No podéis perdéroslo!!! Two very different top 10 lists from 2010, one of the best years of gaming in modern memory. The usual mix of magazine memories and news from the time. That's it! Enjoy. E invítenos a jugar Twister. Today’s broadcast is C1E54 for Theme Thursday, November 19th, 2020. Today’s theme is one of the most special we've ever had on the show – a celebration of 35 years of the most famous, iconic, and ubiquitous franchise in all of video game history – Super Mario Bros. Welcome to part 1 of a very special 2-episode series for the month of June! We've heard all the feedback about how much you love hearing us talk about games and VGM from our own perspectives, so we though it would be fun to mix it up a little. Fatigue reigns heavy on our shoulders this week! Dale and I stumble our way through a very sleepy show, mostly discussing last week's question - what are some of your favourite gaming sequels? An excellent playlist of listener choices definitely helps paper the gaps on this one as we attempt to make sense of our own brains, leading up to our focus for next week - best boss tracks of all time! Many Pepsis come to our aid this week; but can they get us through?WARNING!: This is probably the most disastrous, sleep deprived ep of The Sound Test ever recorded! All this and more as we dream of possibility and adventure on the beaches of Koholint. Rad! Another look into dance music in video games that probably wasn’t meant for dancing but you totally could if you wanted to. This episode pulls from dance music of all types, including EDM, funk, house and more… though since it is video games and mostly retro games, there’s still a profound ’80s vibe. Enjoy. Greetings everyone! Today we have an oddity of a game known as The Legend of Zelda: Tri Force Heroes. (2015) This game was developed and published by Nintendo and the music was composed by Ryo Nagamatsu. Hosts Kamille, Joe, and special guest Justin, discuss their take on this offbeat title, how they played it, likes and dislikes, and whether or not it's actually worth your time. There are definitely some weird Nintendo like quirks to this game and the hosts go over it all, for better or worse. There's a small spoilerish section where we talk about the paper thin story and its details so if you care about that, we do warn before we talk spoilers.
Hard to believe it has been 30 years since we were first told "our princess is in another castle.” For those of you not familiar with the reference, "Super Mario Bros.," one of the most popular video games of all time, turned 30 this year. Super mario bros. has grown to become one of the most popular video game series of all time and it’s main protagonist, Mario , is the closest thing to Mickey Mouse in the world of video games, an instantly recognizable symbol of gaming and a mascot for its company, NINTENDO so this STAGE of the retro VGM revival hour is dedicated to that video game icon, Super mario… here we goooooooooo!!! ===Game - Composer - Title - Year - Company - System=== 1.)
