A West London man was sentenced to three and a half years in prison after police uncovered an “underground vinyl manufacturing plant operating on an industrial scale.” According to officials, the facility generated more than $3.5 million by producing and distributing thousands of counterfeit vinyl records across the UK.The City of London Police estimate the underground plant, led by 40-year-old Rehan Ahmed, operated from 2017 to 2024 under the name “Phoenix of Vinyl.” It came under investigation after the British Phonographic Industry (BPI) referred the case to police, which resulted in the recovery of nearly 2,800 vinyl records in February 2024.Officers also found lacquer, four vinyl presses each about 70 years old, 3,000 metal stampers and thousands of sleeves and center labels. Officials said the seized materials reportedly weighed approximately 20 tons.Record labels examined the evidence and confirmed the operation infringed the copyrights of 108 artists. Rolling Stone reported that artists included Taylor Swift, The Beatles, Beyoncé, Rihanna, Adele, Drake, Bad Bunny and Ariana Grande.BPI Director of Content Protection Peter Ratcliffe said, “Sadly, it won't return the tens of millions of pounds that we estimate have been leeched from artists, the record labels that support them and the retail community that sells their music. Come Out of Babylon: Awakening Lukewarm Christians Before Judgment | KIB 550 Kingdom Intelligence Briefing DESCRIPTION Welcome to Kingdom Intelligence Briefing Episode #550 with Dr. Michael Lake and Mary Lou Lake. Why are so many Christians comfortable inside a system Scripture tells God's people to leave? In this episode, Dr. Michael Lake examines one of the most urgent calls in the Book of Revelation: "Come out of her, my people." — Revelation 18:4 The warning is significant because God addresses those inside Babylon as "my people." The problem is not simply that Babylon exists. The danger is that God's people can become entangled in its values, practices, loyalties, materialism, entertainment, counterfeit identity, and spiritual compromise. Dr. Lake and Mary Lou explore the picture of a spider's web as an illustration of the enemy's systematic methods. Ephesians 6:11 warns believers about the devil's "schemes" or "wiles." The Greek term methodeia conveys calculated, systematic deception—the kind of strategy designed to entangle people gradually rather than capture them all at once. Material comfort can disguise spiritual poverty, leaving believers satisfied with Babylon while believing they are walking fully in the Kingdom. But this episode is about far more than identifying Babylon. God does not merely call His people OUT. He calls them INTO something greater. Out of darkness—into the Kingdom. Out of compromise—into covenant faithfulness. Out of mixture—into holiness. Out of counterfeit identity—into identity in Christ. Out of slavery—into the freedom of obedience. Out of Babylon—into preparation as the Bride of Christ. The contrast between Daniel and Lot provides a powerful biblical picture. Daniel lived in Babylon without allowing Babylon to live in him. Lot moved progressively from proximity to Sodom, to accommodation, and finally integration. Daniel followed the opposite path: conviction, separation, faithfulness, and ultimately godly influence. This leads to one of the central messages of KIB #550: Babylon falls. The Bride prepares. The King returns. The ultimate message of Revelation is not the greatness of Babylon—it is the supremacy and worthiness of Jesus Christ. Which is most likely to compete with God’s truth in your own life: feelings, experiences, culture, consensus, family, politics, tradition, or personal preference? Why does that particular voice carry so much weight for you? Complete this sentence honestly: “I know what the Bible says, but…” Is there an area where what comes after the but may be revealing who actually gets the final word? HANDS – What are you going to do with it? Identify one belief, behavior, or decision where you need to ask: Am I allowing God’s truth to shape my preference, or am I trying to make God’s truth fit my preference? You tell me… what is one thing God is calling you to?  If you can't think of one, stop now and pray as a group and allow the prophetic, freeing, voice of the Holy Spirit to speak. In The Music Man, Professor Harold Hill sang "We got trouble, right here in River City, with a capital T and that rhymes with P, and that stands for Pool." In our study of Galatians, we need to change it to "trouble, with a capital T, and that rhymes with G, and that stands for "gospel". A counterfeit gospel caused great trouble in Galatia, and was an eternally serious business.

A counterfeit handbag may leave someone disappointed. A counterfeit medication, airbag, or child's car seat can do far more damage. Fake products now reach into nearly every part of daily life, and many of them arrive through online stores that look completely legitimate. Kari Kammel saw the danger firsthand when a pharmacist overseas offered her several versions of the same medication. Some were authentic, while others were openly described as counterfeit. That experience stayed with her. She now directs the Center for Anti-Counterfeiting and Product Protection at Michigan State University, where she works with consumers, brands, researchers, and law enforcement. Kari talks about how counterfeit goods enter the marketplace and why they have become so difficult to recognize. She explains what shoppers should examine before placing an order and what to check when the package arrives. The conversation also looks at the health risks behind fake products, the criminal activity they may fund, and the real reason an unbelievable deal can be so cheap. Who Sits On The Throne We all have a throne, and something is always sitting on it. The question is whether Jesus is truly King or simply an important part of a life we're still trying to rule ourselves. In the opening message of Counterfeit Kingdom, we explore how easily the promises of comfort, control, success, approval, and even our own desires can compete for our allegiance. From the Garden to Israel's demand for a king to the radically different responses of Herod and the Magi, Scripture keeps confronting us with the same question: Who sits on your throne? Because Christianity is not primarily self-improvement. It is a transfer of allegiance. And sometimes our strongest reactions reveal which king we're actually serving. Colossians 1:13–14 Discussion topics HEAD – What did Jesus say to you through the Word? Read Colossians 1:13–14 and Galatians 5:17. We said, “Christianity is not primarily self-improvement. It is a transfer of allegiance.” What does allegiance to Jesus actually look like in everyday life? In 1 Samuel 8, Israel wanted a king “such as all the other nations have.” Where do you see Christians today being tempted to adopt the values of the kingdoms around us? Was there anything in Sunday's sermon that really stood out to you personally? HEART – How did it make you feel? “Your reactions often reveal your allegiances.” Think about your strongest reactions lately: anger, defensiveness, fear, jealousy, anxiety, comparison. What might those reactions be revealing about what’s important to you? Which counterfeit king are you most tempted to trust for something only God can ultimately provide: comfort, control, approval, success, money, being right, relationships, politics, or something else? Complete this sentence as honestly as you can: “Jesus, You can have anything except _________.” What makes that particular thing difficult to surrender? HANDS – What are you going to do with it? Identify one area this week where you can intentionally surrender control to Jesus. What would surrender actually look like in that situation?
