We embark on a truly epic journey this week with part 1 of our exploration of the work OF...John Congleton. King Congleton is unquestionably the most prolific producer we have covered yet, and even at this early stage he pairs a flair for the theatrical with a beautiful sense of space and texture. Here we cover the Paper Chase, Explosions in the Sky, This Will Destroy You, Shearwater and loads and loads and loads more. Like, loads more. So much more it's absurd. Tons.

Picture by Evgeny Salganik Today is our J G D. Our what? Jeremy Galindo Day! Jonas gave you his review here here and we also spoke to the man behind the record, Jeremy Galindo, whom most of you will know as one of the guys behind TWDY. But beware and follow the instructions please! We wanted you to listen to this track first as it is necessary to know what awaits us when The Introvert's first full-length will be released via dunk!records on June 2nd. You should know that this is not a project by This Will Destroy You, it's a project by one of its band members and as such it's already quite different to one of the most successful post-rock bands. Jeremy is a easy to talk to person and thus talking with him about his love for film scores, ambient music and also the approach he had to making this kind of music was very easy and pleasant. He showed a lot of thoughtfullness and gave some insights on the correlationb between the records and the time when it was conceived, the pandemic. Carry the Bomb, Carry the Power is in a clear way a child of its time with a bright ray of hopefulness on the horizon. Enjoy our video and leave some feedback on our socials!

In this week's episode, Kevin and Nole talk through some of the ways they plan to make the new year, 2022 into a good one. In our opinion, there are likely going to be a lot of things that we can't change going on this year that we will probably not enjoy or agree with. SHY, LOW are true masters of the exquisite craft of stark contrasts and broad dynamics, from delicate crescendos to the grandiose power of the riff… a craft that lies at the heart of every outstanding instrumental rock record. With Snake Behind The Sun the Richmond, Virginia-based four-piece has made an epic album brimming with creativity, groove, heaviness, and truly outstanding songwriting -- a record that is intricate and mature, yet gloriously anthemic at the same time. Indeed, Snake Behind The Sun is an astounding and immensely diverse record that will appeal to fans sitting on all ends of the broad spectrum of modern heavy rock music Snake Behind The Sun is available on CD, LP, and digital formats. Find preorders at THIS LOCATION. Fans of Pg. Lost, This Will Destroy You, Caspian, And So I Watch You From Afar, Russian Circles, Thrice, etc. pay heed. Recorded, mixed, and produced at Vudu Studios in Long Island, New York by Mike Watts (The Dillinger Escape Plan, Glassjaw, Hopesfall, Tides Of Man), SHY, LOW's Snake Behind The Sun pulls from elements from previous eras of the band, but also pushes into new territory. The result is a slicker, more modern, layered three-dimensional sound. “The recipe for achieving that began with a lot of pre-production on our end,” comments guitarist Zak Bryant. “We demoed the entire record at home prior to entering the studio, reworking some songs several times before calling them done. From there, it was Mike [Watts]. After hearing his work with bands like O'Brother, Lume, Glassjaw, and others, we grew very fond of the drum sounds he got, and his ear for overall mix balance and production.” The other important ingredient was drummer Dylan Partridge -- who at the time of recording, was a commissioned drummer and is now a fix band member -- and the phenomenal drum room at Vudu Studios. These two elements were crucial in creating the overall vibe and atmosphere for the record. “Holing up in the studio for three weeks to track the record was extremely beneficial and something none of us had done in the past -- it gave us the ability to really fine tune the songs alongside a producer, and the ability to experiment with various gear not normally at our disposal,” recalls Bryant. The album title is a metaphor for the notion that darkness and negativity can remain hidden even among seemingly positive forces and positive beings in one's life. As a matter of fact, the snake crawled out from behind the sun, while the band was in the studio recording the album: “By week three, there were talks of New York state locking down; with one day left before the lock down was alleged to go into effect, it became a mad dash to finish tracking the record so we could book it home to Richmond, Virginia,” says bass player Drew Storcks. This week, Aaron and Brent spotlight a group known for their lengthy atmospheric instrumental pieces and early-era music from one of the biggest progressive bands of all time. Led by guitarists Jeremy Galindo and Chris King and featuring effects-laden guitar and a heavy usage of dynamics, Aaron highlights the Texas-based band This Will Destroy You. Bypassing commercially successful albums in lieu of more collaborative and experimental songs, Brent emphasizes three songs from early in Pink Floyd's career. In this episode, Cody has a conversation with artist and musician Robi Gonzalez. Robi’s had an affinity for music since he was a kid, back when his uncle taught him how to sit on the drums and play a basic beat. In 2006, that took a more tangible shape in the form of two projects. One was Robi’s solo project called Robot, where he produced ambient music that, he says, would fit a sci-fi movie. The other was a project called rawbeats, where he teamed up with his best friend Max Cuzor. They both played the drums at the same time while sharing a kick drum. In 2012, Robi started drumming for A Place to Bury Strangers, a rock band known for their loud, atmospheric performances. He eventually quit so he could pursue a career as a hairdresser, but after he got his hair license he joined another band, This Will Destroy You. In the first issue of Crude Magazine, back in 2013, Cody interviewed Robi and he described himself as, “tangential, not scatterbrained.” And that still holds true. He always seems to make it back to his original point. In this conversation, like many others Cody and Robi have had, they talk about following the unconventional path of an artist and a musician, and where that leads. How there are benefits and there are pitfalls to pursuing that tumultuous and uncertain road.

Welcome in to Episode Nine of Adventures In New Music, hope this sees you well!Join Chris and Andy this week as they discuss Muzz by Muzz and The Menace Of Mechanical Music by Team Picture.Muzz are somewhat of a supergroup featuring Paul Banks (Interpol), Josh Kaufman (Bonny Light Horseman) and Matt Barrick (The Walkmen) and, although playing together since 2015, this self titled album is their debut release. The track that peaked Chris's interest enough to select this album as his pick of the week was Red Western Sky which is a fantastic track, and up there for one of the best tracks of the year. Will the album keep up the high level of this lead track?!Check out the rather creepy video to Red Western Sky here, and the brilliant isolation video (are people still doing these now?!) for Bad Feeling. One of the better isolation vids from this rather odd time we're living through.Released on the 12th June 2020, The Menace Of Mechanical Music is the debut record from Leeds six piece Team Picture. After a chance encounter sitting next to a couple of members of Team Picture at a mutual friends wedding Andy, rather bravely, picked this as his album of the week. The album opens with a song in a time signature of seven so Chris should be happy. Simple things for Mr J. This is a must for fans of Arcade Fire and Kate Bush but what will the chaps think of it?Fancy a little taster? Have a little look and see what you think of this performance of this is the from the album. As well as the above Andy has been busy listening to new music as he finally gets round to listening to Punisher by Phoebe Bridgers (and about time to, it's proper bo!) As well as PB he also raves about Haim's latest offering 'Women In Music PT. III', 'Vespertine' by This Will Destroy You and the current album from Ray LaMontagne 'Monovision'. Chris has had less involved week of music listening, but has devoured half a baked feta. Yum.There's also some pretty random Going For Gold banter. فیلمهای معرفی شده: Man on Wire محصول سال ۲۰۰۸ مستند Breaking 2 آهنگهای استفاده شده: موسیقی قسمت کیپچوگی: Quiet از گروه سبک پستراک This Will Destroy You موسیقی انتهای اپیزود: The Hills اثر Weekend ارتباط با ما: ایمیل: runyoupodcast@gmail.com اکانت اینستاگرام رانیو: @runyou_podcast اکانت اینستاگرام سهراب: @sohrabovsky اکانت اینستاگرام نادا: @nada_saboori تلگرام رانیو: @runyou_podcast رانیو یک پادکست مستقل است.

In this episode, Christopher and Lance interview Nic Brant and Jeremy Wurst from Minor Movements! The episode begins with a debut clip from their new single, Low Hum. They get into the history of Minor Movements and how it grew from a solo project with Nic producing the first two records to a full lineup on the most recent album, Bloom, as well as the recording process. They talk influences, including This Will Destroy You, Converge, Lowercase Noises, Hammock, Tides of Man, and Thrice. The majority of the conversation is centered around Bloom, how they recorded it, mixed it, and which song is their favorite to play live. They briefly discuss how even the new single is vastly different from the music on Bloom. Nic and Jeremy discuss the future of Minor Movements and the possibility of writing music to visual aids. This episode concludes with the featured song, Where You're Looking From, from Bloom.https://minormovements.bandcamp.com Instagram Facebook Episode Playlist: This Will Destroy You - New Topia Converge - The Dusk in Us Lowercase Noises - Passage Hammock - Turning Into Tiny Particles... Glassing is an experimental post-metal band whose close relationship with This Will Destroy You has deeply influenced their gnarly tones, malleable song structures and relentlessly heavy sound. The black metal influenced trio signed to Brutal Panda for their sophomore full length "Spotted Horse": a gargantuan beast of a record full of atmospheric soundscapes, thumping percussion and exasperated vocal lines. Between the songs, Glassing spoke about their approach to each instrument, their working friendship with TWDY and DIY venues in Chicago. "Formed in in 2015, the members of DEAFCULT came together after playing in much-loved Brisbane bands TheGifthorse, Nuclear Summer and Roku Music. Following the release of their self-titled debut EP in 2015, they scored the standing of Independent Artist of the Week on FBi Radio, with Happy noting “a rawness to their sound that is reminiscent of the early days of Sonic Youth.” Having moved through personnel changes, the sextet have now solidified their line-up, consisting of Innez Tulloch (Vocals, guitars), Stevie Scott (Vocals, guitars, synth), Kelly Hanlon (Guitars), Matt Bach (Guitars), Allan McGregor (Bass) and Nathan Crust (Drums), and have joined forces with Adelaide label Hobbledehoy(Crusch, Sophie Hutchings, This Will Destroy You) to release their debut album this month." Dedicated to Zac Roorda In our 23.5th episode of 5huffle, John and Jarid explore the epic and layered genre that is Post-Rock music. In it they discover: that 4 balls deep is the appropriate amount of “deepness” to delve into Post-Rock, that Mogwai is probably a christian metal band, and that This Will Destroy You proves the existence of Plato’s Realm of Ideas. Oh, and they talk about five Post-Rock tracks. Episode 23.5's Tracks: Good Morning, Captain - Slint Mogwai Fear Satan - Mogwai Blaise Bailey Finnegan III - Godspeed You!
