Viele Fans stellen sich jedes Jahr aufs Neue die Frage: Wie bekomme ich Tickets für den Eurovision Song Contest? Denn so einfach ist es gar nicht. Man muss sich mittlerweile auf gleich zwei Seiten vorher (!) dafür registrieren, um dann am 13. Januar dabei zu sein, wenn die ersten Karten für die Shows in Wien verkauft werden. In ESC Update bringen wir Licht ins Dunkel und erklären euch genau, was ihr wo machen müsst, um an Tickets zu kommen. Und dann wurden ja auch noch diverse Regeln für den ESC geändert - unter anderem kehrt die Jury in den Halbfinalshows wieder zurück. Was das wohl bringen könnte, klären wir natürlich auch. Wie viele Länder schließlich in Wien antreten, steht noch nicht fest und hängt auch an der EBU-Generalversammlung Anfang Dezember. Klar ist allerdings schon, dass mit Moldau, Rumänien und Bulgarien gleich drei Länder zum Eurovision Song Contest zurückkehren, die zuletzt gefehlt hatten. Warum diese Länder nun wieder dabei sind und was sie geplant haben, hat unser Reporter Daniel Kähler rausgefunden. Und dann steht bald ja sogar eine richtige ESC-Show vor der Tür! Der Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2025 findet dieses Jahr in Tiflis statt - und läuft in Deutschland am 13. Dezember live im KiKA. Erstmals mit Radiomoderator Felix Schmutzer als Kommentator. Daniel Kübelböck aus der ersten DSDS-Staffel hatte diesem heiklimatischen Kurort einst ein Lied geschrieben. Außerdem hebt er die hohe Dichte an gehobenen Sternehotels dieses Ortes hervor. Das Wellnesshotel Bodenmaiser Hof ist eines der Häuser und unser Basiscamp dieser Reise. Gastgeber Anton-Geiger-Pauli erzählt von der Geschichte einer eigenen Schnapsbrennerei. Nun war es tatsächlich so weit: Der Song Contest "Intervision 2025" ist in Moskau über die Bühne gegangen. Vladimir Putin persönlich wollte diesen Wettbewerb, an dem am Ende 22 Länder teilgenommen haben. Russland selbst ist wegen des Angriffs auf die Ukraine ja raus beim ESC. Wir haben uns die vier Stunden lange Propaganda-Show für euch angesehen. Die Organisatoren versprachen einen politikfernen Wettbewerb. Allerdings ist Kreml-Chef Putin direkt am Anfang per Videobotschaft zu sehen gewesen. Und Außenminister Sergei Lawrow wurde sogar live in der Halle interviewt. Ach ja - gewonnen hat übrigens Duc Phuc aus Vietnam. Beim ESC wird die Teilnahme von Israel weiterhin diskutiert - und das heftiger als zuvor. Mehrere Länder wollen nicht mehr mitmachen, wenn Israel 2026 dabei ist. Dazu zählen etwa Rekordsieger-Land Irland, aber auch Spanien und die Niederlande als große Geldgeber des ESC. Eine Situation ohne einfache Lösung. Nun soll eine Abstimmung im November über Israels ESC-Zukunft entscheiden. Außerdem ist das Auswahlverfahren für den deutschen ESC-Vorentscheid 2026 gestartet. Hier hört ihr, wer sich ab jetzt dafür bewerben kann. Und wir werfen einen Blick auf "Deslocado" von NAPA, den portugiesichen Beitrag dieses Jahres. Von Kung-Fu-Hitlern, Scarface-Hemden und Hai-Horror! Zurück aus dem Urlaub! Zeljko ist wieder da und die Jungs stürzen sich direkt in eine vollgepackte Filmwoche, die von 80er-Jahre-Nostalgie bis zu blutigem Tier-Horror alles zu bieten hat. Den Anfang macht Zeljko mit einem absoluten Kult-Klassiker: Kung Fury. Der 30-minütige YouTube-Kurzfilm ist eine herrlich überdrehte Hommage an die 80er, die auch beim wiederholten Schauen für Lachtränen sorgt. Das führt zu einer kleinen Diskussion über den unvollendeten Nachfolger, der leider in der Produktionshölle feststeckt. Timo widmet sich derweil einer tragischen Figur der deutschen Popkultur und hat die dreiteilige ARD-Doku Die Küblböck Story - Eure Lana Kaiser gesehen. Ein respektvoller Blick auf das Leben und Verschwinden von Daniel Küblböck, der für alle, die das Thema noch nicht so auf dem Schirm haben, sehr sehenswert ist. Danach wird's schlüpfrig! Zeljko hat einen Ausflug in die Welt der "Cat III"-Filme aus Hongkong gemacht und sich Sex & Zen von 1991 angesehen. Eine absurde Sex-Klamotte mit Kung-Fu-Einlagen, die so ernsthaft überzogen ist, dass man nur noch lachen kann – definitiv nichts für jeden Geschmack, aber ein unvergessliches Erlebnis. Passend dazu hat Timo mit Fixed eine nicht minder derbe Animations-Komödie über einen Hund vor der Kastration entdeckt – eine Mischung aus Pets und Sausage Party, die mit plumpem, aber effektivem Humor punktet. Als Kontrastprogramm hat Zeljko dann noch Brian De Palmas Meisterwerk Scarface nachgeholt und schwärmt von der epischen Story, dem ikonischen Soundtrack und Al Pacinos Performance. Für ihn ist Tony Montana das ultimative "Stoppschild" – ein abschreckendes Beispiel, das trotz aller Faszination eine klare Warnung darstellt. Der Film der Woche ist diesmal der Tier-Horror-Thriller Dangerous Animals. Eine Surferin wird von einem Serienkiller entführt, der eine ungesunde Obsession für Haie hat. Timo ging ahnungslos in den Film und wurde von der Wendung überrascht. Beide sind sich einig: Der Film macht richtig Laune, auch wenn er sich gegen Ende wiederholt und einige Logiklöcher hat. Jay Courtney liefert eine herrlich durchgeknallte Performance ab, und die Hai-Szenen sind größtenteils effektiv umgesetzt. Ein solider Genre-Beitrag, der zwar das Rad nicht neu erfindet, aber für 90 Minuten packende Unterhaltung sorgt. Eine Folge voller Kult, Kitsch, Klassikern und krachender Action – wie immer mit viel Leidenschaft und persönlichen Einblicken. About this transformational approach to filmmaking, Daniel says, “What I started to learn about these (grassroots) films is that the films themselves were part of the reconciliation process for the person that had gone through a (traumatic) experience. And so, the act of writing down what had happened, thinking about their audience, the different characters ... and what were the myths around those characters. And what did they want the audience to do and think and feel concerned about, allowed for a reconciliation of all of the different frames that they had been told about their story … and allowed for a different level of control and empowerment around their story. And then, with the film screening, they could go to their local community, their local council members, their local community partners and they could just gather people differently. When you learn together, and when you learn someone's story and see how it connects to yours, it just creates this inspiration and this understanding that allows you to tell your story more effectively.” In the 5 years since inception, RJ now has people in 20 different states producing films & campaigns about their own lived experience, learning and growing from one another in ways that are completely transformative. RJ provides training, support, compensation and mental health resources ... all of which culminates in folks being able to produce a campaign about their unique personal experience rather than relying on whatever Hollywood has produced most recently. For this exceptional work Daniel was recently named a 2024 Elevate Prize winner, chosen alongside 9 other nonprofit leaders from across the globe for leading some of the most impactful missions to change our world for the better. RJ began as part of the impact campaign for the highly acclaimed Hollywood film, Just Mercy, starring Jamie Foxx and Michael Jordan, about the life of acclaimed public interest lawyer, Bryan Stevenson, and the civil rights work he does helping the incarcerated and the condemned. A policy expert conversant in the film's core issues, Daniel witnessed something remarkable at the screening and advocacy events he organized for Just Mercy - the unexpected impact of the people present connecting with each other through their own real life stories of similar lived experience. Says Daniel, "It got me thinking … what about this power of firsthand storytelling should extend beyond a campaign? What if we we were constantly working with folks who were impacted by this issue and, in fact, what if they were the ones producing the film? What if it wasn't a matter of a Hollywood actor? What if it wasn't as much a matter of a studio release? What if impacted folks, in their communities, had these skills of convening and using film as a medium?
