GUEST 1 OVERVIEW: Congressman Randy Weber is a public servant, proven conservative, former small business owner, and third-generation Texan representing the 14th District of Texas. In Congress, he serves on the House Energy and Commerce Committee, which has the broadest jurisdiction of any legislative committee in Congress. Weber also serves on the Science Space and Technology. For over 70 years, Randy Weber has called the Gulf Coast home - a place to start a family and build a business. Although juggling work and family takes great amounts of time and effort, Weber makes time to be an active member of his church and community. Weber built his air conditioning company, Weber's Air & Heat, in 1981 from scratch and grew his business by using what his grandfather used to call ‘good old-fashion Texas horse sense and a strong work ethic.' Like others who have successfully moved from business to public service, Weber's real-world experience in the private sector underpins his commitment to lower taxes, his contempt for wasteful spending, and his firm dedication to better schools. Prior to being elected to Congress, Weber served four years in the Texas State House. During his tenure, Weber served on the committees of Environmental Regulation, Public Education, and as Vice Chair of Border and Intergovernmental Affairs. While serving in the Texas House, Randy Weber authored landmark legislation to combat human trafficking and protect women, young girls, and boys - some as young as 12 years old. Weber has lived in a 20-mile radius all his life and has been married to Brenda Weber, a retired schoolteacher, for over 47 years. He is a graduate of Alvin Community College, and holds a Bachelor of Science from the University of Houston at Clear Lake. Randy and Brenda have three children and eight wonderful grandchildren. He previously served on the House Foreign Affairs and Transportation and Infrastructure Committee. GUEST OVERVIEW: Andrew Loposser is the President of APL consulting, Creator of The Political Playbook Substack. With nearly two decades of hands-on experience, Andrew has become a go-to expert in the realm of political campaigning, working closely with candidates across local, state, and federal levels. His journey has seen him collaborate with dozens of candidates, building a network rich with respected party leaders and dedicated activists. In Virginia's political scene, Andrew's influence is unmistakable. He proudly serves as Virginia's 8th Congressional District GOP Chairman and is the man behind 'The Political Playbook,' a weekly Substack publication that offers a deep dive into the nuances of the political world.

Rep. Dean Phillips is a third-term Democratic Congressman from Minnesota's 3rd District and is running for president against Joe Biden. He serves on the House Foreign Affairs and Small Business Committees, and the Subcommittee on the Middle East, North Africa and Central Asia. Known for his bipartisan approach to governing, he is a current member of the House Problem Solvers Caucus and served as vice chair. We discuss his childhood and background, his early inspirations, his business success, his decision to enter politics in 2018, and why he's decided to take on Biden in an unorthodox primary bid against an incumbent president. What You Need to Know is that there was a hearing at the House Foreign Affairs committee, in which Chairman McCaul brought up the importance of the Monroe Doctrine and its bicentennial. I was on Bannon's War Room a couple of days ago discussing the continuing importance of the Monroe Doctrine. Many are coming to me and discussing the importance of the Monroe Doctrine. The American people are understanding how important the Monroe Doctrine is for America First. Keep celebrating, and keep spreading the message! Sgt. Betsy Brantner Smith (Ret.), spokeswoman for the National Police Association, joins Ed to discuss New York City's plans to cancel the next five Police Academy classes. As high crime rates continue and the migrant crisis worsens, this is certainly not the time for New York City to be cutting the budget on its police force. Sgt. Smith gives a detailed account of the state of policing in New York City. John Zadrozny, Chief Investigator at America First Legal, joins Ed to talk about the recent House hearing on the border crisis. The America First Legal team did a fantastic job of demonstrating to Congress what a safe and effective immigration system should look like. Ed and Zadrozny also discuss the dynamics of public hearings, and how this may be motivating Hunter Biden. Two weeks into Israel's bloody war with Hamas, the death toll continues to mount, and amidst the rubble of bombed-out buildings, one thing seems clear: things are far from over. On the GZERO World podcast, Ian Bremmer asks what role the US government should play in the conflict, and whether that role is as clear-cut today as it was after the attack on October 7. President Biden made a politically and personally dangerous trip to Israel this week, showing solidarity for America's closest ally in the Middle East. But the administration must walk a fine line between supporting Israel's right to defend itself and preventing the humanitarian crisis in Gaza from spiraling out of control. To get the view from both sides of the aisle on Capitol Hill, Ian speaks first with Senator Chris Murphy, the Connecticut Democrat who sits on the Senate Foreign Relations committee, and then with Republican Representative Mike Waltz of Florida, a member of the House Foreign Affairs committee. It's a particularly timely moment to be on Capitol Hill, as House Republicans remain paralyzed over their inability to pick a Speaker. Senator Murphy and Congressman Waltz both comment on what toll that dysfunction is taking on US national security.

Mr. Janusz Bugajski will discuss the state of Russia today and the consequences a failed Russian state may have on the world. About the Lecture: The Russian Federation is a failed state. It has proved unable to transform itself into a nation-state, a civic state, or a stable imperial state. Moscow's full-scale invasion of Ukraine has accelerated the process of state rupture through economic decline, falling revenues, elite conflicts, military incompetence, and regional and ethnic disquiet. Russia confronts an existential paradox. Without economic reform and regional autonomy, the federal structure will become increasingly unmanageable. But even if democratic reforms are undertaken by a weakening central state several regions can exploit the opportunity to secede. The prospects for violent internal conflicts substantially increase if reforms are indefinitely blocked. Growing fractures in the Russian Federation will also have a major impact on all neighboring countries for which Western policymakers are not prepared. About the Speaker: Mr. Janusz Bugajski is a Senior Fellow at the Jamestown Foundation in Washington DC and host of television shows broadcast in the Balkans. Bugajski has authored 21 books on Europe, Russia, and trans-Atlantic relations. His recent books include Failed State: A Guide to Russia's Rupture (2022), Eurasian Disunion: Russia's Vulnerable Flanks (with Margarita Assenova) (2016); and Conflict Zones: North Caucasus and Western Balkans Compared(2014). His forthcoming book is titled Pivotal Poland: Europe's Rising Strategic Player. He is a contributor to several media outlets in the US and Europe and has testified before a number of US congressional committees including: the Helsinki Commission, Senate Foreign Relations, Senate Armed Services, House Foreign Affairs, and House Defense Appropriations. ***Learn more about IWP graduate programs: https://www.iwp.edu/academic-programs/ ***Make a gift to IWP: https://interland3.donorperfect.net/weblink/WebLink.aspx?name=E231090&id=18

On Thursday's Mark Levin Show, WREC radio host Ben Ferguson fills in for Mark. Hunter Biden and his attorneys have admitted the laptop from hell belongs to him, and now they want anyone sharing the contents of the laptop to go to jail. The media is also covering for President Biden and trying to change the narrative as well, lying about there being no incriminating evidence tied to Joe and the entire Biden crime family. The White House is claiming there is no there there, and zero evidence of any wrongdoing of the President on Hunter's laptop, just as House Republicans are beginning to ramp up their investigation. Also, Ilhan Omar is claiming she was kicked off of the House Foreign Affairs committee because she is an immigrant. Alexandria Ocasio Cortez threw a tantrum on the House floor, slamming her notebook and whining about Republicans targeting women of color. We have real problems in this country and they continue to play the race and gender cards because that's all they have left. It is clear that Omar cannot be trusted and belongs nowhere near any House committee. Later, Senator Ted Cruz calls in to discuss the illegal Chinese abduction and detention of American citizen Mark Swidan. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit podcastchoices.com/adchoices

The House committees. Last week, House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) formally removed Reps. Adam Schiff (D-CA) and Eric Swalwell (D-CA) from the Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence (commonly known as the House Intelligence Committee). Lawmakers and Americans alike are still reeling from the chaotic withdrawal from Afghanistan, a process that cost 13 U.S. service members their lives and left many Americans and allies behind under Taliban rule. While the administration accomplished its mission of pulling U.S. troops out of Afghanistan by August 31st, the evacuation missions that followed drew heavy criticism. Secretary of State Antony Blinken is expected to testify before the House Foreign Affairs and Senate Foreign Relations committees next week to answer questions about the process and results of the Afghanistan withdrawal. Republican Senator Rick Scott of Florida joins to explain why he is pushing for a formal investigation into how the pullout of Afghanistan went so wrong and his lack of confidence in President Biden's decision-making. The Delta variant of COVID-19 has proven to be an especially contagious strain of coronavirus, infecting Americans throughout the country as we approach 1,500 COVID-19 deaths per day. Later this week, President Biden is set to give a press conference addressing the drastic shift the U.S. is seeing on COVID-19 and is expected to lay out the next phase of the nation's pandemic response. With fall approaching, Professor of Surgery and Health Policy at Johns Hopkins and Fox News Medical Contributor, Dr. Marty Makary joins to break down how the Delta became the dominant COVID-19 variant, why studies are showing that vaccines provide more immunity if administered over a longer period of time, which Americans will need a COVID booster and the facts surrounding the controversial antiparasitic drug Ivermectin. Republican leaders are objecting to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's draft mandate of a commission to look into the January 6 insurrection on Capitol Hill. Republican Senate minority leader Mitch McConnell called Pelosi's idea of setting up a 9-11 style commission “partisan by design” and said the commission should be equally composed of Democrats and Republicans. Pelosi's plan provides for 7 Democratic and 4 Republican Commissioners. McConnell also argued that in looking at violent extremism, the Commission should examine "the full scope of the political violence problem in this country” —a thinly-veiled reference to the nationwide Black Lives Matter protests last summer. So far, over 280 people have been arrested and charged in connection with the failed insurrection. Meanwhile, as 5000 National Guards remain deployed around the Capitol to ward off possible violence on March 4th, the newly-confirmed Attorney General, Merrick Garland, told the Senate Judiciary Committee, that he will do “everything in the power of the Justice Department” to stop domestic violent extremism. He added that the Jan 6 events were linked to a movement that poses an existential threat to the United States. Guests: Ilhan Omar US Representative from Minnesota (D), Whip of the Congressional Progressive Caucus and Vice Chair of the House Foreign Affairs subcommittee on Africa. Michael Jensen Senior Researcher at the National Consortium for the Study of Terrorism and Responses to Terrorism (START) at the University of Maryland.

Democrats are moving forward with their impeachment inquiry into President Trump. Three committees - the House Foreign Affairs, Intelligence and Oversight - have scheduled depositions for this week and subpoenaed more documents regarding the president's dealings with Ukraine. Former independent counsel Ken Starr gives his take on the impeachment inquiry and explains why he thinks it's not a good move for our country. A true health scare or hysteria? An apparent outbreak of illnesses and even deaths reportedly being linked to vaping has caused a nationwide crackdown. Midday host Tom Hall began the Friday Midday on Music show with this update about an important development in the impeachment inquiry into President Donald Trump. ----A brief word on the latest revelations in the impeachment inquiry. Last night, the House Foreign Affairs, Oversight and Intelligence Committees released text messages between diplomats related to President Trump’s posture towards Ukraine. The exchanges between Special Envoy Kurt Volker and several others were released after Volker testified for nearly 10 hours behind closed doors yesterday. The messages, from late July, August and September, indicate that President Trump was unwilling to meet with President Zelensky of Ukraine unless Zelensky agreed, in writing, to investigate Hunter Biden’s involvement with a Ukrainian oil company. Democrats point to this as an illegal effort to leverage the office of the President for personal gain. So far, Republican reaction is that the text messages exonerate the President. Before leaving the White House for a trip to Florida ysterday, the President urged China to investigate the Bidens as well. And this reminder: last June, Ellen Weintraub, the Chair of the Federal Election Commission issued a statement that said in part, “It is illegal for any person to solicit, accept, or receive anything of value from a foreign national in connection with a US election.” Weintraub Tweeted her statement yesterday with the comment: ----I would not have thought that I needed to say this.----Today, Congress hears from Michael Atkinson, the Intelligence Community Inspector General. And one last item: the Whistleblower’s complaint about the President and Ukraine isn’t the only such complaint in play in the nation’s capital. The Washington Post is reporting that an official with the IRS has expressed concerns about a political appointee at the Treasury Department attempting to interfere with the annual audit of the president and the vice president’s tax returns. And oh, BTW, the unemployment rate has fallen to the lowest level in 50 years.
Host Carol Castiel sits down with Congresswoman Abigail Spanberger, a freshman Democrat from the state of Virginia to discuss a range of domestic and foreign policy issues. A former CIA case officer, Spanberger captured a seat previously held by a Republican for over 38 years. Spanberger, who sits on the House Foreign Affairs and Agriculture committees, discussed her views on immigration reform; climate change; the US-China trade war, including the imposition of tariffs and their effect on US farmers; America's role in the world; the US - North Korea summit in Hanoi; the crisis in Venezuela; intra-party tensions among Democrats and the need for bipartisan legislation.
