There isn't yet a tariff on conspiracist narratives. So former Daily Wire podcaster Candace Owens imported one from France. Which is why she now finds herself the subject of a serious lawsuit filed by the French President Emmanuel Macron and the First Lady Brigitte Macron. Owens used Instagram influencer aesthetics to recycle a 2021 theory for American audiences that was originally promoted by a French spiritual medium and spread through “Yellow Vest” and antivax networks. For some reason, Owens wasn't satisfied with the genuinely odd history of the Macrons' relationship (they met when Brigitte was married with children and Emmanuel was just 14, despite most American sources claiming they met when he was 15.) Instead she picked up the convoluted conspiracy theory that Brigitte is really her brother Jean-Michel Trogneux who became a trans woman and proceeded to assist with turning Emmanuel into an MKULTRA-controlled “Manchurian Candidate.” In Owen's ludicrous tale, the Macrons then killed anyone who started asking questions about Brigitte's past, Clinton-body-count style. But since this nonsense is powered by crude bigotry rather than any investigatory impulse, the evidence is unsurprisingly weak. Owens' method of argumentation involves ignoring the fact that Jean-Michel Trogneux is clearly alive and a separate person, looking at real photos and declaring them fake, and birthday numerology. Known for their “always steamed, never toasted” approach, the bagels are steamed twice for a tender, melt-in-your-mouth experience. Popular menu items include The Griswold, featuring turkey, bacon, and barbecue sauce, and the Nacho Maximus, topped with nacho cheese Doritos. STORY 2: Marietta kindergartners get first taste of school bus life Marietta’s annual "Ready, Set, Ride" event gave first-time bus riders a practice run before the school year begins. Over 100 students participated, preparing for the return of 8,500 students across 12 campuses, with 5,800 riding buses. Bus driver Cathy Wells decorated her bus with positive messages, calling it an extension of the classroom. She emphasized safety rules, reminding kids to sit properly. Kindergartener Waverly Andrews experienced her first bus ride with excitement, while fifth-grader Giovanna Ricciardi guided her younger brother Nico, ensuring a smooth start to the school year. STORY 3: Fake Romeos used Facebook, Instagram and other platforms in scheme to swindle women Kenneth G. Akpieyi, a Georgia man, was convicted in Louisiana for his role in a $3 million romance scam targeting women online. Using social media platforms like Facebook and Instagram, Akpieyi and others lured victims into fake relationships, later requesting money for fraudulent causes via encrypted apps like WhatsApp. Akpieyi, operating under the alias Phillip Anderson, funneled funds through his company, KGA Autobrokers LLC, to accounts in China and the UAE. Jimmy and Americans' Comedian Kurt Metzger cover the surprising news that French President Emmanuel Macron and First Lady Brigitte Macron have filed a 218-page, 22-count defamation lawsuit in Delaware Superior Court against conservative commentator Candace Owens. The suit alleges that Owens spread false and malicious conspiracy theories, including claims that Brigitte Macron was born male and is secretly Emmanuel Macron's brother, as well as that the couple is involved in CIA mind-control experiments.  These accusations were widely circulated through Owens' eight-part podcast series “Becoming Brigitte,” social media posts, and branded merchandise, which the Macrons argue were used to profit from their reputational harm. In response, Owens has doubled down on her claims, calling the lawsuit a “goofy PR stunt” and framing the legal action as an attack on her First Amendment rights. No, but when has that ever mattered.  The Trump-Epstein story keeps getting further off the rails, this week with the news that Bondi informed Trump he is mentioned in the DOJ's investigation files. And maybe Ghislaine Maxwell is getting a deal to testify that Trump did nothing wrong? Or maybe Obama will be arrested?  Finally, we get to the movie part of the pod because we saw two movies this week, Eddington and Fantastic Four - First Steps.
