Andrea Kelly is a comic, actor, producer, manager, and one of Bill's oldest friends in Los Angeles. By that, we mean he's known her for almost 15 years, about the same amount of time he's been doing comedy. Andrea first met Bill when she was working as Jamie Masada's assistant, then as a manager for Laugh Factory Management, which has since been dissolved. After getting fired for making unintentionally doxxing half the comedy community, Andrea began a new path as a comic herself, which has since led to producing films with Paul Sorvino, Michael Rapaport, Chazz Palmentieri, until finally going back to her roots as a stage actress, where she is currently performing at the Beverly Playhouse. Andrea's story is interesting and inspiring, and PERFECT for the NEW YEAR -- a testament to the fact that you can always start over- and that you have the rest of the life to figure out what you're doing.....ENJOY! --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/the-after-laugh/support

Forgive Jamie's microphone. He was talking with lots of acting out so he moves it a lot. Also, after 36 years in Los Angeles, he still has a thick Iranian accent. I've known Jamie Masada, the owner of the Laugh Factory for about 17 years. This is the man who told me that he didn't see me making it for another 6 years and crushed my dreams early in my stand-up career. He's done it to a lot of people. But he's usually right. He knows what's funny. Hear the story of a teenage immigrant from Iran who has risen from nothing to a major player in the Hollywood community. 347 Steps launched in the fall of 2007. The show originally was recorded in a 1920s-era, one-car garage. The cramped confines and lack of insulation led to numerous comedic discussions. During the winter of 2007-08, cast and guests found themselves bundled up in ski jackets and blankets as the nighttime temperature dropped into the 40s. In the summer of 2008, the show relocated its recording sessions across town to another garage, but one that had been converted into a tiki bar. Before moving into the tiki bar, listeners were given regular updates on the progress of building it. Many of the guests have been people with interesting side projects to their daily jobs. Some of the local guests have included a library assistant whos making a documentary film about local music, an engineer who works at Comic-Con International, and a park ranger who creates art projects,a pirate radio DJ, a paramedic, and a guy who sells surveillance equipment to foreign countries. 347Steps have also had on Actor/Producer Tim Reid, Comedian and friend of Sinatra, Tom Dreesen, Actor Tanna Frederick, Authors Sherri Devereau, Matthew O'Brien, The Laugh Factory's Jamie Masada. 347 Steps is available free to the public via its own web site as well as iTunes.
