Christmas may be looming but the news just keeps on coming! In this festive video special edition of Energy Voice Out Loud Ryan discusses CCS permits, Erikka tackles North Sea shenanigans and Mat chats about Bernard Looney's return to energy. The week saw the NSTA grant a UK first CCS permit that will allow the infastructure to be installed at the East Coast Cluster. This came about as the Northern Endurance Partnership made a final investment decision on the Tack 1 winning carbon storage development. Erikka had one hell of a morning rounding up Serica's acquisition of Parkmead assets, “serious misconduct”'s farm down of its Earlham and Orwell developments and Connaught selling out of UK gas field to Reabold. One thing's for certain, the UK North Sea is going to be a much different beast in 2025. Finally, Mat has been looking into former BP CEO Bernard Looney's return to energy as he was appointed to the board of board of ADNOC subsidiary XRG. Looney left BP amid scandal involving personal relationships with with colleagues and misleading the company's board but is set to make a return following his appointment to a tech firm earlier in the year.
This week on the Worn & Wound podcast, Zach Kazand and Kat Shouldes talk with Jérôme Burgert and Gabriel Vachette, the co-founders of Serica. The French indie watch brand is celebrating a five year anniversary, and they've just released the Parade, easily their most ambitious watch to date. The ultra refined dress watch is, on the surface, a fairly dramatic departure from the brand's elegant but sporty tool watches. But once you start digging into the details and hear the story behind the watch, you begin to realize that it's actually squarely in the Serica wheelhouse after all. In this conversation, Jérôme and Gabriel speak frankly about the design process and the challenges they faced bringing the Parade to life, and discuss why watches like this appeal to them in the first place.Today's episode is sponsored by DIY Watch Club.
In this episode we discuss a fairly new but already accomplished brand, Serica. Today we talk about how as enthusiasts we often are judgmental not only about watches but also the intent behind the decisions that make them. Is it likely that watch designers just don't care about certain aspects of the watch design, or is it more likely that there are other priorities at play? We are also borrowing three watches right now that we will talk about soon.
Fratello On Air returns with a talkative episode. Balazs and Mike cover a lot of ground. Some of it is watch-related while some of it is not! We discuss the recent cranky comments on our site and ultimately spend a few minutes on our "grab and go" Summer favorites. There's a bit of Citizen headed your way. Enjoy this meandering episode.Yes, Summer is in full swing and Balazs is sweating it out in Hungary. Mike is staying relatively cool in Germany. Our readers, however, seem a bit hot and bothered! Maybe some inexpensive Citizen dive watches will help assuage sore feelings.Handgelenks KontrolleWhen it comes to the handgelenks kontrolle, Balazs is wearing his tried and true MoonSwatch Mars! This one is super lightweight, which helps beat the heat. Mike has also gone with a bantamweight in the Breitling SuperOcean 57. However, he has taken it off of the mesh for the first time and put on an inexpensive green canvas strap. Comfy!Loads of other topics including CitizenWe hit on loads of topics today. Adidas Stan Smith shoes, Oakley sunglasses, and Swatch watches and sunglasses are just some of the fun. Then we talk about a recent Strap Check article where Mike paired his Tudor Black Bay Fifty-Eight 925 with the Forstner Model J. Our readers weren't fans! Then, we discuss the polarizing new Breitling SuperOcean and third-party movements in general. The Serica 5303 also comes up and Mike is interested! Finally, we discuss some of our favorite easy Summer watches. Balazs mentioned the new Citizen JP2007-17W Aqualand with an all-lume dial. Mike mentions his Promaster Tough "Ray Mears" and BN0220 diver. Enjoy!
This week on the Worn & Wound podcast, Blake, Kat, and Thomas get on the mic to discuss some recent Worn & Wound content, a bunch of great new releases, and other odds and ends. From Thomas's recent Out of Office column to Kat's Three for $5k, plus watches from the likes of Serica, Furlan Marri, and, oh yeah, Seiko, there's a lot to cover. And somehow there's still time to talk about the finer points of domed crystals. This week on the podcast, Blake Buettner and Thomas Calara welcome Hodinkee's Danny Milton to the show. Danny joined the team at Hodinkee in 2020 (literally the week NYC shut down thanks to the pandemic) and has quickly established himself on the site with his unique, down to earth voice, writing about everything from the watches of Space Jam, to his own relationship with two-tone Rolex, to even more watches of Space Jam. In this episode, Danny talks about how he came to join the team at Hodinkee, his watch journey, and his thoughts on the watch landscape as it stands today. This week on the Worn & Wound podcast, we're looking ahead to 2022, and talking about what we want to see more of from our favorite brands (and the industry as a whole) in the new year. Will brands like Tudor move from 2021's niche releases (they really made a silver dive watch last year, people) to a more mass market approach? What are we about to see from IWC in 2022? Is this the year of the dress watch? All will be revealed in time, but for now give a listen to this week's episode, and let us know what you expect from 2022 in the comments below, or on Instagram. This week on the podcast, Blake Buettner, Zach Kazan, and Thomas Calara hit the mic to run through your favorite watch releases of the year. We asked listeners to tell us which watches spoke to them over the course of 2021, and you came through with a ton of great responses, jogging our memory to recall watches we may have forgotten during an uncommonly busy year. We cover everything from the new Moon Watch, to the many Tudor releases this year (in seemingly every metal but steel), as well as new watches from some of our favorite small brands, Baltic and Farer among them. If we missed anything (we definitely missed something) drop us a comment here or on Instagram, and let us know what your favorite releases of 2021 were, now that the year is nearly in the rearview. We'll be back with a new episode soon to cover our own favorites from the past year, so watch out for that in the weeks ahead. To stay on top of all new episodes, you can subscribe to The Worn & Wound Podcast — now available on all major platforms including iTunes, Google Play, Stitcher, Soundcloud, Spotify, and more. TESTO DELL'ARTICOLO ➜ http://www.bastabugie.it/it/articoli.php?id=6772LA PRIMA EPIDEMIA DELLA STORIA VENNE DALLA CINA di Rino CammilleriOrmai siamo abituati all'influenza stagionale che, a ogni inverno, ci costa problemi all'economia e perfino morti. L'avevano presa in Partia. Incappata in banditi o pirati? Ci ricorda niente?
In this episode Niko talks Serica watches with the founder of Serica Watches - Jérôme Burgert. Serica is currently one of the hottest watch brand on the market! Their Field 3512 model and Diver 5303 model are undoubtedly becoming signature pieces that are easily recognisable in the ocean of saturated watch market! Serica philosophy seem simple yet a recipe for success! Namely… pleasing, fairly simple but quietly sophisticated case aesthetics combined with extreme ruggedness and uncompromising reliability!
This week on the podcast, we're happy to be joined by Jerome Burgert, one of the founders of a brand we've become big fans of at Worn & Wound, Serica Watches. Serica appeared on the watch scene in 2019 with the W.W.W. watch, a tribute to classic military watches like the original “Dirty Dozen” series. They followed that up a year later with the 4512, and have just launched their first dive watch, the 5303 (reviewed recently right here by Zach Weiss). Serica is remarkable for developing a crystal clear design language in a very short period of time, and this conversation reveals how carefully considered all the small details in these watches really are. Jerome takes us through the ins and outs of launching his brand, where he hopes to see Serica go in the future, and the concept behind 5303. We also talk with him about how he transitioned from being in the watch media to making his own watches, and how that informs his perspective as a brand owner. To stay on top of all new episodes, you can subscribe to The Worn & Wound Podcast — now available on all major platforms including iTunes, Google Play, Stitcher, Soundcloud, Spotify, and more. For this episode, I sit down with Jerome from Serica Watches to discuss the history of the brand, unique design language and their current catalog. We dive into the depths of story telling in the watch world and the importance of wearability when it comes to designing a piece. This is a terrific episode and the opportunity to learn about a unique brand! Check out Serica Watches here: https://www.serica-watches.com/
In the sixth episode of Westwood's Energy Transition Now podcasts, David Linden speaks with Clara Altobell, VP ESG and Business Innovation, Serica Energy.During the discussion, Clara explains the importance in having an Environment, Social and Governance (ESG) lens to understand a company's place in the Energy Transition, and the practical implications this has on corporate strategy, investment and everyday decision making. Clara also discusses some of the key issues facing Serica and oil and gas companies, including how to manage the UK's twin goals of maximising economic recovery and achieving net-zero, and the role that carbon pricing mechanisms such as the EU / UK Emissions Trading Scheme (ETS) play in bringing about change in the sector. She also talks about her own ESG journey and the lessons learnt along the way.More information at:https://www.westwoodenergy.com/news/video-podcasts/energy-transition-now-podcast-episode-6-with-clara-altobell

This week on the Worn & Wound podcast, Zach Weiss, Blake Buettner, and Zach Kazan take a look at some of the most interesting new releases we've seen since the Watches & Wonders fair. In this new post-Baselworld era, we're quickly learning that big trade shows won't be the only time brands unveil new products, and both large and small watchmakers have introduced a variety of interesting pieces in the short time since Watches & Wonders closed. We thought this was as good a time as any to take stock of some of those new releases, including some cocktail inspired watches by Bell & Ross (released in collaboration with The Rake and Revolution) and a surprise new release from Ming and Massena Lab (on sale tomorrow, May 20 at 10:30am EST), only at Massena Lab's website. There's also (of course) a new green watch to discuss, and a follow up to one of our favorite watches from last year by Serica. What are your favorite new releases, from Watches & Wonders and beyond? Be sure to let us know in the comments or on Instagram if we missed anything, and check out links to content we discuss in this episode in the show notes below.
