I'm baaaaaackkkk (with two new best friends) ... You heard that right, The Photographer's Podcast is BACK! But before we get into it, I want to thank you for being here, for allowing me this season of rest as I adjust to this new mom life. I'd be lying if I said I was actually adjusted by now. This is a process that's gonna take time, and I'm enjoying the freedom and flexibility I have as a photographer to take it all in without having to rush back into work. So, thank you. Being a photographer who's in control of their own schedule, flexibility and freedom, is truly a gift. And I don't take that lightly. I wanted to properly kick things off by welcoming TPP alumni Claudia Segui to the podcast! Claudia is an incredible wedding photographer originally from Cuba who's currently living in South Florida. She is a mom of two, a wife, an inspiring artist and a hilarious, welcoming and talented photographer. Claudia never imagined she would become a photographer. She spent most days in the courtroom working as a stenographer. But when she found herself going through a tough time, feeling stressed out about her day job, her husband suggested photography as a release. After receiving a camera as a christmas gift, she was hooked, until she tried to use it… “I thought the camera was broken, I was like… it has to be, I can't be that bad.” Then Claudia joined The Photographer's Path… and everything changed. Today, she's sharing exactly how much that Christmas gift changed her life. Claudia is a perfect example of what happens when you follow your inspiration. In this episode, she talks about: ➡️ How she booked her first wedding of 2024 in Hawaii ➡️ What she does to stand out as a photographer ➡️ How she breaks the ice with new clients to ensure a smooth wedding day ➡️ What she did to find her niche and style ➡️ Advice for aspiring photographers, and so much more... A.W. Erwin is a syndicated "cowboy cartoonist" with a quick wit and funny personality. He has been drawing cartoons of cowboys and cowgirls in funny situations for decades now, and this is his form of "off-farm income". Making his home in north central Texas, he is immersed in the cowboy lifestyle knowing people far and wide who are preserving the old ways and arts of cowboying. To keep his commute as a short walk from his house to his studio, A.W. has developed a line of products he sells as well as services. He has mastered "re-purposing". A drawing he made yesterday might become a coffee mug tomorrow and a calendar next year. A.W. made his first appearance on the Off-Farm Income Podcast in 2015, and he is back today with more inspiration and advice for artists who don't know how to turn their passion into a full-time business.

This week in the guest chair we have Shirley Ansley. In 2015, Shirley went on a journey to start a business and tried to DIY her website only to find out that making your own website is kind of hard. She ran her business on the side while still working a full time job for almost two years until finally taking the leap. She left her 9 to 5 while three months pregnant with her second child a few months before the pandemic hit. Today, she is a successful (and profitable) freelance website designer who's had the privilege of working with award winning podcasts, POC women-led businesses, national organizations and more.
