When did you first start talking about sex? Reading Cosmo magazine? Catching your first real R-rated movie? Or...when you listened awkwardly to the true, "birds and the bees" conversation. Never, in any of those chats, did they share how intimacy and sex changes as you age and especially as you go through chronic illness and cancer. This week's guest on "Happiness through Hardship" - The Podcast is a Melbourne, Australia based clinician whose expertise focuses on sex and intimacy. Tess Devèze, founder of ConnectAble Therapies and author of "A Better Normal" is an occupational therapist and sexologist. This episode is full of strategies and suggestions for couples wanting more and curious how to do it. Whether you're going through cancer, menopause or just too tired to prioritize intimacy, Tess has tons of ideas for you. In addition for serving as an expert to clients and inspiring people around the world, Tess has been battling stage three breast cancer for the past three years and has realized the troubles it can bring when it comes to intimacy, which is why “ConnectAble Therapies'' was born. Tess's online intimacy and cancer support group has grown to over thousands of people where couples can learn about their feelings of desire, partner dynamics, and communication. So, I am beyond thrilled to have Tess educate us and provide resources on how we can find more intimacy even when our body is going through tons of changes.

Today on our podcast we talk about the Better Normal after California has opened back up! What does regathering look like? Is it biblical?
My guest on the Peace & Possibilities Podcast this week is more interested in building your health and wellness as opposed to putting a band aid on it. We all know that there are quick fixes to our problems. When we take this approach, we may solve the problem, albeit temporarily. But it doesn't have to be that way. We can think about a different phase or season of our life as not just a new normal, but a better normal. Doesn't that sound more appealing? What if 2020 happened so that we could all have a BETTER normal? Wouldn't it be nice to build your health instead of fix your health? Wouldn't it feel better to concentrate on all the good things happening as opposed to what's not working? Wouldn't it feel better to ask for guidance on what to do and where to go, and what your pain/problem is trying to teach you? Then after asking about it, you can begin to solve it from a curiosity mind-set as opposed to a problem that is making your life difficult. Moyra Gorski wants us to consider that there's magic in our mess. There's always a lesson. We don't have to have it all figured out. And luckily, she reminds us "as we grow, we find more gifts." I couldn't agree more. More about Moyra: Moyra Gorski is a podcaster, wellness expert and business mentor. As a retired RN and wellness advocate, She supports women in mind, body and spirit help them find their voice, take care of themselves and know that their circumstances do not dictate who they are or can be. During 21 years time, she built a wellness business that generates over $1.5 million per year, and among the products she represents, many are used by Olympic athletes, on Jacque Cousteau missions, the White House. Moyra continues sharing a message of hope and health today through her podcast “Juggling The Chaos of Recovery.” Both mother and daughter have fought an eating disorders and while daughter is still on her recovery journey, mom is standing on the other side with victory. Her message is that you can overcome any challenges life throws your way with a smile, and a little juggling!” When she's not speaking, podcasting, writing, or coaching, she loves practicing yoga, volunteering at local animal shelters, baking and cooking and ballroom dancing. Are companies simply going back to the way things were – or are they striving for a better future? AWA's Senior Associate Lisa Whited reflects on how many offices were before the pandemic struck - full of noise, interruptions and inadequate spaces for concentration and collaboration. We hear from two guests at a recent AWA Webinar – Kerry Smith from British Heart Foundation and Robin Shapiro of TBWA/WorldHealth. Both organisations are adapting to new opportunities and are engaging with their people to jointly design the future of work.Passionate about the power of conversation, Lisa explains why they can bring about so much positive change. She also talks about the need to support managers to manage their people in a different way (particularly if they are working virtually or in a hybrid way), to provide the right conditions for them to flourish. Also, Partha Sarma shares what he's seeing in India as companies adapt to employee feedback. This represents quite a change in approach and culture for India. Many people moved to their home towns during the pandemic and some don't want to return to the cities. Recognizing that a world of opportunity is available through virtual working, they are even prepared to quit if they don't get what they want. Gary and Dr. Mary Manz Simon talk about a better normal as we continue to recover from this past year of isolation.
(Featuring John Falcicchio, Deputy Mayor for Planning and Economic Development, Washington, DC) As cities in the US adapt to a new normal, city leaders, planners, developers, and investors have a new challenge: to define the "new normal" of the built environment. And though it stands unique among American cities, Washington, DC could have answers for our collective urban futures. https://www.afire.org/podcast/betternormal/ On this episode of the AFIRE Podcast, John Falcicchio, Deputy Mayor for Planning and Economic Development for Washington, DC, talks about how the district is not only working to embrace a new normal, but also implementing innovative solutions as a means to create a better normal. Racial equity and affordable housing are top-of-mind, alongside promoting and preserving density in the city's business districts and workplaces, including reimagined retail experiences and use of public space. What are the obstacles that DC is facing in particular, and what are lessons other cities can learn from DC's ideas and experiments? According to Falcicchio, collaboration between all city stakeholders—including residents, business and restaurant owners, building managers and owners, investors—is the key to the future of US cities.

In this episode we interview ACT Disability Minister Emma Davidson. Our conversation covers a range of issues including the possible changes to the NDIS system that have been flagged, the relationship between state, territory and federal governments in relation to these possible changes, how the ACT Greens aim of "building a better normal" relates to people with disability and the complex challenges they negotiate, and the changes that are occurring in relation to the roll-out of the Covid-19 vaccines. As a legal pro deciding what technology to buy, it's easy to be intimidated by that presenter. You know the one. She's the lawyer using all the shiny new tech tools to generate client leads and build business. But Clio CEO Jack Newton and Fastcase CEO Ed Walters tell host Conrad Saam that lawyers don't need to be tech whizzes to lead change. Taking incremental steps by listening to clients and understanding how to serve them better can often answer what technology to try first. Those small steps eventually lead to vast improvements in client service and business growth. The three share practical tips, including getting a handle on Net Promoter Scores. This episode follows the ABA Techshow program “Innovating Toward a Better Normal.” Ed Walters is the CEO of Fastcase and teaches the law of autonomous vehicles at Cornell and Georgetown. Jack Newton is the CEO of Clio and author of “The Client-Centered Law Firm.” Special thanks to Nota for sponsoring this episode.

The life of Joseph is a story of true resilience. His example encourages us to hold on to hope and to strengthen our faith in God through difficult times. But how do we be resilient today? How do we endure and keep the faith in our own faith walk? Let's talk about that!
Life Interrupted. Part 2 – A Better Normal. If there's one thing that's uniting the world together right now it is simply that all of our lives in some way have been interrupted. Our plans have changed, our trips have canceled, and the normal rhythms of life have been altered. Or maybe this season has brought to you far more serious interruptions than that. So how are you dealing with your life's interruptions? Or rather, what are you doing with your life's interruptions? In this season of uncertainty and interruption, we are reaching back to a place of normalcy. We have all said this at some point in the last few weeks, “I can't wait for things to be normal again.” There's a part of us that just wants to get back to what is familiar and comfortable. But what if instead of reaching back at an old normal, God is wanting us to reach forward to a new one? What if this whole season is to lead us to a place that is better than normal? Join us as we unpack what better than normal can look like and how we get there.

Yuk dengerin obrolan eksklusif kita di sini!
It was my pleasure to speak with Jane Wilson, recent graduate of the North Carolina School of Science and Mathematics - go Unicorns - and a part of my Circle of Mercy circle. We talked about how the COVID-19 pandemic impacted her school, family, and social life. And should you want to know what her favorite Thai dish is, and why wouldn't you, she shares that as well. Thanks Jennifer for interrupting us right in the middle of a very deep discussion on the multi-layered controversies surrounding Episodes VII, VIII, and IX of the Star Wars saga to take her Thai order. She was a great conversationalist and a gracious guest. I forgot to hit record on the first part of our conversation so I made her repeat stuff. This might have thrown others off their game, but not Jane.
Today's episode is a conversation with Chandra, a recent graduate from South Mountain Community College. After a lot of hard work, Chandra was gearing up for a well-deserved commencement celebration. But when the graduation ceremony was cancelled in Spring 2020, Chandra was disappointed. During the quarantine, however, Chandra is maintaining high spirits by focusing on her faith. She's a mom of three kids, two who are learning online, just like her. She's found a lot of joy in spending time with her children, and deepening her relationship with God. Show notes: Chandra quoted scripture: Psalm 46:1: God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.Chandra's essay, "My Children Will See Me Walk" was published at southphoenixoralhistory.com on June 16, 2020. Chandra "walked" in our virtual graduation episode on June 13th, 2020! Way to go, Chandra! She's the first in her family to graduate with an A.A. Our world is changing. Although this podcast never intended to deal with current events, it's very difficult to ignore them. It's been some time now that the expression of a "new normal" has been used to describe what life will be like "after" COVID and now combined with #BlackLivesMatter. Here's my take on why it doesn't make any sense, and never did. www.wendicooper.com Now you can listen in your news feed - "Alexa play Speaking of Age Daily with Wendi".

Dave Hollis has a great quote: “In the rush to return to normal, use this time to consider which parts of normal are worth rushing back to.” With everything that's going on right now, people are just waiting for things to go back to normal. But if you could change one thing about “normal,” what would it be? Resources: Mastermind: workhardplayhardpodcast.com/mastermind Connect with us on Instagram: @kimmurgatroyd | @robmurgatroyd
Alanna Shaikh is a global health systems expert. She delivered a TEDx talk barely 2 weeks ago which has been viewed almost seven million times already across its TED & YouTube sites. On the latter it is titled ‘Coronavirus is our future'. But as much as outlining why that is so, a legacy of the human-induced planetary degradation that has brought COVID-19 upon us, it's about how we can create a different future. How can we learn from the wake-up call of this outbreak, to create a more responsive and universal global health system? A system where, as Alanna puts it, equity is our social immune system. Bill Gates has written that such a health system will cost billions, and that'd be a bargain. The same can be said for the broader systems restoration project, where ecosystem restoration is key, and related systems of food, agriculture, economics, education and media all play vital roles. The coronavirus, and the future ones we're currently headed for, are notably symptomatic of the same patterns underlying biodiversity loss, economic volatility and climate disruption. “Coronavirus is our climate crisis at high speed”, Alanna says. So we've got a moment here, while doing our belated but inspired best to withstand our current crisis, where we can get at the roots of it all, and re-orient our societies towards a new and better normal.
