I'm meeting my LDR sweetie for the first time this week, after more than a year of online dating, and excited doesn't begin to cover it. Humans are spread out all over the globe yet hyper connected, so many of us will experience a long distance romance at some point in our lives. LDRs are thrilling and intensely romantic, but can also leave you open to frustration and pain. A decent lingerie collection, unlimited Skype, solid communication skills, generous use of emojis and regular video sex really helps. The characters in these movies love while distant in either geography or the heart, and their screen journeys have all of the intimacy, affection —and miscommunication and heartache —that's part of loving someone across the miles.CW: miscarriage, sexhttps://www.confessionsofaclosetromantic.com"What are you wearing?!" There are many hilarious scenes in Going the Distance thanks to the timing of this fantastic ensemble cast, but there's plenty of genuine emotion too."I have a good life, but I never again met anyone who made me feel the way you do." What Happens Later is a poignant romance about missed connections and bad timing that surprises in quiet ways. David Duchovny and Meg Ryan are a perfect match for this style of overlapping conversational script, infusing it with gentle comedy, midlife weariness and emotional depth. The ending is ambiguous, which makes the story feel light and hopeful, and if you watch to the end, you see Meg Ryan's touching dedication, which brought a lump to this romcom fan's throat. When you look at stills from the shoot, you realize how beautifully lit and art directed What Happens Later is. It looks nothing like this dinky regional airport. How to survive a long distance relationship and make it work.Support the showIf you enjoyed this episode, please click share in your podcast app and tell your friends! They also recap the mitzvah of Alex Edelman's unabashed Jewish representation and give a shoutout to the new Meg Ryan and David Duchovny movie (but never actually name the movie, which is: What Happens Later.) Esther gets a little serious, talking about opportunities to raise awareness for the hostages from the Oct. 7 attacks in Israel. Andy Farnsworth joins KSL-TV to help audiences decipher #WhatToWatch for the weekend of November 3, 2023. Are you ready for another Elvis biopic? Well, "Priscilla is the latest one, and it's about the relationship between Elvis and Priscilla Presley as told through Sofia Coppola's direction. "The Marsh King's Daughter" is a tense, engaging story featuring Daisy Ridley and a dark menace in her character’s past. "What Happens Later" sees Meg Ryan return to the big screen for the first time in eight years in a rom-com with David Duchovny about two ex-lovers stuck in an airport together. "The Persian Version" is not for everyone, but it is a funny and poignant movie about an Iranian-American girl and her struggles with her two heritages. But the best thing Andy watched was probably "Radical," starring Eugenio Derbez, a true story about a teacher who got some of the worst-performing students in Mexico to love learning. Over on streaming services…Netflix’s "All the Light We Cannot See" is a streaming series based on the best-selling book about a blind girl who made illegal radio broadcasts in a German-occupied coastal French town near the end of World War II. "Sly," also on Netflix, is a streaming documentary that reminds us how amazing screenwriter Sylvester Stallone is and makes me wish I could watch movies with the guy. And Hulu has "Quiz Lady," an occasionally funny streaming movie about sisters (Awkwafina and Sandra Oh) who want to get on a Jeopardy-like show to earn money for their mom's gambling debts. Welcome to Multiverse News, Your source for Information about all your favorite fictional universes Marvel Studios has changed several release dates for upcoming Disney+ projects, though without super-specific dates. Agatha: Coven of Chaos, now apparently titled Agatha: Darkhold Diaries, is moving from winter of 2023 to fall of 2024. X-Men '97, the revival of the 90's animated show, originally slated for fall of 2023 has been pushed to early 2024. Echo, originally planned for a late November 2023 release will debut in January 2024 and plans to release all episodes at once still stand. Season 2 of What If… is expected to drop at the end of December of this year. Currently there is no word on Ironheart, Daredevil: Born Again, and Wonder Man as all were paused during production due to the strikes and have since been removed from the official calendar. On the heels of their schedule changes, Marvel released a 45-second spot for the upcoming second season of Loki on Disney+. The fast-paced trailer gives us a little more Victor Timely action, a lot of quick action shots, and a little bit of dialogue from Loki and Sylvie. Films are NOT wanting to compete with the powerhouse that is Taylor Swift. Both The Exorcist: Believer and Meg Ryan's comeback rom-com What Happens Later have changed release dates from October 13 to not conflict with Swift's The Eras Tour film. Swifties will find this unsurprising, given that 13 is the songbird's favorite number. But the Eras Tour film has had implications beyond the moving of this new take on the sacred horror film from its release date. Swift cut out the middleman and is releasing her concert tour documentary to theaters without a distributor, making a deal directly with AMC Theaters. This could foretell a new future for movie theaters, giving distributors and studios the idea that they could have their own theaters and release their properties directly to them. Supporters of Taylor Swift stayed true to their fanatic nature and broke AMC's single day advance revenue record with $26 million and is projected to open to $100 million. Everyone's favorite on-screen baddie actor, Giancarlo Esposito, sparked life to the DCU with rumors that he is joining James Gunn's revived franchise during an appearance at Comic Con Panama. While the tease of information is extremely sparse, fans of Esposito are surely glad to know such a well-known and renowned actor may appear in the universe being built by Gunn. Jamie Christopher, the first assistant director whose work spanned films such as Guardians of the Galaxy, Harry Potter, and Star Wars The Last Jedi has passed away at the age of 52. He served as the right hand man for directors like James Gunn, Rian Johnson, Sam Raimi, and David Yates across his career. With such a storied filmmaking journey, especially in the nerd-verse, this is a major loss to current and future films. Let's pour one out for this legendary first AD that touched so many things we love. The Great' has been canceled by Hulu. The show which starred Elle Fanning and Nicholas Holt in a satirical take on the story of Catherine the Great ran for three seasons. Hulu also canceled ‘How I Met Your Father,' the spin-off starring Hilary Duff. Sony's The Equalizer 3 took the number one spot at the Labor Day box office weekend, pulling in $42 million dollars domestically over its four-day opening, helping to push the yearly domestic box office over $4 billion total. In a new Gallup poll released last week, 72% of those surveyed said that they support striking television and film writers and 67% reported that they support the striking actors over the studios. On the note of the strikes, SAG-AFTRA granted permission to three AMC shows to resume production; Interviews with a Vampire and two Walking Dead spin offs, The Ones Who Live and Daryl Dixon. These series are being filmed and produced outside of the United States. AMC and its production arm, Stalwart Films, are not members of the AMPTP.
