Take a glimpse into the dark & twisted lives of the addicts still suffering as well as the ones stumbling off the beaten path back on to the road of recovery.
It's been a long time you guys & I've missed you. I've had a lot of different things on my mind and put aside the planned episode to open up about everything. I also explain what I've been up to for the past month and why I've been away. My 3 years clean date is coming up on April 24th which is the most time I have ever earned before. So there has been a lot I've wanted to get off of my chest and if you're reading this then it would mean the world to me if you could either send your feed back in an email ( NodSquadPodcast@gmail.com ) or on a iTunes / Spotify review. I would greatly appreciate your support and thank you all for everything. I'm really happy to be back.

Happy Halloween squadron, we're back on the most sinful of holidays to finally drop the recording with the one & only Marcus who talks about keeping ones wits about themselves when feeling trapped & extremely uncomfortable in Vegas. Unc also goes into detail about boundary amend hybrids that become disastrous and even a little bit of recovery is thrown in between the two. Unc returns for the beginning of Sober October, Red Blood Moons rising & a call in from Unc's stunningly gorgeous Ex Gf. Carla calls in from a secret hospital in Chicago to trade some of the most gruesome Heroin based war stories ever told on Nod Squad. Not for the faint of heart but an amazing episode none the less. Btw, giveaway is still underway, love you guys.
Finally, Unc reveals the details behind the mystery giveaway he wouldn't shut up about in the past as well as tell a long drawn out recent Labor Day story about chasing down a "criminal" in a highway Hit & Run situation. Anyone interested in sending in a story can email NodSquadPodcast@gmail.com
Happy returns again (back from episode 9) to update Unc on where his mind numbing life has been in recent years. Detailing his latest overdose, escaping conviction via deferment & crawling out of numerous K-holes; Happy also delves into his mindset as to why demons keep following him around like his own shadow. Hope you are well today, love you all. - Unc
Hey guys. Hope you're all enjoying your 4th of July weekend. Here's a story about hiding heroin highs unsuccessfully, ex gf's who give all your friends at the party a lap dance & creative casino craziness. Special announcements detailed within this one brethren so please listen & enjoy.
It's been a while, Unc here. Hope all is well. Regular guest and close friend Michael interviews Unc for a change, asking for the gory detail of Half-Sacks last 12 months. No stone left unturned here but with all the TMI. We hope you understand what our previous situations were. Super excited to get regular release out to you and hope everyone is well.
Greetings brethren, Unc here. I collected all the B-side's that didn't make the cut in the last few episodes. Some tales include psychotic shroom minded murderous dogs, awkward encounters at county jail visitation, etiquette when automobile vomiting & seizing ones own engine for a cute girl. More B-sides to come soon, love you brethren.
Finishing the wrap up of high school tales, Unc is finally back (the lazy fuck) to story tell the party that led to $30,000 in total damages, Fecal Matter in the Jacuzzi left by Crack Baby Carl, A dismantled underground wine cellar, plus the enormous amount of broken glass/holes in walls.
What was High School like for you? For me it was many things, all involving vomit stains, pelvic pains, scabbed knees, probation fees, wu-tang killer bees, stems with seeds; but mostly a crippling stumble down a misguided path in search for self discovery. In that search I accidentally set a enormous fire behind Walmart after drinking Wild Turkey for the first time with my friend's and end up hiding from multiple cop cars in a bush.
Greetings Brethren, Unc returns after a few weeks break to return and deviate away from the last few injections episodes to tell a tale more alcohol induced. Bo Ball Baggins details what it was like working for the Constervation Corps, living on a Military Base for boot camp, and hip thrusting away from order afterwards. Dodging DUI's, piecing together blackouts and sneaking through high security perimeters all ensue in this new episodes return.
Lately we've been continually kicking up old recordings that were once lost in the vault. This episode is no different other than the fact that we buried this recording with the intention of never recovering it. This one dates back years ago during a time Unc was in a dark relapse and using; Kirk comes on via shitty cell phone to catch up and shoot shit concerning his journey after moving out of California to Las Vegas. No other details will be revealed other than the stories are a non stop high speed chase of needles, violence and sorrow. Kirk provides a major glimpse at what the world looks like through the eyes of someone lost with the only direction visible is directly towards using to stay well. Apologies for the triggers, cringe and tragic topics within. Listen at your own risk.
In our most recent excavation, deep in the depths of Unc's hard drive, we uncover a time capsule of old vault recordings. This is the third recording ever made for Nod Squad with Ryan & Brian; who talks about the struggles of getting clean and witnessing the loved ones around him still suffering. Witnessing his newly ex gf show up at his front doorstep dopesick and in a mean psychosis, shooting meth yet still nodding out, and stranded his driveway. Unc also recalls swallowing dope to avoid arrest then to fishhook in the toilet in an attempt to puke up enough dope to inject. This was a very unique and special time, almost lost in the midst of files scattered on the most unorganized Hard Drive ever.
Today we rejoice, socially distant of course, in celebration of Unc's glorious day birthed on today's episode of Nod Squad. Unc himself crawls out of his crawl space to reminisce an era of his life which all encompass overall themes of the dark & tragic experiences that one will always encounter eventually when over indulging on copious amounts of substances. most of these stories contain scenes that we are too uncomfortable to detail in even this description itself. These are the things that one tries not to think about experiencing during times that neglecting reality itself becomes utterly impossible. Traumatic events which occur especially when only the innocent consumption of drugs are the main objective. Hopefully the recording will draw you in instead of the vague description we provide today. Please wish Unc a Happy Birthday and if possible please leave a iTunes review as a B-Day present for this old timer before he has to get hip replacement surgery.
Merry Christmas brethren, we hope your holiday season brings as much happiness humanly possible during these turbulent times. Unc comes back to talk tales involving ripping off drug dealers, the repercussions that always emerges after, psycho mike makes a quick appearance shooting herb in the face, james getting beat up holding an unloaded gun, stealing dope from dealers to get well and the infamous mighty mighty whitey.
Unc gives an update on where he's been in life; opening up about loved ones recently lost as well as health issues within his family. A few tales are told including a boosting almost gone bad situation, surviving a heavy psychosis, racing high on speedballs and his walkway, shooting up under a bridge story. This isn't the usual episode of Nod Squad but we hope you understand. We at Nod Squad hope you all have a safe and happy holidays.
Unc finally wraps up the final installment of this three part episode detailing what the actual fuck has been happening to him recently. The final tale involves massive surgery, loosing organs, waking up on fentanyl and his journey through detoxing. Its a tale with blood filled colostomy bags, blood filled mid line IV's, and bloody toilets with as many hospital narcotics that one is allowed to take in a Hospital confinement on this ending episode of Nod Squad.
It's been too long brethren, Unc returns after a long hiatus to details part 2 of what's been happening to him. Unc talks about the struggle of turning down pain pills at the hospital, waking up in the Intensive Care Unit and of course his most embarrassing shit stories. Our apologies for the long absence, it's been a trying year so we hope you are all taking care out there. Nod Squad has a Spotify playlist for anyone interested btw: link can be found below: Nod Squad - Music to Overdose To https://open.spotify.com/playlist/02wbs6mSJrnz2Dhlak3DfK?si=OAGrLVC9Q9WrouwNq58oUQ
Unc comes out of hiding and FINALLY reveals where he's been and whats been going on with his life the last 5 weeks. Getting out of sober living, dealing with quack doctors, shitting blood, and the misadventures of Henry and the homeless chick are just the beginning in this 3 part episode. We only scratch the surface in the first part and hope it is a good enough explanation as to why we have not been able to do anything at the moment. For those who've been left in the dark for so long we apologize and love you form the bottom of our heart.
Unc returns after taking a week break from podcasting to update everyone on how exhausting the fast paced grind of capitalism can be, how the riots and death of George Floyd affected him, and tells a quick story on how his Dad had to drive through the LA riots in the 90's. Unc also tells a lengthier story about getting arrested while sober and having to piss in an attempt for freedom. We won't spoil the details in this description but it takes a twist at the end. Hope you are all well brethren & cestren and we love you.
Unc visits his best friend in the whole world Zach in his new apartment to check in on how his ankle monitor has been treating him. The two share on what life is like "on life's terms," pffft. Unc complains on how his house manager is totally incompetent and announces that he will be moving out very soon, Zach shares a sexy shower scandal story and both Unc & Zach talk about handling the very large amount of friends relapsing around them. Also the story of Mason the infamous Tree House Kid gets shared at the end in this up, down & all around episode of Nod Squad. PS, sorry for the enormous amount of censor edits in this one; only so much tea can be spilled at a time.
Special Guest Bri Jaynes from Breaking Chains; The Whitney Project comes on the Nod Squad to tell her story in its entirety. From abusive relationships to robbing men to selling weed out of her car while on the job as a nurse; Bri has experienced first hand the chaos that ensues when chasing a quality opiate buzz. She also details all the pitfalls of trying to find a decent treatment center and the corruption within them (known as the Florida Shuffle). Bri has not only managed to overcome her addictions but also has an amazing article on VOX, and a truly inspiring YouTube channel & Facebook page called Breaking Chains; The Whitney Project where she livestreams and discusses all the challenging aspects of recovery.
Okay brethren, this isn't your typical episode of Nod Squad. Unc goes on an hour long tangent rant about where his head is at in his life. The insecurities, the fear, the regret, the resentment, all of it. What it's like trying to rebuild ones life while assessing the damaged relationships made from past mistakes. Dealing with and overcoming depressive states without falling off. Accepting that some will always look at a person as a fuck up regardless of their current growth in life. Uncertainty of the future and the process of self discovery are all topics Unc covers in this episode. Oh and also the ghosts of past relationships come back to haunt our host and his ninja like boundary reflexes made against them.
Unc gives a quick update on how weird his life has been recently with trying to adult, his dysfunctional dating disasters and rants about 90 day finance. We also dust off a few short war stories recorded over a year ago involving selling magic mushrooms, taking Roxycontin fronts, ditching a drunken Andy Dick, heroin high selfies while ghost riding the whip with a passed out gf sitting shotgun, and the tale of the Padoof Palace. What exactly is a Padoof Palace you say? Well you'll have to listen to find out in this all war story episode of Nod Squad.
Good friend and counselor from Unc's rehab facility comes on the podcast to share his days coming up in the hardcore punk zeitgeist, what his childhood was like growing up in Southern California and exactly how quickly his drug use flipped from the best of times to the absolute miserable pit of despair many of us come to terms with. We won't give too much away in this description because the stories in this episode get really dark. At the same time however toward the end of his tale our guest also details his experience with crawling out of a deeply rooted heroin addiction and facing some of life's most heart breaking challenges while keeping his sobriety intact. We can't throw our guests name out there we would like to plug his radio show "Your Life in America" which can be streamed on Soundcloud as well as his amazingly written blog https://yourlifeinamerica.com .
Unc finally celebrates 1 year of clean time and completely completing the 12 month rehab program he bestowed upon so many moons ago. Its been a long journey and to celebrate we dig deep into the vaults to dust off a recording almost 3 years old done with missing co-host Ryan. The two share jail stories, the arresting tales that got them there, the weird things that happen on the inside and briefly overview the program politics that inmates must abide by in order to keep the peace. Trigger warning, Unc details the amount of poop he had to clean up as a trustee, Ryan talks about his almost 21'st birthday DUI arrest; getting his mugshot with tear smeared party face paint and more on this blast from the past episode of Nod Squad.
Zoey aka the Porch Pirate from Ep. 4 comes back on with Unc to detail what's her life has been like in the past 17 months. When we last spoke with Zoey on air she was continuously getting kicked out of sober living houses up in the Central Coast and eventually made her way down to Santa Barbara to complete a 12 month inpatient program. Coincidentally many months later Unc had ventured to do the exact same thing. Zoey and Unc both reflect on what the experience was like getting clean and the challenges they faced while attempting to reform their rebellious nature. Zoey briefly talks about the trauma's of loosing sober living roommates to overdoses in the recent months, abusive ex bf's and the overall gossip and drama that goes down in an all female rehabilitation facility. It's an incredible miracle that both Unc & Zoey managed to crawl out of the depravity of their drug abuse and both find themselves behind the mic together and clean again after over a year since they got behind the Nod Squad mic and swapped war stories.
Unc does a solo recording from his car in the rain to get out of the house while still socially distancing to tell a few of his stabbing stories. Heavy war stories flow in this episode; ranging from drunk party knife disarmament, pre school pencil penetrations and passionately psychotic ex gf drug partners in crime. It's crazy to look back on these tales and realize the insanity a junkie romance can put two individuals through but hopefully you can look back and laugh like Unc does when narrating his self harm while in isolation.
Unc sneaks next door from sober living into inpatient to check in on his brethren who are stuck in lockdown. Gary & Mike return with comrade Trey who makes his first appearance and the four chop it up about exactly where their heads are at during this global crisis and how it has affected their recovery. Unc details the vast differences during his transition from inpatient to sober living and the challenges he has faced during the adjusting period. It has been a difficult time for everyone out there; and to prepare for the real world in the current state of affairs its in while at the same time leaving the safety bubble nest egg that is rehab can be overwhelming at times. Witnessing old friends struggling with sobriety, balancing boundaries without enabling, helping others while staying safe are just a few of the many tasks at hand for all of us. This isn't the average episode of Nod Squad but one that all four of us needed to process and get off our chest because we feel that many of you out there are experiencing the same kinds of hurdles as well.
Apologies for the loosely slapped together episode. Unc & Zach update their current situation of how their rehab is under quarantine, their early enforced move into sober living and the chaos that has ensued since the recent worldwide pandemic that has tragically swept over humanity. Both Unc & Zach briefly detail where their emotional / mental state is at during this crisis while trying to maintain sobriety and keep their recovery foundation firm. Zach reveals a little too much into his Grindr escapades, Gary makes a sneak appearance and Unc plays an older recording from the vaults where Unc & Zach exchange their car crash excursions while under the influence of various substances. Hope you are all doing the best you can during everything that is going on in the world today and we love you all.
Unc comes on for a solo session to celebrate the birthday of his fallen best friend Donny who died in 2016. He tells a series of shorter war stories about the absolutely insane apartment complex the two grew up partying in and all the nefarious characters that roamed that 7th realm of hell. Stabbings, escaped jail convicts, headless skeletons, cross dressers, biker gang beatdowns, robberies, and crack cooking are just some of the topics told in these tales. Unc reveals his remorse for how he handled the death of his brother and best friend and the emotional state reliving his experiences leave him in this chaotic and sad episode.
The amazing Slender comes back on with Unc and the two reminisce their Death Metal bands, debate on stigmas against marijuana maintenance within fellowships as well as questioning the pitfalls of their own flawed perceptions of their own addiction defects. The two also share of the joyous experience of what it feels like when getting released from jail, turning down heroin for once in their lives, and police harassment. Unc shares a tale about a hidden razor blade in an inmates ass while Slender tells the story of Big Scante and his erratic shotgun pointing behaviors.
In part 2, Gary returns with Unc in attempts to tell the high speed police pursuit stories they both originally intended on revealing. These are the kinds of scenarios that don't get aired on shows like cops, mainly because they involve both escaping without being detained. Gary also talks about getting jacked by his junkie comrades and his evil plot to seek revenge oh his oppressors; getting arrested and dope sick multiple times in the process. Oh and the two also discuss the joys of boofing as well.
In part 1 of this two part episode; Gary from rehab returns to swap shoplifting stories with Unc. Most of these five finger excursions involve running from police or getting caught by said police. Unc shares the time his cars gas pedal was stuck down while trying to drive to the methadone clinic and crashes into another vehicle. Zach bursts in mid way to take center stage and distract us with our good friend Tim who comes on for the very first time and talks about the time he did so much heroin that he was constipated for weeks and had to get charcoal shoved up his butt via tubes and shit everywhere in the Emergency Room. In Part 2 Gary and Unc will get into their high speed pursuits with law enforcement and committing robberies to keep their past dope habit alive.
Unc celebrates his first paycheck in years, his 10 month chip and the 1 year anniversary since his last brutal overdose; telling the entire tale in full and what it feels like to be at his "rock bottom" at the time. Getting punched in the face to be brought back to life, getting staff infections on his face, letting down loved ones and compulsively lying in attempts to keep his past heroin train on the tracks. Scruffy Jones also rejoins us to tell his meth induced psychosis, decapitated talking head hallucination story and the two reminisce their drug court memories as well as talk about where their lives are at now. This is a dark depressing episode at times but it also is a detailed glimpse into the misery one faces when struggling to keep a run going as long as possible.
Unc digs deep through the vaults to uncover the very first recording ever made of Nod Squad that was never released until now. Featuring our illustrious co-host Ryan, this recording dates years back during a time where both Unc & Ryan were fresh in the drug court program. Both share their arrest stories that led the two to meeting for the first time in jail with all the strung out scenarios that occurred therein. Unc also tells the tale of that fateful day when himself and Ryan both brainstormed the idea of Nod Squad. High speed pursuits, boofing heroin, crying in cop cars, toxic relationships and check fraud are all included in these classic war stories that are sure our brethren & cestren will get a kick out of in this historic episode of Nod Squad.
Unc’s rehab mentor little bear comes on the podcast to rehash all the insane depravity that led him to transfer from the farm in SLO county jail into inpatient; which include tying up the plug in a Meth Xanax blackout, breaking his back at the riverbed while on a beat down mission, kicking down public restroom doors straight into police during a nod and dodging an undercover sting operation with kung fu precision. Little Bear also dives into how dark his last drug run was after relapsing on goofballs in rehab and getting kicked out as well as the epiphany that guided him to return to inpatient. Little Bear has a story that is so very relatable to anyone who's attempted to manage a hardcore drug addiction out on the streets only to quickly find out how easily it spills into familiar chaos. At the same time however his turn around into success is one of inspiration for those who feel hopeless with battling their own personal demons.
Be Casper is a stand up comedian, psychedelic soldier and host of one of the most addictive podcasts in existence called "That Time I Got Arrested." Her top shelf storytelling details some of the most radically extreme situations a human being could experience ranging from childhood trauma to toxic abusive relationships and of course the many times she has been arrested. Be Caspers exposure to the horrible flaws within the many institutions she has resided within has left her with a profound perspective on exactly how broken our system is when regarding the means in which we handle convicts yet through her trials & tribulations she remains positive, upbeat and loving through it all. It was such a fun and pleasant time having her on and anyone listening to Nod Squad will absolutely fall in love with her podcast which is available on iTunes, Spotify, Stitcher and anywhere podcasts are available. Also be sure to check out Be Caspers FB & IG page as well. Oh, and Unc tells the story about how he contracted gonorrhea from an ex gf, got arrested for a dirty kratom drug test and dodged a mace seeded five man jail brawl.
Zach joins Unc once again to talk about what challenges the two face coming into the last months of their stay at rehab, the pressures of dealing with court battles, what it feels like re adjusting back into society and the thought process of loosing a loved one while in early recovery. Also, Tim & Dr. Cali Estes come on to talk about their best selling book "I Married a Junkie," the specific tools she practices for her recovering clients and the importance of diet & exercise when targeting specific dug addictions. More information about Dr. Cali Estes can be found at caliestes.com/ and to inquire about the services she offers please check out theaddictionscoach.com/
Unc returns from a 2 week vacation from podcasting to record solo, celebrate his birthday and tell the tale of his first experience with overdosing to the point of getting hit with Narcan. This war story is a long one and involves mouth to mouth resuscitation from an ex GF's new transgender love partner, $500 dollars worth of drugs flushed down the toilet, projectile vomit from shard shots, cocaine psychosis while riding on uber & lyft, trap house treasure maps, digging through trash cans and fractured ribs from a drug DUI car wreck (all in one war story). Unc reflects on where his life was then and how it has affected him today in the current situation he is in; living in a rehab with almost 9 months of clean time. Unc also updates everyone on what's been going on in his life and the challenges he has had to face dealing with loss of friends due to relapse and overdose. This is an extremely dark, sometimes funny & brutal story throughout that precisely details the kinds of depravity and debauchery a needle user can face during their time out on the town as well as the risks & dangers involved when injecting multiple foreign substances into ones veins.
Unc opens up on deeper issues, battling his demons, the overdose deaths of friends, loved ones who have gone missing & how he is handling his upcoming responsibilities. He also tells his war story of the time he DJ'd a house party on pain pills, magic mushrooms, weed & alcohol while a fellow party patron was getting into a bar brawl / having his ear sliced off with a broken bottle. Amongst all of that special guest John Gillen, founder of Ocean Recovery Centre & author of bestselling book "The Secret Disease of Addiction," comes on the podcast to discuss his battle overcoming alcoholism and the unique methods in which his facilities instill beneficial techniques that provide recovering addicts / alcoholics with a better chance of success upon their return into society. Anyone inquiring more information regarding John Gillen can find his website at oceanrecoverycentre.com to learn more about John's story, his treatment facilities and his very informative book on addiction.
Happy Holidays from all of us in the Squadron dear brethren & cestren. In this Christmas episode Unc updates everyone on his life and the transitions he's moving onto, regarding rehab, getting pissed on by dogs, mistaking clorox disinfectant wipes as baby wipes and shares his Christmas story about the time he got arrested and missed his dose of methadone. We also track down Ryan the missing Co-Host and have him come on to explain what caused his latest relapse, what transpired afterwards, his heroin hallucinations and shooting up grape soda made him realize that he needed to get clean. This ended up being a very heart felt episode of Nod Squad as Brian & Ryan haven't spoken to each other for months now; Brian has been locked away in rehab while Ryan has been running amuck trying to maintain and survive out in the real world between relapses. The two both share stories of what its like being sober and watching one another relapse and how it affected each other. We hope that this episode is entertaining yet thought provoking and that you all had a safe and happy Holidays.
In part 2 of this two part episode, Michael takes over more to tell his story that quickly degraded into slippery slopes of substance abuse. He tells tales of disputes with family and friends which resulted in roaming the streets, hanging out with complete strangers under bridges to get loaded and relapsing in the 8 other rehabs he's resided in before coming to the inpatient he currently lives in. Gary also chimes in to talk about the time he and his friends took Bath Salts in jail resulting in multiple bu-bops, his successful robbing escapades and escapes from being shot at by his victims. Both Gary and Michael have lived incredibly chaotic lives yet have come out stronger, sharper and more motivated to do right this time around. These two are full fledged members of the squadron for life and will be on Nod Squad time and time again to update our brethren on their progress throughout their journey of recovery.
Unc pulls aside two of his closest brothers in rehab (Gary & Michael) to cover a lot of ground in this 2 part episode of Nod Squad. Both Gary & Michael start by sharing their road trip story of surviving Mike's day pass to visit his kid and the thought process that took place in order for them both to resist the temptation to relapse and go on the run. Gary then goes into incredible detail of exactly how his life spiraled out of control after he was medically discharged from the military. What started out as fun and partying quickly transitioned into running jobs for high profile gang members, slanging drugs, and violence. Towards the end of his last run Gary was a shell of his former self, robbing people to survive, homeless, dirty and disgusting as you will hear him describe. This is a truly hilarious at the same time horrific episode of Nod Squad with a twist of inspiring hope for anyone who's ever felt lacking thereof.
This is a very special episode of Nod Squad in which Unc has special guest Matt Kahl on the podcast to talk about his participation & contribution to the award winning documentary film "From Shock to Awe." Matt served in the 101st Airborne Division from 2007-2011. During his time in the military & deployment to Afghanistan, Matt witnessed so much that it changed him in ways most of us could never possibly fathom. Upon his return home Matt was thrown into an extremely dangerous combination of prescription drugs which included opioid pain killers, benzodiazepines & SSRI's by his doctors in attempts to treat the physical, mental & emotional trauma's that deployment had left him. Desperately seeking for a way out Matt fortunately found a Spiritual Retreat Center that used Ayahuasca therapy. Over the coarse of a weekend Matt had undergone 4 ceremonies, taking the powerful psychedelic and experiencing such a powerful experience that after it was done he was left feeling relief from the anxiety, rage and agony that his experiences with deployment had left buried within himself. Matt's story is incredibly heartwarming & inspiring; one that we have all been touched by. "From Shock to Awe," is available to stream on through Amazon, iTunes, Google Play & Vimeo. For more information about the film please check out fromshocktoawe.com
Fellow rehab resident Low Louis meets up with Unc within the rehab facility to tell the Brethren why he might be leaving rehab, his situation with regaining custody of his children, and how he played chicken with a moving freight train and lost. Louis gets into some real experience, strength and hope on this one; detailing his slow yet long progression with drug use, his family upbringing and the constant battle of getting locked up, released and on a sick run again and again. It really gets deep and dark on this one as Louis expresses sincere remorse for the mistakes he made while raising his children while also attempting to maintain his addiction. Also, one of the darkest war stories of all time is told at the end which will make the hairs stand on the back of your neck in this chilling episode of Nod Squad.
Unc's side bunkie David pays a visit to Nod Squad studios with his fellow running partner Garret to talk about how they got into the business of hustling within the Central Coast, the insanity of adventures that ensued, how they both landed in San Diego and the slew of convictions that followed. Unc, David & Garret all share where they were during that fateful time that Crazy Casey took ungodly amounts of LSD, broke into a German Auto Shop, stole a car and drove it through the garage door, hitting a crowd of people at the SLO town farmers market. Garret and David both share their thoughts on what the steps and recovery has been like for them and why the drug game is a short lived one.
Unc gets a visit from his old time Prop 36 comrade and first time sponsor Daniel who briefly details his past reasoning behind moving back to Ventura to relapse, how he broke away from his old life and the ways in which he has maintained his current 2 plus years of sobriety. He also explains what it has been like working at an inpatient facility and how it contrasts to maintaining a sober living home. Unc delves into how horrible of a sponse he was when Daniel took him under his wing. The two also swap war stories of being trapped in a methadone maintenance program but the creme de la creme is definitely Daniel's story of being chased by meat vendors for boosting a bag of carne asada.
Picking back up where we left off, Unc & Nico from the "Thoughts of a Relapsing Drug Addict" Podcast continue to discuss the horrors and frustrations that their needle based addiction has caused them thus far. From re-sharpening sharps with household items to successfully infiltrate scar tissue to bypassing clogged syringes, the two get into the gritty dark details of what a heroin addiction exactly looks like. Unc & Nico also rant endlessly about conspiracies, big pharma cover ups and how the absolute stupidity our failing drug war has effected society. Unc also gives a brief update in the intro on rehab recaps, cell phone busts and the specifics of what a "library contract" entails; all on this gruesome episode of Nod Squad.
