Scammers impersonate Best Buy, Geek Squad, Amazon, and PayPal brands more than any others, a new analysis by the Federal Trade Commission, or FTC, has revealed. In analyzing complaints submitted by consumers during 2023, the government consumer protection agency found that it received around 52,000 reports – or 1000 per week – of scammers impersonating the Best Buy or Geek Squad brands. Consumers lost $15 million to those scams, but took even more – $60 million – in around 7000 scams impersonating Microsoft, and $49 million in scams where they pretended to be from Publishers Clearing House. The other most frequently copied companies included NortonLifelock, Apple, ComcastXFinity, Bank of America, and Wells Fargo. If you receive messages purporting to be from any of these organizations demanding cryptocurrency, transfers via PayPal, CashApp, or Zelle; gift cards from the likes of Apple and Target; or any other unexpected request; treat it as a scam until you can very independently on the company's correct website. Ondřej Vlček už je rok a půl prezidentem společnosti Gen Digital. Kyberbezpečnostní kolos vznikl spojením českého Avastu a americké firmy NortonLifeLock.

While it may not have happened to you yet, your personal information could be exposed in a number of ways – whether it be via a data breach, losing a device, or simply browsing the wrong website. NortonLifeLock mitigates that risk in three easy steps: scanning the web for the use of personal information, alerting users to possible threats, and working to resolve identity theft issues from start to finish.

Agenda. Rozhovory s top lídry českého byznysu, zakladateli firem, odborníky. If you're planning on doing your Christmas shopping online this year, you might want to be careful what you click on. New cyber safety research shows a quarter of people shopping online in New Zealand take more risks when buying online, losing an average of $500. The report says common scams are via anonymous sellers and ads. Cyber security organisation NortonLifeLock managing director Mark Gorrie spoke to Corin Dann.
Kim Allman from NortonLifeLock, and Carrie Neil from the National PTA, sit down with Dave to discuss the Smart Talk 2.0 tool. Joe and Dave share some follow up on an exciting new position Joe has accepted as the Director of Cyber Science at a company called Harbor Labs. This week, Joe's story comes from listener Beau, who writes in about an ATM scam he fell victim to, sharing how the scammers were spamming his phone with texts, emails, and calls before he figured out what was going on. Dave's story follows the growing new trend of overworking, or having two remote jobs at once and working at both. One company's CEO calls it a form of theft and deception. Our catch of the day comes from listener Rodney who writes in, sharing about his son's girlfriend who is looking for work and received an email pointing her in the direction of a new prospect. Sadly, Rodney had to share the news that the email seemed to be a scam. If you've ever struggled to grow a following, this episode is for you. Tom, Sam, and Shannon chat with Carla Meyer, Director of Social Media, Content, and Influencers at NortonLifeLock to download all of her growth hacking secrets from her many successes throughout her career. Listen in to find out how she leveraged “mommy bloggers” as the original influencers before Instagram was even a thing; channeled the power of UGC and brand ambassadors to grow Garmin's social media from just her and an intern to a 12-person multi-million dollar budget initiative (“show me where your watch is”), and turned Logitech's social feeds into the ultimate Work From Home content hub. Tom and Shannon also talk to Carla about how brands can best work with agencies, where to find inspiration online, and most importantly, how to keep having fun. We're sure you'll agree: Carla's storied career proves you don't need to be a digital native to own social media; you just have to be paying close attention. And if you're an adult male, let us know — would you be more ashamed to admit going to a Justin Beiber concert or Coldplay? A Marketing Podcast With No Name is produced at kglobal studios in Washington DC and is hosted by Tom Frank, Shannon Powers and Sam Santarelli.
