For over 20 years, the quintet — Chris Motionless [vocals], Ricky Olson [guitar], Ryan Sitkowski [guitar], Vinny Mauro [drums], and Justin Morrow [bass] — have resided in their own shadowy corner of alternative music and culture. The group's uncanny alchemy of metal, hardcore, goth, industrial, and electronic has magnetically attracted an ardent audience, fueling a quiet rise out of the Rust Belt and into arenas as a headlining force of nature. Their D.I.Y. work ethic drives the evolution of an immersive world where stunning visuals match the scope of the sound. The collective come full circle on their seventh full-length offering Decades. For as much as it conjures their signature style, the LP sees them continue to confidently cut a path through uncharted territory, spreading a little darkness in their wake.”Hosted by: Luke = https://www.youtube.com/@rockednet Alex = https://www.youtube.com/@voiceofalex

The alt-rock band just announced their new album, The Wow! Signal, by launching a special tablet over 20 miles into the atmosphere, in partnership with Sent Into Space. While that screen was above the earth, Muse premiered the music video for their new single, “Be With You.” The Wow! Signal is out June 26 via Warner. The 10-song LP, which also includes the previously released single “Unravelling,” gets its name from a famous interstellar mystery that actually happened. In 1977, a powerful 72-second radio burst was detected originating from the Sagittarius constellation with a bandwidth and intensity that suggested a possible extraterrestrial source. After discovering it, the astronomer circled the now-famous sequence “6EQUJ5” and scribbled “Wow!” beside it. The rest, as they say, is scientific pop-culture history.” (Pitchfork)MUSE Releases New Song In Space and No One Cares? | The Podcast That Rocked

The great Nita Strauss joins me to talk about her forthcoming album "The Call Of The Void" and working with amazing guests stars including Lzzy Hale, Alissa White Gluz, David Draiman and so many more! She also talks about working with Alice Cooper and Demi Lovato, and her surprise about the backlash over touring with Demi.
This week we look to the stars for inspiration for our show theme. Oh yeah! We are talking about bands that have rock stars in them: Supergroups and Offshoots. A band consisting of well-known artists from other bands does not always equal great success. We dive into some of the more obscure supergroups and offshoots that didn't break with huge mainstream success or stay around very long. What is it we do here at InObscuria? Every show Kevin opens the crypt to exhume and dissect from his personal collection; an artist, album, or collection of tunes from the broad spectrum of rock, punk, and metal. This week we talk exclusively about Supergroups featuring famous solo artists and band members along with, Offshoots which are bands who contain the bulk of a previous incarnation of a famous band. Our hope is that we turn you on to something new.Songs this week include:Chequered Past – “A World Gone Wild” from Chequered Past (1984)California Breed – “Midnight Oil” from California Breed (2014)BackBeat Band – “Rock & Roll Music” from BackBeat – Original Motion Picture Soundtrack (1994)Brides Of Destruction – “Brace Yourself” from Brides Of Destruction (2004)Robin Trower - “Life On Earth” from BLT (1981)Down ‘N' Outz – “By Tonight” from My ReGeneration (2010)Metal Allegiance – “Wait Until Tomorrow” from Metal Allegiance (2015)Please subscribe everywhere that you listen to podcasts!Visit us: https://inobscuria.com/https://www.facebook.com/InObscuriahttps://twitter.com/inobscuriahttps://www.instagram.com/inobscuria/Buy cool stuff with our logo on it!: https://www.redbubble.com/people/InObscuria?asc=uIf you'd like to check out Kevin's band THE SWEAR, take a listen on all streaming services or pick up a digital copy of their latest release here: https://theswear.bandcamp.com/If you want to hear Robert and Kevin's band from the late 90s – early 00s BIG JACK PNEUMATIC, check it out here: https://bigjackpnuematic.bandcamp.com/Check out Robert's amazing fire sculptures and metal workings here: http://flamewerx.com/
Joshua and Chris start the show with somber news of Bob Nalbandian passing and share some great stories of the legend. Mark Tremonti speaks on being approached by Rex Brown to throw his name in the hat for the Pantera gig. Richie Faulkner gives his thoughts on Zakk being the guy for the gig. Devin Townsend says Nickleback's Chad Kroeger is more metal than him. System Of A Down drummer, John Dolmayan, has some words for Serg and the rest of the band. Arch Enemy's Alissa White-Gluz discusses her relationship with Doyle and Chris fights back his tears.

This week, we continue this conversation with Disney queen turned vocal beast and Arch Enemy frontwoman, Alissa White-Gluz. We take a deep dive into her vocal technique, specifically differentiating how she approaches harsh and clean vocals. We talk about veganism, why she thinks about her vocals like painting, and how she thinks about her voice in vivid textures and colors. It's amazing how those scary and beautiful sounds are produced by one of the greatest animal lovers on the planet. Alissa also walks us through how she chooses her costumes and gear. Find out why heels aren't for every singer, and why YOU should purchase the new Arch Enemy album which releases on August 12. Tune in because this episode features some of the best advice I've ever heard on how to select a good microphone! In this episode, you will hear: How she conceptualized the demon headdress How heels can negatively impact singing The parallels between painting and phonation How to create harsh vocals without engaging your true vocal cords The two throat tubes: larynx vs. esophagus Alissa's video game character Queen Beast Subscribe and Review Have you subscribed to our podcast? Imagine the powerful and practically magical presence of Elsa combined with the animal-loving nature of Snow White. That's Alissa White-Glutz, the lead vocalist of the death metal band Arch Enemy. Known for harsh, distorted, aggressive, and intense tones, Alissa takes pride in a healthy lifestyle, practicing veganism, and nurturing positivity all around. Alissa has a scary video game character called “Queen Beast” modeled after her. She also is an adept clean vocal singer, talented not only at creating beautiful lyrics and melodies but also adept at harmonizing and producing her own music. Her music video outfits are some of the most extremely creative I've seen – evoking power, darkness, and aggression altogether in flashy sophistication. It's amazing the influence that Patreon and Patrons can have on an artist. Patrons are the reason I initially heard Alissa's music and that eventually led to this interview. In this episode, you will hear: Alissa's career background Metal music considered as Western culture How intergenerational trauma is rooted in epigenetics The best way to try out microphones How preconceived notions can affect a person's opinions Subscribe and Review Have you subscribed to our podcast? Alissa White-Gluz of Arch Enemy & I have a conversation about how she coped with 2020/2021, the soundtrack of her youth, her 1st shows, being straight edge, "Deceivers", more clean vocals, being from Montreal, vegan activism, the power of Patreon, her solo record & the silver lining of her pandemic. Throughout this conversation, Alissa enjoyed a glass of water, while I drank Satanic Tea Co. x Cryptopsy 's "Nun So Vile" the Lavender Black Tea with Hops. Vicky Psarakis said she had prepared her whole life for what proved a career opportunity. Vicky has made three albums with The Agonist and a new EP, titled "Days Before the World Wept," since replacing original vocalist Alissa White-Gluz. She has more than proven herself with a broad dynamic range and five distinct voices in her sonic pallet—a power clean, a falsetto, growls at two octave levels and a scream. On this episode, Vicky talks about her evolution as a vocalist and songwriter, her creative process within The Agonist and branching out to a second band called Sicksense.
Kitty and Jason were super stoked to land “The Queen Beast of Scream” Alissa White-Gluz, lead singer of Arch Enemy. Listen to Alissa talk about how she became a member of a band she was a fan of, how she sponsors animals, and how she stays fit while touring up to 250 shows per year.
Together with Alissa White-Gluz Official we talk about how we see our role on this world when it comes to the well-being of the Earth. We touch upon many topics: plastic use, up-cycling, recycling, raspberries (not strawberries), diet and much more! It was absolutely lovely catching up with Alissa again! Alissa is the singer of Arch Enemy and has been vegan for over twenty years already.
