In 2012, he joined a sports publisher and started handling advertising sales for them globally. They went from 10 million downloads to 200 million downloads in a couple of years. They were the largest sports publisher in the mobile space. “We started taking that model to other countries. So we took it to Canada, South Africa, UK, Australia. Cricket as a game has transformed to target the younger audience, so that's where the advertisers need to spend their money. The game is getting onto platforms, which were not there earlier. For example, mobile. Let's say they're commuting to work in New York…. or San Francisco, when a big cricket match is going on in India. They cannot watch the game in front of their television sets at home. So their platform of choice became mobile. They're watching the games through our app.” Through helping his daughter with a runathon fundraiser, marketing genius Kountinya Sai realized that teens need motivation to build habits like exercising and doing the next right thing. So he started building his product, a gamified rewards wallet for teens to practice good habits. Find out more by listening to the episode. Dr. Bembey performs LANAP, laser assisted gum surgery. “It's minimally invasive. That means we are not using the traditional blades to cut away your gums. Laser is just light and does minimal cutting. It's also no sutures or stitches that I have to put in because I'm not doing a traditional surgery.” She also uses what she calls platelet-rich fibrin procedure, which uses the patient's own blood plasma. “Plasma has concentrated growth factors, which helps you heal faster and better. If there's a one-day-old wound and we are putting a plasma dressing on top of it, it behaves like a one-week-old wound.” Her motto is “Treat only one patient at one time and we always do what is right for the patient at that time.” Dr. Kanika Bembey says it only takes five minutes to take care of your oral health if you do proper steps. Well, three-time Olympic gold medalist, Kaillie Humphries is here on the Carlsbad People, Purpose, and Impact Podcast to share her story! You don't want to miss what she says about courage, passion, and resilience. Learn more about the Carlsbad Chamber. On this episode of the Carlsbad People, Purpose, and Impact Podcast, Bret Schanzenbach speaks with three-time Olympic gold medalist and five-time world champion bobsledder Kaillie Humphries. Originally from Canada, Kaillie fell in love with an American, which led her to move to Carlsbad and become an American citizen. She is not only a trailblazer in women's sports because she led the charge to prove that women could compete in the monobob, which resulted in its approval and was first held in the 2022 Olympics, she also holds Olympic gold medals for two countries: Canada and the United States of America. Kaillie's story is one of resilience, courage, and passion. When the head coach of the Olympic Canadian bobsled team was discriminatory and physically and mentally harassed her, Kaillie spoke up. In their conversation, Bret and Kaillie talk about her journey into bobsledding, how she stood up for herself and other women, the ways she is focused on breaking barriers for women in sports, the training regimen for an Olympic athlete, and the 2024 Olympics. Learn more about the Carlsbad Chamber. On this episode of the Carlsbad People, Purpose, and Impact Podcast, Bret Schanzenbach is joined by 2018 World Record holder and “the fastest cyclist on earth” Denise Mueller. When her athletic father suffered from knee issues, he pivoted from running to cycling. Eventually, her father signed them both up for the Bike for Breath Fundraiser for the 96.5-mile distance. Bret Schanzenbach, CEO, and President of the Carlsbad Chamber grew up in California. Which he calls the "biggest melting pot in America".  He had a Samoan buddy that lived across the street that he walked to school with daily and played with since they were neighbors.  Bret never considered himself with "white privilege", until he heard about a mom and grandmothers having to talk black sons about how to behave if they were pulled over by white police. Bret said the issues that the blacks have been dealing with are a lot like the issues that those with hearing impairments are dealing with. Until one walks in another's shoes, one does not know what it's like and that businesses need to be educated about what's needed for those with hearing loss. The hearing-impaired community is worth  $1.7 trillion dollars that has the option to go elsewhere if businesses do not provide a communicator or better known as a transparent mask. On today’s episode, Amy Mewborn discusses how she jumpstarted her career and now designs strategies for others to do the same. Amy is a serial entrepreneur, CEO, author, and operations and strategy expert. She teaches women business owners how to use technology and systems to leverage their business growth and maximize profits through automation. In this episode, we discuss, -Amy’s health journey and how she escaped the 9-5 -Building an information highway through automation technology -What to do if your launch falls flat in the online space -Mindset challenges women need to address to kick start their business -And so much more!   Amy discusses the importance of taking action when branching out into new business opportunities. In Amy’s experience, she states, “You have to have the courage to take a risk, because if you don't, one day you will wake up and your entire life will go by and you've been going through the motions but never really got to where you want to be. Listen to your intuition, no one knows what is better for you than you do yourself and do as much research and be as well prepared as you possibly can.”   Amy describes the reciprocal relationship between passive income streams and personal independence as a result of automation.   She states, “The more time that you can free up from the things that you are doing, the more revenue streams you can potentially create, the more income you can have, the more clients you can see, and the more time you can have off and have fun…That’s when our creative energy starts to flow.“   Amy embraces taking risks because failure can offer an equally beneficial learning experience. From her experience, she states, “Had I given up after falling flat on my face the first time, I would have just thought I would never be able to make it… it's just about going back and looking at what worked and what didn't work and how you're going to adjust going forward.”   For women who are hesitant to pursue a new venture, Amy reassures us that, “As women, we always wonder if we are good enough—is what I have to offer really any different or more valuable or anything better than what is already out in the market place? We don't think about how we do business with people we know, we like, and we trust… We constantly have to break through that mindset that we are not enough because there is probably someone out there who is just like us and is waiting for us to share our gifts and secrets with the world.“   For more information about Amy:   Amy Mewborn is a serial entrepreneur, CEO, author, and operations and strategy expert.
