Rebekah's Founders Story: I founded Coffee and Kindness after watching my brother, Steven, change nearly every life he came in contact with. Steven has Down Syndrome and on top of being the inspiration for this nonprofit, a dedicated employee, and an active member of his community, he is best known for the kindness he spreads. Are you in love yet? Coffee and Kindness plans to break the stigma around people with developmental disabilities through meaningful employment and community involvement. With over 82% of people with disabilities unemployed or underemployed, it's time we value people with differences and their gifts and talents we are missing out on! In addition to internships and employment opportunities on our coffee truck (planning to open in the summer 2023), we plan to offer job exploration and coaching, and job carving in local businesses. We believe everyone deserves to be seen, heard, and included, and we pursue that through our community outreach programs. Most importantly, we exist to support individuals with developmental disabilities as they pursue their most meaningful life! Together we can create a more inclusive and accessible workforce while most importantly helping spread the one thing the world needs most right now, KINDNESS...and coffee.www.coffeekindness.org ---As always, we are here to help. The Catalyst is a unique program for military Veterans that provides a holistic approach to the military transition that centers around the individual. One of the most important aspects of The Catalyst, and what separates us from the other military transition programs, is that you define your own success - we do not define it for you. Whether you want a high-paying career, to start your own non-profit, or to be the first in your family with a degree, we are here to help you achieve your goals.We combine civilian recruiting with in-class undergraduate and graduate education, mentoring, networking and on-the-job shadowing to assist in the military to civilian transition. During our seven-week program, we teach Veterans how to translate their experience from the military to communicate their value to corporate America. Through this process our candidates gain clarity in what they want to do and where their passions lie. This allows our graduates to retain, or regain, their confidence, find their direction, and most importantly move into their corporate career at a suitable level for their skillset. www.thecatalystprogram.org ---As always, we are here to help. Jason Johnson has a passion for Police K-9's and he has dedicated his life to working with them, as well as training and taking care of them. J.P. Tuthill is a career Special Forces Soldier with a passion for helping others. He is a graduate of Grand Canyon University, a family man, a sports coach, and a father of four happy, healthy, and successful kids. After a 20 year career in the U.S. Army, J.P. and his family decided it was time to turn the page and begin their next chapter. As a Special Forces engineer and Team Sergeant, he had a wealth of knowledge, skills, and experience that was not necessarily transferable to the civilian job market, and really had no idea what he wanted to do in his next chapter in life. However, this is common for most career military veterans. In April 2020, COVID shut down the island of Oahu where they lived just two days after they sold their house. They had no idea how fast the entire world would be turned upside down. In spite of the uncertainty in May 2020, he and his family decided to stay the course and leave Hawaii to move to back Scottsdale, AZ as they had planned. His wife would begin her new job, his step-daughter would begin her freshman year at Arizona State University, and their youngest had no idea how challenging her new life in AZ during COVID would be. With only three months remaining on active duty, J.P. committed all of his time and energy to find his next job, unfortunately, during COVID, it was an incredibly difficult task. He followed all of the guidance he'd received, used all of the tools and resources he had, exploited his network for opportunities only to end up with no job offers. In October 2020, during the height of his stress, anxiety, and uncertainty he found an opportunity to become an independent licensed health insurance advisor. Blinded by the thought that high income and working for yourself was the key to happiness, he began the journey to become a licensed health insurance agent. After six difficult months, J.P. realized he was working seven days a week in the wrong industry, for the wrong reasons. The job was unfulfilling and it was creating more stress on his family than before. In April 2021, J.P. began to explore new opportunities and came across an ideal role with a veteran non-profit, The Honor Foundation (THF). He learned that THF was laser-focused on helping Special Operations veterans succeed in finding purpose and fulfillment in their careers after the military, something he knew he was missing. After interviewing and winning the job he began his work at THF in June 2021 as the Director of Impact, Central. He quickly realized after attending phase one of THF's program what he was missing… His why. His purpose. It was then he realized that it was his mission to raise awareness and secure resources to ensure America's elite men and women have the tools, education, and network necessary to help them successfully transition to a career filled with purpose and passion after leaving the military. As a servant leader, J.P. has found his calling working with incredible donors, businesses, and foundations who have a passion for supporting America's elite veterans to ensure they have the best opportunity at being successful after years of honorable service to our Nation. https://www.linkedin.com/in/jeffrey-p-tuthill-jp/;

MISSION: Our mission is to have pure water for all. The foundation is providing water purifiers in local rural areas people especially to tribal and families with kids in Sirohi, a district of Rajasthan . We have donated more than 500 water purifiers to families in many villages.----My story started off from a busy world, a small village in the Rajasthan district of Sirohi. I travelled around the world, learning new insights and finishing my MBA in Entrepreneurship & Leadership, moving locations. As an individual motivated by curiosity, my studies have allowed me to explore and create new ideas. Still, I decided to devote my time to something that I am serious about with all my heart.I wanted to go back to my roots for inspiration in order to conquer this hurdle. With my first couple of weeks in Sirohi. Everything I felt wrong about the District's drinking water, and it struck me. To measure a deeper fact, water drunk by the people here, I gathered samples of the water and took them to water lab. The results were so vicious that it was so risky that it would kill some people who couldn't afford to clean it.This is where the story of The Foundation begins. There is an urgent need to have free access to clean drinking water and we believe it's our one of the human rights. I was fortunate to meet my friend Kasi Smith in Seattle, we discussed about quality of the water and its overall worst impacts on specially kids and women. Kasi was moved by such a deadly living conditions of the villagers. Kasi and I decided to create a Foundation in USA which would help people have access to clean drinking water as well as give people water for free in drought hit areas. We named our foundation RIGHT2WATER FOUNDATION. Its been created in state of Washington USA. Our website is www.right2waterfoundation.orgThe recent research shows 90% water in India is contaminated and not drinkable, people who live in rural India cannot afford to clean it. We have designed eco-friendly water purifiers made of Terracotta clay and diatomaceous earth filter in it. The clay makes the water alkaline and diatomaceous earth kills the bacteria/dust/impurities. The water purifier doesn't require electricity and it doesn't waste the water during filtration, it works on gravity.

Helping Discover Treatments and Cures for Devastating Childhood Diseases Since 1999.The Phoenix Women's Board of the Steele Children's Research Center, affectionately known as PANDA, supports discovery processes to improve treatments and cures for devastating childhood diseases. The strong and unique partnership between the PANDA members and the researchers and physicians at the Steele Children's Research Center has made it possible for us to embody our name, People Acting Now Discovering Answers.The PANDA story begins in the 1980's in Tucson, AZ. Louise Thomas, a neighbor and friend of PANDA Co-founder Robyn DeBell was a young mother with a 9 year old son Michael. Michael was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin lymphoma and passed away – despite state of the art medical treatments.From her grief, Louise vowed to start a facility that would help find the cause and cure for terrible childhood diseases, including the cancer that took her young son. The Steele Children's Research Center was built, and it recruited renowned physicians and staff from around the world. Because the Steele Children's Research Center was unknown outside of Tucson, its reach was limited and its funding stretched.In 1989, Robyn's family moved to Phoenix and shortly after moving Robyn met PANDA Co-founder and community leader, Penny Gunning. For the next two years Penny and Robyn talked at great lengths about how to bring the Steele Children's Research Center to Phoenix. “We needed a project that would involve several generations – grandparents, young daughters and women our age”, said Robyn. Then one day Penny said “I've got a terrific idea for a fundraiser that I've always wanted to try – a children's fashion show.”The first board was formed by calling on 35 women who were successful in their community, accomplished, confident, and able to chair an event without a notebook to guide them. Our mission and commitment remain the same today. To date, our children's fashion show and other activities have contributed over $22 million to the Steele Children's Research Center. We take great pride in knowing these funds have made possible lifesaving outcomes for Arizona children and their families, some our own.If Michael Thomas was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin lymphoma today, the Steele Children's Research Center could treat his disease, and quite possibly he would be alive and still with us today. This passion and determination is what drives our purpose and the PANDA story forward every day.https://www.azpanda.org/pandas-story/
Do You Need An Emcee or Auctioneer For Your Fundraising Event? The answer depends on quite a few pieces of criteria -- in short, sometimes yes, sometimes definitely NO. When is it a definite yes? When it's a large scale event. When is it a maybe? When your executive director is not a skilled public speaker, leaning into a yes. When is it a no? When it's a very small, intimate fundraising event. An emcee changes the mood of a small evening, this should definitely be handled by a Founder or ED. As always, we are here to help. WORKING TOGETHER. SAVING LIVES.Gen Justice works with local leaders and national partners to create state and federal policies impacting hundreds of thousands of abandoned and abused children.HOW IT HAPPENSTrue change is neither simple nor swift – that's why we're here.Too many American children suffer brutality and death as a result of weak laws or poor compliance with good laws. We believe children should be safely and quickly reunified with family when possible, foster care should be temporary, and adoption, when necessary, should proceed without delay. OUR MISSIONGen Justice works to mend the child protection system and bring a permanent end to innocent children enduring violence.Share Our MissionOUR STORYCEO Darcy Olsen has two decades of success in shaping laws including The Right To Try. But she considers the ten infants she fostered her most important work. After seeing the injustices facing abused kids, Olsen decided she needed to act. She founded Gen Justice in honor of these children including her foster “Baby A” who lived just 56 days.

The concept for The Outdoor Experience 4 All was conceived in late 2007. Although there are charitable organizations whose focus is offering hunts to terminally ill children, they tend to focus on hunts that require extensive travel and time commitments. We recognized that there were many families of children with life-threatening illnesses who could not take an extended hunt. Many of these families have other children, and long for an experience that could involve the entire household or even extended family. Due to the prohibitive cost and time involved with interstate travel, we realized that our focused needed to be on Arizona families.After many months of planning we were able to put our first hunt together in September of 2008. Not knowing how it would go we decided for our first hunt to call on a youth we already knew who would qualify for a big game tag transfer. We had hunted with Thomas Widenhofer during a 2007 elk hunt and we had a strong relationship with his family so he was a natural choice. Thomas agreed to be our first hunter and with many months of planning he arrived with the hopes of harvesting an Arizona antelope. Within the first hour of the hunt Thomas had harvested a nice antelope that measured 84 4/8. The sense of accomplishment felt by everyone involved lit a fire and The Outdoor Experience 4 All was off and running!From September of 2008 till the end of the year we were able to do one antelope hunt, four deer hunts, and five elk hunts, and took two children with autism fishing. After the fishing trip we realized that we should not limit this organization just to youths who have been diagnosed with a life threatening illness, but also offer an outdoor experience to those who have disabilities, non-life threatening illnesses, and the children of our fallen heroes. So in the fall of 2008 we became officially incorporated as a non-profit 501(c)3.The mission of the Outdoor Experience 4 All (OE4A) is to change lives one adventure at a time. Everyone who participates in an OE4A adventure, including volunteers, sponsors, parents, and siblings leaves camp with a new outlook on life!https://outdoorexperienceforall.org/about/
