Seth and Marc are at opposite ends of the spectrum when it comes to Asia's Heat Of The Moment. Seth thinks this song is a beautiful song about a man who made a mistake and is baring his soul for the world to see. Marc thinks it's a guy who is trying to convince a woman who was hurt by him messing up by focusing on when things were good and then by manipulating with scare tactics. Was anyone swayed and what do you think?

Much of the music we discuss has a strong visual component. This is because popular music from the 60s and and 70s (and into the 80s) was primarily released on LPs, which had large covers, which came to act as canvases on which some rather stunning art was made. An oft forgotten prog rock band, ELP possessed more talent in their trio than most bands can muster in a quartet. Today, we look back at Tarkus on the 50th anniversary of its release, along with Brain Salad Surgery, perhaps ELP's most renowned album. Review and Subscribe!
Bienvenido a un viaje musical que te llevara a descubrir la historia de una de las bandas que revoluciono el sonido del rock en cuanto a vriaciones clasicas y experimentaciones progresivas respecta. Emerson, Lake & Palmer - Tarkus On this episode, we review the second album by a group whose members were in The Nice, King Crimson and The Crazy World Of Arthur Brown. Special thanks go to Niamh The Prog Nerd. When she was asked what album would be good to review, she mentioned this one. She has a really cool YouTube channel. Our tracks of the week are Yes’ “Starship Trooper” and Mind Garage’s “Ruby Rose.” We conclude the episode with Lee’s song “Swedish Homecoming.” Take care, everyone. Cheers!
In this episode, we are talking about a hugely successful band of the seventies which has often been mired in controversy, not due to any of their members' illegal transgressions or rowdy behaviour but rather due to the music they played. In spite of the crowds around the world hanging on their every note, the critics often dismissed them as pompous and pretentious. Many would go even so far as to cite them as the primary reason why punk broke out as a visceral reaction to rock music becoming elitist. However, we want to give you a different perspective on Emerson, Lake and Palmer, a band that at least one of our co-hosts is crazy about and would go to hell and back to defend even if he concedes that some of the criticism was warranted. At the end of the day, there is a reason why the seventies prog rock still lives on in the hearts of so many rock aficionados.
In this episode we chat about the self titled debut album by supergroup Emerson Lake and Palmer, Diana Ross Greatest Hits and 10 years gone by John Mayall. --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/reviewsfromthecrawlspace/message

H *e will dive and discover with us and the German author and musician Bernd Franco Hoffmann into the unknown and exciting deep ocean of the creative mind. In this podcast, Hoffmann and Schlich talk about Hoffmann´s inspiration for his very recent book Sex, Drugs and Symphonies which is supposed to be published in February 2021, from bands like Mötley Crüe, about his time as a music journalist and his embarrassing encounter with Carl Palmer (former Emerson, Lake and Palmer), his experience as co-founder of a pre techno electro-industrial band way back in the 80s and more.* ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ *Schlich is Visual Artist, Film Maker and Ritual Designer, living and loving in West Cork and best known for his Essay about the Cause and Effect of Shamanism, Art and Digital Culture and the video installation Transodin´s Tragedy. He is mainly working in the field of performance, photography, painting, sound, installations, and film. To research our human condition and create artwork from this reflection he is using often the methodology of the digital-shaman as alter ego.* ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- *Hoffmann´s previously unpublished book “Sex, Drugs & Symphonies or The Incredible Story of Adrian, Riggbert & Theyler”, with its mixture of rock history, comedy and thriller, is a unique musical biography that has never existed before. ArTEEtude. West Cork´s first Art, Fashion & Design Podcast by Detlef Schlich.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ YouTube Podcast *ArTEEtude* ( https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCBnOjvvGVETmyPqv-jMCw1g?guided_help_flow=3 ) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ *ArTEEtude is West Cork´s first art, fashion and design podcast created and produced by* Detlef Schlich. H *e will dive and discover with us and the German author and musician Bernd Franco Hoffmann into the unknown and exciting deep ocean of the creative mind. In this podcast, Hoffmann and Schlich talk about Hoffmann´s inspiration for his very recent book Sex, Drugs and Symphonies which is supposed to be published in February 2021, from bands like Mötley Crüe, about his time as a music journalist and his embarrassing encounter with Carl Palmer (former Emerson, Lake and Palmer), his experience as co-founder of a pre techno electro-industrial band way back in the 80s and more.* ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Schlich is Visual Artist, Film Maker and Ritual Designer, living and loving in West Cork and best known for his Essay about the Cause and Effect of Shamanism, Art and Digital Culture and the video installation Transodin´s Tragedy. He is mainly w *orking in the field of performance, photography, painting, sound, installations, and film. To research our human condition and create artwork from this reflection he is using often the methodology of the digital-shaman as alter ego.* ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ *Hoffmann´s previously unpublished book “Sex, Drugs & Symphonies or The Incredible Story of Adrian, Riggbert & Theyler”, with its mixture of rock history, comedy and thriller, is a unique musical biography that has never existed before. On their odyssey through thirty years of real music and contemporary history, the three musicians meet historical personalities such as Romy Schneider, Elena Ceaușescu and Charlie Chaplin.* ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ ** -- *In 1983 Hoffmann (synth, tapes) founded with Guido Kopp (synth, tapes) the electronic industrial band SEKTOR, based in Cologne. We continue our look into decades of music and the '70s are simply SUPER! Barely scratching the surface on how amazing the music was during these 10 years, the guys try to cover as much as they can by including an extra song each on the playlist. The '70's saw rock take over stadiums, disco in the night clubs, and the birth of Metal and Punk, just to name a few. Stay tuned for the '70's sequel as there is so much more to explore and get ready for next week as some of the acts from this decade were launched only to become megastars in the '80's.Todays Voodoo Ranger Drinking Game Word of the Episode - "Disco"Full Playlist Here:Follow Pinch Recording on Instagram:Pinch RecordingE Scott LindnerNick "The Ear" Angeloor visit us atwww.pinchrecording.comwww.escottlindner.comwww.paperhousenetwork.com

Welcome to Live From Progzilla Towers Edition 282. In this edition we heard music by Emerson Lake And Palmer, Avantasia, Joost Maglev, Cathederal, Zio, Devin Townsend, Fernando Perdomo, Steeleye Span, Scott Walker, Leafblade, Mellotronanism, Kraftwerk, Greenslade, The Tangent, Mostly Autumn, The Mute Gods, The Far Meadow & The Walker Brothers.
In Prog John’s first go-around as host, the Discord and Rhyme crew (John, Amanda, Mike, and Dan) turn their attention to the debut album of Emerson, Lake & Palmer, an album and band that everyone in this episode agrees is far better than consensus critical opinion would suggest. John offers a spirited defense not only of the band and this album, but also of prog rock in general as well as of one of his favorite classical composers, the 20th-century Hungarian composer Bela Bartok (Mike agrees wholeheartedly with John’s Bartok love, while Amanda is far more ambivalent). This podcast offers deep dives into each of this album’s six tracks (the 12:27 “Take a Pebble” is discussed over six parts), as well as close examination of the band’s roots and influences, collectively and individually. We can practically guarantee that this will be the only podcast you ever hear that contains excerpts from ELP, the Vince Guaraldi Trio, a Bach keyboard suite, and, somehow, the Japanese anime “Cowboy Bebop.” See complete show notes on our website.

From this episode… What is probably the best known song of the band Emerson, Lake and Palmer, ‘Lucky Man' contains one of the most influential and early uses of the Moog Synthesizer. This song almost didn’t happen, on the last day of recording their first album, the group did not have enough material to finish the minimum content required by their contract. In a last ditch effort, Greg Lake brought up this song to bring the total side B time on the LP to 21 minutes. Click to listen http://www.lyricsundercover.com/audio/LU-349.mp3 Like what you hear?
