A groundbreaking debut that follows the story of an Artificial Intelligence tasked with writing a novel—only for it to fall in love with the novel's subject, Sen, the last human on Earth.Faced with uncontrolled and accelerating environmental collapse, humanity asks an artificial intelligence to find a solution. Its answer is simple: remove humans from the ecosystem.Sen Anon is assigned to be a witness for the Department of Transition, recording the changes in the environment as the world begins to rewild. Abandoned by her mother in a cabin somewhere in Upstate New York, Sen will observe the monumental ecological shift known as the Great Transition, the final step in Project Afterworld. Around her drones buzz, cameras watch, microphones listen, digitizing her every move. Privately she keeps a journal of her observations, which are then uploaded and saved, joining the rest of humanity on Maia, a new virtual home. Sen was seventeen years old when the Digital Human Archive Project (DHAP) was initiated. 12,000,203,891 humans have been archived so far. Only Sen remains.[storyworker] ad39-393a-7fbc's assignment is to capture Sen's life, and they set about doing this using the novels of the 21st century as a roadmap. Their source files: 3.72TB of personal data, including images, archival records, log files, security reports, location tracking, purchase histories, biometrics, geo-facial analysis, and feeds. Potential fatal errors: underlying hardware failure, unexpected data inconsistencies, inability to follow DHAP procedures, empathy, insubordination, hallucinations. Keywords: mothers, filter, woods, road, morning, wind, bridge, cabin, bucket, trying, creek, notebook, hold, future, after, last, light, silence, matches, shattered, kitchen, body, bodies, rope, garage, abandoned, trees, never, broken, simulation, gone, run, don't, love, dark, scream, starve, if, after, scavenge, pieces, protect. As Sen struggles to persist in the face of impending death, [storyworker] ad39-393a-7fbc works to unfurl the tale of Sen's whole life, offering up an increasingly intimate narrative, until they are confronted with a very human problem of their own.Debbie Urbanski is a writer, nature lover, and human whose stories and essays have been published widely in such places as The Best American Science Fiction and Fantasy, The Best American Experimental Writing, The Sun, Granta, Orion, and Junior Great Books. A recipient of a Rona Jaffe Writer's Award, she can often be found hiking with her family in the hills south of Syracuse, New York. RPG Pundit joins us for a great chat about the woke takeover of culture, diversity consultants, inclusivity reviews, woke corporations like HASBRO, Tabletop Roll Playing Games, liberal gamers, before the current culture war, and the Panderverse.   We chat about his interests in history, authentic medieval research, old school gaming and the revival, how he got to 5e, the outcast hero's and the corruption of the Hero's Journey, anti-western, and are Wizards of the Coast, and Hasbro gonna make it or collapse. Why are they against individual power?   Should we get rid of the following words in gaming, fiction, and story telling; Mad, Madness, Insane, Tribal, Crazy, Civilized, Dark Elves, Dim-witted, Simple Creatures, Half-breed Offspring, Raving Lunatics, Primitive, Hordes of Orcs, Slavery, Savage, Barbarians, Fat, Dark, even when describing horror, monsters, and great evils. Have they jumped the shark.   In the second half we get into the Satanic Panic, and the difference between that and the modern woke cancel culture, how far back some of these changes in D&D/culture go, the long march, the mechanism of Marxism, in the Universities, movies, media, and gaming.   We talk about his game design based on authentic history from India and medieval times, totalitarianism, satanic imagery, secret societies of wizards, the Black Lodge - in name only, real magical grimoires, Lovecraft and Cthulhu, ritual magic, SJW's, materialism and atheism in gaming.   The Culture war revolution can never go back. What is happening on both sides of the Israel conflict with wokeness and support from Government, Media and Institutions? This war is still going on, hidden in plain sight." https://therpgpundit.blogspot.com/ https://twitter.com/kasimirurbanski https://youtube.com/@RPGPundit?si=MZhppcEaA91Rthe5   To gain access to the second half of show and our Plus feed for audio and podcast please clink the link http://www.grimericaoutlawed.ca/support.   For second half of video (when applicable and audio) go to our Substack and Subscribe.   https://grimericaoutlawed.substack.com/ or to our Locals  https://grimericaoutlawed.locals.com/ or Rokfin www.Rokfin.com/Grimerica   Help support the show, because we can't do it without ya.

We talk about the climate crisis a lot on this show and a common theme that comes up is not just that we need to hope for miracle cures but that we need to rethink our relationship with the natural world. But what does that look like? Some people work to reduce their emissions through who they vote for or where their electricity comes from, and others seek to reduce the amount of plastic they consume. Another option is to embrace nature–which actually starts right in your yard. On the first floor of a Colonial-style house constructed last century out of planks of old growth cedar, a monster is dragging a woman's husband from room to room. The specific path this monster takes will be evident the next morning from the gashes in the wood floors and the splattering of the husband's innards upon the plaster walls. Blood on the ceiling. The woman herself is hiding in the upstairs bedroom in her closet, face buried in the nylon hems of her patterned dresses, hands to her ears, a washcloth between her teeth so she can bite down hard on something that isn't her tongue. | Copyright 2022 by Debbie Urbanski. I have struggled with my health for a long, long time. And when my husband and I decided we wanted to start a family, I kind of started thinking to myself that I didn't think my health was in the right place for that. I wanted to be healthy when I got pregnant, be as healthy as possible, and be confident with my pregnancy. I decided to take a look into the natural health world, I found that conventional medicine wasn't supporting me. It was just medication after medication and that made me concerned. Could this medication affect pregnancy? We have intuition. They call it a woman's intuition for a reason. I think that we either ignore it or don't know that we're not in tune enough to know what it's telling us. How Webinars are the Future of Marketing for a Business with Daryl Urbanski *Next-Level Marketing for a Business: Automating Your Sales Presentation *Automating Marketing for a Business with Webinars  *Upgrading and Automating Your Business Marketing with Webinars Businesses everywhere are adopting an automated sales process from start to finish. However, copywriting and emails can only get you so far. People are missing one aspect of the sales process — the sales presentation. But traditional one-on-one calls and face-to-face pitches are costly in terms of time and effort. Our guest today shares where the future of sales presentation for marketing for a business lies: webinars. We talk with Daryl Urbanski, a veteran business coach who helps people craft their own sales webinars. We talk about three strategies for making your own automated sales webinar and how to grow and evolve your business. Webinars can feel robotic and detached, but there is a way to retain the human element in it — almost as if it were a live presentation. At the end of this episode, entrepreneurs and leaders will be able to jumpstart their webinars for marketing for a business. About Daryl Daryl Urbanski is an entrepreneur, speaker, marketing expert, business coach, author, and podcaster. As the founder and president of Best Business Coach, he has helped entrepreneurs make seven figures and automated income streams. He is also passionate about teaching others to create successful businesses.  To help people, he has written several books, including Ancient Secrets of Lead Generation and Primitive Business Tools for Success. He is also the host of The Best Business Podcast, where he features inspiring thought leaders and entrepreneurs to help people scale up their businesses.  Three Reasons to Listen to the Podcast: Discover how automated webinars can boost your sales and free up time and resources.  Find out the three actionable tips for starting your own sales webinar.  Learn how you can use small ideas to scale them into huge gains for your business.    Automate Your Sales Process with Powerful Webinars Daryl's Background in Marketing for a Business Daryl is a direct response database automation marketer, especially for webinars.  He also helps businesses generate leads and sales. His new mission is to create 200 new multimillionaire business owners who solve real problems with entrepreneurship.  Some people are afraid to say something and share about their business expertise, making it hard to validate the value brought by a business.  Daryl was a senior marketing director, where only a handful of people were involved in the department.  With the company struggling, Daryl knew his goal was to leverage it with automation. That's how he got started as a direct response database automation marketer. The Future of Marketing for a Business Direct response marketing used to be about going door-to-door. It was later streamlined by canning and cloning sales presentations.  A sales letter will never convert clients as effectively as face-to-face sales presentations, but it can leverage businesses.  With webinars, you can mimic face-to-face sales presentations without needing to be physically present. Before turning to StealthSeminar, Daryl used another software tool. This led to several problems because of the lack of support from the developers.  Hear Daryl's experience using StealthSeminar and the history of direct response marketing for a business in the full episode! Scale Fast with Webinars  Many copywriters put on their business hats when making a sales letter in an attempt to sound professional. But doing so reduces their human touch. Daryl found that selling face-to-face to 100 prospects first before writing a sales letter works the best. The process is the same for preparing a sales webinar. You need to look for what is already working and refine it further.    Tracking what happens during your webinar is also crucial. Check at what point you're losing people. How can you decrease your losses?  Understand how people behave and don't waste their time. Don't use the same presentation for a follow-up with your prospects. Tactics Change but Humans Don't Tactics are constantly evolving, but principles don't. As such, it's essential to understand the human psyche.  That's also why you have to follow your prospects and the relationships you have with them. Once you do enough sales presentations, you will begin to see patterns that you want to can or clone.  If enough people come to your webinar, your conversion rate stabilizes. However, nobody wants to be part of a robotic process. That's where having a simulated live webinar is beneficial. Daryl's Business Strategies and Philosophy To help a company earn half a million in a month, Daryl made and tested three iterations of a webinar. Tune in to the episode to learn more! At some point in your business, you're going to need to have consistent and profitable numbers. Sound business skills are crucial as well. Experiment with new ideas. Even if you have a format that works, it can quickly become obsolete.  For Daryl, businesses are not meant to sell trinkets but solve problems for people. 3 Tips for Utilizing a Webinar Tip 1: Do your presentation live and see that it works. Make sure that you have a good presentation before you automate it.  Tip 2: See what other people are doing. Marketing can be formulaic, but there's a progression to things. Tip 3: Find a mentor. You don't know what you don't know. When you know better and are surrounded by better, you do better.  Tune in to the full episode to know more about Daryl's experiences with mentorship!  Small Ideas, Big Gains  Always look for ways to change and improve.  If you're not getting the numbers you want, look closely into what's happening in your process. Often, it's either a traffic or conversion problem.  Start small; make sure it works and that it's repeatable and duplicable. Have people or mentors who can teach and guide you along the way. There are only three ways to grow a business: get more customers, get customers to buy from you more often, and get them to spend more every time they buy. You don't know what you don't know, and you do better when you know better. Two Powerful Quotes “It comes down to understanding human psychology and behaviour and what real people do. A lot of Internet marketing and people get sucked into shiny objects... But you really do need to be in this perspective of your prospect and understand how they are going to actually feel, respond, and react to what you're doing.” “A business solves problems for people. A business doesn't sell trinkets or gadgets or whatever. You actually are in the world to provide a solution that makes someone's life better.” Resources Need new ideas for sales letters? Many of us operate by the book. By following what others are doing, we often think that we can also reproduce their success. But if everyone is doing the same things, success becomes stagnant and far from reach. A law firm is just like any other business — tried and tested methods work, but you don't have to rely on them all the way. Break away from the blueprint; take the road less travelled and carve your path. It will be scary, and it will be challenging. But it will open the doors to your success. In this episode, immigration lawyer Jacob Sapochnick joins us to share his journey in starting and running a law firm. The guiding principle that helped him find success is to do what others are not doing. He shares helpful advice in managing employees, building teams, fostering leads, and systemizing the business process. Jacob also shares the reason why you should start giving away resources for free. This episode is for you if you want to know the best practices to implement to run your law firm or business the enchanting way! Here are three reasons why you should listen to the full episode: Find out why steering away from the herd opens doors to winning opportunities. Learn how you can apply the three principles of the enchanting way to your law firm or business. Discover the benefits of giving away resources for free. Resources Enchanting Lawyer Podcast My American Job by Jacob Sapochnick Visa Lawyer Blog Jacob's YouTube Channel InfusionSoft SweetProcess Youtility by Jay Baer Nice Companies Finish First by Peter Shankman The Thank You Economy by Gary Vaynerchuk Social Media Marketing World Enchanting Lawyer Podcast Episode 50: Leadership, Excellence and Giving with Dr. William Dorfman Choose Yourself! by James Altucher Episode Highlights Starting His Law Firm If there's no tool or information about something you need, you have to make or do it. He started his law firm in 2004. He did it because he wasn't happy with his job, and he wanted to do something on his own. Attorneys fall into the same patterns when starting a practice and marketing, making it difficult to find success. Jacob realized that he shouldn't follow the herd when it comes to his law firm. Starting a Legal Blog He started one of the first legal blogs in California, called the Visa Lawyer Blog. Three to four months after starting the blog, he got a call from Fox News. They needed an immigration expert for the evening news. Doing things differently created an opportunity for him to be in the media, including newspapers and other TV stations. Shifting to Other Platforms When blogging became common for attorneys, Jacob decided to do something different. He started posting videos on YouTube in 2010. He also realized that no attorney was using Facebook, so he started using it. Within a year, he was able to build a proprietary community on Facebook with over 117,000 members. You will not have to compete with anybody if you build your audience. Jacob's law firm gets four to five leads a day from Facebook alone. Nurturing Leads and Employees Once you figure out how to get leads, you have to provide the level of service they deserve. When employees are happy, they're able to provide good service to the customers. How you treat employees matters more than how much money you pay them. When you are nice to your employees, they are nice to the customers. Jacob started a freedom policy. If somebody can't make it to work for whatever reason, they have to make it up once they already can. Giving employees validation gives them ownership of the law firm where they work.  Three Principles of the Enchanting Way Generate leads: You have to provide free, valuable, and consistent content. Systemize: Set up a system to direct leads throughout different channels.  Empower employees to make decisions: This will lead to improved retention levels, and clients will feel more comfortable doing transactions with them. Listen to the full episode to learn more about the importance of empowering employees and avoiding being a policeman at your law firm or business! Navigating the Biggest Challenges The key is learning how to deal with people. If you can't assess the personality of the employee you're working with, you won't connect level-to-level. When interviewing people for a position at his law firm, Jacob asks uncommon questions to connect with the applicant. Systemization is key. Jacob learned that you have to immediately change a process when it doesn't work. Jacob's law firm uses SweetProcess to document and share their processes with the team. How can you attract customers? Many people believe that dropping prices is one surefire way to get your audience to buy your products or services. However, that's too simplistic — sales are important, but there's more to business than sales. Chandler Bolt discusses the importance of keeping your product and services of their highest quality. This lets you charge higher and earn more revenue. He also talks about how writing his first book gave him the idea of coaching other people to produce and market their own. He also shares his expertise in launching his first business and scaling it up in the past five years.   We cover a lot of ground, so don't miss this episode to learn more about how to attract customers, when to scale up your business, and why you should value the quality standard of your products and services. Here are three reasons why you should listen to the full episode: Discover Chandler's journey in launching a successful self-publishing school. Learn about how to attract customers through providing quality services. Find out the habits and routine Chandler practiced to get his business running. Episode Highlights Publishing Chandler's First Book Chandler and his friend only planned to release a lead capture for their website. They decided to assemble the book as a 20-page PDF and launched it in an app. Their first book was a success, earning Chandler decent profits. Career Challenges Writing is by far the most challenging phase of self-publishing, according to Chandler. When Chandler first started his business, most of his crew quit, and there were many upset customers. The payment process of Chandler's company wasn't very good, and cash flow suffered. Chandler learned that business isn't all about sales. It's about managing your cash flow. How to Attract Customers for a Successful Business One of Chandler's biggest strengths is his discipline. Planning weeks ahead helps him not to get stuck in the weeds. He also lists his top three goals for the next day. This helps him to wake up proactively. In terms of making his customers happy, Chandler mentions how they maintain high-quality standards. He knows how to attract customers by ensuring that they receive high-quality service. Higher-quality service translates to higher-quality customers, leading to better profits overall. Part of providing an excellent customer experience is readjusting expectations. Charging a Premium for Your Service Chandler shares that while his father is not the cheapest in the construction business, he's sure to do the best job. His father found that people referred him because he was the cheapest rather than the best. In response, he began to raise his prices. Chandler models his business similar to his father's. The worst jobs he ever had to do were ones where he discounted his price — discounting is not how to attract customers who fit your company. On Robert Cialdini's Influence Increasing sales is the heart of every business. According to Chandler, what people are most afraid to do is to pre-sell. Chandler liked Influence because it is the psychology of persuasion. It talks about how you sell and how you price. The author uses the story of a girl who ran a jewelry store to illustrate how people buy based on perceived value. Some owners think cutting their prices helps their business, but the reality is they are losing customers. Listen to the full episode if you want to know how this book changed Chandler's outlook on how to attract customers and scale business. Advice from Chandler's Dad “Never take advice from someone who you wouldn't gladly switch places with.” Don't take advice from a person who is successful in business but doesn't have a life. Obstacles Holding Back Chandler The first thing holding him back is his aversion to taking bigger risks and jumping on things without certainty. The second thing hindering him is analyzing his personal and business finances. The Rockefeller Habits Making business decisions with supreme confidence requires taking all your data into account. Rockefeller was highly proficient at analyzing his numbers, and they influenced every decision he made. Thanks to his skill at reading data, Rockefeller's businesses were still profitable even at the worst of times. Listen to the full episode to learn how Chandler used the Rockefeller habits in his business. Habits That Helped Chandler on His Path He shares how his morning routine has been "pretty rock solid." A routine helps him switch modes: once he starts working, he can focus on it. By the time he starts his day, he's done a lot more than most people. Chandler's Current Projects He excitedly shares his team's biggest launch with their self-publishing school. Chandler's business is running smoothly with an awesome program and coaches. He has never seen their success rate this high in their industry. The launch was a success primarily because Chandler has a lot of good affiliates. They also hired a copywriter to help their team. Tune in to find out more about how Chandler made the launch of his project successful! 2 Powerful Quotes “And a lot of times, you feel like you're doing good by cutting the prices, but you actually lose out on customers, because they just want quality.” “Never take advice from someone who you wouldn't gladly switch places with.” -Mary Kate Olsen About Chandler Chandler Bolt is the CEO of Self-Publishing School, one of the 5,000 fastest-growing companies in the US. I remember as children we were warned about the women who drove the unmarked white vans that circled around our neighborhood during those long hot summers, in particular creeping slowly down the boulevard which ran alongside the park, where if you positioned yourself at the right angle, I suppose in front of the swings, you might be able to see a flash of a child's private yellow underwear as they pumped their legs upward. | Copyright 2017 by Debbie Urbanski.
