Weird Darkness: Stories of the Paranormal, Supernatural, Legends, Lore, Mysterious, Macabre, Unsolved

IN THIS EPISODE: In the book of Acts Paul speaks to the early church—and to us—about cults. Cults will not only come, they are already here – and have been all along in some way, shape, or form. They existed then, they exit now, they will exist in the future until the Lord does away with evil once and for all… but that's a topic for another day. The really dangerous part about cults is how attractive they can be to even the most intelligent among us, even those of us who profess Christ as our savior can be lured in if we're not careful. Cults, in all of their forms, draw us away from the truth. So it's important to recognize one when you see it.Hear previous messages and find our social media at https://WeirdDarkness.com/Church! Inspired by an unforgettable first date with her now-husband, Scott founded Cobble as what she refers to as a “decision-making app,” helping couples and groups of friends more efficiently decide how to spend their time together. Managed by a group of curators, Cobble not only allows groups to select and vote on what to do but also helps aid said groups in making the necessary preparation and reservations to go through with those plans. Although the app is limited to a handful of cities across the country, Cobble has already accumulated over 40,000 users, actively working to expand their service into more major cities. How do we keep our teens safe from sexting and sextortion? More importantly, how can our kids recover from the utter humiliation and shame when a sext has been shared around school, or a teen has been exploited by a predator? Parents need to know about the rise in cases of online child/teen “sextortion” in which adult predators posing as minors on social media and gaming networks essentially trick kids into sending them explicit images and then turn around to threaten them with exposure if they don't pay.  According to the FBI, which recently issued a rare public safety alert to parents about this alarming trend, there were 18,000 reported cases of child sextortion last year alone.   Despite the subject matter, this is an uplifting and comforting episode that focuses on protecting our teens and how teens can recover when they've been exploited. Our guest today is Jennifer Kelman - Jennifer Kelman is a mental health expert on JustAnswer, where she has provided online support to those in need since 2012. In addition to her work on JustAnswer, Kelman has been a Licensed Clinical Social Worker for more than 30 years and maintains a private practice specializing in relationships, parenting, and children's mental health issues. O'Dell, who has more than 25 years of automotive repair industry experience, is our guest this week on The Weekly Driver podcast. Car Repair Needs? Answers Online Co-hosts Bruce Aldrich and James Raia discuss with Marc how JustAnswer.com works and how he's used his expertise to help customers. "It just kind of depends on who you are speaking with and what you are talking about," says O'Dell about how he balances his answers between a lay person and an expert seeking his expertise. "If it's a dealer technician who has specific measurements and specifications ready to go. With that type of stuff you need to be really technical. But dealing with the general public, looking for answers to general questions, like how can I make this work better, you don't need to be so technical." Marc O'Dell of JustAnswer.com assists customers with their car repair problems. O'Dell, who works at the dealer and corporate levels with Ford and Chrysler, has helped consumers with mechanical and electrical repair as well as communications and engine performance issues for all domestic and most foreign vehicles. Car Issues? Let JustAnswer.com Help "I've been a getting quite a range of questions lately," O'Dell says. "They've ranged from different maintenance tips to diagnostic questions or how do I test the wiring. "A lot of people are asking how they can get better fuel mileage and what they can do to save gas and money. A lot of questions are also about maintenance and people trying to make sure their car is well-maintained." JustAnswer.com, founded in 2003, has more than12,000 experts across 150 categories.
