – but it feels like a pretty significant milestone to get to double digits. It might not seem like much, but sometimes you have to stop and appreciate those little steps that you take along the way to get to the big goals.   Man, has it been an exciting week here! There has been a ton of stuff going on both on a personally and with the business.   I hope this week has been exciting for your business as it has for mine... and perhaps less exciting for your personal life or at least hope you're dealing with a less stressful kind of excitement.   Trying to prepare for a cross country move when you feel this weak is not an fun kind of exciting. I have to say though, my wife has been a superhero with all of this doing the majority of the packing all while taking care of our daughter... and taking care of me too. Unfortunately, she's having to bear the brunt of it; because, in any given day, I generally spend an hour or so at most outside of my room, which we've got closed up to try to keep it as climate controlled as possible. I never thought I would actually miss doing household chores...   Anyway, in the midst of all this, it's been great to have some positive and encouraging things going on with this new business.   When I closed out episode 9, I had sold 2 units of my main product – that was day 1. Since I'm expecting this to be a gradual build-up of sales as I move up rankings, I was excited to start off with a baseline of 2 sales the first day.   That was a Friday. In my past experience, weekends have tended to do poorly for online sales. I don't know if that is true across the board or if it is niche specific. What I experience this first weekend could indicate this assumption is going to hold true, but I really don't have enough data to say for sure yet.   On Saturday I held steady with 2 sales and then Sunday I dropped to 1 sale – again, no big deal. Fluctuations like that are expected especially in this early stage and I didn't expect the weekend to be a big sales time to begin with.   Then Monday came and I sold 6 units. Not bad at all considering I'd sold 5 total the previous 3 days, and it made for a nice start for the week. I had a couple of people ordering multiple units – which was encouraging to see.   Tuesday, again I stayed fairly stable and sold 5 units which brought my total for the first 5 days up to 16 units. Having never launched a product before and knowing this wasn't a super high volume product I was super excited to be able to say I had had at least 1 sale each day so far – let alone to get up to 5-6 per day so fast.   This is when the anticipation really began to build for Wednesday. I've been seeing Amazon promoting Prime Day. I'd seen people mention it in a couple of Facebook groups. I don't have a TV in my room, but I've heard they were hammering it pretty hard with television commercials.But I'd really just been focused on getting my product launched. I hadn't put much thought into how it would effect me. To be honest, I think I really had tried not to get my hopes up and was expecting to maybe be selling 1-2 units per day and not really benefit from the traffic.   But when I saw that I was getting 5-6 sales a day, and realized that the PPC was converting well and would allow me to grab some of the extra traffic, I started to get excited... but I still wasn't really sure what to expect.   When I woke up on Wednesday, I think I had 4 sales already. By noon I had matched my best day so far with 6 sales.   I've noticed that I don't seem to normally get sales between about noon and 6pm. I'm guessing that's just a slow traffic time because it's between lunch time and the end of the work day.Sales did slow down during the afternoon on Wednesday, but they didn't stop completely, they kept on periodically ticking in.   They picked up again in the mid-evening, before slowing down again. They had slowed to what seemed like a complete stop at 15, but I had one late order come in at the end of the day and that's where I ended my first Prime Day with 16 units sold.   That felt like a pretty cool place to land because it was about 3 times what it looked like my average weekday starting out was going to be. AND even cooler was that it exactly doubled the total number of units I had sold up to that point. How cool is that to be able to say I doubled my total lifetime sales for that product in a single day! Honestly, I don't think it's unreasonable to expect this to become more of a normal day for this product over time, but it was pretty exhilarating to be able to sell that many units just 6 days in! I'll need to build up more organic search rankings before I regularly get that many sales in a day.   I had started selling in the middle of the day on Friday so it's possible I missed some morning sales, but if you count that as a full day that means I had one more day until I closed out my first week of selling this product. I was curious to see how extra bump received on Wednesday carried forward.   It's about 2 AM here in Oklahoma right now and I'm doing this because I can't sleep – but that also means it's just ticked over to Friday morning according to Amazon. I finished Thursday selling 5 more units of my main product.   I'm not sure if that means the sales yesterday didn't give me much more momentum, or if Thursdays are going to be a slower day, or if I just haven't seen the affect of the sales yesterday yet since they're still shipping out and my BSR is jumping around. My organic rankings probably haven't caught up yet either.   Anyway, it wasn't a bad day either way. It stayed on par with Monday and Tuesday. But something even more interesting happened today. I sold one of my secondary products. I launched the two other products along with this one. They went live at the same time, but I have done no PPC. In fact I haven't promoted them AT ALL. I wanted to really just focus on my main product at first before starting to promote those. I can't imagine they're ranking very well for anything in the search results, but apparently someone somewhere in North Carolina took the time to dig down to some bottom page of the search results and buy one of them. I know it's just one sale, but that has me pretty excited about the potential these secondary products may hold. Could they be more valuable products than I originally expected? I guess we'll find out in time...   So I closed out my first 7 days by selling 37 units of my main product and 1 unit of what I guess I'll call product 2A. I'll count that as a success for my first week for sure.   I've noticed a couple of interesting things in this first week.   I know the PPC sales reporting lags, but I was under the impression that it normally updated the sales from PPC when an order ships. But, if that is true I am getting some organic sales already. Amazon has shipped 30 units so far and my PPC report only accounts for 13 of them. So that's less than half of my orders accounted for. So either the PPC reports are even more delayed than I realized or I'm showing up in organic results more than I realized. I've peaked at some of the searches that I thought could be delivering some traffic, but I haven't honestly found anything major that I rank highly for. So maybe I just need to wait to see if my PPC report updates.   I've also been curious to see if people would order multiples of my main product, and it's great to see they already are. In fact, it seems fairly common. I am a little surprised how common it is because I already have over twice the quantity of my main competitor. But I already have several orders where people have purchased 2 or even 3 units. This shows that there may be some potential to add a variation with greater quantity that is a higher price but still cheaper than buying two of these. And I'd make more money off of one unit of those than two of these so everyone wins. I'd been considering doing that eventually anyway, but it's pretty cool to already have confirmation that this may be a good idea.. but the first priority is establishing the rankings for this product.   The other interesting and kind of frustrating thing is that over half of my inventory still isn't available for sale. It was delivered to Amazon's warehouse on July 6th. But it still hasn't been checked in. Both UPS and Amazon show it was delivered, so the box has been scanned in at their warehouse they just haven't processed it for some reason...   That box happens to have been the largest of the 3 shipments by quite a bit and accounts for 222 of the 400 units I sent in. Not to mention also over half of the secondary products as well. Obviously this hasn't been an issue yet, but it's a bit concerning so I chatted with Seller Support today and they said they'd put in a ticket to have it investigated.   Either way, I'm already thinking about my first inventory re-order. I don't want to feel like I have to log on and place an order ASAP when I get to Idaho. I'd like to have a bit of cushion and not have to worry too much about it. So I may try to place an order before I leave so it will get there a week or so after I do and I've got some flexibility in how quickly I get it to Amazon. Or of course if sales really pick up then I'll have it there and ready to get out right away!   Anyway, that's my first week.
