What does chaos theory have to do with dogs? Join us as we sit down with the charismatic and knowledgeable Brian Fleming, a dog behavior consultant and licensed Family Dog Mediator. Brian takes us on a journey from stability to disorder, unraveling how this intriguing concept applies to complex aggression cases in dogs. He brilliantly illustrates the role of reductionism and its importance in understanding dog behavior. The Aggression in Dogs ConferenceThe Bitey End of the Dog Bonus EpisodesThe Aggression in Dogs Master Course and Expert Webinar Bundle --- LIMITED TIME SPECIAL OFFERABOUT BRIAN:"I joined the Army right out of high school and served 6 years as a Military Police Officer in the Rhode Island National Guard. After that, I worked as an assistant trainer before branching off and working with dogs on my own. I'm always interested in continuing education, and I have completed the Aggression in Dogs Master Course, and the LEGS Applied Ethology Family Dog Mediation course, both of which have transformed how I view complex behavior cases. I grew a bad taste for dog behavior solutions that homogenized all dogs into simple input-output conditioning robots who just need more obedience training, I used those techniques, and they barely scratched the surface of the real issues dogs are facing. Thankfully I found a community of likeminded professionals who also want to look at the whole picture. I am currently working on educational offerings that I hope will benefit the applied ethology community. I specialize in complex cases and have been sought after by conferences and podcasts to speak on chaos theory & complexity in dog behavior cases.I have an Australian Shepherd named Nova, who sometimes assists with training. Josh's BioJoined the Army as a Military Police Officer in December 2004 shortly after I traveled to Korea 2005. In 2006 came to Fort Lewis where I deployed to the Anbar Province of Iraq for 15 months living embedded in an Iraq Police Station with Marines. Upon returning it was time to get out of the Army. When I was attending college in 2011 I was offered a position to go to Afghanistan, so like any other Veteran I left and found myself in the Kunar Province of Afghanistan at FOB Joyce within no time. I supported 25th Infantry Division (235) and 4th Infantry Division (212). Since returning I used my GI Bill and obtained a degree in Human Resources Management. I went to work for the Veteran Benefits Administration for the external affairs director. Finding the need for services I assisted in starting a Veteran Social Media group that actively serves nearly five thousands Veterans daily. I have served as Puyallup VFW Post Senior Vice Commander. My daily job is ensuring the Soldiers who are being medically separated from the Army are connected with the best resources to succeed outside of the military. I am what is called a Transition Coordinator at the Soldier Recovery Unit. Nick Antonucci grew up in small Dearborn Heights, MI home with his siblings and mother. Having his entire life focused around sports growing up, he attended Catholic Central High School and was elected captain of the football team his freshmen year. He also was on varsity wrestling team and baseball team. While attending CC in 1997, Nick suffered a closed head injury resulting from a car accident with a garbage truck after leaving school to go to a doctor's appointment. After spending too much time recovering from the accident away from school, he was asked to leave. In late 1997, Nick attended Crestwood High School in Dearborn Heights, MI. He was only able to play his senior year of football with Crestwood, but was able to not only make varsity, All-City, All-Conference, and All- Division, he is the only football player to make it into the record books having only played one season. After graduating from Crestwood, Nick started college, but ultimately chose to leave college, and join the U.S Army as a Military Police Officer. After basic training and AIT at Ft. Leonard Wood, MO, Nick was stationed at Ft. Drum, NY. He re-enlisted for an additional year to be able to go on deployment in Sinai, Egypt supporting the Multi-National Force and Observers. While stationed in Egypt, his platoon was notified about the September 11th attacks on the World Trade Center. Shortly after, Nick was “Stop-Lossed” and was unable to ETS out of the service. On March 11th of 2003, Nick Antonucci and another fellow soldier were commissioned with the site security of a helicopter crash that ultimately killed 11 soldiers during a training exercise. With help from the Fire Department and the FBI, Nick Antonucci assisted in extracting all of the fallen soldiers from the wreckage. With still being stop-lossed, CPL. Antonucci volunteered to continue his service in Afghanistan where he rode out the stop-loss, and was ultimately sent home for an honorable discharge. Upon returning home, he moved to Orange County, California in October of 2005 to work in medical sales supplying prosthetic devices to amputees. In 2008, after finding a large mass in his left calf muscle, Nick was diagnosed with stage 3 Liposarcoma. He was given a 50% chance of surviving the next 2 years. After 7 months of chemotherapy, radiation, physical therapy, and removing his entire calf muscle, doctors told Nick that at a minimum, he would walk with assistance for the rest of his life. While playing in the Charlie Sanders Foundation annual golf outing at Knollwood Country Club, Nick was partnered with 4 time Stanley Cup Champion, Darren McCarty. They hit it off immediately. Nick and Darren quickly realized the similarities between veterans and professional athletes and quickly became friends, and then business partners. Nick is currently not only the business manager, agent, and business partner for Darren McCarty, he is also managing former UofM great and NFL Pro-Bowler Braylon Edwards, and current Olympic snowboarder Jake Vedder. In 2019, Nick and Darren created The Darren McCarty Charity Golf Outing that honors the memory of Dan O' Connor. Dan was a Purple Heart Recipient, Iraq War Vet, father, and husband, as well as a friend to all who knew him. Professional athlete Darren McCarty and combat veteran Nick Antonucci teamed to sponsor this event after connecting over similar life changing events many will never experience. Through their shared experiences, Darren and Nick realized a support network of family, friends, and concerned citizens was critical support to those who suffer loss from changing professions, whether professional sports or the military. Their collaboration resulted in Operation Valhalla, an organization that offers financial assistance to veterans and their families to assist them with difficult circumstances.

Jason Johnson has a passion for Police K-9's and he has dedicated his life to working with them, as well as training and taking care of them.
