This one has it all: stolen wooden legs, sandy bottoms, and plenty of 'Drawing Room Safe' terminology that is very likely to make you giggle! Rok 1982. W kraju bieda, terror i smutek. Mimo to środowisko wodniaków co jakiś czas urządza mniejsze lub większe koncerty piosenki żeglarskiej i szant. Ba już mamy za sobą pierwszą, jeszcze nieśmiałą edycję Festiwalu Shanties w Krakowie. A szanta w tych czasach to naprawdę egzotyczne słowo. Od kilkunastu miesięcy nie działa zespół Refpatent, środowisko żeglarskie jeszcze nie wie, że czeka na jego reinkarnację pod szyldem Cztery Refy. Coraz aktywniej na scenie poczynają sobie Jerzy Porębski, Ryszard Muzaj, Mirosław Peszkowski i Marek Szurawski, jeszcze nie wiedzą że za młodu zostaną Starymi Dzwonami, na własne życzenie. Na wiosnę 1982 roku w katowickim Teatrze Ateneum organizowany jest koncert z udziałem Witolda Zamojskiego, dziś już legendy i wspomnianego kwartetu. Katowiczanom podoba się, postanawiają zorganizować cykliczną imprezę i tak w listopadzie 1983 w teatrze Młodego Widza na Koszutce odbywa się pierwsza edycja Festiwalu Tratwa. Tak, to już 40 lat. Na festiwalu pojawia się grupa młodzieńców. Śpiewają razem od paru miesięcy, pierwszy raz wyszli na scenę pod szyldem Ryczące Dwudziestki, zaśpiewali między innymi „Hiszpańskie dziewczyny” i zdobyli III nagrodę. A potem było coraz lepiej. I tak śpiewają od czterdziestu lat. Za parę dni 12 listopada będą obchodzili swoje czterdziestolecie właśnie na kolejnej edycji Festiwalu Tratwa. No właśnie za parę dni, a few days. Zatem dziś opowieść o jednej z najpopularniejszych piosenkę zespołu, „Few Days” właśnie. Sprawa nie taka prosta. Pojawiła się niespodziewanie w 1854 roku w kilku publikacjach naraz, i to w kilku odmiennych wersjach tekstowych. Badacze folkloru, szperacze i zbieracze piosenek do dziś się zastanawiają, i dyskutują która z wersji była pierwsza. Ciekawostką jest, że powszechnie uważana, nawet w Stanach Zjednoczonych, za piosenkę górniczą, Few Days piosenką górniczą w swojej istocie nie była. Ale o tym już posłuchajcie w podcaście

Maureen R replied: "St. Patrick's Day is a family day, starting with donuts, then Mass at St. Colman, one of the oldest churches in Cleveland, that for decades had supported a largely Irish immigrant neighborhood. This Mass is the start of the day for the West Side Irish American Club. The dignitaries and club marching units from pipes and drums to tiny pom pom "Bridgies" march into the church with all the regalia of the annual St. Patrick's Day parade. Parts of Mass are read in Irish Gaelic, and familiar Irish songs and readings are shared. The lighting in the church is changed to green uplights and the hall is filled wall to wall with families in Irish sweaters and Irish pride. After Mass and the marching units parade out of the church, everyone heads to downtown Cleveland for the annual St. Patrick's Day parade, one of the largest of its kind in the U.S. and one of the only St. Patrick's Day parades that is always held ON the day. After the parade, families disperse to the many parties all around town. After marching in the parade, I will head off to entertain the crowds with my band, Ballinloch for the last performance of a two week non - stop Irish adventure."

Segelradio Shownotes Lesen im Segelfrühling Die Segelsaison 2022 steht in den Startlöchern. Zeit, den Lesestoff dafür zu besprechen. Nach langer Winterpause trifft sich Hinnerk Weiler dazu wieder mit dem Macher von Literaturboot.de und Segelkrimi-Autor Detlef Jens. Es geht dabei aber nicht nur um die Bücher auf Detlefs Nachttisch oder die neuesten Werke aus der Segelfachbuchecke. Ziel der Literatur-Reihe im Segelradio ist weiterhin Lesenswertes zusammenzutragen, das Lust auf neue Küsten macht, Einblicke in Land und Leute vermittelt und zum Schmökern an verregneten Hafentagen einlädt. Diese Bücher dienen dabei stets auch als Kristallisationspunkte zum Abschweifen in Anekdoten und eigenes Erleben der beschriebenen Reviere oder Geschichten. Während Hinnerk noch hofft, überhaupt bald ins Wasser zu kommen sind die Sommerpläne bei Detlef schon deutlich konkreter. Das Ziel Utsira ist, inspiriert vom Shipping Forecast der BBC, gesetzt Die Bücher in diesem Literatur Segelradio Der Reeds Nautical Almanach „Außer dem Reeds und Seekarten brauchst Du auf See eigentlich nichts“, meint Detlef. Der Revierführer ist eigentlich kein klassisches Werk der Literatur und deckt Häfen, Leuchtfeuer, Tiden und alles nautisch relevante zwischen der Nordspitze Dänemarks und der Küste Marokkos ab. In 2022 feiert das Buch seinen 90. Geburtstag und bereits im Herbst 2021 hatte der Trans-Ocean e.V. die Redaktion für ihren herausragenden Beitrag zur Sportschifffahrt mit dem Ocean Award ausgezeichnet. Ferner Westen Motorradreisen und Segeln gehören eigentlich nicht direkt zusammen. In Ferner Westen beschreibt Autor Paulo Moura allerdings die Küste Portugals und damit eine Region, die auch vielen Seglern durchaus bekannt ist. Das Buch gibt Einblicke in Geschichten hinter den Steilküsten des Atlantiks und führt weit in die Flußmündungen hinauf. Es ist eine Einladung, Portugal auch abseits vom Wasser kennenzulernen. Ein Goldfische und sein Fish Operated Vehicle (FOV) Meine Normandie Dichter an Deutschland als die touristisch beliebte Bretagne lädt die Normandie noch mehr zum Ausruhen ein. Sabine Grimkowski hat hier Lebensgeschichten und Orte zusammengetragen, die Lust aufs Bummeln machen. Allerdings segeln die meisten Schiffe hier eher vorbei, denn die Anfahrten in die Häfen sind oft lang und tidenabhängig. Dabei sind viele von ihnen allein schon Ziel einer Reise wert. Außerdem mündet hier die Seine und lädt zu einer Flussetappe auf dem Weg nach Paris ein. Im Kielwasser des Geldes Ebenfalls eine lange Etappe vom Meer die Elbe hinauf bedeutet die Ansteuerung des Hamburger Hafens. Hier schickt Detlef Jens in seinem neuesten Krimi den Yachtdetektiv Fabian Timpe zu Recherchen in eigener Sache. Im dritten Buch der Reihe dreht sich alles um den Megayachtbau. – Große Summen für große Boote, bei denen immer wieder vermeintlich kleines Geld abfällt und verschwindet. Natürlich kommt auch das Segeln auf kleinen Booten nicht zu kurz und nebenbei nimmt Detlef den Leser immer wieder mit auf die Reise an Bord. Wer Detlef mal persönlich kennenlernen möchte, kann ihn übrigens am 7. Juni 2022 in Flensburg bei einer Autoren-Lesung bei Bücher Rüfer erleben. Der Holländer Klassischer können Krimis kaum aufgebaut werden: Eine Leiche, Polizisten mit Zuständigkeitsproblemen, Sticheleien im Grenzgebiet zwischen Deutschen und Niederländern … Doch anders als bei schnödem Tartortstoff gelingt es dem Autor Mathijs Deen, ausreichend Raum für das Setting der Wattenmeerküste zu lassen. So ist ein Buch zum Schmökern, mit starkem Spannungsbogen entstanden. Er gibt darin einen tiefen Einblick in die Entstehung seiner berühmten Katamaranentwürfe und in die Philosophie hinter diesen, von polynesischen Schiffen inspirierten, Bauweise. Dabei kommt natürlich auch persönliches nicht kurz. Wharram lebte offen polyamor in einer Zeit, bevor das Wort überhaupt gesellschaftsfähig war. Er stieß damit nicht nur in England und Europa oft auf Unverständnis, sein Lebensstil wurde auch symbolhaft mit seinen Booten verbunden. It's finally happened. Chris has worked his final day in the Fire Service. David spent the entire day making sure it was a memorable one. Apparently, the way you take a dying dog to his favorite place before he is euthanized. All kidding aside we visited my station of 17 years, had a great lunch, and a chance to come to terms with leaving.
