A BIG ONE BACK! This week the boys deep dive into WHEATUS! Spencer recently attended a concert at Modern Love and got an interview with Brendan Brown post-show. Brendan gave an incredible interview and was so gracious with his time. He talked about Wheatus' unique way of managing a setlist and what the fans mean to him. The fellas discuss the crazy backstory for the band's first album and how they self-produced it IN BBB's mother's house. They discuss how the band blew up in other countries before the US, AND finally debate whether the album still holds up 24 years later. The fellas also recap Spencer's Special taping at Ranchmans (which he is excited to release in the fall) and he gives praise to the other comics and the crew that helped put the show together. They then go into a deep discussion about a friend of the show Noeline Hofmanns AMAZING performance opening for Charley Crockett at the Grey Eagle, and shout-out another amazing Albertan Cindy Lees incredible double Album “Diamond Jubilee”.Welcome to Misfits on Vinyl! Learning is fun. Well, maybe not always, but in this case it is. Like, a lot. Have you ever looked at big swimbaits, soft or hard baits, and thought - man that looks fun, but I have no idea where to start? If you fish, and say no, you's a liar. We've always wanted to have an episode devoted to big swimbaits but none of us are experts. Jordan throws em a little bit, Nate a bit less than that, Lola a bit less than that. We reached out to Brendan Brown, he agreed, we got stoked, and here we are! In this episode we cover tacos, fishing, electronics a bit, horses, alligators and of course SWIMBAITS. Brendan gets SCIENTIFIC with it, straight Professor Brown status. Rods, reels, line, hooks, soft, hard, homemade stuff, glides, techniques, ALL OF IT! Grab a pen and pad of paper, this is Big Swimbaits 101! Please leave a positive review on iTune or Spotify, follow us on YouTube - we appreciate you so much! TEK-Ocean (ASX: T3K) chairman Brendan Brown joins Small Caps to discuss the company's pursuit of work within the growing offshore decommissioning and renewables markets. The newly listed services provider is currently involved in the $12 billion Star of the South offshore wind farm and a $48 billion oil well remediation both located off Victoria's coast. An estimated $54 billion of decommissioning work is forecast to be required on Australian offshore oil and gas infrastructure over the next three decades due to ageing assets and heightened regulations. TEK-Ocean raised $6.6 million through its recent IPO with funds going towards vessel upgrades and capital equipment purchases to chase opportunities in this target market. Its flagship vessel TEK-Ocean Spirit was recently recertified for another five years and had a new 60t offshore crane installed as part of the planned upgrades.Article:https://smallcaps.com.au/tek-ocean-upgrades-vessel-multi-billion-dollar-offshore-energy-projects/For more information:https://smallcaps.com.au/stocks/T3K/

What can I say about the cultural phenomenon, who is Ryan Bagdikian? Next to my family and some personal influences, Ryan is truly one of the most inspiring and influential people I have ever met. Ryan is one of the most intelligent people I have ever come across and the fact that he has risen above obstacles to start an amazing early career in production speaks volumes! This guy will be one of the biggest names in media, I guarantee it. He has worked as a Producer at ESPN, has received a vote of confidence from SportsCenter anchor, Scott Van Pelt himself. After talking to him in studio for my podcast, I clearly see why. He is driven, he is resilient, and he always knows how to persevere in any challenge. On the podcast, we talked about him covering the NBA Finals and College Football National Championships. We talked about meeting and working with some of the most famous people in the world, which include Lebron James, Kevin Hart, and Disney CEO Robert Iger. We also talked about how he made the most of his opportunities at ESPN, what you need to prepare for when pursuing a career in media, and why you need to stay humble. We also talked about some other fun things, like our favorite sports movies and characters, Dating Apps, and NY vs. Boston sports fandom. Brendan Brown aka Brendan St. Brown also adds to our convo throughout the podcast. My conversation with Ryan really relates to the title of this podcast. This was as productive a conversation as you can make it. (3:46) - We start the show with Matt and Ryan talking about their favorite sports movies and sports movie characters. (6:18) - Ryan and Matt get into a deep discussion about Ryan working as a Video Producer for ESPN. He talks about the best things he got out of working for the major sports media company. He talks about what he has learned as a person and a professional, and he offers some amazing advice on taking advantage of a major opportunity (14:12) - Ryan talks about some of his early opportunities after getting hired at ESPN. He talks about some of the more influential people in his early career and how they have helped him cease his opportunities. He also discusses how SportCenter Anchor, Scott Van Pelt, gave him an early vote of confidence once he got his foot in the door. (27:16) - Ryan talks about his humble beginnings. He talks about interviewing for his first position at ESPN. What made him stick out as a candidate? How did he get promoted and worked his way up at ESPN at such a young age? How did he go from an entry-level part-time job to covering NBA Finals and College Football National Championships? (38:53) - What is Ryan’s advice to people who want to start a career in media? (49:50) - Ryan and Matt talk about the high profiled people they have both worked with in their early production careers. Ryan also just talks about interacting with some of the most famous and influential people in the world, which include Kevin Hart, The Ball Family, and Disney CEO Robert Iger. (54:51) - Ryan talks about what it was like working at ESPN the day Kobe Bryant passed away (1:24:49) - Matt and Ryan share more stories regarding professional athlete encounters. These encounters include Aaron Judge, Lebron, AD, and Rajon Rondo (1:30:06) - We then get into the world of collecting and selling autographs. A world that Ryan use to be very involved in. He talks about his experiences trying to get star athletes sign autographs for him (1:36:55) - We then talk about Matt’s specific loyalty to the New York Knicks and Madison Square Garden. We also discuss Ryan’s Boston sports fandom to Matt’s New York sports fandom (1:46:13) - Ryan and Matt have a funny, but also honest chat about dating apps and dating. (1:59:28) - What are some of the great TV Shows and Movies Ryan and Matt discovered in the past year? (2:05:42) - Ryan then answers the Proust Questionnaire (2:14:15)

In the span of nine months, the four largest powers in the transatlantic alliance will have confronted or experienced major political change. This has unleashed an expansive debate on the state of the West, from trade to monetary policy to the military alliance. On Episode 030, I chronicle the making of one of my all-time favorite albums: The Receiving End of Sirens' Between The Heart And The Synapse. Released on April 26, 2005, Between The Heart And The Synapse was TREOS' debut full-length album – and marked the introduction of newcomer Casey Crescenzo, who stepped into the Boston-based group after original singer Ben Potrykus left the band in 2003. Crescenzo's musical versatility – bordering on genius – was immediately felt, and he pushed his new bandmates to greater musical heights along with introducing the electronic elements that made Synapse such a masterpiece. Balancing three guitars, three adept singers, complex time signatures, and cohesive lyrical content is no easy task, but TREOS made these lofty ambitions look effortless. That's why it remains a favorite of mine a decade later – and inspired bands like Cartel and Panic! At The Disco to push their craft to the next level. To celebrate the album's 10th anniversary, I caught up with old friends Brendan Brown (bass/vocals) and Nate Patterson (guitar) to share a lot of laughs, reminisce about writing Synapse, and learn why they loved tormenting former tourmates Panic! At The Disco. I hope you enjoy this very fun chat. Links: Between The Heart And The Synapse on iTunes Voice & Verse Podcast on iTunes | Stitcher | Twitter | Facebook
