In this weeks episode with Liz Parrish the CEO and founder of Bio Viva Sciences we do a deep dive into the exciting and promising world of Gene Therapies and in particular Gene Therapies aimed at curing Ageing as a disease. Liz is a visionary at the cutting edge of a brave new world, a world where ageing may not longer exist, she is pioneer who courageously tested the gene therapies out on herself first at the first human to receive some of them way back in 2015 already. What you will learn in this episode: The motivation behind Liz's mission an why the disease of her child led her to where she is today The state of the regulatory situation in regards to gene therapies and what Liz hopes to change and achieve and how you might be able to get involved and help Why going after ageing is THE most important thing we can do - That ageing is at the base of most of the big killers from alzheimers to cancers and why going after ageing instead of single diseases is a better approach What is AAV delivery process and how are gene therapies delivered and what is is next in this space What gene therapies are already approved by the Regulatory bodies and what is next Why medical tourism is the only way to get these therapies currently and how Bio Viva can use this data collected on humans to further her clinical research and the case for change in the regulatory system Why we are 20 to 30 years behind in the clinics and hospital when compared to the technologies actually available today. The avalanche that is about to hit the world in regards to the demographics of the ageing population and why we need change now How current medical advances have bought us extended lifespan but not necessarily healthspan and how we can change that. We discuss the therapies targeting Follistatin, Klotho, Telomere Attrition and others For more information visit https://bioviva-science.com/ For those interested in getting Gene Therapy visit: https://www.integrated-health-systems.com/ If you want to join the petition to support regulatory changes in the gene therapy space please go to: Every day thousands of patients die from aging-associated non-communicable diseases (AA-NCDs). Liz Parrish is one of the bravest and most controversial figures in the exploding field of Longevity. She is not a scientist but may have more impact on geroscience than those who are. Liz is called ”Patient Zero” because she has used herself as a guinea pig for gene therapy to reverse aging and live better with her Type 1 Diabetes. The unapproved FDA procedure required Parrish to go to Colombia and other countries for treatment. The Result… look at her picture. Her biological age dropped five years every year after her treatments, done in 2015 and in 2020. She is biologically 25, chronologically in her forties, and started with a 66-year-old biomarker profile when suffering from Type I diabetes. She is an innovator, and an investor and promotor of Gene therapy for Longevity. Her company, BioViva, asserts that governments, including the US, must look at gene therapies to have a shot at healthy Longevity. Some say she is a profit of the future, and some that she is exposing people to undo risk. But Liz is now helping those interested in gene therapy by taking them off-shore for medical tourism to get procedures unavailable in many first-world nations, including the US. How do you feel about efforts for extreme Longevity? Get the picture on our Generation Bold Podcast: The Fountain of Truth as I interview Liz, a canny and sophisticated ambassador for transhumanism and radical Longevity.

Rapamycin is arguably the most promising longevity drug currently available. And that is why we spend a lot of time on it on this podcast. Today I'm going to share a 20 minute presentation on the subject that I gave at the recent RAADfest conference last month. I've also included the short panel discussion after that where we take questions from the audience. In that I am joined by Liz Parrish, Drs. Greg Fahey, Bill Andrews and Ian White. I do apologize to our audio listeners who do not see the graphics on the YouTube video version, but hopefully, there will be sufficient value in the audio track itself to justify its inclusion on the podcast. Either way, please let us know so we can decide about future presentations.LINKS:RAADFestBioVivaIntervene ImmnuneSierra SciencesThe American College of Regenerative MedicineTIMESTAMPS:01:03 - Introduction to the speaker03:18 - Rapamycin05:44 - TOR molecule10:46 - Phenotypes of aging12:12 - Periodontal disease15:14 - Cardiovascular disease16:55 - Alzheimer's disease23:23 - Gene therapy25:57 - COVID vaccine29:07 - The Space Aging Research Institute38:22 - Regenerative medicine----------#rapamycin #longevity #aging # treatment #periodontaldisease #phenotypes #genetherapy #regenerativemedicine#robertlufkinmd #drlufkin #robertlufkin #healthlongevitysecrets*** CONNECT WITH ROBERT LUFKIN MD ON SOCIAL MEDIA ***Web: https://robertlufkinmd.com/Twitter: https://twitter.com/robertlufkinmdYoutube: https://www.youtube.com/RobertLufkinMD*** SPONSORSHIPS & BRANDS ***We do work with sponsors and brands. Episode 15: Liz Parrish is the CEO of BioViva, a company whose goal is to genetically modify humans so that the body continuously stays in a state of homeostasis, as well as a graduate from Buckinghamshire University for her International MBA. In this episode, she provides insight on the work BIoViva is doing, various gene therapies, her acts as a pioneer, statins, telomerase, the benefits and deficits of medical tourism, and present and future technologies that can help extend life.
According to this episode's guest: Liz Parrish, people should be demanding access to the latest gene therapy treatments. According to Liz, effective gene therapy that treats and heals a plethora of diseases could be in place today if not for the human race's mistakes in prioritizing our funds. Trillions of dollars have been invested in war machines, for example, when we could have used that money to advance humanity into a healthier, more productive, and enjoyable way of life. As you can see, Liz thinks big - but she's not only a dreamer - Liz is a doer. As the Founder and CEO of BioViva, Liz devotes her life to pursuing scientific advancements that extend healthy lifespans in humans using cell technologies. Liz will tell you that aging is a disease caused by cell damage over time. Her company uses BioInformatics to gain knowledge through collecting, storing, and analyzing data from clinical studies. Liz advocates for overhauling the U.S. medical system so that drugs proven successful in animal trials can be offered more rapidly to human patients. Our aging population needs urgent healthcare. As a passionate science evangelist, Liz is a popular speaking guest. She serves as a motivational speaker in the life sciences field and is a strong proponent of advancing regenerative medicine modalities. She enjoys educating laypeople about the promising field of gene therapy and is actively involved in international educational media outreach. Tune in and meet this humanitarian, entrepreneur, innovator, podcaster, and a leading voice for genetic cures. In this podcast, we cover: Liz's story on how she ended up in the bioinformatics and gene therapy business How our current healthcare system slows down anti-aging solutions What gene therapy is and how it can benefit you Why gene therapy isn't affordable or available for most people today How BioViva is giving people at all income levels access to gene therapy How risk aversion is killing us The age Liz thinks she will reach How the media harms scientific progress And more “I went looking for cures for kids and ended up at a conference.” Two seminal moments occurred in Liz's life back in 2011 and 2013. Only ten years ago, Liz was a layperson, not working in the longevity and gene therapy field. Her destiny began to change when she volunteered in 2011 for a stem cell project that aimed to educate the world on the regenerative capacity of stem cells. This sparked an obsession with stem cells - what makes them different? Liz began researching and discovered their differences, which she shares. Then, in 2013, her son was diagnosed with type one diabetes. One day, while in the hospital with her son, Liz asked the doctors about the fabulous research she had been studying on stem cells. Was any of this available for her son? NO. The hospital bluntly told her that stem cell therapy was “experimental medicine.” They made it sound dirty. The doctors even had the nerve to tell her, “Your son has a treatable disease. Kids dying here. Maybe you should consider yourself lucky?” This rude attack did NOT sit well with Liz. She pondered, “Why does this technology not translate to humans?” So, Liz searched for pediatric cures and ended up at a conference that introduced her to the promising future of gene therapy. The rest, as they say, is history. Liz practices what she preaches Back in 2015, when she launched BioViva, Liz proved she doesn't just talk the talk. She walks the walk. How? By becoming “patient zero” in her own experiment. She willingly injected herself with two gene therapies. Since then, her results look promising. She tells Wade, “I took two gene therapies, and my biomarkers are great. We have a biostatistician working on those now, and we'll be releasing those with a short synopsis.” “My telomeres slowly keep getting longer. My triglyceride levels are low. My blood glucose levels are low - this is something that we see in medical tourism as well...Telomeres are not a perfect aging clock, but they are an indicator of a disease state. Having a better length on your telomere is a good thing. So that should mean better overall health.” Keep your eye on Liz - she's a walking gene therapy experiment, as well as a bold individual willing to offer her body to the furthering of scientific advancement. Science geeks will enjoy this episode with Liz Parrish. As an entrepreneur, she fosters scientific advancement in gene therapy by employing scientists, raising funds for research, and using her leadership and marketing skills to spread the word on the fascinating works happening inside the labs at BioViva. In this episode of Bulletproof Radio, my guest is known as "the woman who wants to genetically engineer you," and a leading voice for genetic cures.Liz Parrish founded and serves as CEO of BioViva Sciences USA Inc., a bioinformatics company actively working to extend healthy lifespans using gene therapy. It’s looking specifically at how gene therapy works in humans and how regenerative genes work in human bodies. Its partner company, Integrative Health Systems, helps people get access to these technologies today.A strong champion of progress and education for the advancement of gene therapy, Liz firmly supports our right and our ability to hack our own DNA.And she definitely walks her talk: In 2015 she became the first person in the world to take dual gene therapies to treat aging. One of the ways was to use adeno-associated virus, called AAV. “AAV doesn't essentially do what old gene therapy does,” she explains. “So, you don't get sick when you take it, because if you get sick then you're going to not uptake the genes. … And viruses are still the best gene delivery method there is. They get genes into the nucleus.”“Remember, these viruses are modifying you every year,” Liz says. “You get viruses and influenzas and things like that and they all do their little dance. We're just making them do a dance that only up-regulates therapeutic genes.”From increased muscle mass to mitochondria, and from clinical trials to affordability, our conversation about gene therapy takes you into new territory. Listen on to learn more about Liz’s personal experience, her longevity work, and how you can shape your own genes.Enjoy the show! And get more resources at Dave.Asprey/podcasts.

There other ingredients include foods like seed butters, hemp, chocolate, and dates that are all organic too. The bars are delicious, better than so many other protein/meal replacement bars I’ve had and have absolutely none of that chalky taste you usually get in those bars. I actually really love these things. And yes, I know what you’re thinking… “Justin, seriously, crickets dude? What’s the deal with that?” And trust me, I thought the same thing at first, but once I tried my first bar I was absolutely amazed at how good these things really were and after that it became completely normal for me to put down a few of these bars throughout the day (and some of their delicious cricket-packed crackers for that matter too). Crickstart’s bars have a very balanced macronutrient profile so they make a good pre- or post-workout snack, or even just a snack at the office or on the go. I was blown away by the nutrition facts panel on these products; you can check them out for yourself on the Crickstart.com website. What’s great about crickets is that they’re high in protein (twice as much as beef or chicken), with all 9 essential amino acids (necessary for muscle growth and repair among other things) and in vitamin B12 and iron – so they provide all the nutrition you get from meat, without many of their downsides. For the same amount of protein compared to beef, crickets require 12x less feed, 2,000x less water, thousands of times less land, and they emit 100x less greenhouse gases. There are over 40 crickets in every Crickstart bar and over 100 in every cracker bag, and trust me when I tell you this: They taste delicious! Creating innovative treatments for better healthcare
In 2015 Liz Parrish performed a risky experiment - on herself. She took a gene therapy entirely untested on humans in the hope of “curing” what she says is a disease: ageing. Her gamble was criticised by some in the scientific community, but she is not the only one that thinks scientific advances will help humans live longer healthier lives.
Today we’re going to talk about aging. It’s a condition that everyone experiences and indeed, one thing is certain: when it comes to aging, our condition is terminal. Our guest today is challenging that and fighting aging head on. Today we’re speaking with Liz Parrish, the CEO of BioViva,a biotech company dedicated to advancing gene and cell therapies to treat the diseases of aging. We’ll dive into her work and learn about the results of the treatment that she received to slow and maybe even reverse the effects of aging. Liz is a passionate advocate for patient access to these revolutionary treatments, and a couple years ago, Liz decided to take her own medicine - literally. In September 2015, Liz underwent genetic therapy with the aim of slowing and even reversing the effects of aging. She believes that aging should be classified as a disease to open up entirely new and untapped pathways to extend human lives and allow us to be healthier, longer. Gene therapy to treat aging as a disease. Is this something that will catch on? Should we be tinkering with our own genes in this way? If not, why not? We’re already extending the lives of animals from earthworms to mice - why shouldn’t we work to extend our own lives through applying this technology? But if we do that, will these treatments only be available to the elite and wealthy of our society, or is this something that can benefit all of society by making it available to anyone who wants it? We tackle these issues and more in this episode of Digital Health Today. Tune in! Today's Topics How our bodies age and the hallmarks of aging (Also watch the video below!)The role of telomeres in agingWhy 'Aging' should be classified as a diseaseCan aging be reversed? The results from Liz's genetic treatment to reverse agingGet the full show notes and all the links and videos at DigitalHealthToday.com/30 Learn more about your ad choices. Our guest today is Liz Parrish, founder and CEO of BioViva Science USA, a company committed to extending healthy life spans using gene therapy. Liz shares the advances BioViva has made in gene therapy research, as well as her own experience undergoing one of their pioneering therapies, which may make her the first human GMO. Liz Parrish of BioViva wants to genetically engineer you. Telomere Attrition and the Disease of Biological Aging Liz is a humanitarian who was initially drawn to reversal of aging research through her interest in curing childhood disease. Telomeres are the caps at the end of each strand of DNA that protect our chromosomes, and the shortening of those telomeres begins from the moment we are born. This telomere attrition is responsible for biological aging, which underlies almost every disease. Liz and her team at BioViva want to not only extend people's life expectancy, but to allow people to live to be 120 or older in a youthful and capable way by tackling biological aging as a disease in and of itself. Part of what makes this research so exciting is the fact that extending healthy life spans has broad-reaching humanitarian implications. If we become a healthier and longer-lived population, that increases our humanitarian outreach, how we cultivate land and how we see the future. In short, we make better choices. Overcoming the Negative Reputation of GMOs GMO has developed a bad reputation due to its use in food products. But treating humans as GMOs is a different story. For example, no one would malign children who undergo gene therapy for muscular dystrophy. When looking at a new medical science, it's important to keep in mind that all modern medicine was considered heresy at some point. Liz wants to stress that gene therapy isn't scary, but rather an eloquent and beautiful science — disease mitigation at its best. The injection of genes directly into your cells is a cleaner, better process for your body without the negative side effects that come with taking pharmaceuticals. We see the most benefit when we tackle biological aging as opposed to spending billions of dollars on trying to cure individual diseases. The key is for the NIH to recognize biological aging as a disease in and of itself, which will open up funding and resources for researchers. When you get older, you don't look in the mirror for as long.” – Liz Parrish of BioViva. What Comes Next…And What Do We Do While We Wait? The next step is for BioViva is to run a clinical trial against a disease – Alzheimer's is the best candidate — in order to ensure the therapy is safe and eventually make it available to the public. In the meantime, Liz reaffirms that the best way for individuals to increase life span is through moderate exercise every day, a healthy diet and avoiding the consumption of excessive sugar.
Last time I interviewed BioViva CEO Liz Parrish I had no idea that she would make global headlines shortly thereafter by becoming a gene therapy test subject herself. And so I wanted to bring her back to discuss the kind of experiment she volunteered for, as well as the broad science behind it. So, 4 […]
Micah Redding talks to Liz Parrish, the first human to be given gene therapy to reverse aging. Micah & Liz discuss risk-taking, the potential issues with life extension, and what happens if this treatment becomes available to the world.
BioViva‘s CEO Liz Parrish is a fire-starter and probably not everyone’s favorite person. But if your goal is as bold as defeating aging then you’ll have to break some eggs. And so feel as you might but I have to admit that Parrish is definitely one of my favorite people – not only for the scientific work […]
"BioViva is engaging in a bold implementation of genetic rejuvenation therapies - a first step on a path that I have been proposing for 15 years" -Aubrey de Grey "Elizabeth Parrish has taken the bull by the horns to spearhead an approach to cure aging using gene therapy that no one has ever had the guts to do before. Her gene therapy approach at BioViva makes all of the previous theoretical iterations of telomerase activation nearly obsolete. It will finally deliver on the promise of my team’s discovery of the hTR and hTERT genes at Geron Corporation and take that promise to the next, powerful and groundbreaking level.
