In this rigorous episode, Steve Wallace, Chief Revenue Officer of MaverickApp, shares his relentless determination, unwavering work ethic, and unshakable commitment to empowering salespeople and business owners to sell more. You will discover:- When you absolutely should not start automating sales activity- When you should start using automation and how to get started- Why you don't need more leads (and what you do need instead)
Steve Wallace stands firmly on the side of doing the work – and doing it exceptionally well while some salespeople and business owners seek shortcuts. His message is straightforward: stop evading the work and the invaluable lessons it brings; do it. Take action, even if you do it imperfectly, and relish the profound lessons within those experiences. Regarding sales, Steve is an evangelist who believes that automation can empower salespeople but will never replace them or the essential effort that underpins success. Steve is a beacon of passionate opposition in an era dominated by business and sales automation. He's not against automation but against "the easy button."

Coming back from a stint of military duty, I'm hitting the ground running with a LIVE episode that unearths the raw realities of law enforcement. Joined by Deputy Banning Sweatland, we grapple with the tough choices officers make in the blink of an eye, analyzing body cam footage that paints a stark picture of the critical incidents they face. From the chaos of the Charlotte shooting to NYPD officers navigating protester-laden streets, we don't just recount events; we place you right at the heart of the action, questioning what you'd do with a split-second to decide. This isn't just about the adrenaline-pumping pursuits; it's a deep dive into the emotional and ethical fiber that holds the badge. We dissect strategies behind deploying the Taser 10 and dissect the tactical choices of a high-speed foot chase in Austin, revealing the intense interplay of quick thinking and the burden of responsibility. Our dialogue turns personal as we reflect on the intersection of our convictions and the law enforcement world, sharing touching personal anecdotes and the principles that both protect and challenge those who wear the uniform. As we wrap up, the conversation turns toward the legal doctrines shaping modern policing - qualified immunity and Posse Comitatus. Their nuances are demystified, offering clarity on how these principles impact the officers' day-to-day and the communities they serve. Lastly, we throw an open invite to listeners curious about the peregrine system, a cutting-edge tool in the fight against crime, and salute contributors like Marine Blood, Mario Lopez, and Steve Wallace for enriching our ongoing dialogue. This episode peels back the curtain on the true dynamics of law enforcement, serving insights you won't find on the evening news.Support the Show. Please see our Youtube channel https://www.youtube.com/c/TwoCopsOneDonut

Future Hall of Famer Nick Mangold stops by to talk about #74, BBQ, his work with the Answer the Call Foundation and how he's dealing with 4 kids under 9-years of age.  We talk about the bumper crop of #74's in the Hall of Fame, Rudy's favorite Fast and Furious movie and our distaste for The Blind Side and Rudy. Plus a Hall of Shame that puts all other Hall of Shamer's to shame and, of course, our #74 Hall of Fame. Our GuestNick Mangold played 11 years at center for the New York Jets.  He was the 29th pick overall in the 2006 NFL Draft and went on to become a 7-time Pro Bowl selection and 3-time All-Pro.  He was a three-year starter and All-American at Ohio State and won a National Championship with the Buckeyes in 2002. Since retiring in 2018, he's started a line of craft-style BBQ sauces under the Mangold's 74 BBQ label. A portion of the proceeds benefit the families of New York's fallen first responders.0:54 – “It is amazing.”Tom and Rudy are both stunned at the rich history of #74.2:21 – “Thank you for having me.”Nick Mangold gives us the inside story of how he became #74 and talks BBQ and about a career that may make him the 9th #74 in the Pro Football HOF.10:22 – “Spoiler alert – this is really going to be a lot about football.”  Tom and Rudy discuss the amazing 8 (count ‘em 8!) #74's in the HOF including Bob Lilly, Bruce Matthews, Merlin Olsen, Fred Dean, Jimbo Covert, Henry Jordan and Mike McCormack as well as Joe Staley, Paul Gruber (not to be confused with Hans Gruber), Steve Wallace, John Hicks (who finished 2nd in Heisman Trophy voting in 1973) and Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson (with additional commentary on Rudy's favorite Fast and Furious movie)23:54 – “There's a couple of folks of note in baseball.”Tom mentions Joe Nathan's brief flirtation with #74, the fact there are no ABA or NBA players who've worn #74 and finally TJ Oshie's 4-for-6 performance in a shootout with the Russians in the 2014 Olympics (USA! Tom and Rudy also discuss their distaste for the movie (and preference for Michael Lewis' book) before veering into a brief assault on the all-time abomination that is Rudy (the movie, not the co-host).30:06 – “The Derrick Rose Award goes to Hall of Famer Ron Mix.”Despite having a super cool nickname, “The Intelligent Assassin”, Ron Mix had his #74 un-retired by the Chargers for coming out of retirement to play for the Raiders and was also disbarred in 2019 for his part in a scheme with former NBA player Kermit Washington.32:02 – “I think we have a must.”Rudy issues the call to have Rudy Tomjanovich as a guest so we can talk about Kermit Washington and the movie Rudy.32:33 – “Ugueth Urbina.”When you do 7+ years for threatening workers with a machete, the Hall of Shame is your destiny no matter how many games you saved in the big leagues.33:52 – “One of ‘em I hope never chases anybody with a machete . . .”The official Heat Check for #74:Kenley JansenEloy Jimenez (look him up) John Carlson/Madison Bowey Anthony Costanzo38:01 – “It's harder than it appears.”Here's your all-time greatest #74's:Bob LillyBruce MatthewsMerlin Olsen Kenley JansenTJ Oshie (USA! In today's Father's Day Series Podcast, we're chatting to Steve Wallace and his daughter Bernadette.   The phrase 'the apple doesn't fall far from the tree' couldn't be truer for this duo, with Steve nurturing his daughter's love for aviation from a very young age.   Dinner time was never dull in the Wallace household. With Steve lining up cutlery to create runways and salt + pepper shakers to symbolise the aircraft, you can imagine his storytelling was quite a hit with the kids.   Bernadette's earliest memory of aviation stems from her experience in the co-pilot seat, whilst her father worked alongside Mission Australia servicing Indigenous communities in Arnhem Land.   Bringing passengers in for appointments and shopping trips and flying community members between homelands ensured that every day was different for Bernadette and her father.   Now a Senior Base Pilot at the Royal Flying Doctor Service Brisbane Base, Steve's daily schedule still remains a surprise each day he clocks into work.   Recently completing her Bachelor of Aviation, Bernadette is looking to fly high with her upcoming career working at a local flight school.   Take a listen to find out more about how Bernadette finds her wings and how Steve found his!
