Interview was done September 19, 2023! I love meeting new people willing to share their “lemon to lemonade” experience! This story is about Allanah who experienced a vast decline with her mental health - nothing worked, and no one knew what was wrong with her. She felt inspired to go to a psychiatrist where she was diagnosed with Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD). Then a new hurdle of questions- how to live life with this disorder, how did she get it, and more importantly how can she help others with this disorder. Allanah is currently editing her own novel where the main character has BPD because she needs people to know that they aren't alone, they can live successfully, and they are more than a diagnosis or label. What message do you get from this interview? ABOUT the LemonAid Stand: Heidi started hosting the LemonAid Stand live radio talk show, over 20 years ago, in 1999! It all came about when Heidi was dealing with thoughts of suicide, inadequacy, and dealing with infertility. She realized as she reached out to others and heard their stories, she would be uplifted and inspired no matter what she was going through. So this podcast has old "Original" shows from that time period. It also has "New" shows that are currently being recorded with new guests. And it has "Update" shows where Heidi reached out to original radio show guests to find out how the past 20 years have been! Theme song written and recorded by Heidi's baby brother Shane! Heidi is a motivational speaker and would love to speak at your event about how to elevate your happiness! Today we're live from the library at Woodlands Golf Club in the famous sandbelt, and Nick has noticed that his book isn't in the library. We thought we might see a tantrum but then he found a bottle of wine, and the world was all good again. We start the show by toasting the fantastic win by Minjee Lee over the weekend in Cincinnati, what a star she is. Nick and Mark discuss her performance, and Nick describes what he says was the shot of the week, which Minjee made on the 2nd playoff hole - and he decides to do a masterclass on that particular shot.Mark has an idea. He'd like to see caddies mic'd up so you can hear how they assist and advise the players, he feels it would be a great help to anyone watching to go inside the inner sanctum.Nick tells a great story about playing the K Club in Ireland, involving his wife Allanah and Dr Michael Smurfit who owned it at the time. On the Irish Open, both Nick and Mark would prefer the tournament in Dublin to be on a links course, but Nick talks about a couple of holes on the K Club course he particularly likes. Both Nick and Mark chat about last weeks announcement of the European Ryder cup team.LIV and the PGA. The schedule is yet to be released for 2024, what will happen, how will they structure it? Nick has a view on what will happen, Mark has a slightly different one. We discuss. And then we get notification of a voicemail message from Chris Payne, with a question for Nick and Mark. If you want to send the guys a voicemail you can record it here.Nick asks Mark for his advice on the best format for corporate golf days, there's plenty of ways it can be done, and Mark reckons he's got the perfect setup. As usual Nick runs around the world with lots of results, and a focus on the Aussies and Kiwis. Plenty of solid performances over the last week or so.We then call Joseph, who listens to the show and is a greenkeeper at Napier in New Zealand, we love hearing from our Kiwi Whanou ! Joseph wants to chat to the boys about a challenge he's having - not with his playing, but with something else. Whilst we've got him, Mark asks for a tip for the Rugby World Cup, and unsurprisingly Joseph reckons the All Blacks have it in the bag, and he is tipping the Warriors against Newcastle this weekend in the NRL. Who'd have thought.Lots of feedback again this week, including from someone (not Nick) who has been involved in beating Tiger Woods!A fun Top 5 today from Mark on great names in golf. And Nick's masterclass, inspired by Minjee Lee on her fantastic shot in Cincinnati at the weekend.Talk Birdie To Me, new episodes weekly wherever you get your podcasts. In this maiden voyage of our podcast Allanah and Erin talk about Shakespeare's "Romeo and Juliet". We go in depth of what was happening in the play and how we feel about it.
Niamh Campbell has always been around words, studying them, teaching them, constantly writing them. Her short story 'Love Many' won an Irish Times writing prize, and from that success she's published her debut novel, 'This Happy'.It tells the story of Allanah, who falls in love with an older man, and it unpacks the way that impacts her life. It's a novel of exploration, of description and words. We discuss how she worked through the plot from that, and how she works around her focus on language. We chat about why she finds characters boring, and how that influences much of what she writes. Also, why she's pretentious about genre, and how lockdown has made her reassess whether she's an introvert or an extrovert. You can get a copy of the book here - https://amzn.to/3gDNDIFAlso, please do support the show at patreon.com/writersroutine.@writerspodwritersroutine.com See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.

In this episode I call my work friend, Jason, and I tell him a joke.I've worked with Jason for several years, and even though I know some things about him - like that he's an excellent camera operator, and that he's funny, and that genuinely everyone thinks he's great - we've never actually spent enough time together to be proper friend friends. So, Jason, let's be actual friends in 2021, ok? Ok.The Snoop Dogg joke is courtesy of Allanah, a listener from Germany. Thanks Allanah! This week's podcast was made to describe how we made chalk. The instructions are in New Zealand School Journal Pt 2 No 4 2000. School Journals are a wonderful resource for reading for NZ children. It was a bit of a competition between two groups to see who could manage their group better to produce a clear well constructed audio file. 2.4 MB 1 minute

In the last week of our school holidays Jason Hando from Macarthur Anglican School in north Sydney put out a call for educators from around the globe to discuss their experiences with Web2.0 tools. The call was taken up by Sheryl Nussbaum-Beach, Jen Wagner and my good self. I was aware I was boxing above my weight but am always up for new learning with others around the globe. These opportunities always present opportunities for me to learn as well as share. Jason made a wiki to co-ordinate the venture. The concept was a fun one- that of speed dating!!! The idea was that participants would have 15 minutes to speak with each of the experts via Skype and then move on. Sheryl, Jen and Jen's cat, Mac were on one computer and I had to hold the fort on the other.Scary stuff. I can really recommend you listen to Sheryl and Jen's podcast which is much more eloquent that mine! 10MB 18 minutes
Sitting at home in Wales on Thursday evening at about 9.15pm I had a skype message from my pal Allanah King. Allanah is at an e-learning conference in Rotorua New Zealand, where one of their keynote speakers is David Warlick. Allanah was sitting in on David's talk on RSS, Aggregators and Social Networking here is what David had to say to his audience - until either the link or the power went from New Zealand... enjoy hopefully with David's permission - it was such a one off that I couldn't resist the opportunity to podcast this piece.
On a cold winter evening in South Wales I had a brilliant 3 way conversation with Allanah King ( Nelson, New Zealand) and Jane Nicholls (ICTucan - Dunedin, New Zealand). The discussion ranged over how each of us got into Web 2.0 technology to the change in pedagogy needed to implement these programs into the Primary School classroom - enough chat enjoy the skypecast. ** Picture of a very proud Grandfather with Grandson Jacob born January 17th 2007 weighing 7lb 3oz - well done Emily and Jay**
