In this week’s episode of the Babylon Bee podcast, Kyle and Ethan talk about the week’s big stories like Christian knockoffs of secular products being bad, people on the right side of history who are on the wrong side of God, boogaloo skunks, and how are current culture is just the free market of people's fists meeting other people's faces. Show Outline Introduction Welcome to The Babylon Bee podcast with your hosts Kyle Mann and Ethan Nicolle, the two funnymen behind a lot of the stuff you read on The Babylon Bee. They’re not as funny here as they are when they write satire, so get used to disappointment. Stuff That’s Good Stuff that’s good update: Kyle is finishing up Avatar The Last Airbender and it’s amazing Kyle likes  Journey to the Center of the Earth Ethan likes Blood Father  Weird News Dog left 'looking like alpaca' after biting pet groomer halfway through haircut Shopper spotted using paper bag as face covering - and others have used knickers Family found man declared 'dead' still alive after breaking into hospital morgue Pizza Shop Owner Thwarts Robbery By Tossing Pie At Suspect Sealed copy of 'Super Mario Bros.' auctioned for a record $114,000 Mysterious 'vampire-slaying kit' including pistol and knife up for auction Stories of the Week Story 1 Man On Right Side Of History Surprised To Find He Still Went To Hell Summary: A local progressive was very careful to only advocate for the most progressive politics and be an activist for all the popular new social justice causes. So, since he was so clearly on the right side of history, he was very surprised to find after he died that he still went to hell. Story 2 Op-Ed: There's No Such Thing As Bully Culture, It's Just My Fist's Free Market Response To Your Stupid Face, Dweeb Summary: Local lunch money thief and wedgie specialist Biff O’Doyle wrote in a recent op-ed that Bully Culture is not real -quote- ‘It’s just my fist’s free-market response to your stupid face, dweeb’ -end quote tory 3 Here's What's Problematic With Each Of The NFL's 32 Team Names Well, the PC police have come for the Redskins. But we at The Babylon Bee feel they did not go far enough. There is white supremacy and racism everywhere in the NFL, with every single team in the league having some kind of offensive stereotype in their name. We hereby call on every team in the league to change their name for the following reasons. Topic of the Week Why is Christian stuff so bad? In this episode of The Babylon Bee podcast, editor-in-chief Kyle Mann and creative director Ethan Nicolle talk about the biggest stories of the week like Kim Jong Un being Un-dead, doctor Trump talking about disinfectant being used to clean the body, and the oppression of the American people under this lockdown being so bad that Trump has to tell the governors to “let my people go!” This episode is a must listen for the ‘Go Down Donald’ music track alone which we spent way too much time on. Show Outline Introduction - Kyle and Ethan talk about waterslides and hotdogs and shampoo. Stuff That’s Good -  Kyle: H.P. Lovecraft - At the Mountains of Madness, The Festival, Rats in the Walls, The Hound Ethan:  Like Trees Walking Podcast These Things Are Weird -  Ontario woman’s life saved by breast implant that deflected bullet Dirt bikers make use of sand-covered skate park in California Oregon man drove to 11 different Wendy's restaurants twice in 1 day to stock up on free nuggets, report says Woman ‘wakes up in a body bag after mistakenly being declared dead’ Stories of the Week Story 1 - North Korea Reports Kim Jong Un Is 'Most Alive Person In Universe' NBC’s Katy Tur tweeted then quickly deleted a tweet saying he was brain dead Conflicting rumors were circulating that the North Korean dictator had to have heart surgery to put a stent put in and that he was either dead or in a vegitative state  Liberals started thirsting for a woman dictator in his sister Kim Yo Jong North Korea is going to get a woman leader before the US? LET THAT SINK IN PEOPLE  Other countries that beat the US to a woman leader Kyle reads a very real and not fake at all statement from the People's Republic Of North Korea Story 2 - Trump Threatens More Plagues Unless State Governors Let His People Go Trump wants to start recommending phases of opening up the economy. But California, Oregon & Washington Announce Western States Pact in which they will only open up their states when SCIENCE says to. Kyle and Ethan hit the guitar and banjo for a new version of an old classic, Let My People Go.  (Begins at 00:29:11) Go down Donald, way down in Michigan Tell old Whitmer to let my people go When buyin’ guns and seeds was banned (Let my people go) Oppressed so hard they could not stand (Let My people go) “Go down ,  Donald   way down in Cali Land Tell old Gavin to let the skaters go” (LET THE SKATERS GO) So Trump spoke to the press and there decreed (Let My people go) But CNN -wouldn’t air the feed (Let My people go) Yes the protesters said, “come down (COME DOWN), Donald, (DONALD)  way (WAY)  down (DOWN) at the Bass Pro” BASS PRO Tell those governors to let them buy ammo (LET THEM BUY AMMO) Trump said, “If you want to end the quarantine, (Why not give bleach a go?) Hit em with hydroxychloroquine (Let the Clorox flow!”) God, The Lord said, “Go down, (GO DOWN)  Donald,(DONALD) way (WAY) down (DOWN) to America” Tell Dem TELL DEM governors GOVERNORS  to let My people go Tell Dem TELL DEM governors GOVERNORS let My people go  Story 3 - Trump Says To Drink Lots Of Water, Media Reports He Told Everyone To Drown Themselves Trump seemed to be pontificating before the press about things he was discussing with his experts about in coming up with possible treatments to defeat coronavirus. The corporate press immediately reported that Trump was advising the public to drink bleach and disinfectants and blue checks and Democrats jumped over it. Topic of the Week - Why go to church? With most people streaming church services, is there a reason to go back? Why should Christians have fellowship in person? Broader cultural effects of religion and church attendance Hebrews 10:25 - And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, 25 not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching. “They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching, to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer” (Acts 2:42) - Most of these things are not very zoom-friendly Church as performance versus church as participation in the body If you’re just there to see a cool concert and speech, then really there is no difference between attending and streaming. The consumerism mindset, church as a product Communion, baptism, church discipline Also need to consider that you go to church to serve others not just to receive a message or receive service yourself Plus, pastors who preach on a live stream are really flat and two-dimensional. They aren’t very responsive. It’s like talking to a wall. Hate Mail- Get rid of that Mullet guy!! Paid-subscriber portion (Starts at 01:08:22) Mailbag! - We get a audio clip from a fan and an email. “Inhale fresh, life-giving oxygen… exhale toxic, dead carbon dioxide,” said my yoga teacher. I've heard some variation of this hundreds of times in classes. Oxygen is good, carbon dioxide is bad. In with the good, out with the bad. Right?  As it turns out, this kindergarten understanding of breathing physiology is wrong. Most of us could really benefit from more CO2 because it opens up your air passageways, relaxes smooth muscle tissues, and allows for greater absorption of oxygen. Lack of CO2 actually leads to a lack of oxygen. Confused yet? Don't worry, you're not alone.  On this week's show, we'll set the record straight and help you understand why slow breathing boosts CO2, and why that's a good thing.  Listen & Learn:   The CO2 paradox: why you need carbon dioxide to actually absorb oxygen Why 4-6 liters of air per minute is what we need but most people breathe 2x that much  How over-breathing reduces (not increases) oxygen levels Why over-breathing and mouth breathing is associated with dozens of neurological disorders and diseases  How to slow down your breath  Links & Resources:  Artour's Site ABOUT OUR GUEST  Dr. Artour Rahkimov has been teaching the Buteyko method and breath retraining to thousands of students for more than 17 years. He was trained by Ludmila Buteyko and Dr. Andrey Novoh-zhilov, MD, the Chief Physician of the Buteyko Clinic in Moscow. The laws of small changes Introduction What’s happening Reminders: Like, rate, review, share Send to farm4profitllc@gmail.com Register for the conference Jason Mauck of Constant Canopy - Keynotes What’s working for Ag – listener or farmer feedback (Nathan Anderson) Networking: Building, maintaining, and utilizing human networks. Creating friends of the farm rather than enemies Having those around you that you can ask for help, borrower equipment, trade services (grain bin moving story) Continued learning through others Hosting or attending field days to learn about best practices and meet others with more experience Connecting with area politicians Taking advantage of paid lobbying trips, talking to those in DC, get in conversations with those who have little in common with you. Breaking the stigma of an “Independent Family Farm” Farmers should be very dependent on others. That is the way is used to be with shared equipment and labor. Becoming “Interdependent” https://practicalfarmers.org/ https://www.iowafarmbureau.com/ https://agsolver.com/ Topic of the Week: Why do small changes matter? People don’t fear or resist change in general. It has to be exciting, clear, and obtainable to get the human psyche on board. People cut their hair, buy new equipment, try new food all the time = change It’s intimidating to think about cutting something out of your life completely. Instead of eliminating something completely to save costs take a look at the budget and find small areas of savings. 5% less spent on utilities (call and ask for a break), less in interest expense (call and ask or pay down quicker), inputs like wages, seed, chemicals, fertilizer (application rates or dealer price lowering), family living expenses (eat at home) Sell or produce for 5% more – more sources of revenues What would it take to boost your yields by 5%? 200 bushel is 10 more bushel 50 bushel is 2.5 more, 3 lbs per day rate of gain is just an extra 15 hundredths daily What would it take to sell your crop or animal 5% better than you have in the past? Use a broker? Follow a plan? Set target dates? Could you grow your gross revenues by 5% by doing something else? Custom farm, contract or sub work, become a dealer, network referrals, board position? If you could grow or raise your commodity for 5% less cost at the same time as selling it for 5% more your actual net profit increases. The profit you produce doesn’t just increase by 10% though it will be more! $50M into $62.5M is 25% more while $5 into $15 is 200% more (chocolate bars) Buy 100 chocolate bars for 95 cents each and sell them for $1 apiece. This leaves you with 5% margin or $5 profit at the end of the day. However, if you find a 5% off coupon and by them for 90 cents each and sell them for $1.05 you have a profit now of $15 or 200% more than before. Summarize This doesn’t just apply to purchasing and selling. Making small changes in habits, mental and physical health, management techniques and more will pay off. Management, health, and more to be covered in future episodes. Challenge What are some easy areas for you to make 5% changes in your operation? Where are the harder areas of changing going to be? Focus on assigning a dollar of impact figure to each category and focus on the areas of largest impact first. They may not be the easiest or most fun but will be the most rewarding. Conference Update - Jason Mauck of Constant Canopy will be one of the Key Note speakers

Podcasting and learning are the perfect partners. Listeners get to connect with the speaker in a much more intimate way. Hosts and podcasters get to express their views and opinions through their voice and telling their unique story. Podcasts are also a perfect way to get students excited about learning in a whole new way. They not only get the experience of gathering information and organizing it for presentation, but they get to put their own unique spin on the topic using their own voice. Teachers also have the advantage of getting kids excited about learning by letting them talk about topics that really interest them. If you are wondering how to get your students started podcasting, wonder no more. My guest today has so much passion for teaching, that he teaches both college and high school level courses concurrently. He is also involved in hosting, editing, or producing at least six podcasts and counting. He is a man who puts his love of technology and teaching into action everyday. Chris is also a good friend of mine and my go-to person for everything podcasting. In this episode, we talk about how to podcast with your students. We go over how to get started, tools to use, types of podcasts to consider, and much more. Chris is the host of The House of #EdTech Podcast and the producer of the Google Teacher Tribe Podcast that I do with Matt Miller. He has been teaching for 11 years. He is super creative and is always on the cutting edge of education technology. I’m super excited to have him on this show. I would also like to give a shout out to my friend Julie Cobb (E2Cobb) for her review on Episode 6 On-Air Coaching] - Staying Focused on the Learning Goals, Not the Technology. Thank you, Julie. This episode is sponsored by Pear Deck which brings powerful learning moments to life through presentations. They are also part of Be Internet Awesome and integrate with Google Apps for Education. Shake Up Learning listeners can try Pear Deck Premium for 60-days for free.   In This Episode: [05:20] - Chris is super excited to be on the Shake Up Learning Podcast. [05:44] - Chris is a high school social studies teacher in central New Jersey. He has been teaching for 11 years. [06:01] - He also teaches at the school of communication at Rutgers University. He teaches three courses at Rutgers in addition to the six courses he teaches at the high school level. [06:16] - Chris has been hosting The #House of EdTech Podcast for almost 6 years. He's been co-hosting PodcastPD for over 2 years. He edits the Google Teacher Tribe Podcast. He edits the Partial Credit Podcast, and he produces the Assist Learning Podcast. [06:43] - He also plans on producing the Infused Classroom Podcast. [07:08] - Chris loves what he does. He wanted to be an educator since he was 16 or 17 years old. None of it is work to him. [08:58] - Chris loves podcasting, because it gives him an opportunity to put his perspective and point of view out into the world. [10:05] - Kasey shares how moving from blogging to podcasting builds a different type of relationship with people. People feel like they know you in a different way. [11:14] - Creating video or audio is an intimate experience. [12:50] - Audio is a powerful learning tool for teachers. This makes podcasts the perfect medium. [15:11] - Students can use audio for any subject in a form that ranges from presentations to reflection tools. [16:47] - Teachers can record entire lessons for reflection or lectures to give to students. [18:53] - Kasey shares how podcasting is such a great tool for students from writing to fluency and the all important reflection piece. [20:25] - Students can get started podcasting with things they already have like Chromebooks, iPods, iPads, and cell phones. The idea is to create content, so just hit record. [21:24] - Free tools like Audacity and TwistedWave and Soundtrap can be used for editing audio. [23:06] - Other tools to simplify podcasting include Anchor, Synth, and Spreaker. [25:10] - Be careful letting Anchor do everything for your podcast, because you give up control and access to stats. Be the one who submits your RSS feed to Apple, Stitcher, Spotify, etc. You want to own your own content or podcast feed. Anchor users need to be at least 13 years old. [29:17] - PodcastPD let's Chris and his co-hosts talk about any educational topics. [30:52] - The #House of EdTech is all about technology integration and using it in the classroom today. [35:18] - Getting students to tell their stories is super relevant. Give kids the opportunity to create podcasts that they are truly interested in. Own It! For Entrepreneurs. Talking Digital Marketing, Small Business, Being Digital Nomads and Success Thinking

Why are entrepreneurs so annoying? They buy systems and processes and then sabotage themselves by deviating from them!   In The Show Judith’s had a testing week with another fall, another house move, breakages and sleeplessness. Fortunately, there are lots of lovely family meetups too. Nicola has been woken in the night by an earthquake – wow! And she was persuaded to go and watch the local Am Dram.   What’s Fuelled Their Fire? Two of the ladies in Nicola’s Write Club have had some wonderful successes.  And sharing a computer with sister Sarah in 2-hour stints has caused them both to be more efficient and work differently. Both Nicola and Judith were inspired by the contributions from the listeners to episode 200 of Own It! And Judith’s enjoyed driving in the countryside, finding it uplifting; she’s especially enjoying singing M People’s Moving on Up and noticing the pretty English churches in Somerset and Dorset.   Focus of the Week Why do entrepreneurs buy systems and processes and proven formulae and then sabotage themselves by deviating from them, or not showing up at all or believing that somehow it’s different for them?   Words of the Week Nicola chooses Contingency and Judith picks Idiosyncratic.   Project Updates Nicola changed three things at once with her online presence across the summer and then realised she couldn’t tell the impact of any of them, so she’s reversing two. Judith’s still pondering a sabbatical in 2019 where she might not take on any new clients but would continue to look after her most beloved existing ones.   Who or What’s Impressed? Judith was impressed by Jo Berry who has found a way to forgive the only IRA member convicted of killing her father in the Brighton bombing of the Tory Party Conference. Patrick Magee was later released from prison as part of the Good Friday agreement and they got to know one another and now travel the world in the name of peace and reconciliation. Here’s her interview on R2’s Jeremy Vine show with Vanessa Feltz. Nicola has discovered Magic Numbers with Hannah Fry on BBC4 and the Mysterious World of Maths.   Thanks for listening! Why Are Women Drawn to Weak Men? (Church, May 20)

VIDEO: https://youtu.be/dgDS3Q8_E8M Jesse asked his new Biblical Question of the Week: Why are women drawn to weak men? He also answered last week's Biblical Question: How do you see women? He used to see women the way men generally see them — as sex objects, and he'd pretend to be interested in their minds as guys do in order to get with them. A newcomer who found Jesse via YouTube spoke about the relationship between men and women, with many biblical references. Jesse asked him some direct questions, some yes or no questions, to which Jesse wanted simple answers. Instead, the man first provided many caveats and background explanations before really answering directly. He said that women open up men to things they don't normally focus on, such as to talking about relationships. He never married — after Jesse asked why, he eventually said that he had a good mother, but that his sisters were a bit wild or crazy. We talk more... http://rebuildingtheman.com/church

Work travel can be both a blessing and a curse.   Even if you love to travel, it can get overwhelming. It’s harder to maintain work/life balance, pursue side projects and hobbies, and spend time with friends, family, and your significant other It’s also far too easy to fall into expensive and unhealthy habits. While people often idealize travel while furthering their career, there are downsides that go unnoticed. On this episode, my friend Mike Kim, host of the Brand You Podcast, joins me to discuss the "unglamorous challenges" of travel for work and how we've dealt with them. Question of the Week: Why would anyone "waste" money traveling first-class or business class? Tune in at the 38:00 mark to hear my thoughts. If you have a question, please send it to podcast@michaelhudson.com. I will respond on a future episode!
